It is with sadness and incredulity that I peeped into the morning newspapers from above. Since I will not be able to meet you deep down below anytime, I need to ask you to hark back to January 8th, 2009.<\/p>\n

Recall my epitaph?<\/p>\n

Well then,<\/p>\n

I consider it pretty rich coming from you, if the article published in The Morning<\/em> of 24th October 2026 is true.<\/p>\n

I quote,<\/p>\n

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa<\/a><\/span> has urged his son, SLPP MP Namal Rajapaksa<\/a><\/span>, to trust the judiciary and refrain from political revenge, in a letter written while Namal remains in remand custody.<\/p>\n

Recalling his own experience in politics, Mahinda advised his son not to hold children responsible for their parents\u2019 actions and not to target people who received employment opportunities under his administration. (unquote)<\/p>\n

The wheel has turned, a full circle you now feel the heat. I guess it matters nowt to you how my parents and siblings felt on the fateful day in 2009. I would remind you that there are scores of parents who felt the same during your and your brother’s regime. Ekneligoda, Wasim Thajudeen, Keith Noyahr, Upali Tennekoon, and do not forget the many who suffered the same fate in the north and east.<\/p>\n

Many say it is more painful to live and suffer. I need to ask you for an answer to that question. You have not done a single day’s work other than being a politician. We know how much that earns. That is if one is honest. Your children too, have not done so. I do not consider your son’s stint in the Navy, as it is being questioned. Your wife, well, she was never employed
\neither. So, where does the wealth come from?<\/p>\n

Politics is a dirty game, you said to me. I now understand what you meant. You meant it was for the people. You are now……..people.<\/p>\n

It is now right for you to repent and ask for forgiveness from your maker. I shudder to see you struggling, even in the evening of your life, to place your son on the throne. Thanha. Nothing but Thanha.<\/p>\n

Ides of March is nigh. Hark back to the period when you and your despicable brother ruled the roost. How many journalists died? How many disappeared? How many were tortured? It has stopped now that you and your brother are not in power. Do you ever reflect on your past?<\/p>\n

There are lessons to be learnt as to being a civilised human being. You and your extended family paid scant respect towards civility. Naturally, your children too followed in your footsteps. One wishes to be the President of the country simply by virtue of being a son. One was thrust into a commissioned position in the Navy and sent overseas for training in double quick time, despite not having the required qualifications for entry. The youngest hallucinates
\nthat he is a rocket scientist. Excuse me?? You were responsible for that charade.<\/p>\n

The people of Sri Lanka are surely but steadily learning that education is the key to a better living. Parents have learnt not to depend on politicians anymore. Children in rural schools are learning English. They do not wish to become a daily- wage earning worker, or to follow in their father’s footsteps.<\/p>\n

Let the law take its course. Yes, the law states that one is considered innocent until proven guilty. Considering the trust placed by the people in hoisting you to the highest office of our Nation, it would be wise if your family proved their innocence.<\/p>\n

I dare say that you would not be charged in court. You and I know the reason. Why stir a bee nest if preventing your family from plundering the country in the future is the intention?<\/p>\n

Rest Mahinda, rest. Be in Peace. In Peace. Rest Gota, rest. Be in Peace.
