However, Senanayake, who has been accused of concealing evidence in the murder of ruggerite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Wasim+Thajudeen\">Wasim Thajudeen<\/a>, was imposed with a travel ban, while the judge also ordered him to appear at the CID every Sunday.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Anura-Senanayake1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-162987\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Anura-Senanayake1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"507\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Anura-Senanayake1.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/Anura-Senanayake1-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Even though Senanayake was arrested over a year ago by the CID, there has been no formal charges filed against him. The Judge also issued a stern warning to the ex-DIG informing him to not interact with any of the witnesses in the murder case.<\/p>\n<p>Thajudeen, a Sri Lankan ruggerite and former Havelock SC captain, was killed in Colombo in May 2012 in what appeared to be an accident, but it was later ruled as a murder, with the accident staged.<\/p>\n<p>Another police officer, ex Narahenpita Crimes OIC Sumith Perera who was also arrested and remanded on the same charges of concealing evidence in the murder case was granted bail in February this year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":22,"featured_media":162825,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[3,2186,1,2375],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-178230","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-colombotelegraph","category-featured-news","category-news","category-stories"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.3 -
