Lasantha Murder Not Solved; Conspiracy To Assassinate Sirisena Changes Government

By Suranimala Umagiliya

President Maithripala Sirisena must have bats in his belfry whilst former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and his infamous brother the former Secretary of Defence Gotabaya Rajapaksa are strutting about oblivious to the carnage left in their wake. Three of them yet dream of continued power at the highest echelons, as if leading Sri Lanka is their divine right.

On 12 January 2009, a short distance away from the entrance to the Borella General Cemetery

Current President created havoc when he sacked Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, prorogued parliament, and then dissolved only to be thwarted by a resilient Supreme Court. The defining reason for such action trotted out by President Sirisena was a conspiracy to assassinate him, leaked by an informant best described as possessing a low level of cunning which he mistook for a high level of intelligence. He is now known to be backed by a dubious past, may even have contrived this as part of a master plan. Best laid plans of a President and mice fortunately went awry.

If President Sirisena believed that there was an attempt at his life and his resultant action to sack a Prime Minister, a Cabinet of Ministers and dissolve parliament was justified, it poses more questions than one. Let us assume if indeed there was such a conspiracy to assassinate him and the action he took was justified, however skewed it may sound. Can any sane person accept his covering up (not a conspiracy, not an attempt) a murder most foul? If a DIG is remanded as part of such investigation (attempt on his life) why are not the Army Intelligence personnel involved in the murder of Lasantha Wickrematunge, assault and torture of Keith Noyahr and the assault on Upali Tennekoon remanded? Why is the former IGP Jayantha Wickremaratne not remanded for meddling with the evidence into Lasantha Wickrematunge’s murder?

Evidence led into the murder of Lasantha Wickrematunge at the Mt Lavinia Magistrate’s Court reveals that it was a rogue Army Intelligence Unit housed at the former Tripoli Market who carried out the murder as well as the attacks on journalists. This unit was under Major Gen. Amal Karunasekera and operationally under Major Prabath Bulathwatte. Field Marshall Sarath Fonseka, who was the sitting Army Commander at the time when these dastardly crimes took place has made a statement to the Police that this unit was directly under Gotabaya Rajapaksa via Retd Maj Gen. Kapila Hendavitharne himself, the former Intel Chief.

President Maithripala Sirisena must be able to sift the wheat from the chaff. The President and the Army Commander will do well to shed those who have shamed them by resorting to extra judicial killing, torture and assault to safeguard the honour of the rest. The tag “War Hero” will forever be tainted if the present tendency to cover up such misdeeds due to misguided thinking that it is politically harmful remains. If that is the thinking of the majority of Sinhala/Buddhists, the enlightened one’s preaching has been sorely misunderstood.

Be that as it may, Mahinda Rajapaksa and Gotabaya Rajapaksa have yet to retire in shame. They entertain serious thoughts of a return to an extended reign. If a human being has no “lajja” he/she will have no respect for morals, the law or right to life of another. The two brothers must know that the finger pointed at them when Sri Lanka was named and shamed as the worst country to practice journalism. Gotabaya drunk with power, drove the last nail in his infamous interview with the BBC and Hard Talk when in a show of arrogance he snorted “Who is Lasantha?”

Ten years have drifted with none indicted for the murder of Lasantha. There was speculation that Ranil did not wish to see the Rajapaksa duo taken to task as it was to his advantage to play them against a divided SLFP vote bank. That sentiment does not hold any more. The last Provincial Council election results have effectively cancelled such eventuality. Presently President Sirisena has grandiose ideas of contesting the top job once more. This time with his arch rival at the last hustings now turned Ace of Trumps. No “lajja”.

There seem to be a semblance of hope amidst the doom and gloom. The independent Commissions have proven themselves. The people rebelled against Sirisena- Rajapaksa back door shenanigans. The UNP has been given a new lease not due to a great showing at governance but due to fortuitous circumstances. Therefore Ranil will do well to brush aside Sirisena’s protestations and get the investigators to complete the job. This is not to save his future but to make use of the current mood of the people to do the right thing. Lasantha murder, Thajudeen murder, Murder of Journalists in the North, Keith Noyahr abduction, torture and assault, Upali Tennekoon assault must be solved and perpetrators brought to book. The discovery of human remains in Mannar CWE site is another blot on the character of our nation. Evidence is unfolding that this may not be a grave yard for the dear departed.

