The Commission of Inquiry appointed by President Maithripala Sirisena to inquire into serious acts of fraud, corruption and abuse of power, state resources and privileges, better known by its acronym \u2018PRECIFAC\u2019 has recommended legal action on 34 cases where the parties named include former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and his brothers Basil and Gotabaya.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>PRECIFAC has recoomended that Mahind Rajapaksa be stripped of his civic rights over losses caused to ITN by getting the television station to telecast advertisements free of charge.<\/p>\n

Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has been named in the case regarding Rathna (RAKNA?) Lanka Ltd an Avant Garde Maritime Services Ltd. in which the Commission recommends legal action as per the Bribery Act. Legal action has also been recommended against Basil Rajapaksa over \u2018 Misuse of state funds, assets and other benefits.\u2019<\/p>\n

PRECIFAC has also recommended further investigation of a payment amounting to Rs 260m by Namal Rajapaksa and his brother Yoshitha \u2018under the President\u2019s Office.\u2019<\/p>\n
