He was arrested for allegedly misusing state vehicles during the previous government.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_167052\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Sarath-Weerawansa.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-167052\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-167052\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Sarath-Weerawansa-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Sarath Weerawansa\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Sarath-Weerawansa-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/Sarath-Weerawansa-50x50.jpg 50w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-167052\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sarath Weerawansa<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Sarath Weerawansa was arrested after he arrived at the FCID to give a statement on charges that he had misused state vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Mohammed Muzammil, the spokesman of Weerawansa\u2019s National Freedom Front was arrested for misusing vehicles belonging to the Presidential Secretariat during former President Mahinda Rajapaksa\u2019s term.