Let us remember the journalists who laid their lives for us to enjoy a life with such rights that are enshrined in our Constitution. Lasantha and other journalists who suffered such fate should not have died in vain. Let us name and shame those who gave orders to kill journalists. Time long gone must not allow them to forget their dastardly deeds. Let other journalists not forget that too. Let us commemorate such fallen heroes together with the real war heroes. Let us remind Mahinda and Gotabaya that it was during their tenure such deeds were done. Oh, but how could we forget the lengthy list of inhuman activity of such time in our country.

Lasantha was named as a “World Press Freedom Hero”.

Let us continue to remember him.

Let Lasantha be at peace.

Will you now go back to 5th April 1971 and see how the concept of impunity developed into such extent no one in this island save. Is there any clue in the way Daily Mirror was heavily censored by the weeping widow and her merry men? Its like addiction, every government made sure intensity of censorship alone insufficient against democracy, therefore meet the democratic voices head on, silence it by silencing those who had something to warn the people.

Mahindawamsa is only an incidental part of long history.

The armed forces have perpetual existence. Janaka Perera was recruited in 1966 and saw action in 1971. He later commanded Gota, Fonseka, ………… during 1987/90 period, then Fonseka and Gota played a key role committing war crimes left right and centre during the war. There are hundred of thousands of men who were under their command, knowing some how the state, politicians, governments, especially those so called nationalist, … and the people will protect them from war crime and crime against humanity charges.

Remember how Rohana Wijeweera was captured, tortured and burned alive.

The Lasantha assassination is only one in a series of many deaths.
Lasantha’s death should be reminded everyday in order to keep issue of impunity focussed.

If the Rajapaksas along with all those protecting them and obstructing justice are not put on trial for treason and handed over to the International Criminal Courts in the Hage they will lead our country into further chaos and de stability and possibly conflict with the international community leading to international troops on the ground.

Clearly our country is incapable/ unwilling to deal with them hence they still roam free while the bond scam suspects were in jail for 11 months with no bail!

Gota Rajapaksa didn’t spend one day in jail why!?

Gotabaya Rajapaksa threated to execute Sarath Fonseka, the army commander who delivered victory over the LTTE for Treason…

Gotabaya Rajapaksa responded angrily to the prospect of Fonseka giving evidence. “He can’t do that. He was the commander!” Rajapaksa said. “That’s a treason. We will hang him if he does that. I’m telling you! … How can he betray the country? He is a liar, liar, liar.”

Remember this side of the Rajapaksas?

Fonseka also threaten Mahindawamsa clan on the eve of presidential elections in 2010. He warned if he won the elections he would drag the entire Mahindawamsa all the way to Galle Face Green. Why?
The point is crooks and criminals use Buddhism, nationalism, patriotism, pride of wearing uniform, ………………… hide their sadistic intent and practices.

Let us not discuss who won the war.
The war was won by VP for Mahinda with a lot of support from Hindia.

4 years passed since we brought SIRISENA as the Prez for a good governance. We never expected him to hang on with PARTY DEVELOPMENT or his POWER INTOXICATION. On the top of our pledgest, what lied was – serving justice to all victimized families of the HIGH crimes. Is there any worst crimes than killing on broad day light ?
      .
On that list, Lasantha#, Ekanaligoda and Thadjudeen were bolded as no others. All these should not have been erased in the memory of elected president WHO has now been the minister of defence and law and order.
      :
So my MILLION DOLLAR question to you guys – do you have read or listen anywhere, what President may have uttered about these MURDER -INVESTIGATIONs ?.
      :
If the aforementioned main MURDER cases are out of investigations, there should be an explanation as to why they get further delayed ?: If the pressure put by Prince Charles on the Tangalle British murder WORKED, why cant AMERICANS put the pressure on LANKEN president on this DAY LIGHT MURDERs that according to many are to have been perpetrated by Gotabaya Rajapakshe.
And that Thadudeen murder is alledged to have been committed by NAMAL/YOSHITA or SHIRANTHI Rajakshe ?.
      .
If INVESTIGATIONS based on above murders are delayed, AS TO why they are subjected to delay that way ? HOW FAR THE INVESTIGATIONS ARE GONE SOFAR ?
All these the victimized families and this nation SHOULD be made aware. Longer they are put in a situation like TORMENTS OF TANTALUS – the CURSE would be indefinite.

