Crucifying Journalists For Visiting Israel

By Punsara Amarasinghe

Dr. Punsara Amarasinghe

The commotion agitated from various sects in Sri Lankan society targeted those who visited the State of Israel, including myself, labelling the delegation as those who are on the Mossad payroll, and it further questioned the moral reasoning of the Sri Lankan delegation, pushing them to the darkest corners of hell. While the critics’ right to condemn Israel or anything related to Israel as scum bug is respected, the attendees to the Israel tour should have their own stances, reasoning what impetus drove them to join the delegation, and their side should be heard , at least to emulate the principle of natural justice.

Several critics who wrote for Colombo Telegraph mocked those who joined the delegation, calling them vultures legitimizing Israel’s state-sponsored terrorism in Gaza. They did so without knowing that the Sri Lankan delegates met the most vehement opponents of Netanyahu’s government in Israel. Many activists we encountered in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv strongly advocated for peace. If the tour was meant as a brainwashing campaign funded by the Israeli government, it would not have included critics who openly question Netanyahu’s military actions in Gaza. This inclusion demonstrates a healthy aspect of Israeli democracy, the only functioning democracy in the Middle East.

A larger proportion of allegations aimed at the Sri Lankan delegation to Israel refer to so-called Israeli activities in Sri Lanka that pave the way to create a Jewish paranoia, as it existed in the 1930s when Sinhalese nationalist journalist Hemapala Munidasa propagated the myth of forming Jewish Settlements in Sri Lanka. The current concerns of the critics resemble the same roots, mainly targeting the Israeli tourists visiting Sri Lanka and Chabad Houses and Kosher food outlets, in which the critics attempt to construct a villainous depiction of Israelis as invaders. To dispel the ignorance prevalent in the public, one needs to review those popular allegations one by one.

Starting from Israeli tourists visiting Sri Lanka, especially those who served in the IDF, the vocal opponents tend to describe them as baby killers or assassins without knowing every Israeli is obliged to serve in the army as conscription is compulsory under the basic law. Depicting every Israeli as a mass killer is an imbecile act filled with vendetta towards Israelis. Furthermore, when Russian soldiers, who are engaged in a war in Ukraine, are not being questioned when they visit Sri Lanka, it exposes the hypocrisy of their argument.

The second question critics raise is about the behavior of Israelis in tourist areas. They point to Israelis conducting prayers in Chabad houses and seeking kosher food as evidence of an expansionist attitude. This criticism is ironic and stems from a deep ignorance of Jewish culture in Sri Lanka. Just as Muslims seek halal food, Jews seek kosher food to follow the Torah and the laws of kashrut. Kosher food is part of Jewish religio-cultural identity, just as halal food is for Muslims. It is preposterous that some Muslims in Sri Lanka are suspicious of kosher food while they themselves adhere to halal food culture.

Those who bemoan the nature of Chabad houses in Sri Lanka as an existential threat are still not aware of the purpose that lies behind the Chabad movement since its inception. Chabad house does not stand as a platform for conversion or missionary activities. On the contrary, it is akin to a community centre standing as a safe haven for Jewish visitors when they need spiritual guidance, which does not involve the local community. To put it bluntly, Chabad House is a fraternity limited to the Jews, devoid of ulterior motives. The clamor on Chabad Houses in Sri Lanka essentially stems from Muslim politicians who try to fabricate an alleged sinister motive or Zionist plan behind it, displaying their staunch opposition to the State of Israel. The question that comes to the fore is why aren’t they raising the same concern about the influence of Gulf states in Sri Lanka to curb Wahabism, which has been the chief factor undermining the rich cultural tapestry of the Muslim community in Sri Lanka by polarising them within the society.

Accusations against journalists visiting Israel—labeling them as Mossad agents or Zionist sympathizers—are tactics to suppress alternative perspectives that deserve consideration. The violent attacks by Hamas on October 7 at multiple sites, including Kirbutz and the Nova music festival, catalyzed the current Middle Eastern conflict. During their visit, Sri Lankan delegation members observed food distribution at Kerem Shalom and found it more organized than mainstream media reports about famine suggest. Food supplies within Gaza are reportedly controlled by Hamas, with its cadres allegedly appropriating much of the aid.

