Bond Scam: I Beat President To The AG’s Office, Brags Ranil

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said that he forwarded the recommendations submitted by the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) on the controversial Central Bank bond issue in December 2016, more than a year before President Maithripala Sirisena pledged to do so.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe

In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s office, Wickremesinghe claims that both submissions, the President’s and his, have affirmed the democratic and law-abiding policies of the ‘Yahapalana National Government.’

Wickremesinghe, in his statement, has thanked the Commission of Inquiry (CoI) which deliberated for a period of ten months as well as COPE, headed by its Chairman Sunil Handunneththi. He added that the entire process was conducted without any interference unlike during the previous regime when such inquiries were accompanied by ‘vindictive and false mudslinging.’

He pledged moreover that the Yahapalana Government is committed to take legal action on all wrongdoings since 2008, as recommended by the CoI.

Ranil WIckramasinghe is dangerous to the Economy of Sri Lanka. Not only has Bond scam Ranil Wickramasinghe stolen from the people, he is planning to issue 5 Billion USD worth of bonds in 2018 to pay off the massive DEBT of the country, incurred partly by the bond scam, as well as, Mahinda Jarapassa’s Chineses’ white elephant infrastructure in Hamabantota.

Ranil treats the people of Lanka with Contempt and feeds them SPIN. He should be impeached
Fact is the funds looted by Mahinda Rajapaksa and Co and Ranil, Ravi K, Malik, Mahendran etc. should be brought and tracked, and used to pay off the national debt rather than more bonds being issued and more Debt being accumulated in this year to pay off bond scam losses.
. IMF and Ranils’ Fake foreign Economic Experts should be asked to track down funds of RK, Mahendran, Rajapakse brothers and sons. Ranil is protecting Rajapaksa family from corruption inquiries just as he blocked Ravi K inquiry and hoping to sell the story that 2 wrongs make a right.!

Never forget, that bond issue came into be, due to the left behind huge sums of Rajapakske debts. – the various kinds of debts taken by Rajapakshes revealed after the new govt was formed. Before that nothing was transparent in this very same country, Today, democratic mechanisms have been applied by Prez and PM and have let them go forward without their mediation. That is a good sign.
I dont see everything is dark even if Rajapakshes just left behind a looted and rooteded state.
Moreover, there had been no records on the vehicle pools the govt had been using. Eeven today, there thousands of vehicles that need to come up.. not many media men would report them due to some partialities of them to abusive Rajapakshes and their business links.

Hmm.. let me get this right.

You are saying that because Rajapakse & Co. looted the country, it’s ok for Ranil and his pals to do the same because Ranil ________ (insert preferred description here). i.e. “is Our Man”.., “is a Royalist”., “is a Govigama”, “is Fair”, “is Beloved By the West”, “has Spoke with British PM”….

          Malu,

what i said above it, it is no doubt a great mistake to have appointed him – meaining CBG. But none of the lanken leadership was informed about him. THere, the PM s decision was so naive no doubt about that. But the successor – today s CBG- Dr Swamy could also be one another to abuse, but he was appointed by pREZ: Dr Kumarasawamy is reported to have dealt with famous men now in american prisons. This i happened read somewhere. Please google it for your further clarrifications.
Besides, if the huges sums ranging to billions woudl be regained, … where is hte problem ? My problem, people are made to compare the kind of crimes with higher crimes Rajapakshe deliberately committed.
For me, taking a life of someone is the highest crimes, even if no place is obviously given to that in current day srilanka. Murders have been neglected.
Latter culture has been familiar with lankens ince the war went on to 30 long years.

What kind of kindergarten logic is this? According to bond scam Ranil, tax increases were the compensation for MR debts. Bond Scam as far as we could see, was if MR could asset strip the nation, RW demonstrating that he could asset strip better than MR. And so he did! May be simple Simon could volunteer to make up for his pedestal God’s misdemeanour.