        @A concerned Sinhalaya
Americans likes to bargain with a criminal. As long as they’re involved in world affairs ,this is how they solve criminals activities.
Always a Plea Bargain is a possibility. On whose favour I wonder!!

That’s exactly is happening with Jaliya Wifkremasinghe, who has been ordered to spill all the beans of Rajapakshes shady businesses including the war crimes.
Who knows ? Rowdy Goata too may have been on their PLEA BARGAIN conditions, so he walks around breathing fresh air , then scooting off to USA on beck and call.
        What a life??? Chikkeeeeee!!

          My Dear Analayst@,
          .
I keep me asking why JVPrs or any other party men have not yet organised a demonstration in front of the US High commission in Colombo ?.
          .
JVPrs always take a lead in any kind of protests, but regarding above mentioned murders, they seem to be not paying WHOLEHEARTED efforts. May also be possible, they may feel about their atrocities in 89 insurgency ?.
          .
Both Gota and Basil are US citizens. I am living in Europe, I know if you are CITIZENs of US and EU, whatever you perpetrate on other soils (here in SL) are closely screened by the country of your citizenshp belongs to. Meaning, if a demonstrations would be held against GOTA regarding loads of allegations levelled at him, undoubtedly, americans will have to involve in investigations promply.
          :
I wonder why LAL Wickramathunga (brother of the murdered Lasantha W) not having organized and kind of PUBLIC demos on this DAY light murder until today ?
          .
Yes, they are for sure on their PLEA bargain conditions.
          .
I sometimes feel to travel to the US and collect FACTs regarding how much weath these buggers got accumulated over the years. Those are the funds of our poor tax payers. Nothing seems to work against these BUGGERs is becoming like a metastasized cancer today (incurable cancer).

I thought it was only dumb politicians who blamed the NGOs, CIA, Western Powers, etc. etc. for all the ills of the country but it seems there are fantasists with their own conspiracy theories as well who believe in this rubbish.

In the eyes of the world, SL has a lot of human rights abuses to answer for & that is not limited to Tamils during the war. Instead of moving forward with ‘truth & reconciliation’ efforts similar to Mandela & Desmond Tutu in south Africa, Rajapakse & Sirisena played to the gallery with their tough talk on ‘foreign intervention’. If there are still people believing in a righteous regime of the Rajapakses (& Sirisena), they are living in denial in cloud cuckoo land.

Murder is the highest crime, but RAJAPAKSHE would be the ones to have committed it – they have every right to escape from the charges.

The name Lasantha Wickrematunge will always be etched in our hearts. He was dearly loved by all right thinking Sri Lankans.

We saw RETRIBUTION on January 9th 2015 exactly six years to the date when the mighty Jarapakses were toppled from their “invincible” (that is what they and their supporters thought) pedestal that they were riding high.

The date January 9th is therefore very significant in our country’s history.

RETRIBUTION WILL COME. The dhamma speaks loud about KARMA, and that would dawn on all those who physically killed him and ALL THOSE who ordered his killing.

We may not know exactly what has happened to the actual killers and what their present condition in life is BUT all the others who stand stark naked accused of his killing, RETRIBUTION will come.

I read with interest of a recent head injury to a member of this clan, I wonder whether this is just a warning of the tidings to come.

      ONLY TIME WILL TELL…………

There were many journalists those who worked for the INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY that became unhappy because Mahinda Rajapakse did not listen to them. IT is the same Internatioal community this time tried their bst to protect the BOMD SCAM THIEVES AND THEY HAVE WON THIS TIME. Then only we could confirm that the ministry of law and order and basl and affiliated are paid by some one. Now all those WORLD or INTERNATIONAL or VISHVAMITHRA journalists work for the same money. MAHINDA RAJAPAKSE HAS PROVED that he was correct. He got rid of shirani Banranaike for a reason. He got rid of certain journalists at the PEAK TIME OF THE WAR, THAT IS CERTAINLY FAIR GAME. BUILD A CHURCH FOR ALL THOSE Lasantha, Keyth Noyahar and the gang. I think the govt knows they all worked for foreign spy agencies. Their LTTE game is defeated and now this CRAP CONSTITUTION which made the SPEAKER, PM, lEGISLATURE and SUPREME courts above the peoples’ wishes.