On the face of it, the misplaced hysteria surrounding the visit made by Sri Lankan journalists to Israel is fuelled by shadowy factors intending to promote a sided narrative, in which the State of Israel stands as the perennial villain. The reaction received by Sri Lankan journalists for visiting Israel reveals how vulnerable Sri Lanka is before manufacturing consent, which systematically marginalizes dissent. The beguiling picture planted in Sri Lankan society is portrayed through the moral binaries: good vs evil, victim vs oppressor, and Palestine Vs Israel. When those who have planted them realize that these trajectories are at stake, they begin to question them on moral grounds. Denying the Israeli perspective shuns people’s right to know the fullest story.

I am sorry but the criticism of you for accepting a guided tour is richly deserved. Your excuses are pathetic given that Israel has banned journalists from Gaza. Was the ban lifted just for you? Why were you selected? How were you selected? Why did Israel pay for your trip?

A proper response will take another full article. That is unnecessary.

Please read the detailed criticism of your trip by Chinniah Rameshkumar. Address his points if you can. You cannot!

“Kosher food is part of Jewish religio-cultural identity, just as halal food is for Muslims. It is preposterous that some Muslims in Sri Lanka are suspicious of kosher food while they themselves adhere to halal food culture.”
What a piece of intellectual dishonesty!
The aforementioned Muslims are citizens of Sri Lanka. They have every right to set up houses of worship where there are Muslims. Transitory foreigners don’t have that right.
In any case, Kosher food is not the problem. It is the Apartheid-like practices that Israeli “tourists” engage in.

When anti Muslim members of the media are handpicked to go to a nation now claimed to be committing a genocide, you have to wonder how credible their reporting will be.

Why we should be suspicious of Chabad Houses springing up like mushrooms. We know it is not all about conversions, it is more about concern for the security of our country.

    We should learn from others.

“Israeli Chabad couple to be expelled from India ‘for spying’ | The Times of Israel
Israeli Chabad couple to be expelled from India ‘for spying’
The duo, suspected of Mossad membership, was seen as suspicious for holding late-night meetings and renting a house at far above market value
Two Israeli Chabad emissaries active in the south Indian state of Kerala have been questioned by authorities and are due to be expelled from the country, the Times of India reported on Tuesday.

The married couple are suspected of being Israeli agents or spies. According to the article, undercover police officers tracked them for a year before filing a deportation order. The state intelligence department said that the couple regularly held meetings at their rented house and were under close surveillance.

The main point of suspicion was the extremely high rent the Chabad couple was paying in the city of Kochi and their long stay in the country, which required exiting and re-entering India whenever their visa expired.”

It seems the writer did not mention if this gang of handpicked members of the media, had considered that over 200 of journalists, members of the media, and even some of their families have been wiped out by the genocidal nation to silence them and the truth being relayed to the world.
Did they insist they be allowed INSIDE GAZA, so that they can see for themselves the conditions the Palestinians are living in? The deliberate starvation taking a toll on little children, and who have been killed by bombs and snipers (nearly 20,000 little children, keep in mind). Did they go in an see that the entire place is in rubble, and that all hospitals have been bombed, as well as churches, mosques, UN shelters, schools, and that mostly women and children have been slaughtered?

“Damning evidence of war crimes as Israeli attacks wipe out entire families in Gaza
As Israeli forces continue to intensify their cataclysmic assault on the occupied Gaza Strip, Amnesty International has documented unlawful Israeli attacks, including indiscriminate attacks, which caused mass civilian casualties and must be investigated as war crimes.” AMNESTY INT.

We don’t need Sri Lankan hasbara trying to convince us it is all rosy over there, and the aggressors are the poor victims.

Many activists we encountered in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv strongly advocated for peace.

This is an important point, actually. If you watch social media, very few Muslims come out and openly call Hamas as “terrorists.” They do not necessarily condone the events of Oct 7th. At the same time, they don’t condemn it either. On the other hand, many Jews, such as Katie Halper, have come out and strongly condemned what they perceive as excessive force by the Israeli government. They have even gone on talkshows with ardent anti-semites such as George Galloway to get the point across.
The fact of the matter is, the majority of the Islamic community is secretly (or openly) supporting Hamas. Hamas is the “resistance” and they are waging a “jihad” (holy war). The UN and the EU expects Israel to negotiate with the same group of fanatics, but such negotiations are futile. These are hardcore terrorists, incapable of reform. Yahyah Sinwar spent 22 years in an Israeli jail and spoke fluent Hebrew.

