In fact, we never deported him. He wanted to leave the country. He could have stayed back after paying the fine but he decided to leave the country.\u201d Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa told <em>The Sunday Island<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After returning to Australia, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Premakumar+Gunaratnam&amp;x=14&amp;y=3\">Premakumar Gunaratnam<\/a><\/span> alleged that he was handcuffed, blindfolded and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/gunaratnam-claims-sri-lankan-agents-sexually-tortured-him-sydney-morning-herald\/\">physically and sexually tortured<\/a><\/span> during his three day detention. The Defence Secretary told <em>The Sunday Island<\/em> that the police recorded Noel Mudalige\u2019s statement in the presence of Australian HC Mudie at the CCD headquarters, at Dematagoda.