How did RW “asset strip” the nation? Can you please explain? This is something that even the Commissioners after deliberating for 10 months, failed to observe. Perhaps you have some extraordinary supernatural powers that makes you see fiction, especially those “Sirasa Mega Stories just before News” as truly believable facts!

Simon De Silva: Earlier yahapalanaya politicicans, (Remember Penthouse Ravi said If recovered what Mahinda Looted that would be enough to pay the Budget deficit, so that is a thief talking). said, Mahinda Looted $ 18 billion. Now they blame about the loans. Compare how much this govt is in debt. They want another $ 5 billion next year. what for. Probably to give to MPs to develop their area. In other words, MPs need money to run the 2019 election campaign and to spend for the area. Dr. W.A. Wijewardane who is saying this govt because of their stupid economic policies has screwed up the country. there is inflation, growth rate is Zero,. what ever Central Bank says, world bank says, next year the growth will be worse than this year. Ranil came to screw up rajapakses and their henchmen for what they did. but, withing 40 days in the govt, Ranil screwed up the whole country. PResident supported it by dissolving the govt.

But best would to support UNP-SLFP national govt.
Since we dont have better options. No good leaders to run by their own.

If we had Rajapakshes, we would have been cornered with trade embargos by today.
Please underestimate today s achievements. No doubt bond scam was a mistake and loss, … if they are ready punish them, we need to see it forward.

At least we dont see, people have been abducted and killed since ballige putha Rajapakshe is chased away.

Simon de Silva according to you the Rajapakses left debts to the country, so it is was necessary for Yahalapalaya to come in and create the bond scam and loot and plunder the economy. Let me correct my comment again.

What I meant is, varioius kind of high profile losses made by Rajapakshe and left behind unsolved made the successors very upset so that they could not react by making proper decisions when at all making such appointments. The kind of appointments can occur in developed EU countries easily. Now Prez commission has analysed it, I think so long the current men in power we can expect peppetrators will be punished in compliance with prevailing laws. No doubt, that should be… but in the same time as some loud here, Rajapakshe high crimes such as killing the innocient ones should also be treated with the same spoon.
if convicted, even former first lady should be imprisoned together with his two sons and her husband

KAlupahan you just try to clean the dirty thieves of UNP. Why don’t you statistics about the loans. money swaps, bonds, treasury bills issued and money printing, took by yahapalana and the same by Mahinda Rajapakse. Compare that with the projects Mahinda Rajapakse did and Yahapalana have done. Yahapalana has done nothing. HERE RANIL BEAT PRESIDENT TO THE AG OFFICE MEANS, PRESIDENT ALSO SHOULD HAVE GONE TO THE AG OFFICE BECAUSE PRESIDENT IS ALSO CORRUPT, PROBABLY CONNECTED TO THE BOND SCAM.

As long as Ranil Wickramsinghe who is a liar with a limitless greed for power is PM, there will be NO convictions for the Bond scam as Ranil will block all investigations and AG’s office as he has done with corruption investigations against Rajapaksa brothers and sons.

Ranil Wickramasinghe must get out NOW – or be impeached NOW!

Certainly not Premadasa junr. His educational credentials are questionable at best, his associates, supporters/sponsors & cronies are dodgy & his old man’s legacy of shortsighted policies doesn’t give him any credibility because throughout his political career so far, he has not made any significant contribution. We had the Bandaranayake clan, Rajapakse clan & now the Srisena clan, & definitely not the Premadasa clan once again exploiting the gullible masses of SL.

