BBS Gnanasara Pulls A 180 – Says “Nirvana Can Wait -Will Resume My Activism Once More”

In a complete flip of the tune played to media on the night he was released – claiming he will spend his days engaged in meditation and contemplating dhamma – BBS Gnanasara now says he has decided to resume his activism upon seeing the hopeless and confused looks on the face of the youth.

Gnanasara made these remarks to media during his visit to Kandy Malwathu and Asgiri temples last evening, where he told media he was genuine in his claims when he said he wished to spend his days in meditation.

“I was truly exhausted and was genuinely wanting to spend my days in calm and quiet; engaged in dhamma and meditation,” he told media while being surrounded by fellow members of the BBS. “But I saw the confused looks in the faces of youth who came to see me and some even wrote that when I was released, they felt as if their father had returned home…”

“My heart fell, I felt very emotional – how can you ignore when children say such things?” he added.

So, throwing all caution to the wind, Gnanasara says he has decided to become ‘active once more’.

“I told myself there is no time to rest, no time to engage in dhamma and meditation…Attaining nirvana can wait. Now we are in a race against time to be proactive until this danger moves away,” he added.

Meanwhile, responding to a question posed by a journalist of possible entry to politics, he said he is engaged in a form of ‘historical politics’ – a calibre that stands higher than party politics that change every five years.

“I beg of the thugs engaged in party politics – don’t rile me up and take this issue to unnecessary lengths,” he said while adding party politics are irrelevant to him and he is not a goon of Mahinda, Maithri or Ranil.

Why are some so afraid of Gnanasara?

Though a monk, he behaved not in a way of a monk but it’s surfacing now that what he uttered is right.

What’s more important @ this hour; behavior pattern of a monk or the revealed truth.

Gnanasara has now become an inspiring personality; not only for Buddhists but also non-Buddhists who admire truth.

What the country requires is a leader, not a puppet which dances to somebody else’s tune or somebody greedy of money & power & ready to sacrifice even his/her kith & kin for that.

Yes, he had been a convict but the president pardoned, controversial but accepted by people.

He’s making the ground & those afraid can start fleeing.

Since he has broken his promise to the clown President BBS Gnyanasara must be arrested again and locked up under the prevention of hate speech laws.

Also same goes for the other hate filled, greedy politician in a saffron robe – Athureliya who has been spreading anti-Muslim venom

The CIA and US Embassy campaign to destroy the peace by politicizing religion with networks of agents and corrupt local politicians is gaining steam again, as there is push back on SOFA and the plan to turn Trinco and BIA into supply and servicing based for the US war machine in the Indian Ocean.

Thanks God for a PERIOD of last 2 years, we only heard abou tthe bugger being though jailed, but warded in Prison hospital.
Today, IDIOSYNCRATIC terror created by BBC head is back to the stupid acts of President.
Today the bugger Ghanasara is made a Hero of the BATHBALAYAS sometimes no reaons.
We had also exemplary acts, public statements made by COLOMBO head of christian church, Malcom Ranjith who set all all record not allowing CHRISTIAN adhnerets not going after an yykind of mass murders of Xanasara tactics. That alone should be the lession these LOW LIVES to know that these men are just BUDDHISTs for their IDs cards only.
I think, If I were the head of states, the kind of men would have been JAILED until the rehab would prove these men are improved to leave with human associations.
      :
Our anger is not with this man only, but with B***Putha Sirisena to have allowed the man s release.
May all curse be on him to have created the anxities by realease aggressive monk. If Makandure Madhush would have been free, he could take the life of the bugger et al. These block me all alone.

Indeed! Religion – Buddhism and Islam is being weaponized by the USA.
ISIS was set up and funded by US and proxy Saudi to Weaponize Islam and promote the IS Islamophobic narrative even as US Saudi proxy funds IS to do the dirty work of the US – and divide and rule countries where USA wants military bases.

America must be kicked out of the Indian Ocean back to the Atlantic and Pacific , with their EU and Japanese allies now that the UNGA and ICJ have ruled UK and US occupation Chagos Island illegal. Time to fold up the CIA black cite called Diego Garcia military base.

    Sirisena,

    Why did you Pardon, Ganasara?

