Countering Wahabism – Part II

The impulse to return to the roots – which could often lead to a bleak and bare puritanism – is not of course all that there is to Islam. It can be held that Islam is of all the great world religions pre-eminently a this-wordly religion – as distinct from the pre-eminently other-worldly religion of Buddhism – and that it is even more this-worldly than Christianity. It is a noteworthy fact that the varieties of puritanism engendered by Calvinism have endured for centuries in the West on a wide scale while nothing comparable has been seen in the Islamic world. Islam has been famously recalcitrant about branding dissentient sects as heresies, but it was quick to do so in the case of the early puritanical sect of the Kharijites. The record of Wahabism itself is significant in being unimpressive: though it is the official religion of Saudi Arabia, its adherents there are no more than 25%, and it will surely have nothing like its present salience elsewhere if not for the might of the petro-dollar. Perhaps a religion that promises solace and more than solace through gorgeous females in the next world cannot expect its adherents to stay buttoned up in this. The prospect for Puritanical versions of Islam is not bright.

Anyway the impulse to return to the roots to seek self-renewal is a profoundly human one, and in so far as Wahabism is a manifestation of that impulse it has to be respected. Furthermore there was a deep need in the Arabia of Wahab’s time to get rid of unIslamic accretions that were stifling Islam. Ernst Gellner in his book Muslim Society quotes a Muslim writer as stating that when ibn Saud decided in 1744 to champion the religious revival preached by Sheikh Wahab: “Orthodox Islam, especially among the bedouin of Najd, had degenerated into a multitude of superstitious practices, cults of tree and stone worship; tribal and customary law, for the most part, prevailed among the bedouin and sedentary population.. .. and had eroded the influence and primacy of Islamic Law …”.

Outside Arabia also the situation was not dissimilar in a good part of the Islamic world. To understand this we have to take count of an overwhelmingly important fact: Islam was spread for the most part not by the sword, which would have enabled the imposition of a rigid orthodoxy, but by the Sufi orders, the tariqas. Sufism, Islamic mysticism, itself represented a move away from rigid orthodoxy, and it took a long period before Imam Ghazali brought it within the fold of orthodoxy. We can suppose that evangelical Sufi orders showed a disposition to compromise with forms of local religiosity as that could facilitate conversions – a process seen also, I believe, in the spread of Christianity. The process of conversion by preaching, not by the sword, had in it an in-built tendency to move towards the heterodox, and tolerance towards unIslamic practices. There was a need therefore for a reformist purifying movement in a wide swath of the Islamic world during Sheikh Wahab’s time.

Honestly I cannot find much more to say in favor of Sheikh Wahab than that he represented an impulse to return to the roots for renewal and the conditions of the times in which he lived certainly warranted that. Perhaps something might be made of Gellner’s point that his reform movement came ahead of its time. It could have fared much better had it come at a propitious time when the movements to resist the West really got going in the Middle East. In that context his project for renewal through a return to the roots could have become a preparatory stage in a forward-looking movement to cope with the modernity represented by the West. But after the horrendous sacking of Kerbela in 1802 – in which one of the holiest sites of Islam was looted by the Wahabis and around 5000 innocent men, women, and children were indiscriminately butchered – the name of Wahab became mud in the wider Islamic world. It remained so, I can attest, in the orthodox Islamic Colombo household in which I was brought up in the first half of the twentieth century. That has changed in recent times, mainly it would appear, because of the might of the petro-dollar.

The sacking of Kerbela came ten years after the death of Sheikh Wahab, and furthermore there is no doubt that he would have disapproved of it. Here I have to make some observations on the point that what Sheikh Wahab preached was one thing and Wahabism is quite another thing. An important fact is that the Kerbela sacking was carried out by self-styled Wahabis, and it is also an important fact that the Taliban, Al Qaeda, Boko Haram, and the IS are all seen very widely as Wahabi clones. What is the explanation for this widespread perception of a nexus between Wahab and Wahabism? I think that the correct explanation was provided by Karen Armstrong in a 2014 article in the New Statesman.

The common factor between Sheikh Wahab and the clones is the insistence that their version of Islam, and theirs alone, is valid, which means that not only non-Muslims but Shias and also Sunni orthodox Muslims who don’t abide by the tenets of Wahab, will all be consigned to eternal hell-fire. At this point I must acknowledge that there is after all a distinction to be made between the Sheikh and his clones. He consigns all non-Wahabis to eternal hell-fire in the next world while his clones, particularly the IS, will put them to the sword in this world. I suppose that on the ground of that distinction Wahabi apologists like John Esposito and Natana de BasLong, big shots in the field of American Islamic studies, will hold that the Sheikh was a humane man. My conception of the humane, and that of all non-Wahabi Muslims, is a very different one. Anyway, Sheikh Wahab’s ferocious intolerance negated a well-established Islamic tradition – a tradition that held sway for 1200 years – of tolerance towards a wide variety of Islam, a tolerance that accords well with the conception of Islam as the most widely ecumenical of all the world religions.

I would give much importance to the common factor of irrationality between Sheikh Wahab and his clones. It is irrationality of an extreme order. Beliefs and practices that were hallowed in the Islamic world for 1200 years were declared unIslamic by him, after which declaration all those who failed to jettison those beliefs and practices would have to face eternal hell-fire. The plain fact is that the Sheikh and his followers were so much in the grip of irrationality that they were unable to distinguish between the veneration that Muslims accord to saints and edifices in the holy sites of Islam and the worship that they accord only to Allah. I must cite the instructive case of one of my antagonists. He knows Arabic, he has a sound command of the English language, he seems to be wellup in maths, he is very erudite on Islam – just the kind of person from whom we have to expect reasoned argument at the most sophisticated level. Instead, as proof that saint worsip is going on, he cites the fact that he saw with his own eyes an ex-Minister prostrate himself before the saint’s tomb at Devatagaha mosque. Obviously he cannot understand the simple distinction between veneration and worship. The extreme irrationality set off by the Sheikh can be very dangerous, as shown by the fact that it has led by a direct trajectory to the savage unIslamic idiocy of the IS. The nexus between Wahab and Wahabism is undeniable.

I can think of one argument why Wahabism should be countered and destroyed to the fullest extent that might be possible. It is an argument that should be irrefutable and irresistible to all Muslims like me who want Islam to make a major contribution towards the evolution of a humane universalist civilisation stretching across the globe. That contribution will not be possible if Wahabism comes to prevail as the Islamic norm instead of being the aberrant and abhorrent cult that it is at present. That would mean that every Muslim society accepts stoning to death as punishment for adultery because Sheikh Wahab sanctioned that. True, he did so reluctantly, but he did not advance the argument, the irrefutable argument, that such punishment has no sanction in the Koran, and no contradictory hadith can be allowed to override the word of Allah as revealed in the Koran. At present Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. If Wahabism becomes the Islamic norm, together with stoning to death as punishment, potential converts to Islam will wonder whether a religion that insists on so inhumanly gruesome a form of punishment can possibly be authentic. Almost certainly thereafter conversions to Islam will sink to zero.

Thank you for the cleat sand succinct write up on Wahhabism.

You are giving circumstantial support for the Wahhabi Iblis Hypothesis.

You were kind to Abdul Wahah, Slave of Allah, swt. However, he went against Allah, swt, instructions in the Holy Quran, and he should have known better? Why?

He was following Ibn Taymiah. Both Ibn Taymiah and Abdul Wahhab were following instructions of Iblis, Satan. and Abdul Wahhab were recruited by Iblis, Satan. That is why he went against the Quran in stoning thew women.

Killing of the Muslims, Karabala, is very Similar. Again instructions by Satan.

    Satan, misled Adam in Heaven.

So, thisa data supports the Amarasiri hypothesis, that the Wahhabies and their Clones are Followers of Satan, Iblis, and they will burn in Hell fire along with Iblis, Satan as per Islamic Theology.

    Iblis- in Islamic Theology..Devil (Islam)

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil_(Islam)

It is We Who created you and gave you shape; then We bade the angels prostrate to Adam, and they prostrate; not so Iblis; He refused to be of those who prostrate.
(Allah) said: “What prevented thee from prostrating when I commanded thee?” He said: “I am better than he: Thou didst create me from fire, and him from clay.”

    — Quran, sura 7 (Al-A’raf) ayat 11-12[15]’

Iblis was proud and considered himself superior to Adam, since Adam was made from clay and Iblis from smokeless fire.[1] For this act of disobedience, God cursed him to Jahannam (Hell/Purgatory) for eternity, but gave him respite until the Day of Judgment, after Iblis requested it.[16] Iblis obtained permission from God and vowed that he would use this time to lead all men and women astray to Hell. In this way, he would prove humanity’s inferiority, and justify his act of defiance.[citation needed] For refusing to abide by the will of God, Iblis was cast out of Heaven, and thereafter he was called “Shaytan” (Satan).

He said: “Give me respite till the day they are raised up.”

(Allah) said: “Be thou among those who have respite.”
He said: “Because thou hast thrown me out of the way, lo! I will lie in wait for them on thy straight way:
“Then will I assault them from before them and behind them, from their right and their left: Nor wilt thou find, in most of them, gratitude (for thy mercies).”
(Allah) said: “Get out from this, disgraced and expelled. If any of them follow thee,- Hell will I fill with you all.

    — Quran sura 7 (Al-Aʻraf), ayah 14-18
Although God grants the request, he also warns Satan that he would have no authority over his ‘ibād or “servants”.

“As for My servants, no authority shalt thou have over them:” Enough is thy Lord for a Disposer of affairs.

    — Quran, sura 17 (Al-Isra), ayah 65[18]
Such individuals had previously been mentioned in the Torah and the Gospel as the Elect.

The problem of Ulama and the Non-Intellectual Masses.

It is critical to equate Wahhabism to Iblisism, Satanism, inspired by Satan, Iblis, based on the actions of its founders and their followers.

The road to Islamic Age of Reason and Enlightenment is a long one, especially with so many Wahhabis and their clones.

Why was Satan,Iblis referenced 25 times in the Quran?

Modern philosophy is a branch of philosophy that originated in Western Europe in the 17th century, and is now common worldwide. It is not a specific doctrine or school (and thus should not be confused with Modernism), although there are certain assumptions common to much of it, which helps to distinguish it from earlier philosophy.

The 17th and early 20th centuries roughly mark the beginning and the end of modern philosophy. How much if any of the Renaissance should be included is a matter for dispute; likewise modernity may or may not have ended in the twentieth century and been replaced by postmodernity. How one decides these questions will determine the scope of one’s use of “modern philosophy.” This article will focus on the history of philosophy beginning from Rene Descartes through the early twentieth century ending in Ludwig Wittgenstein.

Here is some supporting information for your Hypothesis. ISIS and Wahhabism are linked, if Wahhabism is Islam. He pointed out that these terror organizations are motivated by an extremist Salafi ideology and claim that their atrocities represent Allah’s will and directives.

Iraqi Journalist Comes Out Against Claim That ISIS Has Nothing To Do With Islam

In an article titled “Does Terror Truly Have No Religion?” in the pro-Iranian Iraqi newspaper Al-Akhbar, Iraqi journalist Fadel Boula came out against the claim, which is frequently heard in the Arab world and outside it, that the terror of the Islamic State (ISIS) and its ilk is completely unrelated to Islam. He pointed out that these terror organizations are motivated by an extremist Salafi ideology and claim that their atrocities represent Allah’s will and directives.

The following are excerpts from his article:[1]

“[Does terror truly have no religion?] This slogan is uttered regarding terror, as though [terror] reflects a picture that is completely unrelated to its perpetrators’ religious affiliation, and as though there are no religious goals or values behind it, but only a state of insanity that causes those afflicted with it to run amok, unaware of what they are doing or what [they seek] to achieve by their actions – [actions] that disgust not only human beings but [even] the beasts of the jungle.

“The terror that is shaking the world today is not a natural disaster like a tornado, a thunderstorm or an earthquake, and it is not perpetrated by savage tribes. It is perpetrated by people who enlist [because they are] inspired by a religious ideology. [These people] advocate enforcing and spreading [this ideology as a set of] dogmatic principles that must be imposed by the force of the sword, and which [mandate] killing, expulsion and destruction wherever they go.

“Since its inception, this movement of terror has espoused a Salafi ideology that champions religious extremism, and brainwashed people of all ages have rallied around its flag, [people who were] trained to kill themselves and kill others in order to attain martyrdom.

“The terror organizations that act in the name of religion were born when [the mujahideen] declared Islamic jihad against the Soviet forces in Afghanistan. It was the Saudi sheikh Osama bin Laden who laid the cornerstone for the first [terror] cell, which he named Al-Qaeda. Later he called to launch a war in the name of religion, and young believers, influenced by fatwas of extremist [clerics], especially Saudi ones, flocked from the Muslim lands [to Afghanistan].

“[Then, Abu Mus’ab] Al-Zarqawi formed a branch of Al-Qaeda in Iraq, which, calling itself ‘the Islamic State in Iraq,’ recently settled in the city of Mosul and united with its counterpart in Syria. Thus, a scary organization [namely ISIS] suddenly appeared, which advertises itself as the bearer of Islam’s message and banner. [Emulating the early] Islamic conquests, [this organization] invaded Iraq and Syria and appointed a Caliph for the Muslims: Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, who settled in Mosul and showed its people what [it is like] to be ruled by a government [that is a throwback to] 1,400 years ago, in terms of the treatment [they received] and the plunder of their lands. The invaders attacked the populace of Mosul and eastern Syria, arrested them by the hundreds, and took a sword to their necks, and later singled out the Christians among them and offered them two options: either convert to Islam or pay the poll tax, as happened to their forefathers when the Arabs attacked their lands in the days of the Caliph ‘Umar Al-Khattab [583-644 AD].

When [the Christians] rejected this humiliation, [ISIS] seized their property, expelled them from their historic home, the province of Ninveh, and sent them to wander destitute under the skies, seeking rescue and safety.

“As for the Yazidis, their plight was and remains an historic disaster that was inflicted upon them by the God-fearing Caliph [Al-Baghdadi] when he applied to them the verse pertaining to infidels, namely offering them two options: to [either] embrace Islam, or die and have their money, women and children seized. We keep seeing images of innocent people being killed and beheaded by these terrorists, who butcher their victims while crying out “in the name of Allah the merciful” and “Allah akbar.” All these crimes are [ostensibly] carried out with Allah’s approval, and they are perpetrated by those who praise Allah day and night and who pray fervently and do everything according to His will.

“When the terrorists blew up the World Trade Center and several airplanes, killing thousands of victims, Osama bin Laden, surrounded by his people, said on television: ‘This is a victory from Allah.’ And now ISIS is bragging about killing innocent people in Paris, saying that it was ‘done with Allah’s approval,’ and threatening that the next attack will be in the U.S., Allah willing. And [Sheikh Yusouf] Al-Qaradhawi and others like him pray and hope that, in the wake of this terrorist momentum, a day will arrive when Muslims inundate Europe and subdue it to Islam. Is this not enough to convince [us] that terror [does] have a religion?”

Hypothesis: Wahhabies and their clones follow Iblis, Satan.

This is what they are doing, the followers if Iblis, Satan. Part 1.

Prominent Saudi Journalist: Extremism, Takfir Are Everywhere In Saudi Arabia, And The Authorities Are Doing Little To Stop This

In a two-part article in the Saudi government daily Al-Watan, journalist Qenan Al-Ghamdi, the former editor of Al-Watan and of the government daily Al-Sharq, harshly criticized the extremism in Saudi Arabia, which he said is present in every mosque and school and is constantly being spread by preachers, clerics, teachers and parents. The authorities, he added, do almost nothing to fight this extremism that is constantly seeping into Saudi society; on the contrary, they even give it a platform and help to promote it. This extremism is what makes Saudi youths especially susceptible to the extremist ideology of organizations, such as ISIS, he said. He wondered why, despite its awareness of the dangers of terrorist ideology, Saudi Arabia still has no law that criminalizes it.

