Therefore, the case will be taken up on February 2, 2017.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_152564\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Wimal-Weerawansa-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-152564\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-152564\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Wimal-Weerawansa-1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Weerwansa\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Wimal-Weerawansa-1-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Wimal-Weerawansa-1-50x50.jpg 50w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-152564\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Weerwansa<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In a submission made to the court yesterday, the CID officials said that they required more time to gather evidence over the matter.<\/p>\n<p>Weerawansa speaking to reporters outside Court, said that he was not guilty and if the judiciary was independent then it will be ruled that he had committed no wrongdoing.<\/p>\n<p>Weerawansa was arrested in October 2015 by immigration and emigration authorities at the Bandaranaike International Airport when he attempted to leave the country using an invalid DPL passport.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":22,"featured_media":152564,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[3,1,2375],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-167421","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-colombotelegraph","category-news","category-stories"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.3 -
