Sri Lanka is a multi-ethnic country where the arrival of Muslims occurred in several ways.\u00a0\u00a0We have to spot the flourishing period of Muslims in Sri Lanka and the crisis period as well. An in-depth analysis is needed to resolve the prevailing situation of the country.<\/p>\n

Islam and Middle East<\/b><\/p>\n

Islam was formed and spread in the Middle East at the beginning. Growth of the religion took place with the influence of various factors such as culture and environment of many other countries. We could observe in countries like Turkey, Egypt, and Iran. These countries still follow their cultural values. Islamic countries have adopted a lifestyle balancing both teachings of Islam and the cultural values of the nation.<\/p>\n

Emergence of Radicalism<\/b><\/p>\n

Ideologies of Abdul Wahhab (Wahhabism) were created by the Saudi Arabian rulers to seize the government and sovereignty of the descendants of Prophet Mohammed. Wahhabism consisted of fanaticism and extremism which ruined the cultural and historical values of the society.<\/p>\n

Sri Lanka and Radical Organizations<\/b><\/p>\n

Sri Lankan radicalized Islamic groups mostly express monotheism\u00a0than preaching about Prophet Mohammed. Their campaigning area is restricted to theology. They expound radicalism leads to the concept of International Sovereignty. They deeply implant their thoughts to their followers. These types of radicalized organizations are inappropriate for a multi-cultural country like Sri Lanka. Several Muslim countries have banned these types of radical organizations.<\/p>\n

Destructive Activities<\/b><\/p>\n

Penetration of radical organizations into Sri Lanka has immensely damaged the historical identities, cultural values and archeological evidences of Sri Lankan Muslims. Radical organizations have isolated Sri Lankan Muslims from other communities. Abolition of shrines, \u201cMeelad\u201d ceremonies and \u201cKandoori\u201d events curtailed the prospects of National Integrity and togetherness.<\/p>\n

Separations<\/b><\/p>\n

Radical organizations who speak\u00a0monotheism have divided Sri Lankan Muslims. They are functioning under different names. They carried monotheism but they could not build unity due to their untruthfulness.<\/p>\n

Darwinism and Radicalism<\/b><\/p>\n

Darwin highlighted the notion of \u201csurvival of the fittest\u201d.\u00a0He stated, \u201cIt is not the strongest species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the ones most responsive to change.\u201d Likewise, radicalized people claim that they are not fundamentalists. They have negatively been responding since their inception.<\/p>\n

Suggestions<\/b><\/p>\n

Sri Lankan Muslims have been living as a respectable society in Sri Lanka. Majority of the Sri Lankan Muslims desire peaceful living in the native land. They do not support extremists. They request government to prohibit all these radicalized organizations methodically. All the Sri Lankan Muslims and other communities should extend their fullest support to the government. Proper measures should be taken immediately to reinstate the regular arrangement of the country.<\/p>\n
