Rajapaksa Apologists & The Impending Implosion Of The Cabal

By Vishwamithra

“When a political organization loses contact with its origin, it declines and risks implosion.” ~Robert Esposito

Some writers whose political insensitivities and bare naiveté have been mistaken for objective analysis are still defending the indefensible atrocities of the Rajapaksa era. Their insensitivities have taken them from being mere Rajapaksa supporters to the fringe politics of post-Independent Sri Lanka. Ceylon, as it was called then, has undergone unrecognizable changes; she has embraced nihilist aspects of political evolution; ethnic violence has erupted multiple times and led to a thirty-year old war that ended in the decimation of a terrorist army that was never seen in Ceylon in the last half of the millennium. That war has enlarged the gulf between the two peoples. Tamils are being perceived as the ‘enemy’ of the glorious past of Sinhalese Buddhists, as enunciated in the Great Chronicle (Mahawansa).

The peak of this evolutionary thought, as promulgated by the modern day patriots of the land, the race and the faith, spearheaded by an insane but utterly focused movement led by saffron-garbed political gangsters, was in the Rajapaksa era: from 2005 to 2104. During this maddeningly chaotic period, these pundits and Chinthanaya demagogues would most conveniently forget to write about or even make a cursory mention on the alleged exchange of huge amounts of cash between the candidate Rajapaksa and Prabhakaran, the leader of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Elam (LTTE). Prabhakaran got the cash and Mahinda Rajapaksa got the Tamils in the North to stay at their homes on the D-day, Presidential Election day, thereby preventing an assured bloc of votes for Ranil Wickremesinghe, the UNP candidate that would have been sufficient to overwhelm the votes received by Mahinda in 2005.

Yet those who bartered the country’s conscience for cash then clothed themselves with a glorious-looking attire of patriotism, while those soldiers of the ilk of General Sarath Fonseka were disgraced as traitors. This grave injustice caused to the sublime emotions of a nation struggling to rise from the ashes of a terrorist war is unpardonable. Desecration of man’s strongly held belief in himself and his family was accepted by the henchmen and women of the ruling cabal as a patriotic act for the wild emotions raised and inflamed by empty rhetoric and resounding slogans overtook the wiser senses of man. The decay that followed in our cultural values and social measures began showing their external manifestations, not gradually but rather rapidly and uncontrollably.

At the base of all these processes of rotting away and social oozing was a politician. Politician controlled not only the country’s coffers; he controlled the hearts and minds of the general population; thereby they controlled the mindset of a great number of people, in fact a majority of Sinhalese Buddhists. The so-called pundits and pseudo intellectuals of the Chinthanaya-trash were at the very core of this repugnant movement. Construction of beautiful slogans that would easily mesmerize the gullible and plainly vacant minds of a majority which has already been hoodwinked by wickedly attired thugs misrepresenting the Order of Maha Sanga, the clergy of Buddhist preaching, gave way for insightful thinking and wise decision making.

Sharpening the television portraits to misrepresent the vile and inscrutably dangerous political philosophy, which was already bordering on Nazism and Stalinism, became a priority of highest order for those who occupied the uppermost seats of power. The resultant mindset of the Rajapaksa cabal that became more and more hallucinated and intoxicated with power produced the most undemocratic constitutional amendment thus far. The Eighteenth Amendment to our already sullied Constitution not only assured the Rajapaksas a mirage of ‘permanent power’, it also carried a latent message to the hereunto placid population and civil organizations a weapon to use and use repeatedly to prove that the path the Rajapaksas have chosen is not good for the country. In other words, the Eighteenth Amendment carried within itself a double edged knife, one edge for the Rajapaksas to continue their supremacy forever and the other as an eye-opener for the docile public that the intentions of the cabal are not so voter-friendly.