The following are translated excerpts from both parts of the article:[1]

Qenan Al-Ghamdi (image: Saudi Gazette, Saudi Arabia)

“There is nothing new [under the sun]! Since the takfiri terror attacks began to occur in our streets, mosques and institutions, we have been condemning [its perpetrators] and calling them criminals, deviant, Khawarij,[2] etc. After every success of the security [forces] in exposing dormant or active terrorist cells – and these successes are too numerous to count – we praise the members of the security forces… and are proud of them and do everything we can to support them. Yet we do not do anything helpful and effective to assist the efforts of the Interior Ministry in the security and ideological [domains]…

“What the Senior Clerics Council [Saudi Arabia’s supreme religious body], and other relevant bodies, are expected to do is carry out a critical reading of the [takfiri] ideology, correct it and comment on it – yet nothing significant [has been done in this domain]. Most [imams], from their mosque pulpits every Friday, continue to hurl accusations of heresy at Muslim groups that live among us and also at the People of the Book [meaning Christians in this case], many of whom work in our country. The [imams] curse and hurl invective at them.

Those we call ‘preachers and lovers of knowledge’ are still doing this in their lectures and sermons – and some of them are employees of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and work under its supervision. [Moreover], television channels continue to host them, giving them an opportunity to spread this poison, which reaches every home, every eye and every ear. Prohibitions and excessive strictness still dominate most areas of life, even when there is no clear evidence in the pure and genuine [texts of] the Koran or the Sunna that the prohibitions exist.

“Our sons are still marching en masse to become cannon fodder in civil wars and [to serve as] criminal murderers in the ranks of ISIS in every war or terrorist crime around the world. [Saudi youths] form the majority in every arena of so-called jihad. The wellsprings of extremism and fanaticism still [exist] everywhere in our country, to the extent that some boys and girls in our schools accuse other boys and girls of heresy or of straying from the right path just for mentioning some pictures [they liked] or some movies they saw. This is because some of their teachers still instill in them the notion that every source of pleasure in life is forbidden, [even if it is actually] permitted, and because some of their illiterate or nearly-illiterate mothers and grandmothers attend lectures by so-called women preachers who entrench extremism and fanaticism [in their minds].

Moreover, many of the women who attend such women’s forums are excited by what they heard… and share it with groups of women on social media. These are the mothers of families and the educators of the [next] generation, at home and in school, and some of them even become muftis and preachers [themselves]!! Many men are also subject to the same influences – so much so that some of them avoid listening to the national anthem or the musical inserts on news programs, and they are willing to preach and spout prohibitions in every forum, market and street.

“Consequently, many men and women have become preoccupied with [scrutinizing] others – their neighbors, acquaintances and friends – [and asking]: Is he Sunni or Shi’ite? Does he observe the non-obligatory fasts? Does he pray the [supererogatory] Duha prayer? How does he or she dress? Does he watch movies and [television] series? Does he shave his beard? Does she style her eyebrows? Does he do this? Does he do that? As though Allah appointed them to supervise His creatures, interfere in their affairs and assess their intentions…

“So far, despite our awareness of all the dangers of takfir and despite the shameful crimes that the country has witnessed, we [Saudis] have not found in all this a logical and intellectual justification for approving a law that would criminalize sectarianism, racism, takfir and everything that weakens [our] national unity. Even the Shura Council [the Saudi Parliament] ducked [the issue] with ridiculous and ludicrous excuses.

“Islam does not allow to kill a person, and in fact forbids this, regardless of [the person’s] religion or beliefs, unless he committed a crime that mandates killing him. Islam does not allow, and even prohibits, accusing a person of heresy as long as he recites ‘there is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his Messenger,’ for his account [is to be settled] by Allah [alone]. Islam does not allow prohibiting what Allah completely permitted. Islam does not allow you to exhibit hostility towards anyone who did not originally display overt enmity towards you.

“The [Saudi] state maintains amicable ties with all the world’s countries, excluding the aggressive Zionist Israel, and this does not contradict Saudi Arabia’s status as a path-breaking Arab Islamic state that respects all the Islamic ethnicities and sects and all those residing within its [borders] who come from all parts of the world and belong to different ethnicities, sects and religions… and there’s nothing wrong with this. Islam, via its justice, mercy and tolerance, grants protection to all people, as long as they respect its ways, serve them, benefit them and derive benefit from them…

“All the above is absolutely true. Consider this, [reader,] and then you will be entitled to ask: How will we wipe out terror when its sources come in successive [waves], flooding the eyes the ears and the minds? Moreover, we condemn the Internet and repeatedly say that recruitment [for terror] is done via [this platform]. This is completely incorrect, because we are the ones who filled [people’s] minds with extremism and fanaticism, before and after the Internet, whereas the incitement of ISIS and its ilk only awakens the admiration [for extremist ideology] that is already deep-rooted in the minds and hearts of the youth and makes them easily susceptible to every call to jihad.

“Let us leave aside those already brainwashed by this ideology, for the Ministry of Interior is handling them, but let us act to stop the creation [of more minds of the same kind]. This is the challenge, and it is within our capacity, should we so desire. Anyone opposing this, whoever he may be, has, I believe, shameful intentions [to undermine] the state’s unity and existence and seeks to destroy it – and this is the grave danger.”

You are the first muslim who is scared to be in a muslims name. So, you have a christian Name. Tamils do that. they get Sinhala names.

The big meteorite in Mecca is a Idol. Blow that up first.

WE transcend Buddha looking at the statue. I am pretty sure, christians do the same.

Muslims did not do that because, Mohomad did not want other tribes, other than his tribe to see his face. If other tribes saw the mohomad’s face, others would not have bent to mohomad’s preachings. YOu know how mohomad was countering the rejection among violent and dumb Arab tribes (I am talking about the arab socitey during the mohomad’s time).

Anyway, as you let down others faith and what ever it is…. Islam is Crap.

“Idol worshippers will be in hell fire,”

Are all those who do the same circumambulations around a building containing Idols and a rock will be considered idol Worshipers. The Pre-Islamic Idol worshipers dis that.

Circumambulation (from Latin circum around + ambulātus to walk) is the act of moving around a sacred object or idol. Circumambulation of temples or deity images is an integral part of Hindu and Buddhist devotional practice (known in Sanskrit as pradakśina or pradakshinaṇā).

Yes, they will end up in Hell Fire along with Iblis, Satan.

Idol Worshipping Practices that Crept into Islam

      Worship at the Ka’aba

According to the hadith, the Ka’aba in Mecca was a center of idol-worship, with the Ka’aba housing 360 idols:

Narrated ‘Abdullah bin Masud: The Prophet entered Mecca and (at that time) there were three hundred-and-sixty idols around the Ka’aba. He started stabbing the idols with a stick he had in his hand and reciting: “Truth (Islam) has come and Falsehood (disbelief) has vanished.”
      Sahih Bukhari 3:43:658

Prophet Muhammad discarded the 360 idols but retained for Islam, the Ka’aba with its Black Stone, justifying it with the claim that Abraham and Ishmael originally constructed it. However, there is no historical or archaeological evidence for the existence of the Ka’aba beyond a few hundred years before Muhammad’s lifetime. In fact, Muhammad’s own words disprove any connection he was attempting to make between Abraham, Ishmael and the Ka’aba.

The Qur’an says Abraham built it:

Remember We made the House a place of assembly for men and a place of safety; and take ye the station of Abraham as a place of prayer; and We covenanted with Abraham and Isma’il, that they should sanctify My House for those who compass it round, or use it as a retreat, or bow, or prostrate themselves (therein in prayer). Qur’an 2:125

Muhammed says it was built 40 years prior to the Temple at Jerusalem:

Narrated Abu Dhaar: I said, “O Allah’s Apostle! Which mosque was built first?” He replied, “Al-Masjid-ul-Haram.” I asked, “Which (was built) next?” He replied, “Al-Masjid-ul-Aqs-a (i.e. Jerusalem).” I asked, “What was the period in between them? He replied, forty years.
      Sahih Bukhari 4:55:636

The Temple at Jerusalem was built by Solomon around 958-951 BC. This implies that if Muhammad were to be believed, the Ka’aba must have been built approximately 998-991 BC. But Abraham lived around 2000 BC and both Abraham and Ishmael would have been dead by then.

If Muhammad is correct, then the Qur’an [and therefore Allah] is wrong. But if the Qur’an is correct in stating that Abraham and Ishmael built the Ka’aba, then Muhammad and the sahih hadith is wrong.

The Ka’aba has nothing to do with Abraham or Ishmael. It has a wholly pagan heritage. Egyptian Professor and foremost authority on Arabic literature, Dr. Taha Husayn, said the following:

The case for this episode is very obvious because it is of recent date and came into vogue just before the rise of Islam. Islam exploited it for religious reasons.

Also, according to sahih hadith, Muhammad even considered dismantling it:

Narrated Aswad: Ibn Az-Zubair said to me, “Aisha used to tell you secretly a number of things. What did she tell you about the Ka’ba?” I replied, “She told me that once the Prophet said, ‘O ‘Aisha! Had not your people been still close to the pre-Islamic period of ignorance (infidelity)! I would have dismantled the Ka’ba and would have made two doors in it; one for entrance and the other for exit.” Later on Ibn Az-Zubair did the same.
      Sahih Bukhari 1:3:128

Worship at the Ka’aba and the kissing of the Black Stone are just the first of many practices adopted from 7th century paganism and repackaged within monotheistic Islam.

      Veneration of the Black-stone

The pagan gods of pre-Islamic Arabia were worshiped in the form of rectangular stones or rocks. For example, the pagan deity ‘Al-Lat’, mentioned in Qur’an 53:19, and believed by pre-Islamic pagans to be one of the daughters of Allah, was once venerated as a cubic rock at Ta’if in Saudi Arabia. An edifice was built over the rock to mark it apart as a house of worship.

Al-lat stood in al-Ta’if, and was more recent than Manah. She was a cubic rock beside which a certain Jew used to prepare his barley porridge (sawiq). Her custody was in the hands of the banu-‘Attab ibn-Malik of the Thayif, who had built an edifice over her. […]She is the idol which God mentioned when He said, “Have you seen Al-lat and al-‘Uzza (Surah 53:19)?
Kitab Al-Asnam (The Book of Idols), p 14

“A principal sacred object in Arabian religion was the stone, either a rock outcropping or a large boulder, often a rectangular or irregular black basaltic stone… of numerous baetyls, the best known is the Black-stone of the Ka’aba at Mecca which became the central shrine object in Islam”.-Encyclopedia Britannica

There is no denying that the Black Stone was one among many stones and idols venerated at the Ka’aba by the pre-Islamic pagans. The Black Stone was kissed during pre-Islamic pagan worship. Though Muhammad threw out 360 other objects at the Ka’aba, he retained this Black Stone and continued the practice of kissing it. It is this same stone that the pre-Islamic pagans once kissed, that Muslims kiss today when visiting Mecca.

      Praying 5 Times Towards Mecca

Pagans prior to Islam would pray five times per day towards Mecca. Muhammad retained for Islam, this pre-Islamic practice, sanctioning it with a story of a night trip to heaven on a mythical beast called al-Buraq. In heaven, the Hadith tells us that Allah demanded 50 prayers per day per Muslim. Upon advice from Moses, Muhammed bargains with Allah and successfully reduces it to five prayers per day.

Zoroastrians are also expected to recite their (kusti) prayers at least five times a day having first cleansed themselves by washing (ablution). So even today, this is not a practice unique to Islam. But, contrary to the Muslims, they pray in the direction of the Sun (at each time of the day) and/or of the Holy Fire (if they are in a Fire Temple).

Fasting on the 10th of Muharram[edit]
Muhammad’s pagan tribe, the Quraish, fasted on the 10th of Muharram. Though optional, Muhammad retained this pagan practice too.

Narrated ‘Aisha: ‘Ashura’ (i.e. the tenth of Muharram) was a day on which the tribe of Quraish used to fast in the pre-lslamic period of ignorance. The Prophet also used to fast on this day. So when he migrated to Medina, he fasted on it and ordered (the Muslims) to fast on it. When the fasting of Ramadan was enjoined, it became optional for the people to fast or not to fast on the day of Ashura. Sahih Bukhari 5:58:172

      Tawaf between Safa and Marwa

Doing Tawaf between Safa and Marwa is an Islamic ritual associated with the pilgrimage to Mecca. Safa and Marwa are two mounts, located at Mecca. This ritual entails Muslims walking frantically between the two mounts, seven times. This was originally a pagan pre-Islamic practice. Muhammad retained it for Islam, sanctioning it with yet another Qur’anic revelation.

Narrated ‘Asim: I asked Anas bin Malik: “Did you use to dislike to perform Tawaf between Safa and Marwa?” He said, “Yes, as it was of the ceremonies of the days of the Pre-lslamic period of ignorance, till Allah revealed: ‘Verily! (The two mountains) As-Safa and Al-Marwa are among the symbols of Allah. It is therefore no sin for him who performs the pilgrimage to the Ka’ba, or performs ‘Umra, to perform Tawaf between them.’ ” (2.158) Sahih Bukhari 2:26:710

Clearly, the Hadith testifies that Muhammad merely adopted this pagan ceremony from the pre-Islamic “period of ignorance” and justified it with yet another convenient Qur’anic revelation.

A myth was also created about Hagar running between these two mounts in search of water until she found the Zamzam Well. Even if this story were true, why is this reason for people to run up and down between two mounts to please a god? This myth was not created to further justify the ritual, but for another reason; Muhammad was trying to market Zamzam, owned by his family, as a money-making venture.

Reason Vs. Revelation Debate. The Problem is Fundamentalism.

Sam Harris: Islam Is Not a Religion of Peace?

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfKLV6rmLxE

Author Sam Harris argues that Islam — like most religions — is not simply a peaceful faith misrepresented by extremists. “The only problem with Islamic fundamentalism are the fundamentals of Islam,” says Harris. “To call Islam a religion of peace … is completely delusional.”

      —–

In this highly anticipated, explosive new book, the author of The End of Faith and Letter to a Christian Nation calls for an end to religion’s monopoly on morality and human values. In The Moral Landscape: How Science Can Determine Human Values, Sam Harris tears down the wall between scientific facts and human values to dismantle the most common justification for religious faith — that a moral system cannot be based on science.

The End of Faith ignited a worldwide debate about the validity of religion. In its aftermath, Harris discovered that most people, from secular scientists to religious fundamentalists, agree on one point: Science has nothing to say on the subject of human values. Even among religious fundamentalists, the defense one most often hears for belief in God is not that there is compelling evidence that God exists, but that faith in Him provides the only guidance for living a good life. Controversies about human values are controversies about which science has officially had no opinion. Until now.

Morality, Harris argues, is actually an undeveloped branch of neuroscience, and answers to questions of human value can be visualized on a “moral landscape” — a space of real and potential outcomes whose peaks and valleys correspond to human states of greater or lesser wellbeing. Different ways of thinking and behaving — different cultural practices, ethical codes, modes of government, etc. — translate into movements across this landscape. Such changes can be analyzed objectively on many levels, ranging from biochemistry to economics, but they have their crucial realization as experiences in the human brain.

Bringing a fresh, secular perspective to age-old questions of right and wrong, and good and evil, Harris shows that we know enough about the human brain and its relationship to events in the world to say that there are right and wrong answers to the most pressing questions of human life. Because such answers exist, cultural relativism is simply false — and comes at increasing cost to humanity. And just as there is no such thing as Christian physics or Muslim algebra, there can be no Christian or Muslim morality. Using his expertise in philosophy and neuroscience, along with his experience on the front lines of our “culture wars,” Sam Harris delivers a game-changing argument about the future of science and about the real basis of human cooperation. – Berkeley Arts and Letters

Sam Harris is an American non-fiction author, and CEO of Project Reason. He received a Ph.D. in neuroscience from UCLA, and is a graduate in philosophy from Stanford University. He has studied both Eastern and Western religious traditions, along with a variety of contemplative disciplines, for twenty years. He is a proponent of scientific skepticism and is the author of The End of Faith (2004), which won the 2005 PEN/Martha Albrand Award, Letter to a Christian Nation (2006), a rejoinder to criticism of his first book, and The Moral Landscape (2010).

