{"id":163777,"date":"2016-06-11T19:32:34","date_gmt":"2016-06-11T14:02:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?p=163777"},"modified":"2016-06-11T19:32:34","modified_gmt":"2016-06-11T14:02:34","slug":"salawa-blast-cid-records-statement-from-over-40-army-personnel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/salawa-blast-cid-records-statement-from-over-40-army-personnel\/","title":{"rendered":"Salawa Blast: CID Records Statement From Over 40 Army Personnel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The CID which commenced investigations into the Kosgama, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Salawa&amp;x=9&amp;y=8\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Salawa<\/span><\/a> Army Camp fire has recorded statements from over 40 army personnel who were at the premises at the time of the incident.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/after-the-kosgama-explosions\/kosgama-salawa-blast\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-163723\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-163723\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Kosgama-Salawa-blast-.jpg\" alt=\"Kosgama Salawa blast\" width=\"639\" height=\"426\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Kosgama-Salawa-blast-.jpg 639w, https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Kosgama-Salawa-blast--300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 639px) 100vw, 639px\" \/><\/a>Meanwhile, the government will commence paying compensation from June 14 onwards, to the victims who lost their houses as well as those whose properties were damaged due to the fire and subsequent explosions from the Army Camp.<\/p>\n<p>The government has deployed over 75 valuation officers to estimate the damage to the properties. Over 1700 families were affected due to the fire, with some houses and shops completely destroyed.<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on Friday ordered the Treasury not to release any funds for the purchase of any cars for ministers or deputy ministers until the victims of the Salawa Army camp fire, and victims from the recent floods and landslides are compensated.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from the CID investigation, a separate Court of Inquiry appointed by the Army Commander is also investigating the fire at the camp.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":22,"featured_media":163723,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[3,1,2375],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-163777","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-colombotelegraph","category-news","category-stories"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.3 -
