Police today used tear gas to stop students from attempting to forcibly march towards Temple Trees<\/span><\/a>, who demanded the government to shut down the private medical college in Malabe.<\/p>\n

The protesting students from the Inter University Students Federation, and the University of Sri Jayewardenepura tried to break down the barriers and march towards Temple Trees, but they were prevented by the riot police who also used tear gas to disperse the group.<\/p>\n