Thrisu, what kind of idiot you should….

you want Premadasa to take over. Man, he is no better to Mahinda.
I saw a video, the bugger son yelled at some villagers in calling interviews. There loudly as his father could do, the bugger son shouted at those innocient poor familes, you guys never supported us so you dont need to come after us … and the like was said … I heard, Ballige putha Rajapakshe did no better Ranasinghes… going little beyond that… Anyways, I believe, everything will be allright with the current men,
since they now know in the looted and torn country, in both grand parties there are culprits. Meaning not that both are capable of doing single party govt.
So I b elieve, best would be to allow the current govt to move on… there so many things will have to be debated before being taken up.
That is a good Thrisu, you the stupid man even if you are a leader to research group in LONDON. I respect your academic acheivements, but I hate the way you guys, just give up so easily. We dont have good leaders with good qualities are connected with the long held war and hhaving them killed in the war.

Sam, simple Simon, you get hurt and sensitive if no body else follow your stupid and blind path haa. What a lousy UNP organizer in Germany you are? I hope and pray that Mr Premadasa’s grass root supporters will elevate his son to replace the present set of rogues in UNP higher echelons. He would be the most appealing to people, and none of your scam scum. Sam, what is your cut from the bond scammers?

          • 3
            1

You got it fully wrong Mr Thrisu. I am no UNP or any other party organizer. Bond scam can happen everywhere. At the time, this govt came into being, there had been loads of unanswered huge issues. Debts ranging to billions were long over due and I though believe it is a mistake done by PM but he is relatively no corrupt as Rajapakshes or any others down there. I have no idea about Premadasa. As I got to know from my friends down there, he has no whatsoever proper knowledge than his oratary skills inherited by father.
So, what do you want – an another Rajapakshe style man to take over or grand coalition to continue ?
I would agree the latter.. since i dont see any better option. But I hope not just perpetrators of bond scam but all other high crimes incl. Rajapapases son’s day light murders to be punished with maximum law enforcement.
I am no into lanken politics, but I would support any one who I think relatively the best leader. I dont support JVPrs since my mates had been burnt down on tyre pyres in late 80ties. That i can never forgive.

Pemadasa can work only in one ministry. His only boasting is about his father and how many udagamas he would built next year. I herd his ministry maintenace need R 100 million. He likes only that ministry. Why do we need a ministry for that. Hand over it to a agency under engineering and construction ministry. Can not you understand how wasteful and how stupid that ministry is. I heard there are EIGHT ministries like that. Minister only like his ministry and nothing else.

It is true that Ranil should go but who will replace Ranil. We should look at the dangers of replacing by Rajapakse. So it is necessary to stop Rajapakse coming back to power. Yes UNP is not good but Joint Opposition is very bad. Do we have an alternative? I don’t know the answer?

      • 4
        0

Ranil has to go & the Rajapaksas must be stopped. Why can’t both things be done?

Of course we have alternatives. My3 has, at times, proved ineffective, but I’ve never really thought ill of him.

As for the UNP, they too have good people. I have nothing really against Sajith Premadasa. Since some have objected to him, let’s pass him over.

What has anybody got against Lands Minister, Gayantha Karunatilleka (Elpitiya) ? Also, you have Eran Wickremaratne, Harsha de Silva (Colombo), Ruwan Wijewardena (Gampaha), Mangala Samaraweera(Matara), Buddhika Pathirana (Akuressa, Matara District)

Yes, Buddhika Pathirana (MBBS – but not a practising Doctor). Him more than others. He’s topped the Matara District list three times, ahead of Mangala Samaraweera and Sagala Ratnayake, but not appointed even a Deputy Minister. Age – something like 41 years.

Yes, it’ll be said that he’s too young. How old is Emmanuel Macron, President of France? Younger than that.

Some others I have named, it’ll be said that they’re not Buddhists. Can you explain yourself, please Ajith?

The person I’d really like you to try explaining away is Buddhika Pathirana. I’ve not even seen him in person, but I’ve been told he’s excellent. His father-in-lw is supposed to be a not so savoury character, although clever: Hemantha Warnakuulasuriya. There – I’m giving you points. Let me see if you claim that to be the reason why he’s unfit.

        All tosh! There ARE alternatives!

