The decision was given today after a revision petition was filed by Alles, who is a former MP and the owner of the Mawbima newspaper.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5685\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/tiran-colombotelegraph.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5685\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-5685\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/tiran-colombotelegraph-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Tiran\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/tiran-colombotelegraph-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/tiran-colombotelegraph-50x50.jpg 50w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-5685\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tiran<\/p><\/div>\n<p>On November 2, the Colombo High Court remanded Alles, Saliya Wickremasuriya and Jayantha Samarasinghe for allegedly committing financial fraud worth Rs. 125 million at the Reconstruction and Development Agency (RADA) in 2006.<\/p>\n<p>Wickremasuriya was the Chief Operating Officer of RADA, while Samarasinghe was an accountant at the organisation. RADA under the Chairmanship of Alles. They allegedly obtained Rs. 645 million from the Treasury to build houses for tsunami victims. However no houses were constructed.
