Gunawardena, switched his loyalty cap after Rajapaksa was ousted from the Presidency last year.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Wijesooriya maintained that VIP security for someone like Gunawardena cannot be justified in any way, and he criticized the national government under Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe for failing to live up to their rhetoric.<\/p>\n<p>In May, The Commission to Investigate allegations of Bribery or Corruption filed a case against Gunawardena, for his failure to declare his assets during several years including in 2011 and 2012.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":22,"featured_media":54794,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[3,1,2375],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-164230","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-colombotelegraph","category-news","category-stories"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.3 -
