{"id":237631,"date":"2024-07-10T05:12:13","date_gmt":"2024-07-09T23:42:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?p=237631"},"modified":"2024-07-16T21:18:12","modified_gmt":"2024-07-16T15:48:12","slug":"amateur-poem-on-human-rights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/amateur-poem-on-human-rights\/","title":{"rendered":"Amateur Poem On Human Rights?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p2\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><b>By <a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Laksiri+Fernando\">Laksiri Fernando<\/a> &#8211;<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Nearly eight decades ago<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">UN declared universal human rights<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">But do we have them?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">In Palestine, people die and suffer<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">In Ukraine, people die and suffer<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">There are many other places<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">In our own country, people suffer<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">If not die<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Who is responsible?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">In Palestine,<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">US is behind Israel<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">In Ukraine,<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Russia is directly the culprit<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">In our country,<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Many leaders and parties are responsible<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">UDHR says,<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">All human beings<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Are born free and equal<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">In what?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">In dignity and rights<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Is this correct?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Not really<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Do we have a role to play<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Yes, absolutely<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">UDHR says,<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">We are endowed with reason<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">And conscience<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Do we know about it?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">If not, think about it<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">UDHR also says,<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">We should act towards one another<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">In a spirit of brotherhood<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Do we do that?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">If not, start today<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Rulers should be changed<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">We also should change<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Let us look forward<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">To a system of rights and responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">What is this UDHR?<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">It is the Universal Declaration of<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Human Rights<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":26,"featured_media":237633,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[3,46,8,62],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-237631","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-colombotelegraph","category-constitutional-reforms","category-editorial","category-poems"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.3 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Amateur Poem On Human Rights?