In order to bury the ugly Sri Lankan that dwelled within the Rajapaksa ruling cabal and their numerous castrations of human rights, decent life and honest livelihoods of the average man and woman, holding on to power was a prerequisite. This same argument was made in 1988 when J R Jayewardene, the very creator of the Presidential constitution and then its government, was getting ready to hand over the reins of power to the next one who would be elected. At that time J R Jayewardene had a two thirds majority in the House of Parliament. The passage of an amendment on lines of the Eighteenth Amendment would have been reasonably easy. Yet J R decided otherwise. Wiser minds prevailed.

When the siblings started tasting the sweetness of power, when they began reaping the harvests of hard working men and women in Sri Lanka, the alluring enigma of power took control of these siblings. They let themselves go. And the subject people suffered. Resulting daylight murder of Lasantha Wickrematunge, assault on other journalists, killing of Tamil journalists in Jaffna, intimidation and abduction of Prageeth Ekneligoda, Rathupaswela shooting and obliteration of those who took part in the infamous prison riots were all a direct and unmistakable results of the mindset that controlled the country after the passage of the Eighteenth Amendment.

The Presidential Elections held in 2015 changed all that, hopefully forever. Revocation of the Eighteenth Amendment and replacing it with the Nineteenth Amendment, in combination with many a legal and judicial investigation into the many misdeeds of the former first family gave them jitters. The provision of proportional representation (PR system) has ensured that it is practically impossible for any single party to gain a two thirds majority in Parliament. One party might be able to command a two thirds majority after ensuring the support of some other fringe parties to form a temporary two thirds for a specific purpose, but such temporary collusions are hardly worthy of mention in the context of a bitterly fought out election campaign which would result in a hung-parliament. Consequently, seeing Mahinda Rajapaksa again on the throne of Presidency is a non-event.

This series of events and their developments have resulted in a wild and misguided of hunt for the seat of power in 2020. The former Defense Secretary, a sibling of Mahinda who was falsely named as the ‘architect’ of the war victory in 2009 seems to be engaged in a furious campaign for 2020 Presidential Elections. Claims of the then Defense Secretary as the ‘architect’ of the war victory is a tremendous disservice and insult to some of the best military minds and brave soldiers who paid the ultimate price with their lives for the nation’s sake. Launching a campaign on a totally false and obnoxious base is not going to be successful. That campaign’s main star will be defined in terms of these untruths and falsifications.

In the midst of all this, the other brother who was supposed to be in charge of the country’s economy is said to be pretty angry that a person who ran away from the country when the worst part of the war against the Tamil militants was on is being portrayed as the next Presidential candidate. On top of that, it is also rumored that the former first lady too is vehemently opposed to the former Defense Secretary as their family-candidate. Mahinda has an impending implosion in his midst. In the grand mosaic of political development, each piece seems to be in the wrong place making the mosaic look more like a jigsaw puzzle rather than an artistic creation.

Mahinda Rajapaksa has a choice. He also has an obligation to unite the forces that displaced him from power in 2015. He has lost control and leadership of his original political party, Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP). Yet an overwhelming majority, close to 90%, of that party is now with him under a new name, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP). However, erosion of even 5% of votes from the SLPP would mean certain defeat at a Presidential Election. Because an overwhelming minority vote consisting of Tamils and Muslim, is still against the Rajapaksas. The implosion is coming.

With regards to the above article, the writer is almost 95% correct on the matters relating to the Criminal Rajapakse Family and I agree with them all. There is one missing link in the exposure …… it is the workings of a “Hidden Masters or the Deep State” that provides the facilitation and the necessasary line of protection to these criminals to rise from a cess pit to become the rulers of the nation. This must be exposed in a manner that will reveal the entire system which is functioning as a fake democratic system. Who funds them? Back them? Suggests them to be the leaders? Why arent the next ruling parties are safeguarding these criminals from the crimes they committed against the innocent TAX Payers of this country? Why IMF still giving them money when they truly knows that these bastards are super criminals? are some of the hard questions that must be asked….