Because he is a Para-Sinhala Para-Buddhist monk, who is an insult to the Enlightened Buddha? He says, Nirvana can wait.

Sirisena, do you really think that you will get to Nirvana? What about Apaya for you? You have earned your spot, The dead have already made the request.

Well, the owner might end up making a lot of money …………… not necessarily in money”

What’d I say …….. I know how Lankans are going to behave even before they know it themselves! :))

Do not blame the President. He wanted to win Buddha Balavegya support when he contests again as president. The best palace for Ganasara is Lion’s cage in Dehwala zoo Gaanam in Tamil means wisdom. I don’t know who gave him that name

If SIRISENA did anything by his own that ended up in disasters.
      :
I have no doubt the release of BP Ghansara will create lot more problems than had been ever before. He is more or like – if he feels that some gullible public would support him, he become swollen. Not few days ago, keeping his elderly mother, the very same aggressive monk said, that he would take more care of DHARMA and SANGA hood than creating new forms of racial waves acrss the country.
But today, we hear the tone of the person who had been jailed for several charges, now being on his release., totally differen thtings.
Why should we then rely on the kind of monks in order to send the message across the nation ?

No difference from NTJ. MS abetting. Govt. should proscribe BBS and Mahasona movements and take the members for interrogation. Gnanasara should be taken back into custody under suspended sentence to continue in prison again, if democracy to prevail.

This is not surprising at all. As a matter of fact, I did question the true meaning of his stated intention, b’cos coming out of the jail has no meaning whatsoever with the actual life style of pure Buddhist monk. For true monk, there shouldn’t be any different whether in or out of jail.
I don’t know what kind of politics he has in mind but, I’m pretty much certain that he would become a major catalyst against peaceful coexistence of minority religions in SL. His past behavior makes this prediction very easy!

This sounds deadly. That Sirisena is to blame is correct. If we are to talk about what Sirsisena deserves, it is to be the first to be hanged by the newly hired executioner. However, we are people who are committed to (naive and foolish?) bridge-building, reconcilliation, peace, harmony and forgiveness. Oh, dear! Am I beginning to sound sanctimonious, myself? No, I’m conscious o all my own shortcomings and limitations. However, there are certain levels to which we guys will not stoop.
    .
And let it not be imagined that it is only the lunatic-fringe Buddhist clergy who are to blame. I must immediately draw attention to the fact that there are very decent monks whom I have met. I don’t know enough of the Dharma itself to extol it.
    .
However, I do know well enough that there are dangerous trends in other religions as well. Tomorrow I have to face a “Buddhist” layman at the Police Station. I have complained about nasty “WhatsApp” messages that he has sent to me. My smartphone alone is the evidence that I will present. I’ve also named as “second respondent” the Anglican Priest who is Headmaster of S. Thomas’ College, Bandarawela. Tomorrow, he has only to answer for his not having taken action against this henchman of his. However, there’s a nauseating stench emanating from his school. I have little “presentable evidence” of what else he is guilty of. That is for the Police to investigate.
    .
Please, “Authorities”, get all this investigation (and remedies) done as fast as possible; then disband this nightmare “Police State”.

      Mr Sinhala Man,
      .
You have articulated it as no others Mr. I thank you, it made my day. Each time, reading about the self adulations of this monk, I become mad not being able to go through my list for the day that I am used to make each morning.
Yes, Sir, you are dead right saying.
      .
The first to be hung by newly appointed Executioner should be SIRISENA himself.
      :
This our GOOD hammuduruwo, Late Sobithha Thero, for whom I have a greater respect yet today, in my life predicted, ” I am not sure, if the rotti would have turned to be overroasted, so that nobody could eat it”: To that moment, we have reached today, like or not, we should realize it, it was a greater mistake to select out ”

I am very sad each time looking at the manner, the bugger abused his power all these months as if he would have no hearts about the people nor cabinet which has been appointed by him.
What has this bugger, uneducated bastard been doing with lankens today. Some say, his recent trip to China was a big deal to CROSS against Amerca. These are just speculations however, what I believe is, it was just to show that those riots on to INNOCIENT MUSLIMs came up in his absence. Ballige putha should be well aware of the facts, that 22 mio of people are today in their anxities not being able to see it forward. IF i WOULD have beenone in the parliament would long have go for n impeachment since we cant see the NATURAL EXISTENCE of SIRISENA any more. Our hearts and minds are with the people n o matter what race, religion they belong to