          Sinhala_Man,

On your list of good people within the UNP, what about Harin Fernando?
When the UNP was adrift in the face of the Rajapaksa juggernaut, my memory is that it was HF who bravely gave up a safe seat in parliament to contest for the CM post (Badulla?) and won. So it would have been natural for him to be brought to the fore within the UNP as a new generation politician. I thought he carried both Buddhists and the significant population of non-Buddhists in his province, so he could do so nationally. But I don’t hear much about him these days. What is going on?

I think Harsha de Silva would be OK, but he is probably a bit too right of center for a developing country like SL. Also, in politics, charisma plays a subtle role for some voters, and I don’t know if de Silva has that kind of appeal.

      Dear K. Anaga,

Do you say that about Dr Viremabahu Karunaratne as well? Or is it that you do not classify him as a “politician” because he never says the things that he ought to, if he is to attract votes? Plus he may be a bit mad, and far too educated – not one PhD, but two, and knowledge of various things outside those teaching subjects of his.

He was not allowed to teach many -sacked from Pera University for protesting against the duplicity of the sort of politicians whom you decry. Ask his Maths pupil, Rajan Hoole. But absolutely honest himself. Also, very much a Marxist. I’ve never had time for Marxists, but I believe many of them are sincere people. Not Stalin, and now not Putin.

But Mikhail Gorbachev – what a wonderful man!

The average Sri Lankan will imagine that Gorby and Donald Trump are both white men who should be made use of, but not trusted.

We are all black fellows (or at least dark brown) – most of our ancestors obviously from South India. But we Sinhalese want to claim that we are Aryans. Our great enemies are not the rogues, but “those Tamil guys”. Mind they will not use the word “guy”!

We just must stop being obsessed with race and language (including English!).

Yes, Anaga. Let’s stop supporting rogues, and identify honest guys. I’m still a bit scared of the JVP, but better those guys than our current leaders. But see my earlier comment on this article where I have tried to show that there are (as far as I know) honest guys even in the UNP.

Lastly, I think that Sampanthan and Wiggie are decent enough fellows, but you’ve got to identify younger people. WE will soon be pushing up daisies.

Besides, none of them are familiar with external politics. This somawansa their man said loudly before he left the party.

After all those arguments we had, I finally agree with the EU gin-band. Ranil is not a good man but he is the best out of a bad lot. In fact the only one that we can even consider. I would rather kill myself than vote for Mahinda, JVP or SlFP. Even the wise leftists agree. One of them told me, ‘I f you don’t vote for Ranil and someone else comes to power, don’t say that I did not warn you. We are ready to take over. We will do that gladly. Now think about it. Do you want us in power. I don’t think so. Even if I were you, I would not like it.” So guys, remember that there is a risk in everything. Ranil carries the least risk.

    • 1
      1

      Dear Singhalese pundit,

I may vote JVP -I’ve said that already, and you’ve thanked me for it. I haven’t really decided.

But this leitmotif of yours is not really going to help. I must say that you gave me a longer, well-argued answer once before, and perhaps, it does more good than ill to remind us that the JVP is an alternative. However, please try to tie your recommendation to the context each time you want to make it.

But thanks for consistently reminding people. It’s not really going to sway me. I’m likely to vote either for My3 or the JVP. What makes me dither about My3 nominees is the woman whom he chose for Akuressa. Colombo Telegraph ran that story saying that Saruwe Liyanage Sunil’s wife had celebrated the guys raping of his hundreth virgin with a party, to which the Deputy Inspector of Police for the area had been invited.

As for the JVP, apart from their past record, which I’m willing to overlook, they used coercive tactics over SAITM.

How can we decide when we haven’t still seen the ballot paper for our Council. I understand that SOME will have preferences as of old; others will have the newer system which did away with preferences. I believe that confusion is what almost led to NOT EVERY council being originally listed for early 2018. Now we all know that we can vote on the 10th of February 2018.