With due respect to your intelligence, I wish to state that when the Doctor says Eating Apples after a meal is good for your health, it doesn’t mean that eating oranges is bad for your health.
      Likewise when Holy Prophet (sal) said “Do not prepare yourself for a journey except to three mosques i.e Al-Masjid -Al-Haram, the Mosque of Aqsa (Jerusalem) and my Mosque.” (Sahih Bukhari), he didn’t say that visiting cemeteries’/Burial ground is bad. Because the holy Prophet (sal) also instructed as follows;
Dawud, Sunan of Nasa’i and Musnad of Imam Ahmad (Book of Funerals) that Rasul-Ullah, sall- Allahu `alayhi wa sallam, said in translation means: “I had previously forbidden you to visit graves, but I now permit you to visit them, for it will remind you of the Hereafter.”

      Also see:
The Prophet Muhammad (SAL), himself,, used to visit the graves of his companions who had passed away at that time. It is narrated in Sahih Muslim and Sunan of at-Tirmidhi that the Rasul-Ullah, (SAL),, used to regularly visit the graveyard of Medina, Jannat al-Baqi’, and make supplications there.

The practice of annual commemoration for visiting certain graves, as is the custom of many Muslims all over the world today, is actually derived from the Sunnah. Al-Bazzar narrates that the Prophet Muhammad, sall-Allahu `alayhi wa sallam, visited the Jannat al-Ma’la graveyard in Mecca, where his dear wife, our Sayyidah Khadija (RA), is buried and called it as: “This is a blessed graveyard” (ask the Wahabis why the grave yard is blessed??) (Ni’mah al-maqbarah hadhih). Imam Muslim narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (SAL), also visited his honourable mother’s grave, which is in a place between Mecca and Medina. He wept there and those who were present also wept.

One should also wonder – according to different ahadith – Jannat al-Baqi’ in Medina is regarded as the holiest graveyard on earth. This precisely happens because of the holy people who are buried there. This clearly shows that not all graves and graveyards are the same in status according to the Shari’ah. Those graveyards in which holy people are buried are definitely higher in status and barakah, and that is also the reason why the Muslims visit Jannat ul-Baqi’ in Medina and Jannat ul-M’ala in Mecca more than other graveyards.

Al-Bayhaqi narrates in Shu’ab al-Iman that Rasul-Ullah, sall-Allahu `alayhi wa sallam, said what means: “Whoever visits the grave of his parents or the grave of one of them every Friday, he will be forgiven and his name will be written among the pious ones” (Man zara Qabra abawayhi aw ahadihima fi kulli Jumu’ah, ghufira lahu wa kutiba barran). (If you live in Canada or USA you will have to travel for couple of hours).

If visiting the graves of one’s parents cause such a blessing, what about visiting the graves of the Prophets or of the intimate Saints of Allah? Rasul-Ullah, sall-Allahu `alayhi wa sallam, encouraged the Muslims to visit graves regularly and considered a cause for forgiveness, although the ignoramuses dislike it. The above mentioned hadith also proves the validity and desirability of visiting graves on a regular basis, which is the common practice of the Muslims..

It is narrated in Sharh as-Sudur by Imam al-Suyuti that the Prophet Muhammad, sall-Allahu `alayhi wa sallam, said what means that when one visits the graveyard, he should read Surat al-Ikhlas, Surat at-Takathur and Surat al-Fatiha, and present the reward of the recitations as a gift to the inhabitants of the graves. He, sall-Allahu `alayhi wa sallam, aslo explained that these souls will then ask forgiveness make for him, asking Allah Ta’ala to forgive and bless him. So this then is a command of the Nabi Muhammad (sal).

We learn from this Hadith that the souls of the departed have the ability to make Du’a for the living, asking Allah (SWT), to help the living who are visiting them. In another Hadith found in the Kanzul Ummal by al-Imam al-Muttaqi, it is narrated by Sayyidina ‘Ali, radi Allahu `anh, that the Nabi Muhamma (sal), said: “Whoever goes to a graveyard or passes by a graveyard and recites Surah Ikhlas eleven times and gives the Sawab of the recital to the dead buried there, will receive the same Sawab for it as the dead people”. In fact the Nabi Muhammad (sal) is encouraging us to recite Surah Ikhlas and present the Sawab of it as a gift to the dead when we visit them. Today, some Wahabi Salafi/Tawheed people are saying that making Dhikr at the graves is Bid’ah!!!!! They must go and study Hadith.

Awareness of the dead and their spiritual life in the graves:

Wahabis’ Holy of Holy Sheikh of all; Even Ibn Taymiyyah, who is called “Shaykhu-l-Islam” by his Wahhabi Salafee/Tawheed followers, narrates another hadith sahih regarding this. We note that most of his followers today claim that the dead have no perception or power after their demise, i.e. abide by an atheistic and materialistic view of death.

However, to refute them is enough to say their their beloved shaykh, Ibn Taymiyah narrates in his Fatawa (vol.24 p.331) that Rasul-Ullah, sall-Allahu `alayhi wa sallam, said what means, “When one passes by the grave of his believing brother who he had known in this world, then stands by his grave and says, ‘Assalamu ‘alaykum’, the person in the grave will know him and also return his greeting” (ya’rifuhu wa yarudda ‘alayihi-ssalam)”.

This shows that the dead have awareness and are able to make du’ah for the living, since saying “as-salamu ‘alaykum” is a supplication in favor of the person one greets.

Furthermore, against what his Wahhabi followers claim today, Ibn Taymiyah was asked in his Majmu’at al-Fatawa (vol.24 p.362) “Whether the dead could perceive the living acquaintances that visit them.” He replied: “There is no doubt that they can.” And he stated that evidence to this effect comes from the two Sahih books of Bukhari and Muslim (Kitab al-Jana’iz) where Nabi Muhammad (Sal), said that when the people have buried a dead person and leave for home, the dead person can hear the steps of those who leave (yasma’u qar’a ni’alihim). (This even refers to the kuffar.

What makes Wahabis who have studied Hadith claim that Prophets, Awliya and ordinary dead have no awareness after their demise? Maybe they have not studied properly.

The Great Hadith and Tafsir scholar al-Suyuti was asked the following questions:

Do the dead recognize their visitors and know their states in life?

Do the dead hear what the living say?

Do the souls of the dead meet and see each other?

He replied to all questions: “Yes”, and produced a lot of ahadith in support.

Firstly, the Qubur of the Prophets (Sal). A Sahih Hadith narrated by Imam Muslim (vol.2 p.268) states that the Nabi Muhammad (sal), said “He, Prophet (Sal), passed by the grave of Sayyidina Musa and saw him praying in his grave (iza bi Musa yusalli fi Qabrihi)”.

This is evidence from the Sunnah of the Nabi Muhammad (SAL), that there are certain holy people of Allah (SWT), who can even pray in the Qabr. The Ulama say that they are not praying because it is fard upon them (since they have already passed away) but that they are praying for the sake of the love of Allah SWT, and because they enjoy praying and thus talking to Allah, SWT. This is why they pray in their graves.

About the Ambiya Allah (Prophets), there are no doubts since Abu Ya’la and al-Bazzar (in their Musnads) narrate a Sahih Hadith that the Prophet(sal), said that: ” All of the Ambiyaa are Alive and Praying in their graves. (al-Anbiya Ahyaa’un fi Quburihim yusalloon). The Arabic word for prayer used in this Hadith is (Salah), which may also mean Du’a, besides the ritual Salah we know.

Concerning the Qubur of ordinary Muslims:

Our incapability of perceiving their life, in the physical sense, does not in any way negate the fact that they are alive in the Spiritual World. The Quran (2:154) is clear that: “And say not of those Who are slain in the Way of Allah: ‘They are Dead’. Nay, They are Living, though you do not perceive it”.

Firstly, the Holy Quran (3:169-170) is clear that those who die in the Way of Allah(SWT), are Alive. Allah (SWT), says: “Think not of those who are slain in Allah’s Way As dead. Nay, they are Alive! Finding sustenance from their Lord—They rejoice in the Bounty Provided by Allah, (SWT),,”. We do not think that there is any Ayah in the Quran which destroys the atheistic concept of Death as the end of all Awareness, as this Ayah.

The Verse is clear that the Shahid’s, who, by the way, are lesser in status than the Prophets (Nabiy’yeen) and the Saints (Siddiqeen), are fully Alive in their graves and are even getting sustenance and even rejoicing.

It is narrated by Abu Nuaym and Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal that the great Tabi’i (a person who met the Sahabah) Thabit al-Bannani, used to say “O Allah! If you would give anyone the honour of making Salah in the Qabr (grave), give me that honour”. Abu Nuaym narrates that on the day of Thabit’s death, Jubair, radi Allahu `anh, one of the great Tabi’in also, said: “I swear by Allah who created me, other than whom there is no Lord, I put Thabit al-Bannani in his his Qabr that day when we buried him and with me was a person named Humaid at-Taweel and when we had finished putting the stones on the Qabr one of the bricks fell down and I saw Thabit al-Bannani making Salah in his Qabr.” In other words, Allah(SWT), accepted the Du’a of this great Wali to make Salah in his grave. This is a Sahih Hadith narrated by Ahmad ibn Hanbal and Abu Nuaym.

In another Sahih narration by Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah, the Nabi Muhammad, sall-Allahu `alayhi wa sallam, said that if anyone buries his brother, that he must put on a beautiful kafan for the dead person because they visit one another in the grave (innahum yatazaawarun).

This is only speaking about ordinary Muslims and not Awliya Allah. If ordinary Muslim dead can visit one another in their Qubur, then how much greater is not the status and ability of the Awliya Allah in their Qubur? What awareness do not these friends of Allah(SWT),, have in their Qubur?

It is narrated by Tirmidhi and an-Nasa’i as well as al-Hakim that one of the Sahabah put his tent over a Qabr without knowing it and when he was inside the tent, he heard someone reciting Surah al-Mulk. He went to Nabi Muhammad (sal), and told him what he heard. Nabi Muhammad, sall-Allahu `alayhi wa sallam, informed him that Surah al-Mulk is a protection against punishment in the Qabr, and is protecting the man buried there. The ‘Ulama of Hadith explain that that man loved reciting Surah al-Mulk when he was alive and thus Allah (SWT),, granted him that he could recite it in his Qabr as well.

This proves that an ordinary man is able to recite Qur’an in his Qabr and a normal living man is able to hear him. Thus if a truthful person claims that he has been spoken to by a Wali, at the Wali’s Qabr, it is most likely true, and most importantly, possible. This fact is grounded in the abovementioned Hadith.

AWLIYA OF ALLAH; The Holy Quran names this as a test of true Eemaan (faith).

The Jews had claimed they are the beloved “Awliya” of Allah. They were told:

“If you claim that you (alone) are the Awliya-Allah to the exclusion of all other people, then you should be longing for death – if what you say is true.” (62/6)

AWLIYA: SOME EXPAMPLE’s OF SALFUS SALIH (Not Salafi Wahabi Jamath)

Imam ‘Ali (A.S.) said, “We are the means of connection between the people and Allah.” (Al-Mizan, Vol. 5, 362)

Hadrat Zahra (A.S.) also said, “We are the channel of connection between creatures and the Creator.”(Sharh Ibn Abi al-Hadid, Vol. 16, 211).

During his illness, Imam Hadi (A.S.) sent someone to Karbala to pray for him by the pure grave of Imam Husayn (A.S.). Being himself an Imam, Imam Hadi’s request shows that Imam Husayn (A.S.) had a higher station and that his pure shrine is a place for the granting of needs.

During the time of Khalifa ‘Umar ibn Khattab, when the Muslims were afflicted with famine, he went to ‘Abbas, the Prophet’s Uncle, and swore to Allah by the station of ‘Abbas ibn ‘Abd al-Muttalib.(Tarikh al-Khulafa’, Suyuti, 147).

In Sahih Muslim (Kitab al-Libas vol.3 p.140), it is narrated that Asma’, the daughter of Sayyidina Abu Bakr had the garment of Nabi Muhammad, sall-Allahu `alayhi wa sallam, which she had received from Sayyidah Aishah (r.a). She would take the water with which she washed the holy Garment and give it to the sick. They would drink it and be cured.

The Sahabah had accepted the fact that water from the blessed clothes of the Prophet (sal) had Barakah and could cure. Were these Sahabah Mushriks as per Salafi Wahabism?

It is narrated in Al-Shifa of al-Qadi Iyad that Sayyidina Ibn Umar, radi Allahu `anh, would put his hands on Nabi Muhammad’s, sall-Allahu `alayhi wa sallam, Mimbar (pulpit) and would wipe it over his face. He was clearly looking for Tabarruk. If the Sahabah were clearly in need of Barakah, aren’t we?

In another Sahih Hadith narrated by Tabarani and Abu Yala: In a battle between the Muslims and the Byzantine Romans, the Commander, Sayyiduna Khalid bin al-Walid (who had the title of the “Unleashed Sword of Allah”) was looking for a fez. When it was found, they saw that it was a very old and tattered. So the Sahabah inquired why he was looking for such a fez in the middle of a battle. He replied that he had stuck some hair of Nabi Muhammad, sall-Allahu `alayhi wa sallam, in it and whenever he would have it in battle, he would be victorious. He had lost it and was worried that the disbelievers would find it and win the battle.

In Sahih Muslim (Kitab al-Hajj) it is narrated that Nabi Muhammad, sall-Allahu `alayhi wa sallam, distributed his hair amongst the Sahabah on cutting it on Mina. Can any Wahabi Tell me Why he did this?

Each Sahabah would take a bunch for Barakah. It is narrated in Sahih al-Bukhari (Kitab al-Libas) that Sayyidah Umm Salmah would keep the hair of her husband, Nabi Muhammad, sall-Allahu `alayhi wa sallam, in a red glass. Whenever someone was ill she would stroke the blessed Hair in water and give the water to that person to drink, and he would then immediately be cured. If a hair has this power & blessing what about the Zeyarath of Hly Prophet (sal)? O’ Wahabi Salafees You have been truly misled by Shaithan Sheikh Al-Wahhab Al-Najdi!

“Imam Reza(A.S.) sent me a package as a gift. When I opened it, there was some earth in it. I asked the man who had brought the package, “What is this earth?” He replied, “This earth was taken from the grave of Imam Husayn (A.S.). Imam never sends anything, whether clothes or anything else, to anyone unless he puts some of this earth inside it and says, ‘By Allah’s will and permission, this earth will give protection against calamities.”(Mafatih al-Jinan, 471)

It is narrated that ‘Abd Allah ibn Abi Ya’fur Jafar arrived in the presence of Imam Sadiq (A.S.) and said, “Someone takes some earth from the grave of Imam Husayn (A.S.) and it becomes helpful for him; while someone else takes some of it but it does not yield the same result. Imam Sadiq (A.S.) replied, “No, by Allah! Whoever takes it and believes that it will be helpful, surely it will be helpful for him by Allah’s leave.”(Mafatih al-Jinan, 471).

      Miracles of Awliya:
Allah (SWT) says in the Holy Quran, “Sulaiman said, O chiefs,; which one of you can bring her “Balqis” throne to me before they come to me submitting? One big evil jinni said, ‘I will bring you that throne before you rise from your sitting and undoubtedly, I am powerful & trustworthy.

One AWLIYA in the audience who had knowledge of the Book said,’ I shall bring it to you before twinkling of the eye. ‘Then when Sulaiman saw the throne set before him said, ‘this is by the grace of my lord that he may try me whether I am grateful or un-grateful’ And whosoever is grateful for his own good. And whosoever is ungrateful, then my Lord is self sufficient All Virtuous”.(Sura An-Namal, Verse 38 to 40).

In the above verse Allah Almighty has mentioned the karaamat (Mirracle) of the companion of Hazrat sulaiman (AS). His name was Asif bin Barkhia (RA). According to the commentators this throne was very huge and it was at the distance of 1500 miles away but the friend of Allah “Awliya” brought it before the twinkling of the eye.