Wonderful news. The honorable, venerable Galagoda Aththey Apey Hamuduruwo is needed to control the clear and present danger to the country from the crazy Mohommedan cult. This right honorable monk warned about the crazy cult years ago, if people had listened 250 innocent lives would have been saved. Sure he’s uncouth and overfed and probable enjoys the finer things in life but definitely suitable to be nominated for the nobel peace prize.
With Gota also coming by 2020 this is a opportune moment to ban the following stone age arab practices and rituals
-Ban dual law and Mohommedan marriage and divorce act (even Ranil seems to be fine to ban this)
-Ban polygamy and Mohommedan child marriage
    -Ban Mohommedan Hijab
-Ban Halal slaughter. (Just as eating outside in Ramazan is banned in Mohommedan countries Halal slaughter can be banned in Sinhala buddhist country)
-Ban Mohommedan mosques in Holy City of Kandy (Just as Kafirs are banned in Mohommedan holy cities)
-Ban circumcision of little sri lankan male children
-Ban genital mutilation of little sri lankan female children
-Ban screaming/loudspeakers of Mohommedan mosques (people of sri lanka deserve a peaceful sleep without crazy lunatics going Allah Allah at dawn)
    -Ban Madrasas/Sharia Unis
    -Ban all arab preachers
-Ban Mohommedan only schools like Zahira and so called Mohommedan international schools
-Continous monitoring of Mohommedan mosques and weekly checking to see about grass cutting equipment

        @Native Vedda
Good start, the teachings of this stone age racist cult promote and condone all sorts of nasty inhuman activities with and to small innocent children.
The holiest of holy books of this cult speak of unspeakable horrors done to a little child of 6 years (who liked playing with dolls- not origami) at the start of this cult.
What can you expect from a cult that condones child marriage and female genital mutilation?
The entire country is waiting to see the outcome of the investigation done on the Mohommedan doctor who may have messed around with the fallopian tubes of sinhalese women

Yes he has the right providing he forgo his Safran Robe. Can you imagine Buddha changing his stand “as many times as he thinks fit” and becoming a activist or a Drunk.
He should first come out as a layperson and then he can be the legitimate father to his sons openly and have a good drink may be take a another shot at driving drunk.

I know Buddha did so on a number of occasions. The most prominent being the establishment of the Meheni Sasna, that he vehemently opposed before. The decision eased reversed on the appeals of Maha Prajapathi Gotami (the step mother of Siddhartha).
        .
If Buddha (Sarvagna), with his superior foresight can do it, why not Ven Gnanasara, who is just a Putujjana.

” Attaining nirvana can wait ” . Yes look at what Mohamed Lahir has done in Muthur Kiliveddi Hindu temple. Lahir has deceived the priest of the temple pretending as a Hindu and joined as his assistant calling himself as Siva. Recently Police has searched his room on suspicion and found contraceptive pills and photos of 180 girls from Kiliveddi and neighbouring villages, in his mobile phone. It is alleged that he has mixed the pills with panchamirtham ( mixture of crushed fruits) and given it to the devotees coming to the temple. What a crook he is and hope Police will reveal more on his contacts and other nefarious activities, once the investigation is over.

Complaints are piling up against two Muslim doctors in Kurunegala, including some of illegal sterilization procedures. Isn’t this one of the things that Ven Gnanasara was campaigning about? See news first dot lk for details The politicians do not care for the country.. Look at how both the Rajapakses and Ranil/MS allowed Islamic influence and terror to grow. At least we have the Sangha to look after the nation.

I told my Catholic friend that Ven Gnanasara had been released. He said “Good, he warned about all these Muslim terrorists but nobody listened. They called him a troublemaker. Sirisena has cancelled all transfers of Muslim teachers from Tamil schools to Muslim schools. MP S. Viyalendiran had complained to the President that Hizbullah was abusing his power by transferring Muslim teachers to Muslim schools and attempting to create a separate education zone for Kattankudi. Up to now over 270 Muslims teachers have been transferred from Tamil schools. Is there no end to this curse? Why have these bloody Muslim ministers not been taken in for questioning by the CID? Because of RW/MS protection. Only Ven Gnanasara will speak for Buddhists and Hindus.