Do you mean sending critics to an early grave, like in Saudi Arabia & other countries governed by despots & dictators is ‘fair game’? A person can be tried for treachery but only a court of law can pass a verdict. No body in a democracy has the right to be the judge & the executioner. Only god (if you believe in god) has the right to take a life. I feel sorry for narrow minded ‘patriots’ like you & if the majority in SL believe in that crap, SL deserves to be in the shit.

“Lasantha Murder Not Solved” CT screams. So what? How many other unsolved murders are there in the law books of Sri Lanka? Don’t they matter?

CT allocating all this space to an insignificant man who was killed 10 years ago is an outrage that needs to be explained by CT, a declining website, to its more balanced readers.

Firstly, Lasantha did not have any formal journalistic qualifications or experience and had an uncontrollably loud mouth (that finally killed him). That should not be mistaken for journalistic experience.
    =
In personal life, He abandoned his family and went for a later-year model with connections to Ranil Wickremesinghe (through 5th Lane). He was promoted by the Narahenpita evangelical mafia for their own interests. He never disclosed his affiliations with this evangelical mafia, and funded his press at Katukurunduwatta. It is public knowledge that he had a meeting at the Indian HC the night before his death. (Read Uvindu Kurukulasuriya’s article on CT about his wife’s admission that he was not killed for journaliwm related issues) . The man was a spy. Simply, he was no hero or martyr.

CT or anyone else trying to make a hero out of this dead, corrupt fool is not going to work, especially after the debacle of the yahapalana that used his death.

      Dear Dear Dinali Samarasinghe,
Assume that yourself murdered by your friend or your spouse, your children, it is no matter for us because it is no matter for you. Based on your comments I strongly believe there should be some relationship to you in this murder whether it could be you or some one else did it for you or from the order from Top level politician. Lasntha may be a insignificant man but the murderer is a significant man and he is in power and he is not elected to carry out murders.

Lasantha was named as a “World Press Freedom Hero” Fine. Then what about others who fought for the same purpose?
What about Richard de Soyza? He was murdered by UNP thugs under Premadasa and that’s why he (Premadasa) too faced a similar death. Nails were driven through Soyza’s skull and this beloved journalist (not like Lasantha who was not a ‘loved journalist in SL) was taken by helicopter and thrown out to the ocean. If people did not find his dead body on the shore the UNP big shots would have washed their hands and Richard would have been added to the list of missing journalists. Does CT write even a few words on these people killed during other times. Why only Lasantha?
He should be commemorated; there is no question about the articles written by him, his wife, daughters, step daughters, second wife or even concubines, but others too should be given a similar publicity! The more you isolate him (without others) on this day, the better it is for the unidentified murderers to justify what they did, since Sri Lankans know that ‘this singled out man might have been a dubious character rather than a genuine journalist’ just like Dinali has noted.

Dear Dinali, Fully agree with your sentiments, the observations you have made and questions you ask.

Attempts to keep the Lasantha Wickramatunga affair alive is a classic ‘overkill’ (pardon the pun), especially because the very same people who continue to cry for him are honouring and worshiping his killer who is a political disaster for this country.

Your cousin and Frederica Jansz (no journalists) are maintaining their silence because they must have understood the truth and reality of the man and his murder. This attempt to ‘canonise’ LW should stop. He was an evangelical anyway.

“Lasantha Murder Not Solved” CT screams. So what? How many other unsolved murders are there in the law books of Sri Lanka? Don’t they matter?”

      Good question.
      Very wise question.
      A philosophical question
Or is it a spiritual one?

However any unnatural death should be accounted for and be worrying.
If you are not worrying for the unnatural death of a person, please let others mourn and worry at the same time.

Whether one is qualified journalist or not his ability would have been decided by the readership. What has it got to do his personal life?

“It is public knowledge that he had a meeting at the Indian HC the night before his death.”