In a Sahih Hadith regarding the Battle of Badr, it is narrated that the Muslims threw Abu Jahl and other kuffar who were slain into a well. Nabi Muhammad (sal) went to their Qubur and asked them whether they had found the promise of Allah(Swt), to be true; that the kuffar would be punished.

Then, Sayyiduna Umar (Ral) inquired of Nabi Muhammad (sal), whether the dead could hear Him. Nabi Muhammad (sal), explained that he (Umar) could not hear any better than them, but they did not have the ability to respond (Bukhari-Kitab al-Maghazi). This is the life of the kuffar dead. Today, some ignorant Wahabi Salafees & Tawheeds say that even the Prophet and the Awliya cannot hear us. We can only PITY them at their level of Imaan & Islamic knowledge. Abu Dawud (Kitab al-Jana’iz) narrates that Aishah (RA), said that when al- Najashi (the pious King of Abyssinia) had passed away, the Sahabah reported that there was LIGHT shining from his grave (yura ala Qabrihi Nur). He was not even a Sahabi but it was believed that he was a Wali. Thus, if the Sahabah believed that the Awliya can have Nur (light) and blessings at their Qubur, it does not matter what any 21st century ignorant Wahabi Salafi ‘scholar’ says.

In another Sahih Hadith narrated by Ibn Hanbal, Hakim and Tabarani, Nabi Muhammad (sal) saw a person sitting on a Qabr and told him: “Do not harm the person in the Qabr and he will not harm you.”(la tu’zi sahib al-Qabri wala yu’zeek).

The ‘Ulama of Hadith explained that this shows that the dead are affected by what people do at their Qubur. This Hadith also shows that the dead feel what happens on the top of their graves. Otherwise, why not sit on a Qabr, if the dead does not feel anything?

Therefore one should not harm or destroy Qubur ( Wahabi past-time is breaking & destroying of Zeyaraths – An Anti-Islamic act of Shirk). On the other hand showing respect at a Qabr and conveying your love to the inhabitant will also be felt by him and result in like action being returned to you That is why Muslims show outward respect to the Graves of those who they are ordered by Allah (SWT)to love, i.e. the Prophets and the Saliheen (Saints of Allah).

The second part of the Hadith proves that the dead have the power to harm as well as to benefit you, each in their own way and according to their status with Allah(SWT), of course. Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal narrates that before Sayyidina Umar (RA) was buried in her room,

Sayyidah Aishah would go there without Hijab (head Covering), as the Prophet (Sal) and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (Ra), who were buried there were her Husband and Father. However, when Sayyiduna Umar (Ra) got buried there, she would only go in the room with Hijab. (check Mishkat al-Masabih: Bab Ziyarat al-Qubur).

This action clearly shows that according to Sayyidah Aishah, the dead can feel and see their visitors and are aware of those who come to them and how they come to them. It is narrated in a Sahih Hadith that Nabi Muhammad(sal), said that every person’s grave would be either a garden from the gardens of Paradise or a hole from the holes of hell (Rawda mim Riyad al-Jannah aw Hufrah min Hufar an Naar)

If the Qabr of a normal mu’min is a garden of paradise, what about the Qubur of the Awliya of Allah(Swt). Are they not from the Jannah? If yes, then only a fool can claim that there is no Barakah there!

The people of Sri Lanka are mostly Shafi’i. We say that when Imam al-Shafi’i was in Baghdad, whenever he would have a problem, he would visit the TOMB of Imam Abu Hanifah, pray two Rak’ahs there and ask Allah (swt), through the Barakah of Imam Abu Hanifah, and his problem would be immediately be solved. He would also make those two Rak’ahs according to the Hanafi Madhab. When asked why, he replied:

“In respect of the person in the Tomb (i.e. Abu Hanifah)” (Ta’adduban ma’a Sahib al- Qabr).

This Authentic story is narrated by the Great Shafi’i scholar Imam Ibn Hajar al-Makki in in his Book called “al-Khairat al-Hisan fi Manaqib al-Imam al-A’zam Abu Hanifah al- Nu’man”. The great Hanafi scholar Ibn Aabidin al-Shami also narrates it in the introduction of his massive work called “Radd al-Muhtar”.

Tabarani narrates that Abu Ayyub al-Ansari(RA), the Great Sahabi, once put his head on the honourable Qabr of Nabi Muhammad(sal), and kissed it. The Umayyad ruler, Marwan bin al-Hakam, a notorious man, asked Abu Ayyub(RA) why he was worshipping the stone. Abu Ayyub(RA) replied that he was visiting Nabi Muhammad(Sal), and not a stone. Someone then intervened and warned Marwan not to interfere with Abu Ayyub(Ra), as he was one of the Companions of Nabi Muhammad(sal), and Marwan let him be.

There are many Hadith which show that the Sahabah used to kiss the grave of Nabi Muhammad, (sal): Ibn Asakir in Tarikh Dimashq, al-Samhudi in Wafa al-Wafa and al-Imam al-Mujtahid al- Subki in Shifa as-Siqam bi-ziyarat Khayr al-Anaam, narrate that when Sayyidina Bilal(RA), came back to Madinah after many years, he went straight to the Honourable Qabr of Nabi Muhammad(sal) and fell down and put his forehead on the Qabr, and kissed it, saying, “Oh my beloved, Rasulullah (sal)
This was an expression of his love for Nabi Muhammad(sal). No doubt, some of todays Wahabi Salafee/Tawheed “shaykhs” would label Sayyidina Bilal a “Mushrik”, claiming that he was worshipping the Prophet (sal)! Astaghfirullah.

Imam al-Dhahabi narrates in Majmu’ Shuyukh al-Dhahabi (vol.1 p.72-74) that the son of Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal said to his father that people touch and kiss the Qabr of Nabi Muhammad, sall-Allahu `alayhi wa sallam, to get the Barakah. Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal replied that there was no problem with that (la ba’sa bihi).

Imam al-Dhahabi went on to explain that: “Only some of the Sahabah did this, as the Sahabah had (obviously) seen Nabi Muhammad, sall-Allahu `alayhi wa sallam, when he was alive, had close interaction with him, kissed his hand, fought over his Wudu water, distributed his Hair for Barakah, and even took his spit and rubbing it over their faces (as in Bukhari in clear words). But those who had not met Nabi Muhammad, sall-Allahu `alayhi wa sallam, express their love by going to his Qabr, and kissing and touching it”.

Imam al-Ghazali says in his famous work Minhaj al-‘Abideen (p.347) that the Wali of Allah reaches such a state that: “Allah gives Barakah in his Breath, Speech, Clothes, Company, places where he sat and even the Sand he walked on”.

We ask these Wahabi Salafees & Tawheeds, was Imam Shafi’i making Shirk, and are these great Ulama who narrated this incident also encouraging Shirk? Na’uzu billah min dhalik. It is now quite apparent that Wahabism and it’s off-shoots Salafism & Tawheedsm are innovatiuons in Islam as such they’re Shirk Jamaths!

      Summary:
It is Sunnah to visit Qubur, even on a certain fixed day, annually. The people in the Qubur have awareness about what is happening outside. Some dead are actually praying or making Du’a in their Qubur. It is Sunnah to recite Qur’an at the Qubur. There is Barakah at the Qubur of the Awliya. Graveyards become more blessed and significant when pious people are buried there.

It is Sunnah to ask the pious to make Du’a for you. It is absurd to say that one may ask the living pious for Du’a but once they have passed away it is Shirk to ask Du’a, as they are still alive in their Qubur. Or, do they say that Shirk is allowed with a living person and not allowed with a dead person?

Not everything which the Prophet or his Companions did not do would ultimately make things “Haraam”. Since the Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) himself said: “He who introduces a new good Sunnah in Islam will be rewarded for it …”

Imam Shafi’i (RA) said: “Anything which enjoys the backing of Shari’ah cannot be an innovation even if the Companions did not practice it, because their abstention from doing something may have been due to a particular reason which was there at that time, or they have left it to something which happens to be better, or perhaps news about a particular them did not reach them all”.

Therefore, whosoever alleges that this thing is Haraam on the basis that the Noble Prophet (SAL) did not practice it, then surely he has alleged something which has no foundation or backing in Shari’ah and thus his allegation is refuted and rejected.

The Noble Prophet (SAL) foretold about the coming of such people (i.e Wahabi Salafees/Tawheed) in the Hadith narrated by “Abu-Yaa’li” on the authority of “Huzaifah” who said:

The Noble Prophet (SAL) said: “What I fear most for you, is a man who reads the Qur’an until such time when the blessing of Qur’an is reflected on him and he takes Islam as his Cloak … he then turns around and strips himself off from Islam and then tosses it away behind his back, then he heads quickly towards his neighbour with his sword unsheathed and he calls him a ‘Mushrik'” I said: “O, Prophet of Allah! Who is more worthy of being called a Mushrik the one being attacked or the attacker”. He replied, “It is indeed the attacker.”

      Kind regards

I think Moslems in UK are doing something quite fantastic. Their Mosques have open days so that the “heretics” can come and see.

    http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-35514840

This is similar to the Buddhist “Ahi Passkio” (come and see) doctrine. If anyone do not like it – that is quite OK too.

Although the experience takes away the mystery and the suspicion. The one of the “other” no longer there in others minds. Instead, Moslems become just another part of the community.

The problem we have is the political arm of various Abrahamic faiths having to spread their word using the traditional methods. These methods are no longer tolerated.

I think all religions should open their doors for anyone to come and see. The churches, mosques, buddhist temples all should have open days. The non-believer can simply walk off the street and adopt a faith.

That will make the likes of Gnanasara work harder for the free meal too. They will have to deal with issues purely on basis of logic and reason which the Dhamma has oodles of.

Yes. The Age of Reason and Enlightenment is beginning to Dawn on Them.

Muslims, lost it 1,000 years ago, due to the hegemony of the Ulama.

      Revelation Vs. Reason and Observations.

History Of Islamic Philosophical Thought. Philosophy = Love of Wisdom.

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7m0Jj557ko

Islamic philosophy or Arabic philosophy is the systematic investigation of problems connected with life, the universe, ethics, society, and so on as conducted in the Muslim world. Not all Islamic philosophers have been Muslims. Christians such as Yahya ibn Adi and Jews such as Maimonides have made important contributions to the Islamic philosophical tradition, and others, such as Ibn al-Rawandi and Muhammad ibn Zakariya al-Razi, used philosophy to attack Islam.

Early Islamic philosophy began in the 2nd century AH of the Islamic calendar (early 9th century CE) and lasted until the 6th century AH (late 12th century CE). The period is known as the Islamic Golden Age, and the achievements of this period had a crucial influence on the development of modern philosophy and science; for Renaissance Europe, the influence represented “one of the largest technology transfers in world history.”. This period began with al-Kindi in the 9th century and ended with Averroes (Ibn Rushd) at the end of 12th century. The death of Averroes effectively marked the end of a particular discipline of Islamic philosophy usually called the Peripatetic Arabic School, and philosophical activity declined significantly in Western Islamic countries such as Islamic Spain and North Africa.

Philosophy persisted for much longer in the Eastern countries, in particular Persia and India where several schools of philosophy continued to flourish: Avicennism, Illuminationist philosophy, Mystical philosophy, and Transcendent theosophy. Ibn Khaldun, in his Muqaddimah, founded the disciplines of historiography and sociology and made important contributions to the philosophy of history. Interest in Islamic philosophy revived during the Nahda (awakening) movement in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and continues to the present day. Prominent representatives of contemporary Islamic philosophy include Mohammad Baqir al-Sadr and Hossein Nasr.

Islamic philosophy refers to philosophy produced in an Islamic society. It is not necessarily concerned with religious issues, nor exclusively produced by Muslims. Nor do all schools of thought within Islam admit the usefulness or legitimacy of philosophical inquiry. Some argue that there is no indication that the limited knowledge and experience of humans can lead to truth. It is also important to observe that, while “reason” (‘aql) is sometimes recognised as a source of Islamic law, this may have a totally different meaning from “reason” in philosophy.

Islamic philosophy is a generic term that can be defined and used in different ways. In its broadest sense it means the world view of Islam, as derived from the Islamic texts concerning the creation of the universe and the will of the Creator. In another sense it refers to any of the schools of thought that flourished under the Islamic empire or in the shadow of the Arab-Islamic culture and Islamic civilization. In its narrowest sense it is a translation of Falsafa, meaning those particular schools of thought that most reflect the influence of Greek systems of philosophy such as Neoplatonism and Aristotelianism.

The historiography of Islamic philosophy is marked by disputes as to how the subject should be properly interpreted. Some of the key issues involve the comparative importance of eastern intellectuals such as Ibn Sina (Avicenna) and of western thinkers such as Ibn Rushd, and also whether Islamic philosophy can be read at face value or should be interpreted in an esoteric fashion. Supporters of the latter thesis, like Leo Strauss, maintain that Islamic philosophers wrote so as to conceal their true meaning in order to avoid religious persecution, but scholars such as Oliver Leaman disagree.
      Formative influences

Islamic philosophy as the name implies refers to philosophical activity within the Islamic milieu. The main sources of classical or early Islamic philosophy are the religion of Islam itself (especially ideas derived and interpreted from the Quran) and Greek philosophy which the early Muslims inherited as a result of conquests, along with pre-Islamic Indian philosophy and Persian philosophy. Many of the early philosophical debates centered around reconciling religion and reason, the latter exemplified by Greek philosophy.

The obfuscations in the Article need clarification. I am doing what I can.

Prophet Mohammed unambiguously reprimanded every time anyone who showed signs of venerating him. “I am just a man like you”.

Isn’t this enough proof that falling down on the tomb (to ask favours of course – calling it showing respect is bull) is associating Partners with Allah?

When I or my siblings were sick, when we were children, my grandmother (may Allah be merciful to her) went to the grave side of a dead “saint”, put some money into the till conveniently placed there by the Owners of the grave, and beseeched the dead man to cure our ailment.

Hussain’s jab at his “antagonist” is most likely prompted by envy. Politicians visit graves with a coterie of supporters. No doubt the politician referred to prostrated himself in front of the dead man in order to impress his idiotic supporters; just like in that picture following the elections, Sirisena holding the oil lamp and asking favours from the Bo Tree. Nothing more.

Wahab or no wahab, Islam absolutely does not permit worship of anyone or any thing other than Allah. There is a very thin line between veneration and worship. When you fall at the grave side you are worshipping a corpse specifically to ask favours. This is crystal clear. But touching the feet as a sign of respect of living parents for example, is veneration; similarly visiting a grave, standing there in silence as a mark of respect, re-living the memories one has of the deceased. It is the intention that matters.

Re: Stoning to death for adultery: It is not permitted by Islam: Surah Al Noor 24:2 prescribes punishment as follows: “The woman and the man guilty of adultery or fornication,- flog each of them with a hundred stripes: Let not compassion move you in their case, in a matter prescribed by Allah, if ye believe in Allah and the Last Day: and let a party of the Believers witness their punishment.” No amount of interpretation can change the punishment to “stoning to death”. The Saudi’s can go to hell.

Stoning to death is a Judeo-Christian practice which is not approved by Islam. Its prevalence in Saudi Arabia does not make it Islamic.

For a summary of how a Muslim should live his life, read the last Sermon of the beloved Prohet just before his death. Here is the link:

      Ahmed Reza

“Isn’t this enough proof that falling down on the tomb (to ask favours of course – calling it showing respect is bull) is associating Partners with Allah?”

      1. Showing respect does not mean associating partners with Allah or anybody else. Showing respect for elders does not mea that yiu are associating partners with Allah or anybody else.

      2. “When I or my siblings were sick, when we were children, my grandmother (may Allah be merciful to her) went to the grave side of a dead “saint”, put some money into the till conveniently placed there by the Owners of the grave, and beseeched the dead man to cure our ailment.”

The Pre-Islamic Arabs did that. They went to the Kabba and did that. Then only one stone was left, and the stone was called, Allah’s representation. The Arab Tribe Quershi did a brisk trade from the “Pilgrims”, initially from “Pagan” Pilgrims, and then from “Muslim” Pilgrims. The Muslims prayed and asked favors from One God, Allah, swt, La-Illaha Illah, There is no God but God, sight unseen, based o Prophet Mohammed, PBUH, message.