Ven. Gnanasara Thero made this turn around after visiting the prelates of the Malwatte and Asgiriya chapters. It was after the chief prelate of the Malwatte chapter uttered something the problems in the NW province commenced. The prelate might have not envisaged such a scenario. What is our good hearted Cardinal doing? suddenly he is no more in the picture. There seems to be a much larger picture looming in the background. The issue is not the pardon given to the Ven Thero but why at this time? Could anyone answer.

Once ordained a Buddhist monk can choose one of the different life styles:
    .
    1) Aranyawasi (Temple dwelling) or Vanavasi (Forest dwelling)
    2) Nagaravasi (Town dwelling) or Gramavasi (Village dwelling)
    .
An Aranyawasi Monk lives in a temple and spends most of his time not for self advancement, as in the case of the Vanavasi Monk, but for the betterment of the people living in his area or, to use a Christian word – Parish. Buddha also advised monks to go far and wide, and spread the Dhamma, far and wide, for the benefit of the people. (‘Charatha Bhikkave Charika – Bahu Jana Hithaya – Bahu Jana Sukhaya…). A Buddhist monk should be considered as a person who learns Dhamma, Practices it, Teaches it to the lay people and then protects it from being distorted or destroyed. During the Dutu Gemunu – Elara war, some monks left monkhood, joined the army, fought in the war and then once it was over went back to their temples and got ordained again.
    .
Rev Gnanasara’s decision to take ‘180 turn’, as the Author calls it, must be regarded as such a maneuver, where he forsakes his personal salvation (in his own words, ‘postpones his journey to Nirvana’) for the sake of Dhamma and ultimately for the benefit of many other followers of Dhamma.

Mahatma Gandhi says “An eye for an eye will only make the whole world blind.”
There is no need to resort to violence.
Out of over 15 million Sinhalese, 99.999% are totally against violence. The action of only 0.001% has tarnished the image of the entire Sinhalese population.
We are heading for a Presidential election.
Sinhalese will then have an opportunity to change the current political layout where our Sinhalese leaders have made themselves hostages of extremist minority politicians for over 3 decades.
Leading a section of vulnerable youth (I don’t think they have a religion) against other ethnic communities which will lead to loss of lives and destruction to property is an unpardonable crime.
There is no need for the youth to resort to violence and destruction to show their vitality.
Buddhism upholds non-violence and it is not a private property to give personal interpretations.
It is the duty of the Buddhist monks to help the youth who are vulnerable to attain a mental state of non-violence.

In other words, he is saying his activism is not motivated by Buddhist principles. So, you already know what to expect? Can’t he engage in an activism fueled and propelled by the Buddhist philosophy? His understanding of Buddhism seems to be limited to meditation on the dhamma. What about converting the dhamma into action instead of mere meditation on it?

Gnanasara (I won’t address you as Ven. because you are not)

From what you say, you are a Sinhala ‘patriot’ first & a Buddhist monk second. Therefore, you should leave robes & fight your cause because it is contrary to Buddhist teachings as everyone is equal in Buddhism & your type of patriotism has no relevance, therefore, the Sinhala race & Buddhism should not be combined. As you have correctly said, a monk is expected to spend time in meditation & contemplation, which, in your case, will do you much good, broadening your mind. To my knowledge, as a Buddhist monk, you are expected to leave your materiel life in search of Nirvana & provide spiritual guidance to those in need, not spreading hatred.

SL is a free country & you can do your patriotic duty (within the law) but not as a Buddhist monk. If you are not sure how a Buddhist monk should behave, look in social media for sermons of foreign monks, such as, Ven Ajhan Char & Ven Sumedho. It’s monks like these who are the true guardians of Buddhism, not bigoted thugs in robes spewing hatred & violence in a misguided sense of saving Buddhism & the Sinhala nation. In fact, your ideology is no better than that of Isis or other extreme religious fanatics, therefore, an insult to Buddhism.
