An Open Letter Requesting Kumar Sangakkara To Assume The Leadership Of Sri Lanka

By Murali Vallipuranathan

Murali Vallipuranathan

Dear Sanga,

Many fans and well-wishers have sent countless letters to you in the past. But this time, as a social activist living in Sri Lanka and looking for a better and prosperous Sri Lanka, I am sending this open invitation to you with an important request to take the leadership of the country at a critical moment when the people’s revolution is at its peak.

While pressures to remove the current incompetent President and Prime Minister from office through a popular revolution are succeeding, unfortunately there are signs that under the current constitution, a corrupt regime may once again come to power.

Kumar Sangakkara

On one hand, efforts to gain support in Parliament through monetary favors are taking place behind the scenes. On the other hand, all those seeking leadership in the current parliament are either involved in corruption or tried to get votes by inciting racism or killings in the past. By giving them the leadership position of the country again, they will lead the country to further destruction and in 5 years they may create a worse situation for the people to call back the Rajapaksas to power.

Since independence, they and their affiliated parties have been involved in various crimes including assassinations, extortion, destroying the country’s economy by continuously receiving deal commissions, fueling ethnic conflicts that leads to increasing defense expenditures and sold our motherland to foreign interests. Due to such activities of the members of parliament, some Sri Lankans believe that if independence had not been achieved, Sri Lanka would have seen a better economic status and development under British rule than the current status of a failed bankrupt state.

In such a situation, a charismatic, educated honest leader who has the support of the people from all strata of society, who is not involved in promoting racism, free from corruption, who is not having blood on his hands, is very necessary to sustain the success achieved through the people’s revolution.

It was only when there was a massive structural change with the new Constitution in the countries where the leaders were removed through the people’s revolution, such as France and Russia, these countries rebuilt their economies and became strong countries. You have posted many videos and news stories in the past on the plight of people. With a master’s degree in law, you have the expertise to bring about the necessary changes in the Constitution. In the past you have been a clean leader who was not involved in corruption and communal activities and was accepted by all. I am honored to ask such a person to assume the leadership of the country. Your contribution and leadership are essential in creating a new, egalitarian, corruption-free Sri Lanka, the dream of the youth community.

Thank you

Dr Murali Vallipuranathan, Board Certified Consultant Community Physician, Visiting Lecturer, Universities of Jaffna & Colombo

The country faces a desperate situation economically. That has brought to light how sinfully self-centered our political masters have been. Do we have to find desperate solutions, as well!

Valli, the horse is gone, but still the donkey is still in the chair of King making job? Isn’t that your brethren seated the Rowdy Mahindha on the Dutugemunu seat and and he accelerated happening this. What the heck your idol champion knows about reviving a bankrupted country.

Kumar is neither Idol nor has any knowledge of Bankruptcy. He is a Gentleman with no baggage of corruption or Nepotism. He ain’t a bowler or outside fielder, He was a batsman and wicket keeper. Still manage to captain the Ship towards World cup finals. We need an honest man who can respect the rule of law and meritocracy so that experts in this field ( both locals and Patriotic Expats) can formulate a plan to get the ship out of the choppy waters.

Father of Singapore Lee Kwan Yew was a Barrister and still made the Singapore a developed country. He ain’t economist. He hired the economist and listened to them unlike some idiots listen to the Psychic lady to rule the country you all voted to power.

I am sorry Sir: You are dreaming. When they elect two criminals out of the 225 criminals left, we are going back to the same old tricks. This what they say, the Vethalam (devil) always go back to the tree. That is what going to happen. Its time the students say they will propose the President and the PM. Not the parliament. The Parliament can just rubber stamp it. None of the 225 should be re-elected or appointed. Make the 225 find a job outside the government. They should not be allowed to run for parliament again. Their time is over. Let the young people take over.

We only need a Skipper for the rudderless ship who respect the meritocracy and rule of law and understand the plight of ALL Srilankans, not a some segments only.

The current People’s revaluation is going to turn out to be ” The harvest of the little children will never be housed ” situation.