Was there any controlled study that showed the results to be valid for your Grandmother or anybody else who went to Mecca? This is all business and brainwashing, based on Faith and belief.

      3. “Stoning to death is a Judeo-Christian practice which is not approved by Islam. Its prevalence in Saudi Arabia does not make it Islamic.”

Yes. Wahhabies and their clones do, claiming it is Islam. There are other examples of Killing Muslims. Therefore, the Wahhabies and their Clones ate not Islam. They are Iblis Followers, Iblisis. They do not what Islam is.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Islam and it is expanding exponentially with world’s population with a healthy growth rate, since it has all the solutions to the problems of the modern world.

Just as the main denominations of Hinduism are Vaishnavism, Shaivism, Shaktism, and Smartism. Although these four denominations share rituals, beliefs, and traditions, but each denomination has a different philosophy on how to achieve life’s ultimate goal, Atma Jnana. The same with Chritians and Buddhists. So why should it be any different with Muslims. They all believe in the concept of ‘there is only one God, which is Allah, and further accept Prophet Muhammed as their final Messenger’. It is true they have split themselves into groups having various interpretations of the Glorious Quran and Hadith from Prophet’s life. Ultimately to Allah Almighty fill be our final return and He will be the Judge. So why does this many factions in Islam concern you so much? Are you also wanting to convert and find it difficult to decide, join the largest and most prominent in that case.

What Muslim girls in Malaysia and Maldives do is not what Islam as a religion is all about. If they do wrong, they are only acting as individuals and not in the name of Islam. You are so dumb, you couldn’t figure that one out. It happens amongst all types of people, but that does not have any bearing on the religion they profess.

Islamic banking without interest is the most feasible to insulate against losses due to inter dependencies, and many countries have opened their doors to it. It is based on profit sharing basis and the details of the terms must be studied to be evaluated and understood. It varies between most contracts based on what is taken into consideration. Investor gets a share of the profit generated and is not based on a fixed percentage as in the case of interest and compounding interest. It is purely the intention that matters most. Either both parties will benefit through profit sharing, or both parties are losers and get nothing from it, which is rare due to extensive feasibility and viability evaluation methods adopted before investments are made. Then again, all Arab Banks (like you say) are NOT Sharia compliant, as most still operate under the old conventional interest dependent Banking regulations, but there are some having hybrid models to get the best of both worlds and mainly based on satisfying customer’s requirements. Comparatively, very few 100 percent Sharia compliant Banks in the world, as it is still in its nascent stage.

In your other accusations, what percentage of Muslims living in the world today come from poor countries, poor because of their religion being Islam? How many Muslims are drug addicts or drug dealers? Where is the statistics – numbers to prove your point. You are like the some famous politicians who speak rubbish plucking numbers out of the sky to support their point. Your animosity towards Muslims and the religion of Islam is legendary and needs no introduction. We Muslims don’t come criticizing you and your religion over some silly and crazy things your people do like cow worship, so why don’t you just leave us alone to ourselves and stop fantasizing and cooking up imaginary offenses to denigrate us Muslims.

    Mr. Hussein:

For some time, I browsed through your articles. Trust me. Islam is peaking. After that, it will be only going down. Wahabism is there for it.Why ?.

Wahabism is a result of western influence. So, only way it can happen is stupid muslims wreck their own religion. WHY ?. Because, Mohomad was not a grand master.

Believe me, there are intelligent people in the world and they will survive to see that Islam too survive.

Remember christianity had started going down by 1700s.

Izzeth Hussain , has written a whole load of “poppycock”.
There is only one Islam. That is the Quran and. Sunnah.
Imam Muhammad IBN Abdul Wahab did not come with a new religion.
I challenge Izzeth to give one thing the Imam has stated ,which contradicts the Quran and/ or Sunnah.
Wahhabism is a term coined by the deviants, such as grave worshippers ,Sufis and others, to denigrate Islam.
Islam is Allah’s religion as stated in the Quran and Allah has promised to protect it until the end of time.

      Abu

“Why? Why? Why? Don’t you have anything better to do? I invited you to an open debate on the subject and you have not responded.”

Can your please answer the 5 simple questions below, which many Muslims would like to know.

Debate what? the Sun going around the Earth a per Revelation by Joshua in the Bible? To Promote the Satan, Iblis following Wahhabies, Abdul-Iblis, and their Clones to mislead the Muslims? Muslims did fine until the Wahhabites, Abdul-Iblises, Wahhabies came around to deceive Allah swt following Muslims.

Amarasiri asked 5 simple questions from you earlier. Can you please respond in writing, so that we can debate, more efficiently and with more participants?

      Abu,

May be, you can answer Amarasiri’s simple Question which J. Deane has so far not answered.

Public debates are very inefficient, when it involves very simple questions. When the questions become very complex, then public debates become useful.

Amarasiri has a few more simple questions, you may be able to answer, God Willing, In Sha Allah.

      Q1. Amarasiri’s question was:
“What did Shaik Muhammad Abdul Wahab teach the Meccan and Medina Quran’s did NOT teach? Call other Muslims Non-Muslims and Kill them, based on instructions from Iblis, Satan. Examples are killing of Shia Muslims, Sufi Muslims, Ahmedia Muslims, Christian, Jews and other people.”

      What is your specific answer?
Amarasiri could not find an answer in the Quran or Hadith. May Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala- Glorified and Exalted is He) guide you to answer Amarasiri’s questions so that all Humankind can know them.

Q2. How did Muslims manage to practice Islam for 1,200 years before Abdul Wahhab appeared and preached? Were they not Muslims then. They certainly were NOT Wahhabies or their Clones.

Q3. Why did Abdul Wahhab stone a women to death, when in the Holy Quran, Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala- Glorified and Exalted is He), specifically said, 100 lashes?

Is it because the Iblis, Satan wanted it that way, to go against Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala- Glorified and Exalted is He) instructions, as he did oin Heaven, with Adam?

Q4. What did Abdul Wahhab say about the Quran. Was the Quran Created or Uncreated,? Q5. Wahhabi sack of Karbala Why?

      5. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wahhabi_sack_of_Karbala

The Wahhabi sack of Karbala occurred in 21st of April 1802 (1216 Hijri), under the rule of Abdul-Aziz bin Muhammad the second ruler of the First Saudi State, killing above 5000 of the inhabitants and plundered the tomb of Husayn ibn Ali (grandson of Muhammad and son of Ali bin Abu Talib (the cousin and son-in-law of Muhammad)) which was destroyed.

      According to a Wahhabi chronicler `Uthman b. `Abdullah b. Bishr:

“The Muslims” — as the Wahhabis referred to themselves, not feeling the need to distinguish themselves from other Muslims, since they did not believe them to be Muslims — scaled the walls, entered the city … and killed the majority of its people in the markets and in their homes. [They] destroyed the dome placed over the grave of al-Husayn [and took] whatever they found inside the dome and its surroundings … the grille surrounding the tomb which was encrusted with emeralds, rubies, and other jewels … different types of property, weapons, clothing, carpets, gold, silver, precious copies of the Qur’an.” Appreciate, simple less complicated answers. Thank you in advance.

“Amarasiri you’re sheer entertainment to the forum, as for intellectual exchange “

Can you please answer the Questions.

If you do not know, say you do not know. Then ask your Wahhabi Ulama. They may or may mot have the answers.

Ask anybody, any Ulama or Imam, who claims to be Muslim.

What I get from the Hadith is that whenever a believer or a non-believer asked a question from Prophet Mohamed, PBUH, he always replied and gave an answer.

Are you a Muslim, who follows Alla h Swt?

Or are you a Wahhabi or its Clone who follows Iblis-Satanic teachings of “Sheik” Abdul Wahhab, who stoned women to death, when the Holy Quran, required 100 lashes?

Age of Reason by Thomas Paine
Paine’s original work was published in two parts in 1794 and 1795, titled Part First and Part II, and it sold very well in America. Part III was completed in the late 1790’s, but Thomas Jefferson convinced Paine not to publish it in 1802, aware of the possible reprisals. Five years later Paine decided to publish despite the backlash he knew would ensue. It did not sell well.

Ibn Abi Du’ad came to him and said, ‘O Ahmad, say in my ear: ‘The Qur’an is created,’ so that I may save you from the hand of the Caliph.’ So Imam Ahmad said to him, “O Ibn Abi Du’ad, say in my ear: ‘The Qur’an is the Speech of Allaah, it is not created,’ so that I save you from the punishment of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic!!” [“Al-Manhaj Al-Ahmad”, 1/35].

          So,

          1. Quran is not created. So the Quran existed Eternally?

          2. The Qur’an is the Speech of Allah, so existed eternally along with Allah, swt?

Then associating Quran with Allah, swt, is not in conflict with Towhid, because Allah, swt, and the Quran are the same?

          Thank you for the information.

It is all right to ask the questions. You get into trouble only when you answer, except Prophet Mohamed, PBUH.

I have another Question, related to Haj and Umra.

1.) The Five Days of Haj. Why only 5 days and what is the basis of this? Any historical significance?

          http://www.islam4theworld.net/islam/pillars/hajj/5days_of_hajj.htm

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hajj

The pilgrimage occurs from the 8th to 12th (or in some cases 13th[10]) of Dhu al-Hijjah, the last month of the Islamic calendar. Because the Islamic calendar is lunar and the Islamic year is about eleven days shorter than the Gregorian year, the Gregorian date of Hajj changes from year to year. Ihram is the name given to the special spiritual state in which pilgrims wear two white sheets of seamless cloth and abstain from certain actions.

          2. The other 360 days are considered Umra. Why? What is the basis?

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umrah

The ʿUmrah (Arabic: عمرة‎) is a pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, performed by Muslims that can be undertaken at any time of the year, in contrast to the Hajj. In Arabic, Umrah means “to visit a populated place”. In the Sharia, Umrah means to perform Tawaf round the Kaaba and Sa’i between Al-Safa and Al-Marwah, after assuming Ihram (a sacred state), either from a Miqat like Zu ‘l-Hulafa, Juhfa, Qarnu ‘l-Manāzil, Yalamlam, Zāt-i-‘Irq, Ibrahīm Mursīa, or a place in Hill. It is sometimes called the ‘minor pilgrimage’ or ‘lesser pilgrimage’, the Hajj being the ‘major’ pilgrimage and which is compulsory for every able-bodied Muslim who can afford it. The Umrah is not compulsory but highly recommended.

Orthodoxy Vs. Reason Debate. Orthodoxy won! Islamic Reason and Science Declined.

          Here is something for you.

In the Muslim world, the doctrine that the Quran is uncreated has been unchallenged among the Sunni Muslims for many centuries, while Shia Twelvers and Zaydi, and the Kharijites believe the Quran is created. Sufi philosophers view the question as artificial or wrongly framed.

          Quranic createdness

Createdness refers to the doctrinal position that the Qur’an was created, rather than having always existed and thus being “uncreated”. The dispute over which was true became a significant point of contention in early Islam. The Islamic rationalist philosophical school known as the Mu’tazila held that if the Quran is God’s word, logically God “must have preceded his own speech”.Traditionists, on the other hand, held the numerous hadith support the contention that Qur’an was co-eternal with God and hence, uncreated.

The controversy over the doctrine among Sunnis came to a head during the reign of Abassid Caliph Abd Allah al-Ma’mun. In 827 CE, al-Ma’mun publicly adopted the doctrine of createdness, and six year later instituting an inquisition known as the mihna (test) to “ensure acquiescence in this doctrine”. According to Sunni tradition when “tested” Traditionist Ahmad ibn Hanbal refused to accept the doctrine of createdness despite two years imprisonment and being scourged until unconscious. Eventually, thanks at least in part to Hanbal’s courage and commitment, a new Caliph ended the mihna, the Mu’tazila fell from favor, and orthodoxy resumed its dominance.

In coming years it was the minority of Muslims who believed in Quranic createdness who were on the receiving end of the sword or lash. 12th century Almoravid jurist Qadi Ayyad, citing the work of Malik ibn Anas, wrote that:

He said about someone who said that the Qur’an is created, “He is an unbeliever, so kill him.” He said in the version of Ibn Nafi’, “He should be flogged and painfully beaten and imprisoned until he repents.” In the version of Bishr ibn Bakr at-Tinnisi we find, “He is killed and his repentance is not accepted.”

          The significance of hadith

That the question of the createdness of the Qur’an is, among other things, a hermeneutical issue is reflected in the variety of arguments and issues that associate with it – whether the Qur’an or the traditions assert the Qur’an’s createdness, what “created” means, and whether and how this affects the standing of these texts as authoritative and as a consequence, the status of those who study them. Where the Qur’an is understood as the word of God, and the words and example of the Prophet transmitted through hadith also attain to divine significance, if the Qur’an cannot be taken to assert its own createdness, for the doctrine of createdness to be true the traditions would have to support it. Indeed to admit the insufficiency of the hadith corpus to adjudicate what with the institution of the mihna becomes such a visible dispute would necessarily marginalize the authority of traditions. Thus it is not by accident that al-Ma’mun decides to administer the test on religious scholars. The test of the mihna was applied neither universally nor arbitrarily. In fact, the letter that Al-Ma’mun sent to his lieutenant in Baghdad instituting the mihna stipulated that the test be administered to qadis and traditionists (muhaddithin). Both of these groups regard hadith as central to Qur’anic interpretation and to matters of Islamic jurisprudence. In particular, the rhetorical force of muhaddithin acceptance of the doctrine is then to concede that either or both of the Qur’an and the hadith corpus attest to the doctrine, simultaneously validating the caliph’s theological position and legitimizing his claim to hermeneutical authority with regard to the sacred texts.

The case of Ahmad ibn Hanbal

The significance of ibn Hanbal’s stand for orthodoxy is constituted in his refusal to engage in kalam during his interrogation. He was willing to “argue” but only on the basis of the Qur’an or the traditions and their “literal” meaning. While this distinction itself is difficult to make in practice, its value is in part rhetorical, for the assertion marks his orthodox identity as one who stands by the absolute authority of the sacred texts over-above those who make use of reason. The role of Muslim scholar and muhaddith, Ahmad ibn Hanbal in the mihna has garnered significant attention in later historiography. It is said that ibn Hanbal was tested during the minha. Though imprisoned and later scourged, he refused to accept the doctrine of createdness and Patton presents him as a stalwart of orthodoxy, claiming that he did more than any other to strengthen the position of orthodoxy.

          Mihna

Scholars such as John A. Nawas and Walter M. Patton, have advanced various hypotheses in an attempt to account for the caliph’s actions. Patton for instance, claims that while partisans might have made political capital out of the public adoption of the doctrine, al-Ma’mun’s intention was “primarily to effect a religious reform.” Nawas on the other hand, argues that the doctrine of createdness was a “pseudo-issue,” insisting that its promulgation was unlikely an end in itself since the primary sources attached so little significance to its declaration.

Amarasiri amazes me with his verbosity! For his furor scribendi. He keeps repeating that perennial question of his, whilst expecting an irrational answer of surrender. In his blindness he cannot grasp that the question has been answered but he cannot accept defeat not unlike Oliver Goldsmith’s village school master.

What is Amarasiri’s simple Question which J. Deane has so far not answered? Amarasiri asks

What did Shaik Muhammad Abdul Wahab teach the Meccan and Medina Quran’s did NOT teach? Call other Muslims Non-Muslims and Kill them, based on instructions from Iblis, Satan. Examples are killing of Shia Muslims, Sufi Muslims, Ahmedia Muslims, Christian, Jews and other people.” What is your specific answer?

The construction of the question itself is devoid of any dialectic. Simply put Amarasiri wants justification of Sheik Wahab’s alleged teaching of tashrik and his orders to kill wantonly.
To answer this Let us delve a short while into the situation of “Najd” before Sheik Wahab started preaching.