Did you imply the Hindians killed him with delayed action exploding bullets? That must be interesting.
Hindians have other sources of intelligence, presently serving members of armed forces, politicians, academics, ………………. ministers, …
      So what?

The Sunday Leader was a great newspaper, it needed real guts and investigative skills to write what he wrote.

  • 14
    1

It’s an open secret to the entire plant, well and clearly, even to a small kid, put it simply, who killed Lasantha is Gota to stop him from giving evidence in the courts regarding the Mig case and to silence him for good. Who killed Thajudeen is MR’s son Yoasitha, wife Siranthi and the family using Gota uncles goons from the forces, owing to an affair with a girl. Same way, in their time, all the scores of journalists, political killings and all other killings, using their killer squads in the forces, were orderd by the top in MR administration – MR, Gota etc. Aftet the end of the war, they had feelings that the Rajapaksas were going to be in power forever and for generations to come, and that blinded all their actions and gave them open licence to do whatever they felt and wished for, but the one above determined other wise. However much Sirisena is in bed with them, they know the nozze is tightening on them. Hence, all these actions to grab power by any means to escape from these cases. Sirisena came to power using the dead bodies of all these people to prosecut the perpetrators but the greed and taste of power overtook him, and he is dancing with them in the hope of prolonging his stay in power.

    • 9
      0

      Mary,

Yes. Sirisena knows. Ranil knows. Retaining and keeping power is more important than law and justice.

So, Lasantha, Thagudeen, and the corruptions, and other national issues are secondary to the self-interest issues. There are three power centers. The president, the parliament and the Supreme Court. Theee are vying for it, while there is space for only two.

Sirisena wants to be one if the two. So, replace Ranil with Mahinda is all right, provided it assures him a second term. For Mahinda, all his troubles, all the crimes and stealings, will be behind. Why is the Lasantha, Rgagudeen and the numerious cases not solved? Because it is in the best interests of Sirisena and Ranil.

What did they promise? They delivered only partially. So, unless, a new regime is brought to power, sans Sirisena, Ranil and Mahinda, Lasantha, Thagudeen and other cases will not be solved.

May Lasantha, Thagudeen and the numerous others who are victims, Rest In Peace.

The Lasantha is not important for majority People of Sri Lankan? That has gone to past ,no need to re-read life of L….W ? What he did for our civilization by L.W as journalist ? Nothing at all. Well Leave this man for ever!.. rest in the peace.? LW has not created or contributions for ours civilization at any corner by even misshapes of his journalism @ % $$$ !

Unless life time is given to Namal Kumara, there won’t be any justice in Lankawe. All knows that the SC verdict on parliament dissolution is not a real trend of Sinhala Jury only Lankawe justice system. Everybody knows that was a drama the Trio- (Ranil, Old King, and New King) acted to pull wool on the eyes of the world.

So Lasantha’s case is very important acid test of the honesty of the Ranil’s UNP government. If a high profile case like Lasantha is not moving, common man should not thinking to step on any Lankawe court system. The Royal Family murderers openly display an attitude of “We will kill more, The People are with us; what can you do about it?”

Lasantha’s case is not washed with LTTE like Eknaligoda’s case. If Lasantha case is not investigated, Tamils should forget about Appe Aanduwa investigating the War Crime. They should drop out the more than 45 Tamil journalists’ cases, pending. Even yesterday the Madu police manhandled a Tamil journalist when he went to investigate about a rowdy group from Anuradhapura , who was demanding Kapam(Racketeers extorting protection money) from innocent villagers.

If his case is finished only Lasantha can rest in peace. If Lasantha is not resting, no doubt the murderers are not going to be in peace. We just saying RIP at anniversaries for formality will do nothing to his soul unless the government investigate his case and bring the truth out.

    Until that happen, Lasantha RIP.

Unafraid and Unbowed was Lasanthas Motto, notwithstanding the several attempts at Intimidation and attempted Murder in his long career as a Journalist.
Lesser men would have caved in at the first attempt.
On the other hand was it wise to have such a motto in the political culture that we have had and continue to have in this country?
But,perhaps Lasantha was different and eventually had to pay the supreme price.

Monika, they couldn’t find a picture of Richard de Zoysa. They have forgotten how the UNP treated journalists.

