href=\"http:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/french-tourists-guilty-in-sri-lanka-over-buddha-photos\/\">jail terms to three French tourists<\/a><\/span> for wounding the religious feelings of Buddhists by taking pictures deemed insulting.\u00a0The pictures show the travellers posing with Buddha statues and pretending to kiss one of them.\u00a0British Government has updated it travel advisory warning to say\u00a0\u201cYou should avoid posing for\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/updated-uk-travel-warning-no-photographs-in-front-of-buddha-statues\/\">photographs standing in front of a statue of Buddha<\/a><\/span>.\u00a0The mistreatment of Buddhist images and artefacts is a serious offence and tourists have been convicted for posing for such photos.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Here are some pictures of \u00a0kissing religious statues