The eighteenth century was an era of Western colonial expansionism. The entire Muslim World was groaning under the iron heels of the European colonialists. The mighty Ottoman Empire was heading towards a collapse. Muslim society suffered from superstitions, pagan practices, heretical innovations and apostatical leanings. The concept of pure and uncompromising Tawhid (monotheism) got mixed up with polytheism. Hijaz, the land of two sanctuaries of Islam, was no exception. The whole of the Arabian Peninsula was under the grip of superstitions and Jahiliya practices. Najd, the central part of the Peninsula, had also lapsed into pre-Islamic heathenism. Despite such a gloomy picture, the reformative impulse was always active and operational.

Bedouin Arabia had slipped into ignorance, barbarism, bloodletting, discord and corruption. Religion was perverted and the socioeconomic and cultural life was paralysed. Few God-fearing ‘Ulama’ were combating the heathen beliefs and practices, such as stone, tree and grave worship. The state of affairs in Najd was awful:
“… They called upon idols and sought their intercession and aid, offered sacrifices to stones and rocks and trees in the belief that these possess the power to bring good and ward off evil, and so people sought their pleasure and approbation through
offerings …..” (Ahmad Abdul Ghafur in Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhaab)

Bedouins assaulted the travellers and caravans and killed innocent men and women. Assassins fell upon villages and towns during day and night. They would plunder towns, kill and enslave people and kidnap children and infants to sell them into slavery. Since there was no strong ruler to ensure peace and security and since petty states were ruled by absolute tyrants, devoid of Islamic spirit, public safety was non-existent. The devilish and wicked rulers and leaders hired criminals to kill the ‘Ulama’ who were preaching the truth of Islam or were frightening the people with the punishments of the Hereafter. The ‘Ulama’, judges, notables, preachers and guides of Al-Kasim were killed in 1196 A.H., without discrimination. A conference was convened by the criminals to decide the fate of all those who preached reform. The unanimous decision of the conference was:

“… to get rid of the ‘Ulama’ by murder and every town and village would slay its ‘Ulama’ in a single day … ”

Thus on the specified day the ‘Ulama and learned men in every town and village were killed. It was on Friday that the ‘Ulama’ of Al-Khabra, and Al-Janah were slain when they were going to the mosque for their Friday prayers. Other towns and villages followed Suite.

There was a general belief among Najdians that certain shrines, domes, stones and trees possessed the power to harm and protect people. The famous palm tree called “al-Fahhal” in Bleida was worshipped by men and women. The women would invoke its help and asked it to give her a husband or a child. The tree of ‘Tarjiya’ was worshipped in the same way. The cave, situated in the hill of Dar’iya, was the centre of pilgrimage. It was claimed that the cave was the grave of the daughter of a Prince. She was a great female saint. People invoked her for aid. [source: Shaikh Husain ibn-Ghannam as enumerated in his famous book ‘Rawdat al-Afkar wal-Afham’ which mirrors the contemporary life in Najd. He has recorded numerous other tragedies of a similar nature in his book]

The Amirs and rulers, being totally ignorant of the laws of Allah, were blinded by lust, prejudices and mad impulses, slaying people without reason, and plundering their houses and lands. Wars were rampant among the tribal chiefs and Amirs who would enslave women and sell them for adultery. The savage bestiality swayed supreme. The two families, comparatively better in administering justice, were the rulers of Dar’iya and ‘Uyaina. The former was ruled by the Sa’ud family while the latter was under the rule of the family of Muammar. They were religiously orientated. Other parts of the country were governed by tyrants and despots. Riyad was ruled by Daham ibn-Dawas, a tyrant and hypocrite of the first order, who would sew the mouths of women, cut the tongues of innocent people, break their teeth and slash flesh from their bodies and force them to eat their own flesh after being roasted. He was a peerless brute, whose sports was nothing but pillage, plunder and aggression.

That was the background of pitch darkness when Shaikh Muhammad ibn-‘Abd-al-Wahhab appeared on the scene and started his Da’wa work. He was full of hope and promise and dispelled the clouds of gloom and frustration that had engulfed the souls of people. He revived the concept of pure Tawhid (monotheism) and called people to return to pristine Islam – the Quran and the Sunna. He launched his movement with full vigour and resolved to cut the roots of heathenism, superstitions and heretical innovations with the sharp scissor of Tawhid. Ruthless battles with the formidable adversaries had to follow and migration and persecutions were in store for the Shaikh. Had there been no protection of Allah descending on the Shaikh, he would have perished.

The Shaikh started teaching people the Qur’aan, and Hadith and the concept of Tawhid and invited them to return to pristine Islam and renounce the idolatrous cult. I will not go into details of the Sheiks life except to mention one item of importance viz. the demolition of the dome from the tomb of a grave, which was ascribed to Zaid ibn-al-Khattab, situated at Gubaila. Scholars do hold that the said grave has not yet been located by archaeologists. The supposed grave was a centre of pilgrimage, where people committed idolatrous acts. It was, however, demolished in the presence of the ruler of ‘Uyaina. The tomb was a means of earning a living. The ruler himself took part in its demolition. People were now more scared of divine afflictions and chastisement of the town that had to follow after such acts of desecration. But their faith was further strengthened when they saw that no affliction descended on them from the heavens. Consequently, people followed the call of the Shaikh in large numbers. ‘Uyaina and its suburbs were cleared from such trees, stones and domes.

Another important feature was the set of dissenting ‘Ulama’, who repeatedly, constituted a united front in exciting the states and the public against the Shaikh. Since the Shaikh did not believe in verbal exhortation and guidance and since he was a political positivist, and took part in battles along with Ibn- Sa’ud, he was suspected, disliked and disowned by the ‘Ulama’ who had accepted gladly the divorce between religion and politics or the state. The Shaikh believed that Islam needed political authority in order to uphold and support the commandments of the Qur’aan and the Sunna. The Shaikh neither introduced any new doctrine nor invented a new creed in Islam. Revival of the concept of Tawhid and renunciation of heathen practices was the core of his call.

Despite insurmountable obstacles blocking the way as fetters on his movement, he clung fast to the Qur’aan and the Sunna. He died as a poor man. The great Imaams of Islam, such as Imaam Ahmad ibn Hanbal of Madina, Imaam Ibn-Taimiya and Imaam ibn-Qayyim al-Jawzi, served as inspirational sources for him in the field of reform and reconstruction of the Muslim society which had relapsed into heathenism and had drifted rapidly from its pristine origins. It is significant to note that the aforementioned Imaams also had suffered and confronted great tribulations in their efforts to keep the flame of True Islam alight.

We now come to the question of the NEJD in relation to the Hadith of the Nejd.
“We have experienced many western educated people claiming to be able to reinterpret Islam by reference to the Holy Qur’an only, disregarding entirely the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet on one pretext or another. Unwittingly or wittingly they strike at the very foundation on which Islam has been firmly based for the last fourteen centuries
It should be well understood that the exponents of this theory are themselves entirely devoid of the essential knowledge required for expressing any opinion about Islam. The Qur’an has been studied in translation without any solid grounding in the Arabic language, the books of Hadith and the earliest sources of Islamic Law have not been studied at all, even Islamic history is only known at third or fourth hand. How anyone, with such hopelessly inadequate preparation can have the effrontery to pontificate about such a deep subject as Islam, is one of the tragedies of the modern era. In previous, more enlightened times they would have been dismissed as mischievous ignoramuses but today even the flimsiest superficiality passes for learning, and mere mental aberrations for thought. History is blatantly contradicted, logic is flouted, as if these two essentials of intelligent human thinking are of no value. Indeed, they are of no value to those who wish to put forward pure fictions of their imagination as truth, for history and logic are their worst enemies.” Alaama Zubedi Said in Tajul-Urus in the Explanation of Jamus Vol.2 pg.511 and Alaama Hamumui in (Mawjam Al-Bildaan Vol.19 Pg.265.)

He pointed out the List of Najds.
        1-Najd Yamen.
        2-Najd Iraq.
        3-Najd Hijaaz.
        4-Najd Khal.
        5-Najd Al-Shari.
        6-Najd Azaar.
        7-Najd Al-Aqaab.
        8-Najd Kabkab.
        9-Najd Mari.
        10-Najd Alwaz.
        11-Najd-e-Aja.
        12-Najd Barqq

I have already quoted references wherein the Holy Prophet explicitly mentioned that it was Iraq that was not blessed. In addition I cited the following references in support.

The word Najd referred to by Amarasiri in the Hadiths quoted by him as a place of fitnah is none other than IRAQ. The following historical events confirm this

        a) Fitna e Khawarij came from Iraq.
        b) Those who martyred Uthman (Radiallah Anh) were from Iraq.
        c) Hazrat Ali(Radiallah Anh) was Martyred in Iraq.
        d) Hazrat Hussain(Radiallah Anh) was martyred at Karbala – Iraq.
        e) Hazrat Umar Bin Khattab(Radiallah Anh) was martyred by Piruzan also known as known as Abu Lulu, he was slave of Mughira ibn Shu’ba the governor of Busra.

There was never a man who brought some goodness to this world but he had enemies among mankind and the jinn. Even the Prophets of Allaah were not safe from that.

The enmity of people was directed against the scholars in the past, especially the proponents of the true call (of Islam). They were met with intense hostility from the people. An example of that is Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allaah have mercy on him); some of those who were jealous of him regarded it as permissible to shed his blood, others accused him of being misguided and of going beyond the pale of Islam and becoming an apostate.

Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhaab was simply another of these wronged scholars who were falsely accused by people, in an attempt to cause trouble (fitnah). People’s only motives for doing that were jealousy and hatred, along with the fact that bid’ah was so firmly entrenched in their hearts, or they were ignorant and were blindly imitating the people of whims and desires

        Conclusion:
The period in Nejd in the pre- Sheik Wahab era was a state of utmost chaos. The crimes including banditry was very similar to the havoc created and executed by ISIS, Taliban and Al-Qaeeda. All anti Islamic, anti-Wahabist. The situation was corrected and set aright by Sheik Muhammad. Amarasiri the understanding of the correct Belief in Islam is sine qua non. The writings of Sheik Muhammad elucidate this and he has done an invaluable service to Islam and Muslims in this regard. You are in terra incognita in this field. So instead of calling him names you should extricate yourself from the trap that IBLIS has held you in for so long. Do us a favour and pull your proxy IH also out of the trap!!

Scholar from al-Azhar: Wahhabism is a Satanic Faith, the Horn of the Devil that Muhammad Predicted

Yusri Rushdi al-Sayyid Jabr al-Husni, a Sunni Muslim religious scholar from the world’s oldest and most prestigious Islamic school, the Honorable al-Azhar, has stated that Wahhabis who are also known by other names such as Salafis, Najdis, and Horners, are in fact the Horn of the Devil, a term used by the prophet Muhammad in reference to a satanic faith that shall come out of Najd (Saudi Arabia).

Conversation Between Satan and a Wahabi

Shaitan (Satan, Iblees) met an apparent Muslim who in fact was a follower of Wahabi sect. Here is their conversation…….

Satan: Do you believe in Allah?
Wahabi: Yes, Alhamdulillah. I strongly believe in Allah.
      Satan: Me too.
Satan: Do you make shirk with Allah? (Associating anyone in the worshiping of Allah)
      Wahabi: NEVER.
      Satan: Me too.

Satan: Do you show respect towards Prophet? (i.e. Prophet Muhammad, peace upon him)
      Wahabi: I only respect Allah.
      Satan: Me too.
Satan: Do you believe in the Messenger of Allah?
Wahabi: Yes, but He is now dead. Allah is alive.

Satan: Thanks. I am glad you said that he is dead.
Satan: So, you do not believe Muhammad is alive in his grave? (peace be upon him)
      Wahabi: No.
      Satan: Me too.

Satan: Do you praise the Prophet and his Ahlebait.
      Wahabi: I only praise Allah.
      Satan: Me too.
Satan: Do you visit their Rawdha (i.e. the holy grave)?
Wahabi: What Rawdha? I visit mosque only.
      Satan: Me too.

Satan: Do you celebrate your Prophet’s birthday?
      Wahabi: NEVER. I hate it.
      Satan: Me too.

Satan: Do you visit the Mazarat (holy shrines) of Ahlebait?
      Wahabi: NEVER
      Satan: Me too.

      Satan: Do you celebrate “urs”.
      Wahabi: NEVER
      Satan: Me too.

It is as though we Muslims are having enough to put up with Islam bashing, Muslim bashing by all and sundry, and in the midst of all this hullabaloo, Muslims bashing Muslims, with no respite in the offing. No one will come forward to expose the true teachings of Islam and defend its stance on the many social fronts more than its own followers. Izzeth, surely you can write to the many Muslim tabloids and journals involving Muslim Affairs, and they will have the right type of Islamic scholars to argue the case for and against your claims. But in these columns, it is only Amerasiri and his own theories on Iblis = Wahabism is what we fed with and forced to repeatedly read over and over again like flogging the dead camel – no effect. Other vested interests simply hold our noble religion and our Prophet to such ridicule in the name of free speech, so much that it seems like we are giving them the stick to beat us with. Why can’t we just make this your final episode and pray that we don’t have to put up with another round of Countering Wahabism – Part III which will only demoralize us further to fight the good battle. At least not in your life time. We even have stray dogs running around barking and hurting us demanding attention, whilst CT editors refuse to do anything about using their judgement sensibly to censor these obvious hate mongers.

So in your eyes, those exposing the obvious evils of the cancerous ideology known as Islam are the hate mongers? What about those folks who adhere to a certain religion that calls for killing apostates, stoning women, raping underaged girls, beheading, and forcing their way of life on everyone else? You should be force fed pork for your ignorance.

Yes Mr Marwan there seems to be a serious problem for Muslims world over. Under the leadership of Israel the world is set to roll back Islam out of civilization.

      0

Marwan – you are capable of serious dialogue. I am therefore addressing this reply to you, but it should be noted by other Muslims as well. Why is it that the Islamic scholars you refer to don’t reply in the CT? I can think of two reasons. One is that they find it difficult or impossible to refute my arguments at a serious level. They don’t want to reply at the asinine level of an Ahmed Reza because they know that thereby they will be making asses of themselves and loose their credibility as Islamic scholars.
The second reason is that – if indeed they are Islamic scholars – they will know that I am making a critique of Wahabism strictly from the standpoint of orthodox Islam. It is generally agreed that the most authoritative voice on orthodox Islam is that of the Al Azhar scholars. You and other Muslims should take a look at that video, posted by Amarasiri several times, in which a top Al Azhar cleric condemns Wahabism without any equivocation. He warns against making any distinction between Wahabism and its clones. He cites also that hadith in which the Prophet showed stunning prescience in predicting that the Horn of the Devil would manifest itself in the Najd. That certainly fits the Wahabi clones. In conclusion, I want you and the others never to lose sight of the fact that I have behind me the might and majesty of orthodox Islam. I have not the slightest doubt that that Islam, in its modernising versions, will destroy the Yanko-Zionist-Petro Islam that goes by the name of Wahabism – IH

Succinctly stated. However, the Wahhabies and their Clones must be Expose, exposed and exposed. This means education of the Muslims. This is a long term project, when about 50% of the Muslims still believe that the Sun goes around the Earth. Goodbye Copernicus, Galileo and Kepler.

We all know, that the Wahhabi movement was recently revived by the 18th century teacher Sheikh Muhammad ibn Abd-al-Wahhab in the Arabian peninsula, and was instrumental in the rise of the House of Saud to power. The terms “Wahhabi movement” and “Salafism” are often used interchangeably, although the word “Wahhabi” is specific for followers of Muhammad ibn Abd-al-Wahhab. The works of scholars like Ibn Taymiyya, Ibn al Qayyim and Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab are used for religious guidance. [83] Critics claim that Muslim Terrorism is the direct offshoot of the fanatical Islamic cult known as Wahabism, which runs Mecca and believes in the destruction of non Islamic cultures and is financed by Saudi Arabia.

However, Islamic schools and branches do not contain Wahhabism, even though Wahhanis are creeping under the Hanbali school.

A Map of Islam without the Wahhabis. Generally peaceful, except for the Deoband Movement.