Also, I am wondering why Vishwamithra forgot to mention one other infamous murder of Rajapaksas…. Thajudeen case? I think, We have to read again between the lines (in the above article) to find the HIDDEN CODES to identify the reason for the omission. Anyways, Rajapakses cannot thrive as a family all alone in any area…..unless he is backed by the ACTUAL OWNERS who are having the rights to initiate/decide who becomes the next President, the PM or the govt. A single person cannot do anything even if he had the massive popular support among the populace. Its the MAFIA that’s really matters when it comes to the question of survival. Rajapakses becomes nobody when the secret DEEP STATE decides to abandon him after he has been used as a spent force in furthering their secret agenda. GOVIGAMA MAFIA ELITES are the CEO’s/Executives who are being entrusted to running the country on the terms of the ZIONISTS.

I told this long ago. Sri lanka, doe snot know how to recycle the garbage in Meegasthota. Yet, for 70 years, we are very good at recycling the same group of politicians. If they were in another country, they would be in ajil for life. Sri lanka, has very goof media freedom now and we read crap and the media can be bought. We know there is no new blood. It is the same old and same old. what ever it is , Ranil says, Hell with the Party, I will be in the parliament.

Ah…. please give me a break. The 5% you mentioned is no big deal as they are also Mahinda’s people. They will act differently at the Presidential Election than in the LG election.
You say “……Because an overwhelming minority vote consisting of Tamils and Muslim, is still against the Rajapaksas. The implosion is coming.” What a joke.
Tamils and Muslims have no choice other than voting Mahinda’s candidate. I believe it is not a Rajapaksa.
Mahinda is not going for a deal with Tamils and Muslims. That I know for sure. In 2015, he had ample opportunity to go for a deal with them and win the election. But he didn’t want to divide the country as I heard Muslim politicos have demanded a separate government in the Eastern from him. Ranil and Maithree agreed all their demands to obtain votes and they won based on those promises which included Federal Constitution (two separate states for North and East), Release of hardcore LTTE cadre, War crimes tribunal, OMP, ICPPED, Reparation Bill, A secular country and many more.
I am sure Mahinda has his own ways to win the hearts of ordinary Tamils and Muslims and make their politicians nobody. Big talk. But he can try some new things. Moreover, he is irresistible sometimes!
WITHOUT any deal, in January 2015 he won 108,831 votes in the Northern Province (Jaffna + Vanni) and 214,769 in the Eastern Province (Batticaloa + Trinco + Digamadulla – last time I didn’t add Digamadulla votes)
Nobody knows who his presidential candidate is, as yet.
Mahinda has an already stacked deck of cards in front of him. He has 3 choices. Pick the first card, pull a random card or shuffle the face-up-deck until his choice comes on the top. :) :) :)

        It doesn’t matter he lost.
Even his defeat is valued by all Sinhalese as he didn’t enter into deals with racist, separatist Tamil and Muslim politicians to win the election.
Under the leadership of Mahinda Rajapaksa, we will make sure all Sinhalese Buddhists, which is 70.2% of the population, rally under one flag at the next Presidential election.

If I were a Tamil I wouldn’t take it, even if I didn’t back Mr Pirahaparan.
Mr Pirahaparan spent 30 years in a Bunker.
And sacrificed 40,000 young Men Women and Boys to try and give a Homeland to Tamils world wide which they can call their own Only Eelaam.
When I was in Mullative recently, even in a Air Conditioned little House it was bad enough.
Mr Pirahaparan I don’t think had enough Power Generation to Air condition the Bunker.
Just imagine living 20 Meres underground with even a Pedestal Fan.
Imagine cooking 3 meals a day in the Bunker.
Would a Man who made such sacrifices accept Rajapaksa’s Ruppiahs even if it was in Millions?.

