In a remarkable act of gratitude, the three lady school teachers of Stafford Sri Lankan Doha School who were detained at the Al Saad Police Station in Doha Qatar, have submitted a letter to the Police thanking them for the respect and care shown and provided to them during their time of incarceration.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>“I take this opportunity to thank you when our own Ambassador and the Sri Lankan School humiliated and harassed us” the letter when on to say.<\/p>\n

The three lady teachers were detained at the Al Saad Police Station in Qatar, after authorities of the Stafford Sri Lankan Doha School following Ambassador A.S.P. Liyanage<\/a>‘s\u00a0instructions filed a case with the Police stating that the teachers were absconding.<\/p>\n

However whilst understanding their plight, the Qatar Police officials did not have them locked up in any cell but rather detained them in one of the offices at the Police Station. The Qatari Police personnel also permitted the Sri Lankan community members to supply them with food whilst being detained.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile with the community of Sri Lankans in Qatar finally obtaining their release, the teachers have now filed a case against Ambassador Liyanage for insulting and verbally abusing them in raw filthy language in front of many male school and embassy officials and also for unlawful dismissal from employment with the Ministry of Labour.<\/p>\n

Whilst trusting the Qatar legal system to take its course, the submitted letter also stated “We will never forget to inform our society at large that we can trust the Qatar legal system in good faith. Nothing is impossible with good people. You Mr. Hamed and Mr. Athika was extraordinary. The driver to all Police Officers treated the three of us as respecting any teacher”.<\/p>\n

Majority of the Sri Lankan Community in Qatar are of the hope that justice would be meted out to these three lady teachers and they will be reinstated to their jobs so that they can get on with their lives.<\/p>\n
