{"id":166617,"date":"2016-08-20T00:24:35","date_gmt":"2016-08-19T18:54:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?p=166617"},"modified":"2016-08-20T03:26:30","modified_gmt":"2016-08-19T21:56:30","slug":"thajudeen-murder-ex-jmo-files-fr-preventing-his-arrest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/thajudeen-murder-ex-jmo-files-fr-preventing-his-arrest\/","title":{"rendered":"Thajudeen Murder: Ex-JMO Files FR Preventing His Arrest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former Colombo Judicial Medical Officer Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Ananda+Samarasekera&amp;x=7&amp;y=8\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ananda Samarasekera<\/span><\/a> on Friday filed a Fundamental Rights application before Supreme Court seeking an order preventing his arrest in connection to the missing body parts of ruggerite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Wasim+Thajudeen&amp;x=5&amp;y=8\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Wasim Thajudeen<\/span><\/a> who was murdered.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_162273\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Ananda-Samarasekera.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-162273\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-162273\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Ananda-Samarasekera-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Ananda Samarasekera\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Ananda-Samarasekera-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Ananda-Samarasekera-50x50.jpg 50w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-162273\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ananda Samarasekera<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Samarasekera has cited 13 officials as respondents in his petition including IGP Pujith Jayasundera, Health Ministry secretary Anura Jayawickrema and members of the Investigations Committee which was appointed to inquire into the first autopsy carried out by Samarasekera.<\/p>\n<p>Early this month, Health Ministry Secretary Anura Jayawickrema in a report submitted to the Colombo Additional Magistrate said that ex-JMO was responsible for the missing body parts of Thajudeen&#8217;s body.<\/p>\n<p>Jayawickrema said that Samarasekera had acted in an irresponsible manner when conducting the first postmortem, in which Samarasekera ruled Thajudeen&#8217;s death was due to an accident.