    Dear Sir,

I am dedicated to reading the erudite and virulent articles followed by articles and comments made in respect of, by a highly intelligent readership of CT who are equally responsive but unfortunately it all appear to me like the barking of dogs at the sight of the full blown moon. Like they say similar to opening a bottle of fizzy (soda) water. I have asked myself the question whether I am wasting my time.

Suranimala you are another ray of hope for Journalist who stand for what is right. Writers like you and Grusha are our voices. Thank You so much. Please keep writing. I see the sign (though premature) of “SPRING”. First it was the judiciary and now it is media, which are being resuscitated back to life. Still a long way to go.And we readers do have our own responsibility and role to play .(shunning and avoidance will not change the consequence). Head on expose the proxies, pseudos, fakes, frauds, people on pay roll, racist, bigots ,corrupt and criminals.

Is this the only murder case not solved in this country? It is pretty obvious why this White Media is bringing this up again and again. To be fair for all the families whose loved ones have been murdered, including those who were murdered by LTTE terrorists should be punished. Even those murderers hiding in ‘White Paradises’ should be tracked down and punished. Unfortunately, some of the LTTE murderes are running around scot free. They should not be pardoned in the name of reconciliation.

Eagle Eye; Ugly Eye, my dream is you too be punished the way criminals should face it..since you are the catalysators of those criminals.
      :
If your son, daughter wife or anyone else would have been murdered down on broad day light, would your behaviour remain as it is now ?
      .
Why you seniors of this country behave as if your genitals were robbed out by Rascals Rajapakshes ?.
      :
Why you guys being septagenarians yet fail to sense it that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, we have to stand against the kind of brutatlities regardless of the status of the COLD BLOODED MURDERS. Why you guys have no hearts towards REAL investigations, based on prevailing laws ? Law should be equal to me sinhalaya, nothern tamils and eastern muslims regardless of our race, religion or whatever title/staus we own.
      .
Just becausae his FIRST terms destined the elemination of TERROR, allowing him reaping harvest of the 30 long year BRUTAL war, against own folks within folks, why should you guys give more powers to those men, given that they do all harm to the very same nation in the post war scenario ? We shoudl have some respect, but why NOT treat them as CRIMINALS if they provably behave so ? :
      :
Alone lately held HIGH criminal activities in and out of COUNTRY so noble institution, Parliament, – were all acts fo Rajapakshes. If notfrom them who were behind them ? To that alone the bugger et all should be hung in GALLE face green or not ? Then only we can be happy to have served the JUSTICE we expected from SIRISENA or not ?

In retrospect, Prez My3 has done nothing but just tried to score from what UNP govt did.. But the slogans based on LASATHA, Ekanaligoda and Thadjudeen were on ON their campaign placards. Most of the victimzed families stay in the same mode as had been prior to 2015.
    :
Thadjudeen case was not further investigated, according to rumours, FORMER first lady Shranthi Rajapakshe would commit suicide, according to reliable sources. Why people should give a damn even if the kind of highly abusive WOMEN would do ? They have abused the state funds and assets for their SUKA WIHARANAYA.. as no other leaders did.
    :
Sirisena is a a cold blooded person, and always had a program to stand against UNPrs. Then the question arises as to why he himself joined hand to topple Mr Medamulana’s govt ? .
    .
If anything acheived in the terms of EXTERNAL affairs after becoming Prez, the credit should go to UNP govt. How could SIRISENA who is now known as the most unlernt person, very often getting misled by every single discussions made by previous cabinet ?. If he coudl not understand what was being discussed within the cabinet, he should better concentrate himself on the SINHALA versions. And he should not have forgotten that he is the president. for whom 62 lacks of people voted him to power. Just having slept all along – perhaps to the manner a sloth in AMAZONA jungle would do, but to attack today, that PM RW also abused his powers going beyond the margins, is just silly excuses of a NITWIT.

Lasantha Murder Not Solved; Conspiracy To Assassinate Sirisena Changes Government

Suranimala Umagiliya may not to say that the rumours of a conspiracy to assassinate MS changed the government. The desired change would have seen RW routed, in prison sharing a cell with SF. Some serendipitous events averted this. We have almost the pre 26 October government rearranged.
    .
Lasantha murder is the most solved unsolved mystery.
The case will stay as is where is till someone proves that Lasantha shot himself.
It is like the burning of Jaffna Library in 1981. Remember retired DIG Edward Gunewardene’s (EG) book ‘Memorable tidbits and the burning of the Jaffna library’ released in 2013. The EG claimed that it was an inside job.
Are we not lucky that we had, and have, policemen of the EG-ilk guarding us!