The radical Muslims who had commented here remain blind as bats so there’s no point in trying to save them from eternal hell. They will have NO virgins to grope. For them it’s the same old record “there is only one God….” Bs. Most people (except the uneducated and illiterate) believe otherwise so let’s watch them destroy their own religion which is ironically a shame. Their religion teaches many good things but with little education the mullahs interpret it differently. The followers are illiterate, dumb or both that they cannot comprehend the true message or the essence of what Allah said !

The word Wahabi, like the word Islam, has been hijacked and used by different groups while the word Wahabi is a misnomer. Names don’t matter in reality, instead, the practices and action matter. Muslims must be conscious of Allah before letting their tongues or pens mention such terms and make such unfounded accusations whether directly or indirectly by posting articles contrary to Islamic teachings.

Calling to pure monotheism can never be exaggerated. Arabia was nomadic at that time Prince Mohammed Ibn Saud’s alliance with Sheikh Mohammed Ibn Abdul Wahhab. Muslims cannot imagine Arabia today if not for their efforts, it would be infested with innovations and grave worship.

Sheikh Mohammed Ibn Abdul Wahhab used peaceful methods to educate Muslims and he continued his tireless efforts unabated by those who resisted his reforms. Prince Mohammed Ibn Saud continued to passionately support the Sheikh and believe in his cause. But the enemies were working very hard to spread disinformation and resistance to the Sheikh’s reforms throughout Arabia and the rest of the Muslim World. They also started aggression against those who accepted the Sheikh’s call using violence and terror as their tools, after having failed to refute the Sheikh’s evidence and proof.

Sheikh Mohammed Ibn Abdul Wahhab did not bring anything new, he only revived pure Islamic monotheism and cleaned up the polytheistic mystic practices and beliefs that were prevalent during the Ottoman Empire in general, and in the Arabian peninsula in particular, where grave and saint worship became the norm. He promoted adhering to the Sunnah, that is, Prophet Muhammed peace and blessings be upon him’s way, free from innovations in religion.

The so-called Wahhabi never labelled themselves as such. The loose label, which is only used to distinguish an orthodox practicing Muslim who frees himself form all partisanship, revolutionary ideologies, and mystical innovative groups. The label Wahhabi was used by the West to negatively name the religious revivalist movement. Unfortunately, certain Muslims, particularly those who adhere to mysticism, followed suit in the labeling game because this movement was against the practices of grave and saint worship in which extreme sects are immersed. Worshiping or calling onto anyone other than Allah is a form of major polytheism.

All the data, the Hadith and actions point towards, the Wahhabi and the clones being Agents, Slaves, servants of Satan, Iblis, Abdul-Iblis.

See the Hadith of Najd. Propjet Mohamed, PBUH, is very Prophetic when he gave the Hadith of Najd, 1,200 years, before it happened. He gave the exact location and the name of that location.

There is no excuse for you to be a Wahhabi or any of its clones any more. Take this you have been informed and warned about the Satan. Iblis, and if you continue to follow the Satan, Iblis and harass the Muslims who follow Allah, swt, you will end up in Hell Fire, along with Iblis, Saatn, as per Islamic Theology, given in the Holy Quran.
      Devil (Islam)
The primary characteristic of the Devil is hubris. His primary activity is to incite humans and jinn to commit evil through deception, which is referred to as “whispering into the hearts”.The Quran mentions that Satans are the assistants of those who disbelieve in God: “We have made the evil ones friends to those without faith.”

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil_(Islam)

      1. The Term Wahhabi was used by the Ottomans to describe the Wahhabies during the Ottoman–Wahhabi War.The Ottoman–Wahhabi War also known as the Ottoman–Saudi War or the Ottoman-Salafi War, was fought from early 1811 to 1818, between Egypt Eyalet under the reign of Muhammad Ali Pasha (nominally under Ottoman Empire rule) and the army of the Emirate of Diriyah, the First Saudi State, resulted in the destruction of the latter.

      3. Where is Najd – HORN of SATAN?

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbHymIJWMfA

To all the doubters who still think Najd is in Iraq and not in Saudi Arabia.
ou noticed in this video that I quoted from scholars, Muslim geographers such as ibn Kurdadhbah, ibn Hawqal and even ibn Taymiyyah to leave you with no doubt that Najd is an area in modern day Saudi Arabia. Here I will once again quote ibn Taymiyyah so your mind will be at rest on this issue.

Shaykh ibn Taymiyyah said in commentary of the hadeeth (where the sun rises) in Musnad Ahmad vol. 5, pp. 372-373 which is graded as authentic (QUOTE): “directly east of the city of the Prophet (p) is where Musaylimah the Liar came from – this one who claimed prophethood after the death of the Prophet (p) – and many people followed him. He was fought by Abu Bakr as-Siddiq” (Al-Jawab us-Sahih li-man Baddala din al-Masih, vol. 6, pp. 127-128). Musaylimah came from Al-Yamaamah and as I showed you in this video, that is located within Najd. This proves that Shaykh ibn Taymiyyah UNDERSTOOD Najd to be within the Arabian Peninsula, (modern day Saudi Arabia) and not in Iraq.

Izeth seems to be a paid servant of the anti Muslim lobby active in this country of late. This man knows very about Islam. His version of Islam is shirq of all types – Grave worship, hanging of talismans, singing some songs in Arabic. These practices have no place in Islam as neither the Quran nor the Hadeeths profound these practices. These are INNOVATIONS of the mischief makers who call themselves Saints.

I am Abdul Wahab preached exactly this. So why call that way of life WAHABISM? Call it Islam.

In my opinion Izeth is actually countering Islam. Which brings us to the question : IS IZETH ANY ENEMY OF ISLAM? Allah knows best.

      1. “Izeth seems to be a paid servant of the anti Muslim lobby active in this country of late. This man knows very about Islam”

This man, Izeth Hussein, knows what Islam is. Many Ulama and their followers do not know what Islam is. The so-called Abdul Wahhabies and their clones, should be called Abdul-Iblises, are truly agents of Satan, Devil Iblis. They are stupid, and belive that stupidity is a virtue, to follow Iblis, Satan. The Holy Quran warns about Iblis over 25 times.

They go against the Holy Quran and Allah swt specific instructions and stone women to death and go to Karbala and other places and kill Muslim, yes Muslims. Why?

Because Iblis is using slaves of Iblis, Abdul-Iblis, to promote his ideology, because Iblis has been given time until the Day of Judgement, to cause havoc on Earth and then will be in Hell Fire. So, Iblis is recruiting Idiots like Abdul Wahhab, Ibn Taymiah and their clones to do his bidding, and have company in Hell Fire.

Izeth Hussein, Amarasiri and others are trying to save the Real Muslims from Hell Fire.

      2. ” I am Abdul Wahab preached exactly this. So why call that way of life WAHABISM? Call it Islam. “

Call a Spade a Spade, Call a Wahhabi, a Wahhabi, Wahhabism. Wahhabism is actually the creed preached by Abdul Wahhab based on Instruction from Iblis, Satan, Devil. May be Wahhabism should be called Iblism, and Wahab Abdul-Iblis, Slave or Servant of Iblis, Satan.

      Devil (Islam)

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil_(Islam)

The angels, being creatures of pure reason without lower animal desires, do not sin. When God created Adam, he commanded all the angels and Iblis (whose high rank allowed him to worship Allah with the angels) to prostrate to Adam. All the angels did so, but Iblis refused, and was deprived of Allah’s Mercy because of his arrogant disobedience. For this God cast him out of Jannah (paradise), and intended to punish him. Iblis begged God to delay the punishment until Yawm al-Qiyāmah (Last Judgment), and his request was granted.

      — Quran, sura 7 (Al-A’raf) ayat 11-12

Iblis was proud and considered himself superior to Adam, since Adam was made from clay and Iblis from smokeless fire. For this act of disobedience, God cursed him to Jahannam (Hell/Purgatory) for eternity, but gave him respite until the Day of Judgment, after Iblis requested it.[16] Iblis obtained permission from God and vowed that he would use this time to lead all men and women astray to Hell. In this way, he would prove humanity’s inferiority, and justify his act of defiance. For refusing to abide by the will of God, Iblis was cast out of Heaven, and thereafter he was called “Shaytan” (Satan).

Cholan, looks like you still haven’t recovered from the nandikadal debacle

Before asking anyone else why don’t you ask your jungle brethren why they are flocking to the western world as refugees instead of Tamil Nadhu or India, as usual you are such a hypocrite.

No matter how much you hate the Muslim things are not going to change, According to the last general election the TNA received only 650,000 votes in the northern and eastern province, even if we assume this is only 50% of the population, the total will not exceed 1.3 million, that is about 6% of the total 22 million, that means now you have become a tiny minority in Sri Lanka, and you can no longer ask for a separate state in Sri Lanka, in fact the Sinhalese are longer stupid, they have killed two birds in one stone, they won the war at the same time reduced the Tamil population by more than half in the country.

The only option left for you now is to put up shop in Canada or Norway.

    Cheers

      @ Moderate Man

Tamils majority of them are Hindus ..

Hindus are not against any religion …It s very common hindus visit Mosques …Churches…Vihaaras

Tamil in the west never attacked people or kill them in public places and shout glory ..

Why your fanatic religion prohibit visiting places of worships of other faiths?
Why you can’t read about other religion?
Why a Muslim woman can’t marry a man of another faith and live as a Muslim ….
without nonsense of cutting and changing his religion ?

But your fanatic Islam is against infidels ..why today 1 million Syrian lick the feet of infidel western governments for food..clothes…beds..????

Hindus in the west never asked for any special laws and they accept and obey the laws of their country of residences…your fanatics want STONE AGE sharia law specially for them what a joke

Soon not a single Muslim will not able to walk on the streets on western streets …
do you think infidels are idiots simply because the accept your Muslims fed and lodge them?

It is really a shame for Muslims to go and beg and cry western boarder guards …Saudi Arabis is the right place for all Muslims ….let them pray 6 times and enjoy honey and milk

Don’t worry about the Tamil population we have 70 million Tamils in just stone throwing distance ….

    @ Ahmed Reza, above @February 13, 2016 at 3:01 am:

Yours is a thoughtful and rational response to the article. Yes, I think it right that if you find certain aspects of what Izeth writes unacceptable, that you should say so.

I am not a Muslim; but what Izeth’s articles have done is to make people like me have respect for Islam, where otherwise we would have been dismissing all forms of Islam as fanaticism.

“The obfuscations in the Article . . .” you speak about is mainly about placing (the) “very thin line between veneration and worship.” Surely, you can set about debating that politely and without rancour. A God who is merciful will not surely fault anybody for not being able to draw that line in exactly the right place.

Marwan, February 13, 2016 at 1:43 pm: you seem to be concerned that Izeth writes about aberrations of Islam where non-Muslims will see all the warts on Islam. Yes, we see, understand them, and then begin to see much that is beautiful and hallowed – and human – about Islam. Does that mean that some of the bombast begins to be obvious to us? Perhaps. But also we actually read on, and realise that we must respect most of what we see in your religion. Isn’t that better than the hypocrisy of saying that religion (and politics) should never be discussed in polite society?

Most non-Muslims believe that “Islam was spread for the most part by the sword”; Izeth claims the opposite, and I am willing to listen further to such a man, because he has granted that some of the spreading was “by the sword”, but then we realise, AS A RESULT OF HIS WRITING, that the whole story is not that. Although I had known that Izeth always wrote well, it is not so long ago that I began to pay heed to what he is writing on the subject of the nature of Islam, and it has caused me to read much that is valuable in the Koran. I’m unlikely to convert to; the fact is that much of my thinking, the thinking of ALL human beings, is conditioned by how we were brought up in our early lives.

I know this to be a fact: “At present Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world.” I was possibly a little concerned at one time. However, if by Islam, we mean the reasonable way of life outlined by Izeth, I would encourage everybody, including my own children and grandchildren, to study it – if they feel so inclined! And that is the problem, today. Total materialism may not be as bad as religious fanaticism, but it presents dangers, which cannot be resolved by getting hysterical. We shouldn’t be quarrelling about details but should focus on spreading Peace and Love, and Understanding.

  • 12
    6

That Izeth Hussain depends on his livelihood from divisive and insidious sources to advance the lost cause of a questionable and intolerant faith has been pretty clear to readers in these pages for quite sometime. In continuously harping on the now universal falsehood “Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world today” he joins the hundreds of thousands of paid Islamic mouthpieces throughout the world to magnify this illusion. It is clear to the neutral reader Islam, by its own foolish adventurism to conquer the modern world by unnatural births, forced conversions etc in plural societies is on the run – almost everywhere. People refuse to sit in airplanes next to those who appear to be Islamic. A leading contender for the next President of the USA openly declared – in view of the many dangers adherents of this religion bring to many countries in the world – in the unprecedented call to stop Muslims from entering the USA – whether he was right or wrong being another matter. In Europe, their presence is resisted, they are distrusted and treated as social lepers. Even tolerant and accommodating Germany is at the end of its tether.

And this notorious anti-Tamil, once again, betrays his prejudice of Tamils and Hindus by excluding Hinduism from a list of what he calls This-Worldly religions, one more coinage of the controversial “scholar” Fortunately, the primordial Hindu tradition needs no certification from a mediocre Writer of its acceptance by billions – then and now – through its universal message of
Dharma, tolerance of other faiths and righteousness – among other salient features.

No wonder other communities in this country shocked at the fate that has befallen the Maldives – and now the Batticaloa and Eastern Province – are quite concerned about what is in store for them through a religion that teaches its own, for 17 centuries, killing an infidel (i.e. one of a different faith) is a requirement of every Muslim and will be rewarded with 72 maidens and an eternal life of non-stop good food and wine forever. The message certainly has fallen in the active ears of many local Muslim youth for decades now.

It is comforting to know you missed me. The feeling is mutual, Izeth [Edited out]. Though I have had occasional runs overseas, I have been regularly monitoring and reading the spirited comments in CT that includes your weekly, not necessarily welcome, imposition of questionable learning.

In my response, I merely centered on your predictable untruth Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world and to belie the sinister global agenda, now in full sing financed by the Saudis and others, to inflict this intolerant, savage, disunited religion on all mankind. The danger from this virus to the country and the region is a cause for great concern by many other communities, practising tolerant, inclusive religions – is abundantly clear. You respond with a minute list of “good certificates” to your writing and learning from many unnamed “scholars” As to your single fan in Brazil, in lighter vein, sometimes I wonder if you also contributed to contaminating that sprawling continent with the Zika virus via your “writing”

To counter what many actually think of you, here is a sample of what MUSLIM leaders have to say about your role – in this single thread alone.

One notes “this man knows very little about Islam” with another following “Izeth is a moron who does not know Islam”. Still another warns “don’t write to curry favour with” while yet another says “you are a poor analyst by any tandard”… “Hussein writes a lot of poppy cock” says one. Still a regular Muslim reader of some scholarship thunders “Why! Why!Why. Don’t you have anything better to do”

Personally I think that the Muslim who choses the name Amarasiri, Marwan, Jehan and other Muslims – using polite and decent language in debate – appear to know more about Islam. They have access to a wider repertoire of Islamic reference than the few names of different authors you regularly use as red herring to mitigate your much shallow learning and fragile intellect. Your regular usage of the names of these authors reminds me of that famous joke about Economists in public lectures relying on a sea of statistics that is compared to a drunk leaning on the street lamp more for support than illumination.

Good-day, Izeth [Edited out] – until next time.

          Kettikaran RE: Izeth Hussein Writings.

Amarasiri has great respect for Izeth Hussein’s writings. How many Sri Lankan Muslims, or Fot that matter Sri Lankans who are his caliber? It is Amarasiri’s Opinion that he understands Islam better than the so called Muslim leaders. He also has a general understanding of the other religions, unlike the many Muslim Ulama, these days. He is really a lotus flower in the Mud of Ulamas. The brains of the Ulama are filled with rote learning of the Quran and Hadith, and there is very little room for reason in theit brains. They have degraded to such an extent that they believe that stupidity, based on religion, is a Virtue.