The author is comparing apples and oranges. ALL adult Israelis (except the ultra-orthodox and non-Jews) MUST serve in the army.
Russians males must only to serve in the military for one year.
Russians in Sri Lanka are more likely males avoiding conscription. Israelis in SL both male and female have already served, presumably as baby-killers.
As to Israelis behaving like colonisers in Sri Lanka, the author should read this piece in a major newspaper:
          https://www.sundaytimes.lk/250921/columns/israel-grabs-not-only-land-but-sea-sand-too-612871.html
“This inclusion demonstrates a healthy aspect of Israeli democracy, the only functioning democracy in the Middle East.”
Whether Israel is a democracy or not is not relevant. It is currently murdering Palestinian children, just as that other great democracy, the US, did in Iraq and Vietnam. Does a person feel better if he or she is murdered by a “democracy”?
          Try harder, Punsara.

There is a long version… but the short version: Oct 7th was coordinated by Iran. Left to its own devices, Hamas is capable of many more such Oct 7th attacks. They will not be sending bottle rockets, but ballistic missiles . Hezbollah already has them; smuggled in while Assad was in power. So, it’s a do-or-die moment for Israel.

“They will not be sending bottle rockets, but ballistic missiles . Hezbollah already has them;”
Well, consider your hut in Wanni. If some Indian tourist decided to occupy 3/4 of it permanently, would you not use even suicide bombers to get rid if him? If you have the nuts, that is. That’s the real short version.

Needless to say, fake public perception in our people-made hell has led many fools to believe that everyone in other parties, except the JVP and NPP, are thieves. This perception is gradually changing, as Handunetti and other “media-made bastards” are invited to TV debates.

            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9qFwILAV5s&t=2296s
Kanchana Wijesekara, a former powerful minister in that interior government, demonstrated his abilities, and what he said about JEPPOS (particularly about Wasantha Samarasinghe) has been captured by some journalists as of today.

Minister Handunetti’s recent powerful TV debate with Derana TV demonstrated his inability once more. He’s now completely exposed as an empty vessel.
This is a good sign that our easy targets will need to come up with facts sooner rather than later.

            davidthegood,

In the Hamas Charter/Covenant, it says that it is the religious duty of Muslims , not just Palestinians, to rise against Israel. Most Muslim countries are supporting Hamas, passively if not actively. The only reason most of them don’t attack Israel is because Israel has nuclear weapons. So Israel is not fighting just Hamas, it is going against an ideology of jihad that is shared by 1 billion people.

              Hello Lester,
Paragraph 16 of the Hamas 2017 Charter states –
              16. “Hamas affirms that its conflict is with the Zionist project not with the Jews because of their religion”.
              24. The liberation of Palestine is the duty of the Palestinian people in particular and the duty of the Arab and Islamic Ummah in general.
In Paragraph 20 it asserts “However, without compromising its rejection of the Zionist entity and without relinquishing any Palestinian rights, Hamas considers the establishment of a fully sovereign and independent Palestinian state, with Jerusalem as its capital along the lines of the 4th of June 1967”.
On Democracy Paragraph 30. “Hamas stresses the necessity of building Palestinian national institutions on sound democratic principles, foremost among them are free and fair elections”.
Paragraph 39. “From a legal and humanitarian perspective, the liberation of Palestine is a legitimate activity, it is an act of self-defence, and it is the expression of the natural right of all peoples to self-determination”.

” “Hamas affirms that its conflict is with the Zionist project not with the Jews because of their religion”.

Killing 1000+ civilians in a single day proves that the Hamas plan is to terminate Israel, and either massacre or expel the Jews who live there.

The rest of your copy-paste. Note the blank space below. Good.

              Continued,
So in this 2017 Charter they agree to the 1967 Borders accepting Israel as a State (Paragraph 20).
They also accept free and fair elections. They also defend the self-determination of Palestinians.
Nowhere in this Charter do they call for the destruction of Israel or that all Muslims must assist in its destruction. Paragraph 24 outlines the General Duties of all Muslims and Palestinians towards creating a Palestinian State.
              Read the Charter here –

Aiyo punsara, all criticism of your little junket is more than richly deserved as the commentators above have said. You just continue to parrot zionist propaganda before and after the trip! With so much access to information, including from many israeli historians and political analysts as well thousands of ordinary citizens, concerned about the genocide that their government is currently committing, it has become that much harder for you to spin your yarns.

I hope that whatever it is they’re paying you, will be good enough to hold your head up high when this is all over and you finding that you’ve been defending one of the most fanatical, racists, murderous entities of all time.