I remember the day when I met him at a super market pushing a trolley and requested him to look after his security although I did not know him personally. I sensed the threat. He returned a smile still I remember. Every time I see his name in the papers I shed a tear for him which.

The picture above was taken on the 12th January 2009 with smart young men in white shirts carrying the Coffin of Lasantha’s with clenched Fists saluting in Solidarity to fight against the EVIL!!
    This is my analysis!!
Ten years have gone past , THE MURDERERS ARE STILL WALKING FREELY BREATHING FRESH AIR. HOW? How CT?? Where are these young men ?? Are they not fighting against the Evils anymore?? Have they changed sides and got rich as well. ???
Who has been Protecting the Murderers?? 10 long years have gone past , so too the atrocities and Fake war against the CITIZENS OF SRILANKA ( Tamils) . The murderers have gone ultra rich . The country and its poor people have gone Ultra Poorer.
    What’s wrong??
These young men’s clenched fist and the crying of the poor and vulnerable have gone Unnoticed.
The Para medias are only publishing LIES WITH WINDOW DRESSINGS.
THE village idiots are believing the LIES from propaganda news only nothing else and gets back to their lives of eating Punnak.
In this Wonder of Asia the Politicians and their Cronies Swindled the State wealth and living happily.!!!
No devolopements, nothing but Talk and back biting.
Go on fools destroying my Country …….Protecting the Murderers and Thieves.

Singapore received independent diring 1965. Last hundred of years many Tamils went there as a teachers, postmasters, station masters, engineers but they are ranking number one education but we built the Singapore and we ranking the bottom and beggars because we have low IQ. We concern more about protecting religion than protecting people.

May Lasantha’s soul continue to rest in peace. His contribution to just journalism was tremendous. His killers are too well known to be brought to justice. Bensen

Why there are hundreds of articles on this ? One is not enough ? He was not much of a journalist anyway. Even his news paper company is bankrupt now. So much for their “investigative journalism”.

It is difficult for me to agree that the story of the plot to kill MY3 obscured the murder of Lasantha and other muzzling of journalists. Firstly, the story of the plot to kill MY3 came into being this side of six months and the story of Lasantha was there. The real reason for this subduing is there is no progress reported officially of these investigations anywhere. If we had some kind of a Grand Jury system, as is practised in the US, something may have come out. What we now have is just snippets of stories. MY3 found that investigations on the Bond Scam was tardy and appointed a Commission of Inquiry where many things which were hidden came out. So what is the difficulty in following that path taking the Lasantha case for starters.

“why are not the Army Intelligence personnel involved in the murder of Lasantha Wickrematunge, assault and torture of Keith Noyahr and the assault on Upali Tennekoon remanded? “

someone correct me if i’am wrong but these chaps were remanded for nearly 2 years, but not taken to court to face their charges so they had to be bailed.Same thing happened for aloysious too and the courts gave him bail because magistrate said he cannot be remanded indefinitely.

namal Kumara is a lair. He is an army deserter, who worked for avant gaurd the infamous gotas co. First he told that he had some information and gave it to the CID. But subsequently he told that he erased most of it out of fear (? of whom) Then the CID told the voices cannot be identiifed and needed expert input fro abroad. Then the second report said it was the voice of DIG but contents not known, Then they send it to retrieve the erased section. Now they say it was retrieved. But no contents have been disclosed. This sirisenas fellow naml kumar was a police informant infidelity he was able to record DIGs voice that doesnot make the DIG guilty. If there is any truth release the contents. Why is sirisena hiding this. Naml kumara fellow is crook no1. Just before sirisenars infamous cort case this fellow told a press conference that he is going to release anew evidence just a day before the court case which slapped on the face of sirisena. but he did not, then he said he wants to join SLPP , I heard him saying that he did not have the money to contest but he is good at pasting posters. Is this the type of character this sirisena is believing to dissolve a government and destroy the economy.
