This was the second such incident within a little over 24 hours, the first such incident was reported from the Pussellawa Police Station yesterday.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_157114\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Sagala.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-157114\" class=\"size-full wp-image-157114\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Sagala.jpg\" alt=\"Sagala Ratnayaka - Minister of Law &amp; Order \" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Sagala.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Sagala-50x50.jpg 50w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-157114\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sagala Ratnayaka &#8211; Minister of Law &amp; Order<\/p><\/div>\n<p>According to the Prison Department, the body of the inmate was found by the prison officials today morning. His remains has been sent to the Matara Hospital for a post mortem.<\/p>\n<p>The inmate, who was a resident of Matara was serving a sentence of ten years of imprisonment over a child abuse case.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/police-officers-suspended-as-33-year-man-dies-while-in-police-custody\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">On Sunday, the police reported<\/span><\/a> that that 33 year old man, K. Ravichandran from Pussellawa died after committing suicide. The incident sparked heavy protests with residents claiming that the victim may have been tortured to death by the police who had detained him for questioning after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