P.S. You do know that it’s an apartheid state that even discriminates against jews of colour right?? And that the mossad agents stationed in Sri Lanka referred to us as ‘monkeys’ – and yet here you are, brown skin and all, defending a white supremacist state!! Have some self respect men!

“And that the mossad agents stationed in Sri Lanka referred to us as ‘monkeys’ “

Lies from Victor Ostrovsky. There are Ethiopian Jews in Israel. There are Africans who lead Army units: https://www.jpost.com/israel-news/defense-news/article-808910

Jews are not fundamentally racist. White nationalists blame Jews as the primary source behind immigration and what they term “miscegenation.”

Arabs are far more racist than Jews.

just because there are Ethiopian jews in the army it does not prove anything. Have you not read up anything about their experiences ?? Also please explain away why Ethiopian jewish women were given depo-provera shots without consent – this was a comprehensive investigation covered by all the major media outlets, which obviously you’ve not seen. Ridiculous how you try to put forward arguments that thousands of jews around the world are rejecting now!! Honestly how much are you paid men?

Mehdi Hassan (the journalist who interviewed Joker Ranil) is now exposed as an Islamic fundamentalist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OW6YBT5UZ2c.

As I said many times on CT, LieZeera is not an unbiased source. Look at the quality of their “journalists.” Here is Mehdi in his own words:

“The French orientalist scholar laments, he once wrote that the Quran is not far
from considering unbelief, disbelief as an infirmity, as an illness, as a disease of the human mind.
    Subhan Allah.”

“And of course the darker the disbelievers, the atheists who remain deaf and southern to the teachings of Islam, the rational message of the Quran, they are described in the Quran as quote are people of no intelligence.”

“In this respect, the Quran described the atheists as cattle, as cattle as those who go with the crap
and do not stop and wonder about this world.”

If you could take an ISIS member, put a suit on them, coach them in a few polite expressions, and then hand them a mic, the output would be Mehdi Hassan

If Ranil had done his research, he could have fried Mehdi.

      Lester my little puppy,
I am so very confused. Why are you trashing Mehdi Hasan? Are you a Ranil fan suddenly? Or did Mehdi write this article?

      Hello Lester,
The Deep Fryer. Ranil could no more fry Mehdi Hassan than you could. You certainly don’t fry OC, SJ and others of their ilk. I am well aware that Mehdi is a Muslim. If you had watched his conversation with Richard Dawkins you would have known. All Religions take it on “Faith” that Miracles happen. None of them have ever produced evidence to back up their claims.
Mehdi has two things going for him, that Ranil doesn’t. Speed of thought and deep research before he takes on an opponent.
As for your “take an ISIS member …”. As far as I know Mehdi Hassan has never killed anyone and unlike you and your hypothetical ISIS Member doesn’t support Torture or Genocide.
      Best regards

        Scott,

There you are. Mehdi just called you stupid, and you are defending him? You’re actually proving he’s correct.

“And of course the darker the disbelievers, the atheists who remain deaf and southern to the teachings of Islam, the rational message of the Quran, they are described in the Quran as quote are people of no intelligence.”

Put down the Guinness. There is no room for atheism in Islam. An atheist has a lower status than a kafir. The kafir (e.g. Jews & Christians) can pay jizya, whereas atheists either convert or die.

“You certainly don’t fry OC…and others of their ilk.”

Why would I be interested in low IQ retarded trash? Watching real criminals move billions of dollars a day is far more interesting.

        • 5
          0

          Hello Lester,
The Haraka (again). You don’t know any real criminals that are moving Billions of Dollars. Now Lester you will have to admit whether Mehdi considers you as one of the Herd.
You forget that I have worked many years in Middle East Muslim Countries. You have even implied that I am also a Muslim; make your mind up.
“There is no room for atheism in Islam”. What a really stupid statement to make. How can there possibly be room for Atheists in Islam (or for that matter Christianity). No-one has ever presented any concrete evidence for the existence of any Gods or the Supernatural.
Now answer the question – Are you an Atheist?
          Best regards

            The Impaired Wanderer.

“In this respect, the Quran described the atheists as cattle, as cattle as those who go with the crap and do not stop and wander about this world.”

So Mehdi is calling you “cattle” (based on your atheist predisposition), full of “crap”, and you’re defending him as a human rights champion? To be fair, I agree with the “crap” apart, for different reasons.