Messrs Deshapriya, Abeysekera and Hoole: could you please give us that information without too much delay. In my case, I care enough to digest all data even if given 24 hours before voting, but do we need clearer proof than the composition of the present parliament to realise that the majority of voters are incompetent at casting a vote?

So far, you’ve done a difficult job well, Elections Commission. Now attend to that last great need: what is the system in each council?

      “Vote to JVP..”

How do you propose to get rid of them once they are entrenched/consolidated their position since they believe in one party Pol Pot state starting at year zero.

It may be good solution to its cronies however its a very bad solution to the people.

OK Ranil, what happens next? Lets see some action. Beating MS to the AG’s office is not good enough.
In fact, MS himself needs to be investigated for his hand in his family’s dodgy dealings.

You have lost all credibility, even though you maybe the cleanest of a dirty lot, so before you go down in history as just another ineffective leader, do the right thing & ensure justice is done by putting all these white collar criminals, including the small fish, without exemptions, behind bars. At least you will then be remembered as a reformist.

Don’t depend on JVP. We have to find some honest and genuine leaders who can become Statesmen, to run and control the main two parties.

    • 1
      3

Yes JVP is also racist party. As long as the political system rely on Sinhalese leadership you won’t find a genuine leader to govern this nation. UNP or SLFP or JVP are not prepared or willing to create a Tamil or Muslim President or Prime Minister (Buddhist Fundamentalism will not allow), we are not going to find a genuine honest leader.

      • 2
        0

        Dear Ajith,

That the JVP used to be somewhat racist is true. However, many Tamils whom I’ve asked have assured me that they are now no longer so.

        I don’t really know.

But let’s try to be more rational.

between yourselves remembering the role that we played to chase

or a mixture of BOTH GOOD AND BAD . Good governance is not only
letting the thieves steal and running after them to catch but also
not to let anyone even imagine of coming near your security safe !
Don’t you have body guards who protect you twenty four hours
at public expense ? Is it to let anyone harm you and then run after

laundering , as his MINISTER OF FINANCE ? And then Arjuna as

The problem is RW,MR, and the President are no different; basically they like and enjoy the perks of power and take the country for a ride. The parliamentarians are very well looked after with fat salaries, expensive cars, good food, very good pensions, extensive foreign travel,
very little participation and presence in the parliament during debate, etc, etc, etc.
The country is broke, malnutrition poor medical care and hunger is rampant.
This seems to be the destination of Sri Lanka.
      WAKE UP.

How can you have faith in any system or commission of Inquiry that has allowed the chief perpetrator to get away scot free. The then governor has clearly stated that he was following the instructions of the PM. But the investigation has turned a blind eye to this. They called the AG to question the PM. They prepared the questions in advance and gave them to the PM before he appeared at the commission. Everyone will get away. This is farce.
This is a sad pitiful nation with a populace of even sadder and subservient slavish devotion to the political masters. This country is gasping its last few breaths. Send your children away from this sorry place. At least our next generation will have a fresh start.

So the Bond Commission has let the people down once again.