Of course! If a political force, expecting victory, and thereby the build of a halo with it in terms of all the possible resources will fall apart if it gets defeated or if signs of defeat start appearing. The victory for the former President’s group in the last local government elections is largely as a result of the present administration not sticking to its deliverables and promises. Most of the times Sri Lankan voters know how to express a vote of no-confidence at a group in power and rarely a vote of confidence, especially to a group already holding to power. For this implosion or break up to take place based on the portrayed disunity of the group is not something that the average voter is much concerned. If they are fed up with the existing lot they would mark there cross to a group best identified as anti-establishment. Therefore if one hope that the camp identified as controlled or faithful to MR can be defeated through disunity, even engineered disunity and thereby expect victory through it without any delivery to the people then definitely he or she is pipe dreaming. Who thought that the “pohottuwa”, a ramshackle, which has no proper record, would really score at the last local government elections? It also can be another unknown group entirely because of the loss of confidence.

RAJAPAKSE AND COMPANY is lucky in one way DUE TO THE THE FAULT of RANIL AND MY3 the tamils are totally disappointed with this government.TNA will not be in a POSITION TO SUPPORT EITHER UNP OR RANIL as they did in 2005 to MY3. THEY MAY BE FORCED TO REFRAIN FROM SUPPORTING ANY PARTY.AT THIS POINT RAJAPAKSE AND COMPANY WILL USE ALL BLACK MONEY THEY HAVE TO BUY VOTERS.there are double agents like SIVAGEE LINGAM ,GAJAN PONNA,AND SURESH PREMACHANDRAN who will take money from MAHINDA and ask tamils to BOYCOTT VOTING IN THE NAME OF TAMIL NATION SELF DETERMINATION.what DR.NO VICKY WILL DECIDE ONLY GOD KNOWS.SAMPANTHAR AND SUMANTHIRAN WILL HAVE TO FACE A DO OR DIE SITUATION. ALL DEPENDS ON RANIL AND MY3 AND HOW THEY DEAL WITH TAMILS DEMANDS IN FUTURE.

    We are told that:
Prabhakaran got the cash and Mahinda Rajapaksa got the Tamils in the North to stay at their homes on the D-day, Presidential Election day, thereby preventing an assured bloc of votes for Rani Wickremasinghe,

    Really?
It was Sampanthan who announced and demanded that Tamils keep off the vote. Previously, he got in to Parliament due to strong malpractices and thuggary by the LTTE preventing all opposition to Sampanthan’s click, as he was the mouth-piece of the LTTE torrprists.

Normally, just as it was with the Vichy Govt (headed by Marechal Petain) who collaborated with the Nazis and suitably delt with by de Gaulle, Sampanthan should be at least in Jail for collaborating with the Enemy.

But he is the puppet Leader of the Opposition put in palce by the government to do its will!

He even wants to merge with the East and control the East. He and his click can then
eject the Muslims (us) once again, just as they did from Jaffna.

    We have not forgotten.

    Land like no other.

“The Citizens should understand why the former President who served both the terms and then ammended the Constitution to stay in power for ever and when got kicked out disgraced the Presidency and shamelessly returned to Parliament as a back bench MP? Is it because he love the Country and the Citizens so much or to escape from the atrocities committed by the family when in power? Your guess is good as my.

    • 3

      Namal,
The answer is very simple. It is to escape from the atrocites committed by the family when in power. If he loved the country and citizens, firstly he should love the constitution and law & order and justice. Why did he bring 18th amendment? To continue power for the third term. Why did he brought earlier than shedule period and contested for third term? Why couldn’t he give up that opportunity to some other member of the party? Why in politics even after people gave a democrative verdict? Does he think, out of the 22 million people, he is the only one suitable for govern this land?

