{"id":164443,"date":"2016-06-26T16:24:18","date_gmt":"2016-06-26T10:54:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?p=164443"},"modified":"2016-06-26T16:24:18","modified_gmt":"2016-06-26T10:54:18","slug":"tiran-alles-refused-entry-in-singapore","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/tiran-alles-refused-entry-in-singapore\/","title":{"rendered":"Tiran Alles Refused Entry In Singapore"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Immigration authorities in Singapore refused entry to former Parliamentarian <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Tiran+Alles&amp;x=14&amp;y=1\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Tiran Alles<\/span><\/a> last week.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_60414\" style=\"width: 192px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/tiran-alles-had-created-a-world-record-by-not-talking-ranil\/tiran-alles\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-60414\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-60414\" class=\"size-full wp-image-60414\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/tiran-alles.jpg\" alt=\"Tiran Alles\" width=\"182\" height=\"210\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-60414\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tiran Alles<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Alles, who was granted permission by the Court to travel to Singapore for medical treatment, was denied entry on upon his arrival at the Changi International Airport in Singapore on June 20.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, he had to take a return flight the next day to Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n<p>The authorities did not give him reasons as to why he was denied entry to Singapore, although before the Sri Lankan Court issued him a travel ban last year, Alles was a frequent visitor to Singapore.<\/p>\n<p>Alles is currently embroiled in a financial fraud case at the Reconstruction and Development Agency (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=RADA&amp;x=13&amp;y=7\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">RADA<\/span><\/a>) where it is alleged that RADA, which was chaired by him had obtained Rs. 645 million from the Treasury to build houses for tsunami victims, but had not build any houses.<\/p>\n<p>On June 14, the Colombo High Court granted permission to Alles to travel to Singapore for medical treatment for a period of two weeks.<\/p>\n<p>A few weeks earlier, Mahinda Rajapaksa\u2019s Media Secretary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Rohan+Weliwita&amp;x=10&amp;y=5\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Rohan Weliwita<\/span><\/a> who is embroiled in a money laundering case at the Carlton Sports Network was also denied entry to Singapore, when he travelled to Singapore to take part in a broadcast exhibition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":22,"featured_media":5685,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[3,1,2375],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-164443","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-colombotelegraph","category-news","category-stories"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.3 -