  • 3
    0

This PM, as someone said above , is treating the people with contempt. When the “Bond Scam” first came to light, he appointed a “Committee” of three Lawyers from his own UNP. That was like: “Horage Ammagen Pena Ahanawa” type. What happened to that “Report”, he (PM) together with his “Buddies” engineered? Was it tabled in Parliament and where has he put it? Then came the “COPE” investigation. What did this PM do. He got one member resigned and appointed another stooge MP, who even wrote a “Book” justifying the “Bond Scam”, perhaps with financial assistance from the “Culprits” and also got his UNP MPs to place “Foot Notes” to the report. He then VIOLATED all the norms of Parliamentary Procedures and sent that report of COPE direct to the AG. That COPE report was handed over to the Speaker and he was the proper person to decide what to do with it . With all the facts coming to light, he (PM) even recommended the “extension” of services and “Re-appointment” of Arjuna Mahendran, as the Governor of the SLCB, ignoring the President’s advice to get Mahendran to resign. Next he widely publicized that he (PM) is volunteering to give evidence before the Presidential Commission. That “evidence” came in as a “Question and Answer” (pre drafted by the Commission) in an “Affidavit” format. The team from the AG’s Office to assist the Commission was “prevented” from questioning him; but AG himself came for the “First Time” to ask him “clarifications” . So, now does this PM, with this “history” of events trying to PORTRAY himself as the “HERO” of the “BOND ROBBERY INVESTIGATION”? Of course, he will, because he still thinks our PEOPLE are DUMB and could easily be treated with CONTEMPT. NOT SO Mr. PM. Those PEOPLE and DAYS are FAST VANISHING. Please tell your colleague Mr. Ajith Perera, that Deputy Minister, his ATTEMPTS to “CLEAR” you will also fail. Tell him also BBC too knows it well.

CT, did RW really brag as you report?

Then, why did he not make a public statement in Dec 2016 to that effect that he has forwarded a copy of COPE report to AG Dept, and for what? To use as toilet tissues?
And what did he instruct the respective Minister ……..? To issue a counter-instruction to AG’s Dept to ignore the report and recommendations?
This bragging business is not going to break the ice, and I hope this time the voters will throw Ranil and is whole shindig, lock stock and barrel, out into the Beiri Lake to join the other garbage and flotsome. If we get Dappula Livera as the AG, hope that his impotent chief would go sick leave, we can also look forward to some proper legal actions against the scammers including RW for his dereliction of duty and public accountability, as well as dumbass naivety for trusting the words of hardened rogues.

What a bloody joke. This fellow Ranil is the mastermind behind Bond scam and COPE theatrics. This fellow , guided by his cronies and school buddies are ruining our nation, He has launched dirty projects to make his wallet fatten to face the next Presidential election.

Huh? You are are the one who appointed RK as the finance minister in the 1st place. RK also hold a deputy leaders position in the party. Why did you put a sketchy character like RK in important positions in the 1st place? RK caused serious controversies back in the 2001 – 2004 UNF gov. You don’t get any bragging rights Mr. RW. Why, why why on earth did a group of parties promising good governance in Jan 8th 2015 appoint a pile of human waste like RK as the finance minister?

We have been led to believe that ‘scams’ are the rule rather than exception from the 2004 Tsunami scam onwards. Of course there were scam earlier like Cement Factory, Gal Oya, Telecom, Railways, Irrigation, Roadways, Mahaweli and the like.
The bond scam is the first to reach the possible prosecution stage. Prosecution is easily manipulated and/or intimidated.
It is prudent to let the process run its course. Let us not panic.
MR and GR have already started the ‘danger of reconciliation’ as a distraction. They avoid the corruption issue.

      Very true, K. Pillai.

You a Tamil, me a Sinhalese. Let us not get distracted by the Rajapaksa tactics which are based on chauvinism and xenophobia.

I don’t know Tamil at all; you as a guy who is the minority in THIS country, probably know some Sinhalese. Thanks for learning my language. I’ve looked round the Internet for things like the oldest language in the world. Yes, Tamil is listed as that. These things just don’t matter in our day to day lives, though.

Spain and Catalonia. How is that problem different from ours between Sri Lanka and Tamils? In this respect: if Catalonia becomes independent it doesn’t pose any real threat to the rest of Spain.

If you get your Eelam, the Sinhalese will justifiably be afraid of your union with Tamil Nadu. Let’s try to talk rationally on subjects of this sort. How many distract by then talking about “caste”. I’m sure that there are real problems there as well, but they are secondary – or even less important. If I say “tertiary” I may be taking unwarranted liberties with the English language.

Yes, Pillai. Let US be friends. Let’s throw those professional politicians out. They seem never to retire. Sacked from one party, they join the other – which thy were so critical of. Examples: S.B. Dissanayake, Dayasiri Jayasekera, Dilan Perera.

