{"id":192793,"date":"2018-08-14T23:43:01","date_gmt":"2018-08-14T18:13:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?p=192793"},"modified":"2018-08-16T12:28:36","modified_gmt":"2018-08-16T06:58:36","slug":"gnanasara-labours-within-hospital-in-surgery-less-relief","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/gnanasara-labours-within-hospital-in-surgery-less-relief\/","title":{"rendered":"Gnanasara Labours With(in) Hospital In Surgery-Less Relief"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Galagoda+Atte+Gnanasara\">Galagoda Atte Gnanasara<\/a>, the\u00a0General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) who provisionally admitted himself to a Class 1 Luxury Room at the Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital (SJGH) pending verdict on a Contempt of Court case, remains there despite his sentence and even though there is no surgery scheduled or required.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_192652\" style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Galagoda-Atte-Gnanasara-BBS-.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-192652\" class=\"size-full wp-image-192652\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Galagoda-Atte-Gnanasara-BBS-.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"720\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Galagoda-Atte-Gnanasara-BBS-.jpg 540w, https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Galagoda-Atte-Gnanasara-BBS--225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-192652\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Gnanasara<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Dr <a href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Susitha+Senaratne\">Susitha Senaratne<\/a>,\u00a0the quasi Director of SJGH, earlier declared on Derana TV that the monk would be operated on to remove a 3 cm kidney stone. Senaratne said that the surgery would be performed on August 13th, although it was asserted that it would be done on August 10th.<\/p>\n<p>However sources within SJGH confirm that the staghorn calculus of the kidney found in Gnanasara did not warrant immediate surgery and the Urology and allege that the Transplant Surgeon, Dr Niroshan Seneviratne, a close associate of Senaratne is a co-conspirator of the illusion of planned surgery to perpetuate Gnanasara\u2019s stay in hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Sources say that certain doctors have strived to ensure that \u201cmedical reasons\u201d are invented so that surgery need not be performed on Gnanasara even as \u201cnew reasons\u201d are recorded on the bed head ticket of the monk to keep him in hospital for an alleged &#8220;heart condition&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>It was also reported by Colombo Telegraph that Gnanasara who appeared to be in fit condition was fixed to a cardiac monitor and in spite of his imprisoned state photography of his staged condition was encouraged so that \u201csympathy photographs\u201d may leak, strengthening the lobbying for a Presidential Pardon.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Senaratne, as has been pointed out by Colombo Telegraph on previous occasions, is functioning as director illegally since the illegal nature of his appointment persuaded court to demand that the Hospital Board suspend him.<\/p>\n<p>Gnanasara has been sentenced to 19 years of rigorous imprisonment\u00a0on\u00a0four Contempt of Court charges over an incident that took place on January 25, 2016.\u00a0The determination was on a case filed by the Attorney General against Gnanasara following a petition submitted to the Appeals Court by the Former Homagama Magistrate and current Colombo Chief Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":22,"featured_media":192652,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[3,2186,1,2375],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-192793","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-colombotelegraph","category-featured-news","category-news","category-stories"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.3 -