On 9 Jan 2015 Sri Lankans thought they had seen the last of the Rajapaksa mafia. But today, within such an improbably short time, we are worrying about the possible return of the tyrants. What went wrong? First and foremost, as I have mentioned several times already, the new government failed, for whatever reason, to dismantle the deep state set up by Gota and his military intelligence. This shadowy network has far-reaching tentacles in the levers of power such as the judiciary, police, military, bureaucracy, Maha Sangha and the media. The Maithri-Ranil government has abjectly failed to meet this challenge due to its lack of unity, focus and direction, and due to its own corruption. It didn’t take long for the Rajapaksas to rally their supporters and sabotage any effort to implement the Yahapalanaya mandate. In fact it is they who have been setting the political agenda for the country, and the government’s actions have been for the most part only reactive. Rajapaksa cabal and its minions should have been in prison by now or at least undergoing trial. But nothing of that sort has happened ……. except for deals and games. Maithri and Ranil have betrayed the people’s trust by allowing these defeated criminal politicians to continue intimidating law-abiding citizens by whipping up racist violence. The public’s disillusionment with politics and politicians is now total. Not only that. By now the public also knows that this most scandalous and unpardonable subversion of democracy and people’s will in our post-independence history is being carried out with the following accomplices and partners in crime: unethical and unprofessional media led by Sirasa & Derana, politicized trade unions, especially the GMOA, and corrupt elements in the criminal justice system and bureaucracy. And it is an open secret that many of these unprincipled men have direct access to the wheelers and dealers in the government.

Pohottuwa need Pottuwa to win Presidential elections. In 2005 MR bought that vote by giving cash to Prabha to stop the Notherners from voting the cash Prabha used to by bullets . “Make your lies at least believable.” (Quote by PCoI).
Mahinda’s main pledge in 2005 was to defeat LTTE and he kept his word by perishing them within 3 years!
He if bribed LTTE, he will never defeat them as he would be under obligation to them.
One remarkable trait in Mahinda is he is not a double tongue like Ranil and Maithree. What he promised he delivered.

Vishwamithra, Overconfidence is perilous. In terms of “race” the minority votes account for 25 percent and in terms of “religion”, it accounts for 30 percent. Even if you get 100 percent with 100 percent turnout you are still well short of a victory. Your only hope is that whoever opposes the Rajapaksha cabal can sway enough Sinhala-Buddhist (SB) votes. RW, Mangala, Rajitha, John, CBK, Wickramabahu, Puravesi Balaya, CPA and all those fellows will only drive away SB votes. UNP and its allies are in some sort of denial or outright dreamland thinking they have 35 to 40 percent of the SB vote. Without MS they would never have got some of the rural votes, especially in Polonnaruwa. Everything depends on the next candidate. If they field Sajith Premadasa, then there is a good chance of defeating the Rajapaksha cabal since he has built up a decent rural SB voter base over the years and is not seen as anti-SB. Whether you like it or not, unlike previous elections, this election will depend on how many SB votes can be swayed. SB are extremely tribal and any perceived foreign or domestic threat will make GR the president. Underestimate that at your own peril. UNP got abysmal 29.5 percent. Even if you add all JVP, TNA votes, you still won’t pass 40 percent. There is no guarantee that majority of SLFP voters will go against GR because right now they hate the UNP as much they hate the SLPP if not MORE! GR is currently at around 47 to 48 percent! Even if you exclude ALL minority votes he will still get well over 40 percent (42 to 43). So don’t start celebrating just yet. 1st field a moderate, acceptable candidate.

