{"id":178315,"date":"2017-06-04T00:00:42","date_gmt":"2017-06-03T18:30:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?p=178315"},"modified":"2017-06-05T01:06:12","modified_gmt":"2017-06-04T19:36:12","slug":"london-is-under-attack-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/london-is-under-attack-again\/","title":{"rendered":"London Under Attack: Incidents Confirmed As Terrorism"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Armed police respond to serious incidents in three locations in London \u2013 London Bridge, Vauxhall and Borough Market.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The first report was of a van ploughing into pedestrians on London Bridge.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A second incident is ongoing in Borough Market where there are reports of multiple stabbings.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Police are also responding to an incident at Vauxhall, Scotland Yard said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Metropolitan police have said: \u201c The incident at Vauxhall is a stabbing and is not connected to the incidents at London Bridge and Borough Market.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">At 0025hrs 4\/6\/17 the incidents at <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/LondonBridge?src=hash\">#LondonBridge<\/a> &amp; <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/BoroughMarket?src=hash\">#BoroughMarket<\/a> were declared as terrorist incidents.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Metropolitan Police (@metpoliceuk) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/metpoliceuk\/status\/871152151787171840\">June 3, 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Prime Minister Theresa May has said the &#8220;terrible incident&#8221; in London is being treated as a &#8220;potential act of terrorism&#8221;.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"headline__heading\">London terror attack: London Bridge, Borough Market and Vauxhall latest &#8211; at least two dead amid van attack, stabbings and gunfire, the Telegraph said. According to the newspaper:\u00a0<span class=\"m_first-letter\">A<\/span> series of co-ordinated terror attacks have hit London in three different areas, with reports of dozens\u00a0of casualties from stabbings and pedestrians mown down by a vehicle.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"headline__heading\"><strong>Update:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A security guard who oversees a number of pubs in the area has told the BBC he saw four people stabbed by three attackers.<\/p>\n<p>The man, who was deeply shocked and asked not to be named, said he was at the Market Porter pub when a colleague at another bar said there was a stabbing at the Borough Bistro pub nearby.<\/p>\n<p>He said he went towards this pub and saw that &#8220;everybody started running&#8221; and there was screaming.<\/p>\n<p>The eyewitness added that he saw three attackers, one of whom had a long knife and stabbing people, including a girl in her early 20s.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>There are reports of a number of casualties after an incident that possibly involved a vehicle and a knife in the London Bridge area, quoting the British Transport Police, the BBC said.<\/p>\n<p>London Bridge has been closed after an incident on Saturday night, after witnesses said a van had hit pedestrians, the Guardian reported.<\/p>\n<p>The Metropolitan police are urging people in the areas of the incident in Vauxhall, London Bridge and Borough Market to get to safer areas away from the scenes.<\/p>\n<p>Downing Street said: &#8220;The prime minister is in contact with officials and is being regularly updated on the incident at London Bridge.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Jeremy Corbyn, the Labour leader, said on Twitter: \u201cBrutal and shocking incidents reported in London. My thoughts are with the victims and their families.
