Bodu Bala Sena’s General Secretary Galagoda Atte Gnanasara<\/a> today filed a Fundamental Rights petition seeking the court’s intervention to prevent his arrest.<\/p>\n

The FR petition was filed through his lawyers. Gnanasara has gone into hiding claiming that there is a conspiracy to assassinate him.<\/p>\n

On May 25, the police claimed it had deployed several units to arrest the firebrand monk, who has been charged for inciting racism against the Muslim community. However, the police is yet to apprehend him. Last week the police said it had arrested a supporter of the BBS who is believed to have set fire to several shops owned by Muslims.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
