&#8211; DIG Vass Threatened CID"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cI am a murderer, you all are not able to keep me inside forever Shani,\u00a0when I am out, see what I will do to you all\u201d\u00a0DIG\u00a0Western Province (North)\u00a0Vass Gunawardena had threatened the Criminal Investigation Department\u00a0team\u00a0led by ASP Shani Abeysekara.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_91502\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/index.php\/i-am-a-murderer-see-what-i-will-do-to-you-all-dig-vass-threatened-cid\/vass-gunawardena\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-91502\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-91502\" class=\"size-full wp-image-91502\" title=\"Vass Gunawardena\" src=\"http:\/\/www.colombotelegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Vass-Gunawardena.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"140\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-91502\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">DIG Vass Gunawardena<\/p><\/div>\n<p>DIG \u00a0Vass Gunawardena was arrested on June 10 and who is now under detention orders.<\/p>\n<p>The Colombo Additional Magistrate Mohammed Sahabdeen was informed yesterday by the CID regarding the threat when producing a report on the progress of the investigation into the killing of businessman Mohamed\u00a0Shyam Huzamdeen.\u00a0ASP Shani Abeysekara \u00a0informed Court that the statement of the suspect DIG has posed a threat to the lives of the officials who are investigating the DIG\u2018s criminal activities and his involvement in the murder of the millionaire businessman, as well as their families.<\/p>\n<p>Following investigations conducted into the incident, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on June 06 arrested Sub-Inspector Lakmini Bamunusinghe, attached to the office of the DIG Western Province (North), along with three Police Constables (PCs) serving in the DIG\u2019s special unit.<\/p>\n<p>Upon interrogating the arrested police officers, the CID uncovered information regarding the DIG\u2019s alleged involvement in the businessman\u2019s murder .<\/p>\n<p>According to the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailynews.lk\/2013\/06\/14\/sec01.asp\">state run Daily News<\/a><\/span>\u00a0the CID filing a B report before Additional Magistrate \u00a0Shaheed yesterday said suspect Chutta had told them that DIG Vaas Gunawardena was allegedly given Rs. one million out of Rs. 30 million agreed in the contract to kill business tycoon Mohomed Siyam.<\/p>\n<p>Chutta was arrested and Rs. 400,000 was recovered from his possession.<\/p>\n<p>DIG Vaas Gunawardena when arrested admitted that he was a killer (Mama mini maruwek).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":22,"featured_media":91502,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[3,2187,1,6969,2375],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-91501","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-colombotelegraph","category-most-popular","category-news","category-popular-stories","category-stories"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.3 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>&#039;I Am A Murderer, See What I Will Do To You All&#039;