Who cares how many floors you scrubbed in Dubai or UAE…. you are too daft to get it: an atheist is subhuman for these people and Mehdi (Subhan Allah) does not think otherwise.

It’s difficult to say whether you’re a real atheist. If you were an actual atheist, you would call out the obvious bollocks that is xyz religion, instead of making excuses such as “I did custodial work in the Gulf.”

                Dear Readers,
LESTER the bastard is the only one incapable of defending himself. I don’t think it’s bad for someone to live in a slum, but even if he has worked for other crooks in the past, his background remains the same.
The bugger’s statements are often not supported by the facts; rather, they are based on rumors. When the dog man once boldly declared that Syria is a democracy, how could that ever be true? We still see the now-on-a-pay bugger as a clown today. The average knowledge of this man is inferior to that of even our father’s rubber tappers.

The government is encouraging LGBT tourism. Lester will get rich soon, but with pains in different places…….

However, Lester ‘s hidden performance (so-called intellectual) as a beachboy in Wilpattu would not work if one considers his recent surgeries….. poor customers will be dissatisfied. Why not try the Losers in Pataya, Bangkok? Btw, this racist goes overboard with his low-level posts, which CT-admin is unable to control.

Some comments on CT are very nauseating. This is not the place to make sexual innuendos about others without proof. One should stick to the subject.

Will it be OK if there is proof?
I agree that CT can do more to block out distasteful comments. But when people use the space for promoting some personal agenda, misuse becomes inevitable.

              Hello Lester,
Shows how much you know. I have never worked in the UAE. For your information Dubai and Abu Dhabi are both parts of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
You don’t understand Atheism, so go educate yourself, watch Matt Dillahunty – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZKc35K_Afk
Matt is an ex-Baptist who was training to become a Pastor.
Or the Bible Scholar Justin of Deconstruction Zone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1rXYtTso6o
Justin is an Ex-Christian, BA & M.Div. Engineer so that defeats your argument that Atheists are subhuman or daft.
Now answer the question – are you an Atheist?
              Best regards

LankaScot, What does it matter to you who an atheist is? When atheists deny the existence of their own Creator Father God, they deny that they are human.

                Scott,

I am an agnostic. The existence of God can neither be proved nor disproved. But this is irrelevant to the argument at hand. You are the one denying the existence of God, not me. And you are the one who is condemned to hellfire by 1 billion angry people and their holy book sic war manual.
Dubai is part of the UAE; you claimed to work there. Or was that a Guinness-induced hallucination?
Religion is a dull business. But there is a need for it, so long as the human brain is not hard-wired for rational thought. Most people are not going to rationalize ethics through logic alone. A bit like dating. Singing songs, praying, learning about magic horses and fish turned into bread, etc. all of these appeal to the average human mind. Then the next question becomes, which religion? That depends on the particular culture. I have nothing against Christianity. I am in agreement with Nietzsche that Christianity is generally suitable for poor people. Buddhism is too logical for most people. There are no easy dichotomies. The other religions are too violent or utilize hierarchy. The Waffen SS, for example, was modeled after the Hindu Caste system.

                  Hello Lester,
The Gaslighter. Show me where I said that I worked in Dubai.
                  I can’t stand Guinness.
“Buddhism is too logical for most people” don’t make me laugh, an Agnostic that thinks Buddhism is logical. How do you explain “rebirth is a core concept where kammic energy from one life influences the next, leading to a continuous cycle of birth and death called samsara” in logical terms. Where is your evidence for this?
“I am in agreement with Nietzsche that Christianity is generally suitable for poor people”. Well well a semi-fascist, with a patronising attitude to his “inferiors”.
You seem to know an awful lot about Fascism, are you working for Peter Thiel?
                  Best regards

Where is your evidence for this?

Of course there is no direct scientific evidence for rebirth. One cannot design an experiment whereby Paul McCartney is reborn as Eeyore the donkey. Not because it’s impossible, but because there are limitations in the available tools. However, if you take an indirect approach, the outlook is not as bleak. Take someone like Mozart, a musical prodigy. Music came very naturally to him at a very young age (age 3 to be precise). What Mozart was capable of by age 8 or 9, his neighbor could likely not achieve even with 35 years of high-level training. Kamma is a very good explanation.

Here, the young man Subha asks the Buddha why some people are “short-lived or long-lived, sickly or healthy, ugly or beautiful, uninfluential or influential, poor or wealthy, low-born or high-born, foolish or wise.”

