As previously\u00a0disclosed several lawyers, senior and junior, \u00a0have come under\u00a0threats. Series of incidents of surveillance on the lawyers were also\u00a0reported in Colombo as well as outside.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_75129\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/lawyers-collective-wants-harassment-of-lawyers-immediately-stopped\/lakshan-dias\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-75129\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-75129\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-75129\" title=\"Lakshan Dias\" src=\"http:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Lakshan-Dias-300x295.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"295\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Lakshan-Dias-300x295.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Lakshan-Dias-50x50.jpg 50w, https:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Lakshan-Dias.jpg 488w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-75129\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lakshan Dias<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Mr. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/?s=Lakshan+Dias&amp;x=9&amp;y=6\">Lakshan Dias<\/a><\/span> a well known human rights lawyer and activist who was a leading figure in the anti- impeachment activities has come under\u00a0strict surveillance making his life \u00a0vulnerable for physical attacks.\u00a0He had also \u00a0been followed by a white van, \u00a0 which incident has been\u00a0reported to the Moratuwa Police on 25th February 2013, under reference\u00a0CIB-1- 232\/442.<\/p>\n<p>We remind the Government of its constitutional duty to protect and\u00a0respect \u00a0the citizen&#8217;s right to dissent and to \u00a0engage in critical\u00a0governance activities.
