President Maithripala Sirisena will amend the Gazette notification relating to the subject allocation of ministries.<\/p>\n

Kiriella<\/p><\/div>\n

Colombo Telegraph learns that under the amended Gazette, state banks and estate companies owned by the state would be brought under the Ministry of State Enterprise, Hill Country Development and Kandy Heritage, held by Lakshman Kiriella<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

State banks are currently under the Ministry of Finance and Mass Media, held by Mangala Samaraweera.<\/p>\n

President Maithripala Sirisena, at the last Cabinet meeting, had promised to resolve the issue relating to the subject allocation at Kiriella’s ministry.
\nWhen the matter was raised at the Cabinet meeting yesterday at the Presidential Secretariat, President Maithripala Sirisena said the Gazette notification on the subject allocation was \u201churried\u201d due to various factors.<\/p>\n

Sirisena promised to resolve the issues relating to Kiriella\u2019s ministry, admitting that the current allocation was a \u201cmistake\u201d.<\/p>\n

As per the Gazette issued by President Sirisena last week, Kiriella only received four minor institutions \u2013 namely Ceylon Ceramic Corporation, KESCO, BCC Company and the State Resources Management Corporation \u2013 that are on the verge of bankruptcy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