At the moment there are no torch bearer(s) or a shepherd who can lead us to the right direction. All the members citizens in the current swamp ( 225 0f them) have secondary agenda and therefore none is suitable to lead us.

“This what they say, the Vethalam (devil) always go back to the tree.”
Vethalam is not the devil and is not a fraction as wicked as many human beings are.
It can even be an interesting character if you have read the vethalam episodes of the Vikramadiya tales.

Your request would have been pertinent.
    .
But there are proofs that this young gentleman have been caught by Rajapakshes criminals, in buying and selling illegal properies.
    :
That means, his hand is caught by being part of money laundering acts of Rajakashes. I could also be a cricket fan of KS… but we should not appoint a nurse to save a life a fatally ill person. If KS was tamed by the tricks being played on them by MEDAMULANA criminals, ….. that alone reveals a lot about KS s person…. I am no tagainst… but there is a saying … xxxx

Many Hospital administrators are Nurses and they manage the doctors but they don’t do surgeries. They are administrators. We are not looking for someone know all. Even as a cricket captain, KS many never bowl or wouldn’t have thrive as outline fielder. Still he manage to Guide a team towards world cup finals.

None of the Current Head of states have any economic degree or economist. They recruit the right people into the post not a psychic readers into the post. Leadership need Strong man and be honest and earn the respect from all. KS possess the quality.

I suggest you try to find Aladin or some other Grand Wizard. This kind of aragalaya will only end when all the delusions are gone. until then we will have to hope and pray for a Magician.

      .
I thought that it was Magicians who were in power all this time!
      .
(That their magic didn’t work is another story!)

Reading from many comments that people have total misconception of leadership qualities.
A leader does not need to know everything. Kumar as a Captain does not know how to bowl or may not have thrived as outline fielder. He was Wicket keeper and a strong batsman. Yet he understand all about the bowling and how to manage the team.

Singapore’s Lee Kwan Yew was barrister and not an economist. He was very honest and hardworking unlike our clowns ruled the Lanka for the last 70 years, hardly ever worked and they are all corrupt with huge kickbacks ( minimum 10% with Basil as he was nicknamed Mr. Ten Percent) .

With a leader who is transparent and honest, Professionals to run the show . My understanding is in our current parliament nearly 90 members not even have GCE O/L. You all let those clowns run the show until the treasury is completely empty ( Kajana is Empty) .

Lets not waste our time on petty politics, Lets have some quality leadership take this country. One such person is Kumar Sangakara

Have you much of an idea about the man’s career outside cricket?
Being better than Basil is hardly a qualification.

“In such a situation, a charismatic, educated honest leader who has the support of the people from all strata of society…”
Is the writer sure of the accuracy of this assessment?

    BTW
I came across a long document circulated in the name of the writer as author, which justified in terms of ‘karma’ the torching of RW’s home.
Will he kindly confirm if it was from him?

I don’t know what Dr.M might have posted about RWs Karma.
But I have a problem with you questioning someone’s freedom of expression.
This is the mentality in Lanka lead to many killings or journalist, option writers.
Seems like this is deep rooted problem in our country.
If this continues to be a problem, you don’t expect the people with difference of opinion will express their thoughts and you have to subject yourself to Tyrants. Amen.

It has been widely circulated and I have read it.
I asked a straight question from the author.
It will be simple if he either accepts or rejects it before that posting goes any wider.

I have no FB or any other social media except WhatsApp for private communication.

If the circulation was under his name, it’s his opinion.

As far as I read things , Dr. MV does not use someone’s name and he is very open and does not hesitate to make comments.

I have watched his YouTube videos that he appeared in some news channels.

Ranil was the Education minister when Jaffna Library was burned and it’s an open secret that entire UNP clans know what was the plan.

As a person whom I believe in Karma, RW has earned so much bad Karma from either his actions or just being inactive at a time things have been done differently.

Defend to your heart’s content, but when falsehoods are challenged, do not rush to defend them as well.
What amazes me is your doing all the talking for Dr MV– I am sure that he has not lost his voice.