Take Dilan’s Marxist father: Marshall Perera. I know Marshall – a really good man. Few care to make such distinctions.

And Pillai: let’s ALL vote, but only after thinking.

    Dear Prime Minister

You are wholly responsible for this unprecedented loss and damage to my motherland.

You were wholly aware of the Fake Economist Banker Mahedren and his son in laws frauds. You have hit below our belt and we are straving while the crook’s Mahendren’s family are bathing in our billions.

You are paying our livelihood to your cronies Mahendran and the other demented old codger to enjoy their company . If you are the Mr. Clean and if you have any moral standard you should send these crooks to the countries from where they came and not snatch our bread and butter.

Attention UNPrs, if you love your party make it victorious by defeating it (in the coming LG elections).

Because top has lost credibility & corrupt to the core & president has proved himself impotent.

Rajitha and Champika had objected to the appointment of Mahendran. In response Ranil had given an assurance that he will take the responsibility for his decision. The Commission has put the blame fairly and squarely on Mahendran. So according to the assurance given by PM, he should take the responsibility and resign.

President is also guilty for the Bond Scam because he covered up the thing by dissolving the Parliament probably on orders from PM before COPE report was presented to the Parliament.

I like to ask the President ‘Sarama endagena Yahapalanaya gena katha karanna puluwanda’ (can the President talk about Yahapalanaya wearing a sarong)

It says, Arjun Mahendran has left the country that is how the laws works, justice works in that country. That says a lot about the CLEAN MAN’s contribution to the country. they lie to the newspapers and they media publish it. what a country. Readers and voters are how stupid. Why President is not part of the this sinister game.

  • 3

Didn’t Mahendran tell the Commission that he acted on instructions from PM?

    • 2
      0

Instructions to AM was to increase the funds to be raised from Bonds up to Rs. 10 Billion. There were no instructions from the Premier’s office to Aloysius to bribe and get inside information!!
The way you people attack the Premier is laughable….he may not be the best Premier that a country could have….but he certainly cannot be categorized as a ‘crook’. As the Commissioners have pointed out, his weakness is trusting people whom he appointed. But on the other hand, how was the Premier to know that Aloysious and his cronies had been benefiting from CB Bond issues with the network they had established within the system? Obviously, it had been going on even in the past, during MR’s time as well when that slimy CB Governor Cabraal headed the institution. That is why, the country faced such a massive loss on the Greek Bond issue, which too should be investigated.

So, Ranil is saying both he himself and President got together and fooled the Sri lankans again. So, Sri lanka will be the only that allowed a Mafia boss who became economic hitmen to the country was still ruling after everything. PResident becsame just another dumb puppet .

Now the ball is in AG’s court. Out source with a reputed firm for a full forensic audit from 2008 to 2016.
This will be cheaper, faster and have better integrity than doing it locally.

If Ranil is a respectable man, by now he should have been resigned. Because, president did not take decisions just based on what others said. He waited until the experienced judges conclude it. That is based on evidence and not because what he said every where or in the parliament. A respectable parliament should bring no confidence motions against both the UNP party (40 politicians involved in the bond scam), former Finance minister who doe snot quit or expelled yet and the Prime minister who gave instructions, tried to cover up it as best he can. Even now he is busy covering the Fiasco in Sri lankan air lines. President is not a smart politician. He should remember that Jayalalitha who said that In politics you have only alliances and not friendships. President is showing his back to voters who trusted him.

Dumb Native Vedda: It is your CLEAN MAN who came to the govt to establish YAHAPALANAYA. He established it within 40 days. IF he said, this statement is taking A SHOT AT PRESIDENT SAYING YOU ARE ALSO CORRUPT BUT YOU SACRIFICED ME.
Ranil said, he would give 10 million jobs. He gave jobs SL ari lines, now it is bankrupt. Ranil came to catch thieves. but, after 40 days of the govt, he was covering up and was trying to escape and even now.