Champa: You said: “Mahinda has an already stacked deck of cards in front of him”. Yes I do agree. That stacked deck of cards are, sorry to say, a collection of “JOKER CARDS” from various packs e.g. your own leader Wimal from NFF; Gammanpila from PHU; Vasu from NLSSP; Dinesh from MEP; Prof G.L.P from SLPP and his own siblings, Basil, Gota, Chamal; his own “Kids” Namal; Rohitha and that “16” “Break Away” ; added are: the “Intellectuals” from “Viyath Maga & Eliya”. A large number of the “FACES” that are printed on that deck of cards are destined to be “pulled Out” one by one (as you said) in a Court of Law and some in the Special Courts set up recently. If that happens and ALLOWED to happen in the way that it must be; I doubt Mahinda would be even left with “JOKER CARDS”. Just look at your own “Favourite” Wimal of NFF who has to face the trial on Novermber to account for Rs. 71 million he has “EARNED to buy all those houses, vehicles, properties, detailed out in the indictment. The case got “Postponed” because he has not still checked the “Computer Records”. The last date to check is set for that “Trail Date’ in November. So goes with all those “JOKER CARDS” that Mahinda has and all those are of NO VALUE to this country. Just for you to THINK…THINK…THINK.

Remember all, that LTTE ran a quasi government in parts of North and East and the bona fide government not only gave money, but also fed the people, funded the schools, national exams were held, the teachers salaries were paid, hospitals were maintained and doctors were paid in the areas controlled by the LTTE. All that was done to alleviate the suffering of the innocents under LTTE’s ruthless regime, not to win elections

Last decade or two, a new generation of UNPers were born. Who have no idea of the interests of the country, who has no common sense or any pragmatism, only blind UNP loyalty. They were fed with this mentality each week by the pro UNP Sunday Leader. This bunch of UNPers reveled when CBK was attacked by their UNP papers. At the sametime they never believed MR was actually handling the country well and was on the path of war victory. They were shocked when MR defeated LTTE. They were shocked this village idiot ( as they say) did things when their educated brainy, english speaking, full suit UNP leader failed. They could not fathom. This article is what we get from these stupid UNP worshipping fellows.

Tamil and Muslim political masters must realise that en bloc alignment against majority of Sinhala Buddhists is not the path for peaceful coexistence ( if they wish for it of course?. Tamils never wanted it and Sinhalese acknowledge that but can the Muslims afford it? I advise the Muslims to patch up any differences with Tamils before they embark on this suicidal path.

“I advise the Muslims to patch up any differences with Tamils before they embark on this suicidal path.”

Please leave the Sinhalese, Tamils and Muslims alone. Please you better mind your own business. They know what they are doing.

UL flight from Paris to Colombo was also diverted to pick Yoshitha baby and his friends as they were on their way from a Brazilian holiday. The flight made an unplanned stop at Milan airport. Father is the president, uncle is Defense Sec, another uncle is a minister, another uncle is speaker of parliament, another uncle is minister of economic development, brother is an MP, mom is a millionaire, my uncle fancy uncle is big boss in national carrier. God bless Sri Lanka!

Look back 1948 political independence was UNP party control by family banadaism of corny capitalism of lackeys of KALU SUDDA aligned with Western political road map . Writer has notionally misinterpreted post- Independent bypassed democracy was rule by UNP bunch of few political leadership and their Colombo & London political classes. Who had been totally discarded masses of Rural Poor of majority Sri Lankan people that including Tamils, Muslims and majority Sinhalese people.
The UNP leaders enjoy full of London blessing and all privileges in power of State governances supressed millions of rural-poor in that cost of their lives.
In shifting SLFP and MEP in 1956 rural poor has rise by SWRD which that role played certain political limited democracy ,but in fact task was incomplete and unfinished; Banadarake of SWRD was Christen-origin, turn into Buddhist, while Tamil Blood decedent for few generation work under British COLONIAL masters.

SWRD was granted to Tamils for North -east Federal states without People Mandate in 1956!!!
That was a tragedy SLFP has nothing do with an Island political democracy at all@
SWRD created new political agenda that New Federalism and its politics of Federalism in an Island by division of Land for Tamils by betray Majority Sinhalese -Buddhist without consent People mandate!

Indeed Partition of Island for Tamil Nation back by FP, later TULF ,then TNA by proxies of LTTE Gun rule politics has dominated over 30 odd years over RULE OF GUN by Tamil Terrorism?
