He said although he took leadership, top officials of the government across all political spectrums are working against his plans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLook at how many drug dealers have stepped out since I signed the death warrants&#8230;It is the same drug dealers who have resorted to taking legal action against the implementation of the death penalty too,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Sirisena told the gathering that these drug dealers are puppeteering various individuals and organisations who appear in the form of NGOs or civil society organisations, to work against his plan to executive those found guilty of rug offenses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnyone who works to prevent the death penalty from being implemented is directly or indirectly aiding drug dealers,\u201d he said, implying the Supreme Court of the country is also on the payroll of drug dealers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":22,"featured_media":184768,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[3,1,2375],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-203173","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-colombotelegraph","category-news","category-stories"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.3 -