“Ranil said, he would give 10 million jobs.”

And you believed him although he is a politician of nearly 50 years.
No wonder you are affectionately known in this forum as “DIMWIT”.

“He gave jobs SL ari lines, now it is bankrupt. Ranil came to catch thieves. but, after 40 days of the govt, he was covering up and was trying to escape and even now.”

Namal baby hired most of the members of Sri Lankan Airlines to work for him at Temple trees. Have you ever demanded a value for money audit in the past 15 years? Did you care to review the business plan of the bankrupt Mihin Air before it was established. Did you question the clan about some of its members using it as their private jets.

What the hell were you doing all these years?

STUPID NATIVE VEDDA: MAhinda Rajapakse did not come saying I would establish yahapalanaya. HE was living on the war victory. IT is your CLEAN MAN who promised one Million jobs and prosecuting of the Rajapakse govt thieves. HE did not prosecute the thieves instead he got caught within 40 days. In order to give one million jobs (not 10) he filled SL airlines with his people. Now it is bankrupt. MAhinda Rajapakse bankrupted in how many years. this Bond Scam Ranil could not hold it even that long.
Ranil di danother first. His peole changed Foreign Exchange Control act to save accused ministers.
Ranil’s govt or the Yahapalanaya for the time in history, that is a first, INCREASED THE DEBT LIMIT OF THE COUNTRY. Mahinda Rajapaske built roads and airports, harbours etc., What did Ranil do ?. STEALING.
Sri lanka is almost bankrupt now. Next year they want bonds of $ billion dollars. Bonds re very dangerous can crash the stock market and send the country to bankruptcy.

“So the Bond Commission has let the people down once again.”

Not really, it is what Commissions are meant to do, for example, Three Presidential Commission of Inquiry into Involuntary Removals to investigate “disappearances” between 1987 and 1990 and several other commissions including LLRC.

What a liar Ranil. What did you do with the COPE recommendations? Please enlighten us. It is on public record that Parliament was prorogued deliberately to prevent the COPE Committtee from making its final recommendations. If RW claims that he forwardedCOPErecommendations, the question is to whom, and why he didn’t release it to the public. In his desperation he is now concocting to cover up.
    Absolute disgrace as P M

Ranil has a history of supporting murderers, thieves, criminals. Now he is upset. So, he took a shot at president. Remember gonawila Sunil, the Justice of Peace. RAVI the Money Launderer changed the foreign Exchange act to be acquitted by himself.

CT wants to specialize in heading making. But anyway Ranil is beating (his drum) only after New King swung his sword and chopped off Ranil’s tongue.

Very few commentators these days are hard core pro-Yahapalanaya or hard core-pro Chitanta Joint Comedy Club. There is basically nobody fully believing Ranil on this statement. That was the case with New King statement too, irrespective of which party they support. There were some supported the Commission report, who, though appeared to be the past supporters of the Chitanta Comedy Club, eagerly looking for at least a crack in the Yahapalanaya. They are not sure if the Old King had passed all dangers and now trouble free to jump in White Van Politics. So they cautiously celebrated the PCoI report where New King swung his sword on UNP and Ranil’s report here because he beat New King.
My evaluation is based on CT comments. CT may not be the real representative of the mass. Commentators are critical orientated, when they see a piece of information. But Mass shows subordinate behavior for information received and mostly willing to believe it and accept it.
Anyhow, the interesting part on CT is more and more comments are taking a unified direction or a unanimous-ness.

These new reports, without doubt, LG election aimed at. But the question is, do the people buying these stunts anymore? As the governments were reluctant to educated people feeling that may turn out to be dangerous for their elevated high position, the people appears to self-teaching and/or self-learning. The famous maxim “You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.” which thought after the 70 years of freedom, doesn’t apply to Lankawe, seems to will apply to Lankawe too.