                    The Buddha replies that:

“Beings are the owners of their kamma, heirs of their kamma, born of their kamma, related to their kamma, supported by their kamma. Whatever kamma they do, good or bad, they are its heirs.”

It must be soo very frustrating for you, to read stuff like this every day but having to pretend that you haven’t, my little coward…….
You of course are a Muslim, since you have not only been circumcised but gone a step further too. As a fellow Muslim (you said so yourself), Al Hamdulillah!

            Nakia and all rational thinkers,
As of right now, Lester, the blatant idiot who tries his hardest to stand out in a forum that does not accurately reflect 3% of Sri Lankans, is a complete joke.
This man is a sick person and has never in his life enjoyed being the center of attention. The fact that foreigners like Lankascto attack Sri Lankans racially reveals everything about Lester’s upbringing. He should undoubtedly be someone from the slums of Colombo.
The bugger, who is currently concealed in Wilpattu, might be involved in some unlawful activities that involve controversial lackys of Israeli entrepreneurs. For patriotic Sri Lankans, this man is a true annoyance.

It doesn’t work that way, Scott. Mehdi’s full-time job is bashing Israel 24/7 on social media. Subsidized largely by LieZeera, the propaganda arm of Hamas. An open secret that Qatar funds both Hamas and LieZeera. Surely no conflict of interest when LieZeera reports on Hamas. Although I have to admit, inviting Israeli guests to the show to get access to Gaza, was a clever tactic in the beginning.

As for Mehdi, he simply shifted his focus on infidels.

What on Earth are you talking about, over 270 Journalists have been killed by the Israelis in Gaza including many from Al Jazeera. Al Jazeera Journalists were already in Gaza. Israel does not allow International Journalists into Gaza. Even the recent Sri Lankan visitors (supposed Journalists) were not allowed into Gaza.
Where is your evidence that Zeteo is funded by Al Jazeera?

It’s also worth pointing out. Mehdi is not merely quoting controversial verses from the Quran. When he says “Subhan Allah” (Glory be to God), he is in full agreement with those verses

The two faces of Mehdi are interesting. He called Hamas “terrorists”, that is obviously bull on his part. He wants to appear objective so that people like Piers Morgan (4M subscribers) will invite him to their show. Mehdi is milking the cash cow called social media. So are George Galloway and other anti-semites.

Mehdi is a graduate of Christ Church, Oxford. Even this famed institution, a beacon of liberal thought, could not alter his radical thinking. It made him more dangerous by providing credentials. Now imagine what the uneducated radicals (Hamas), Head Chopper Bin-Salman of KSA, etc. are capable of.

One can guess, going by the ramblings of some hypothetical plumbers about pumps in Sigiriya.

Some comments here castigating this acolyte of the genocidal entity deserve the highest merit and respect. All too often the events of 7th Oct 2023 are touted as a rationale for the most despicable and revolting inhumanity that has followed. By the way, according to international law and the UN charter, an occupied people have the right of armed resistance against the occupier. In an Orwellian sense, mainstream media continue to portray the killings of mostly military or paramilitary persons that day as being an act of terror, whereas a thousand-fold more intense and destructive litany of atrocities is glossed over. An estimated six hundred thousand civilians in Gaza have been killed since Oct 2023. That alone makes it the most gruesome crime in modern history.

      LP:

Israel is also invoking the right of self-defense. No government can sit idle when 1000 of its citizens are massacred in a single day. Secondly, any resolution brought about at the UN will be non-binding , since the US is a permanent member of the Security Council. As long as Hamas does not release hostages, and Hamas does not surrender, there is no case for the Palestinians. Some countries, e.g. England and France, are claiming to recognize a so-called “Palestinian State.” This is political play to retain Muslim votes

mainstream media continue to portray the killings of mostly military or paramilitary persons that day

That is incorrect. Most of those killed were civilians. Anyway, this kind of “spin” is exactly why Israel is continuing on its present objective. It’s better to eliminate Hamas with significant Palestinian civilian casualties than engage in faux “peace talks” with Arabs backed by blood money.

Their democracy is just a show. Even if you met a few who are against Nethanyahu government, it means nothing compared to how this government and previous ones genocided and incrementally genocided the Palestinian people.

Only citizens and immigrants can build Chabad houses, places of worship, and ethnic restaurants. It’s strange and against the law that tourists do this.

rtf, Democracy in any case is of no use as it is politics. Theocracy is the real truth.
