Senadhipathi has cited medical reasons for his request to travel overseas.<\/p>\n<p>Senadhipathi is involved in two bribery cases, one involving Avant Garde floating armoury where Senadhipathi and several others including Gotabaya Rajapaksa are alleged to have made a unlawful profit of billions of rupees, and in another case, Senadhipathi is a suspect in offering and accepting a bribe of Rs. 35 million<\/p>\n<p>Early this month, Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya granted permission to Major General Palitha Fernando to travel to Qatar to attend an athletic seminar. Prior to that, the court granted permission to Gotabaya Rajapaksa to travel to China, also for a seminar. They, along with Senadhipathi are currently out on bail in the floating armoury case.<\/p>\n<p>In August, the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption filed a case at the Colombo Magistrate Court against Rajapaksa, and seven others including Fernando and Senadhipathi.
