{"id":166614,"date":"2016-08-20T03:24:01","date_gmt":"2016-08-19T21:54:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?p=166614"},"modified":"2016-08-24T16:10:49","modified_gmt":"2016-08-24T10:40:49","slug":"maithri-gives-a-mahinda-style-warning-to-joint-opposition-mps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/maithri-gives-a-mahinda-style-warning-to-joint-opposition-mps\/","title":{"rendered":"Maithri Gives A Mahinda Style Warning To Joint Opposition MPs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Maithripala+Sirisena&amp;x=4&amp;y=7\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Maithripala Sirisena<\/span><\/a> continued to follow the footsteps of his predecessor, Mahinda Rajapaksa, issuing a warning to the Joint Opposition Parliamentarians declaring that he will reveal all their \u2018secrets\u2019 if they went ahead and created a new party.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_165002\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Maithripala-Sirisena-.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-165002\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-165002\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Maithripala-Sirisena--150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Maithripala Sirisena\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Maithripala-Sirisena--150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Maithripala-Sirisena--50x50.jpg 50w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-165002\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Maithripala Sirisena<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Addressing an event held in Matara on Friday to commemorate the first anniversary of the UNP-SLFP Government, Sirisena said that some people are dreaming of forming a new government. \u201cI am telling them, if they even try to form a new party, I will reveal all their secrets and create a situation where they will have nowhere but to roam only on the streets,\u201d Sirisena declared.<\/p>\n<p>He also said that no one can topple this government and it will continue for the full five year term.<\/p>\n<p>Sirisena said that the people who destroyed the country, who introduced the white van culture, and robbed the country, will never be allowed to return to form a new government.<\/p>\n<p>He also said that his government will never be influenced by any foreign power and both Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and he will save the country from the present economic crisis.<\/p>\n<p>In the run up to the Presidential Election in November 2014, Rajapaksa who was President at that time said that he had \u2018files\u2019 on all those who broke allegiance with him to support Sirisena who was the Presidential Candidate. \u201cI have details about them all and also \u2018files\u2019 containing certain information about them.