The Muslim Scholars 1,000 years ago learned in addition to Islamic Theology, many other subjects including natural philosophy, astronomy, science, medicine etc.

The Islamic philosophers who prevailed from 800 to 1,100 CE, in Baghdad, during the Abbasid Caliphate made great progress. The debate was between Reason and Observation vs. revaluation.

The philosophers said that Reason supersedes revelation, if the data and observations support it.

The Religious scholars, said that Revelation, always triumphs Reason and observation. This was advanced by Hamid al Ghazali, around 1,200 CE, BUT he also said that if there is no conflict with Revelation, one can go on with reason and observation. For Political reasons,, the Religious scholars prevailed, because they were close to the people. Later Ghazali’s ideas were challenged by Averroes, but it was too late for Islamic science.

So, if everything to be known is in revelation, why Study philosophy science etc. Just study the religious texts. All the brightest studied Theology, minus Philosophy, Mathematics, science and astronomy, and that lead to the decline of Islamic Science and investigation.

So, the Islamic Civilization missed out on the Age of Reason and Enlightenment and is now in the Age of Revelation and Stupidity.

What is needed is for Izeth Hussein and a host of others, Muslims and Non-Muslims alike, to get the Muslims get to the age of reason and enlightenment, and downgrade Revelation, to personal belief like in Christianity.

          The Intellectual Collapse of Islam

Neil deGrasse Tyson lectures a crowd on how religious fundamentalism is the root of the collapse of the Islamic Golden age of Science and Mathematics in Baghdad. An Islamic scholar named Hamid Al-Ghazali deemed Mathematics evil.

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fl1nJC3lvFs

The Wahhabies, their Clones and the Fundamentalists are trying to do the opposite, i.e. get to the Age of Stupidity and Dark Ages. Looks like there a lot of “Muslims” who are stupid enough, to believe that stupidity is a Virtue.

Kettikaran – Dear old Kettie boy, must you make a spectacle of yourself by showing that you have been moronized by anti-Muslim racist hatred? You quote the puerile abusive idiocies of Muslim nonentities who hide behind a cowardly anonymity – just like you Kettie boy – and then you proclaim them “Muslim leaders”. Do you know their names? No. Have you the faintest idea who they are. No. But they are transformed into “Muslim leaders” for you. The truth is that you sense a kinship with them. They too are envious nonentities.
Amarasiri – Thanks for putting Kettie boy in his place. – IH

I am afraid there was a typo in my last comment. I meant “readers” and not Muslim leaders. That should put an end to Izeth’s vitriolic rant.

Whether the Muslim commentators I mentioned are “nonentities” quoting “puerile abusive idiocies” is something they may like to comment on. As for me, I have followed their comments and find them intelligent, polite and well informed of Islam – features outside your persona and mental make-up. I believe they are among the many fine Muslims in the country who might help to reduce this negative perception of Muslims in the country – caused by
a few irresponsible Muslims harping endlessly on Islam bent on publicity to themselves – at the risk of the safety of their people.

As to your comment “Amarasiri – Thanks for putting Kettie in his place” I am afraid, as often, you are well off target. The Muslim writing as Amarasiri appears to be well equipped with knowledge of Islam in depth. He usually writes politely and has in no way been critical of me here.

Kettikaran RE: Countering Wahabism – Part II

“And this notorious anti-Tamil, once again, betrays his prejudice of Tamils and Hindus by excluding Hinduism from a list of what he calls This-Worldly religions, one more coinage of the controversial “scholar” Fortunately, the primordial Hindu tradition needs no certification from a mediocre Writer of its acceptance by billions – then and now – through its universal message of Dharma, tolerance of other faiths and righteousness – among other salient features.”

The Current subject is: Countering Wahabism – Part II.

Amarasiri sees differences of opinion between you and Izeth Hussein, rooting to the Tamil-Muslim Racism issues. You also seem to believe that Izeth Hussein did not clearly represent Hinduism and its beliefs. Being a non-Hindu, one cannot expect Izeth Hissein to know much about Hinduism. CT must get a practicing Intellectual Hindu to write some articles. Can you write one?

Most people think that Hinduism is caste system and Sati-, the widow jumping into the fire, but there is more to it, and we all know that.

Kettikaran, Amarasoiri’s primary interest is in exposing the Satan Devil Following Wahhabis and their Clones, as per the Quran and Hadith, and make these Devil Followers defend either Iblisic Ideology based on the Quran and Hadith.

Amarasiri would like to see you coming up with intellectual arguments, based on the Quran and Hadith, to be given to the Wahhabies and their clones, as followers of Iblis, Satan. (Whether God or Satan exists, is a different matter and different theology)

Sam Harris tears down Muslim apologetics…..again.

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCOQukCn0kg

In this highly anticipated, explosive new book, the author of The End of Faith and Letter to a Christian Nation calls for an end to religion’s monopoly on morality and human values. In The Moral Landscape: How Science Can Determine Human Values, Sam Harris tears down the wall between scientific facts and human values to dismantle the most common justification for religious faith — that a moral system cannot be based on science.

Sam Harris: Islam Is Not a Religion of Peace

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfKLV6rmLxE

That is the only evidence and data they may accept, and Amarasiri and others have to present. Unlike in science, we do not have the luxury of repeating experiments.

Amarasiri has identified this as an intellectual Fight, and need to go after the Satanic Ulama, and expose them.

Unfortunately, no Ulama or “Islamic’ Scholar is accepting the Challenge, Why?

Hello Jposhua? The Catholic Church. Inquisition, Pope, Copernicus, Galileo, Kepler, Newton and Faulty? Can you hear Amarasiri’s quandary with the Satan following Wahhabies and theit Clones?

Want to know about the God of the Old Testament?

“The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.”

― Richard Dawkins, The God Delusion

Is the God of Islam as bad as the god of the Old testament? Or, are we talking about two different Gods?

The very readable commentator, who I believe is a Muslim but goes by the chosen pseudonym Amarasiri, writes “Most people think that Hinduism is caste system and Sati-, the widow jumping into the fire” But, Sir, you are sufficiently well informed to know that Sati, practised in some parts of North India, has been done away with during the time of Gandhi and other leaders in India. This is a further indication the primordial tradition of Sanathana Dharma – popularly called Hinduism – responds to the changes of the world and the good of man. So do civilised religions like Judaism and Christianity. The educated and informed world is all too well aware of this. Incidentally, widespread education and modernism is gradually dismantling the caste system in India, as you know, with marriages across the caste, even religious, barriers being common among the educated young in the fastly growing economic power.

As to your request for some “practicing Intellectual Hindu to write some articles..” allow me to remind you that there have been discussions among Christian, Jewish, Islamic scholars and those from the Hindu side in India for a long time clarifying grey perceptions. It looks to me like Islam today is forced to change in many aspects. Rights of women in Saudi Arabia are being grudgingly conceded (women driving, voting rights, other forms of basic equality) and now we learn the UAE is creating a Ministry of Happiness that includes a Ministry of Tolerance – clearly in response to pressure from within and the influences of a more civilised world. Whether there will be religious tolerance in Islamic countries in the near future is very much doubtful. Many scholars believe – and that includes many from liberal scholars in Egypt and Turkey – the many rigid features of Islam throughout the world today identified with serious HR abuses – will gradually crumble as Islamic societies throughout the world are beginning to gain the benefits of universal education and the revolution in Information Technology.

What issues do you have in mind. I am sure qualitied Hindu readers might like to learn of these at least from the academic angle.

        Many thanks.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. The problems, related to fundamentalism, as the literal reading of the scriptures have been identified. Read about Judaism and Reformed Judaism.

Amarasiri goes as the Egalitarian Rationalistic Philosopher, but unfortunately the various belief systems gets in the way. Wahhabism is currently the “Problem”, not the Spanish Inquisition and other Inquisitions.

500 Years ago, during the Spanish and European inquisitions, the Islamic World, looked very “Civilized”, except for the Colonial Expansions, everyone did in those days.

The Difference is that Europe and got to the Age of Reason and Enlightenment in the 17th Century.

Muslims missed the Age of Reason and Enlightenment in 1,000 years ago, and now the Wahhabis and the clones are making it very difficult for all. They have made the Saudis not functional, using their religious education system. The students have memorized the whole Quran, which can be easily downloaded into a flash drive or a mobile phone. They are not taught proper life skills for the 21st century. The Average GMAT score of Saudis is 311, courtesy Wahhabism, whereas that of Turkey and Iran are in the mid 550 and 520. Sri Lanka is 487.

Remember, Mustafa Kamel Ataturk of Turkey? He reformed Turkey, and made it secular.

          http://blog.prep4gmat.com/countries-with-the-highest-and-lowest-average-gmat-scores/

Yes, the Christians and Hindus are moving away from the excesses, and the Muslims are not, because of the Fundamentalists and the Wahhabists and theit Clones.

Your wholesale criticism of Islam, only helps the fundamentalists. You need to focus on the Fundamentalists, so that you can get the support of the general Muslim population, because they do not like the fundamentalists either.

Remember, on defeating Mahinda Rajapaksa, the focus was on Mahinda Rajapaksa, not on the Sinhala or the Sinhala Buddhists.

The Issue is Not Izzet Hussein. The issue is Wahhabism and its clones. Would appreciate very much if you can help him focus on his goal, instead of distracting him.

It is a privilege to engage with the highly literate and peace-reconciliation oriented Amarasiri. In many ways I believe Amarasiri is a truth seeker rather than one suffering a pre-determined Islamic agenda. Perhaps, I am one more in the readership grateful to you for your copious and regular material on Islam that provides an educative purpose

One of the negatives of the historical evolution process of recent centuries is that while other major religions in the world readily evolved with the changing world and the desires of man therein for a better quality of life, to use your words “Muslims missed the Age of Reason and Enlightenment 1,000 years ago” I agree entirely. In my view, this was one of the reasons Kemal Ataturk broke away from medieval Islam, banished the Caliphate and chose the Western path – by dress, written characteristics and so on. Clearly, he was concerned Turkey lagging behind the other powers in industrialising Europe lost out because of the rigidities of Islam. Although, the very talented vast land (which I was pleased to visit twice and be guest of wonderful Muslim Turks. Liberal I am, I took the chance to worship both at the Blue Mosque and Sophie’s Cathedral in Istanbul) But look at the situation there even after so much industrial development and liberalism. Purely for personal glory, Erdogwan chose to go the Fundamentalist path in that battle between Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt and Iran (and since PLO, Al-Qaeda, ISIS) for supremacy of the Islamic world. Erdogwan is walking the tight rope now trying to remain pro-Fundamentalist Islamic and at the same time trying to take Turkey, sometimes dubbed “the sick man of Europe” – into the highly industrialised and Christian-dominated EU. I am sure you recall the considered words of former French President Giscard D’estaing “Europe will not allow Fundamentalist Erdogwan to enter the EU” Erdogwan gained the notoriety of all of Europe when he once said “the minarets in our Mosques are the machine-gun turrets of Islam” This provocative remark was made when he was trying to win an election in Turkey and to win the votes of the large Sunni Fundamental vote bank in Turkey. He may have won an Election but he failed, once again, to gain a better Quality of Life as members of the EU.

As we know, the influential Kurds – an important minority – are Shiite and were made to suffer for centuries by the majority Turks – adding to Erdogwan’s woes.

As to your comments about excesses on Dalits in India, you know this is more the exception than a rule. Today’s modern and secular India – the polity, the judiciary, civil society, the free press – are strikingly for a better deal to Dalits. The Dalits are an aberration to Hindus of the past. Hindu organisations like the VHP and RSS are trying to bring them back to regular society. Sadly, in very remote villages there are occasional reports of abuses to Dalits – which local authorities resist. On the other hand, in adjoining Pakistan, we learn today the Govt is allowing Hindus access to Marriage Certificates and Passports. Can you believe, in the modern world this was refused to theocratic Pakistan’s largest minority – although Jinna’s Constitution guaranteed equal rights to Pak Hindus in 1947.

In enquiring why there are no Tamil Buddhists today, you bring in the analogy no Sinhala Buddhist monk would try to kill a Tamil Buddhist monk. Sadly, in the nature of the world we live in, it is a fact of life Sinhala Christian and Catholic priests were known to express extreme prejudice to their Tamil counter parts during and after July ’83. But these were, admittedly, difficult times when suspicion was part of our culture. I like to believe, we have, as a Nation, overcome those difficult days and feelings of division.

I believe Buddhism in Sri Lanka declined the same time it did in South India millennia ago. Gautham Siddharth was from the Kshtriya caste – the other being the higherr Brahmin and the Vaishya and Sudhra. Reportedly, there were many excesses by the Brahmins priest caste during the days of Prince Gautham. He saw many contradictions in society in those Brahmin-centred days of rule and identified them as such during his preachings. These may have been aimed against the Brahminic class. This is probably why his preachings today are seen by many as reformist, if not iconoclastic. But history would have it Brahminism, far widely spread throughout India, survived and apparently found greater acceptance to the varied communities and people of that vast Sun-Continent. Consequently, the influence of what came to be known as Buddhism declined in India – including the nearby present Tamilnadu, where, it must be noted, it was never the majority form of worship.

There indeed are still a few Tamil Buddhists in the island – specifically in Jaffna. There is also, I believe, at least one organisation under that name. Not only Buddhaghosha but Monk Mahanama, said to have authored the Mahawansa, are both Tamil Buddhists.

I am afraid I am unable to subscribe to your mis- conclusion “Likewise Tamils in the North and East are troubled about the discovery of Buddhist sites because they do not want to acknowledge the reality that their ancestors had been Buddhists or Jainists in the past” Tamils have no qualms about Buddhist influence in Tamil areas in the millennia gone by or to admit today thre were some of them following the Buddhist religion. After all, Tamls are proud of their classics “Manimegalai” and “Silappathikaram” Incidentally, it is the Sinhalese extremists – men like Champika Ranawaka, the Sihala Urumaya – actively changing historic and archeological/anthropological evidence of Tamil presence in the Anuradhapura/Polonnaruwa areas – rich with Tamil heritage.

If you have a chance to meet with the learned Prof. Pathmanathan, Prof. Sandirasegaran they might enlighten you more in the subject. Prof. V. Suriyarayan, formerly of the Madras University carries much material that may be of interest to you.
Perhaps former Civil Servant Sivathasan, Dr. Narendran – who writes in these columns, may be able to play a part. Mrs. Sivanandani Duraiswamy of the All Ceylon Hindu Association might be of assistance. Then there are those two fine great sons of Sri Lankan learning Dr. Shiran Derinayagala and
Dr. Sudharshan Seneviratne, who might provide valuable material in the subject for those looking for unbiased historical accuracy.

Thanks and regards. Will be pleased to continue the discussion.

You frequently hear about the Dalits converting from Hinduism to Buddhism, and Christianity. The Question is Why? Why does it not go the other way around?

80,000 Dalits rejected Hinduism & converted to Buddhism in Gujarat India.

Why? What is the Problem with Hinduism, that is not there in Buddhism?

          Tamil Buddhism in Sri Lanka?

Amarasiri always want to know why? However, will not always get the answers. However, the Internet especially Google, Facebook, and Twitter and U tube has reduced the Research time tremendously, but need to watch out for errors. Does Amarasiri’s study of Philosophy, Natural sciences, Religions, Buddhism, Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Zoroastrianism, Zeus-ism, etc. make him a believer in those subjects or religions?

Getting on to the Land of Native Veddah Aethho, and the ethnic conflict between the Sinhala “Buddhists” and Tamil “Hindus”, the “unanswered’ question is why hardly any Tamil Buddhists in Lanka? Had there been a significant number of Tami Buddhists, the Sinhala “Buddhists” would have mellowed, and the conflicts we had may likely would not have boiled over. It is difficult to imagine a Sinhala “Buddhist” monk trying to kill a Tamil ‘Buddhist” or Tamil “Buddhist” Monk.

What are your thoughts on that? Do you think the priests and the Caste system had a role here?

After all, Buddhaghosa, was a Tamil Monk.

They are unwilling or unable to accept that Tamils too were Buddhists in a by gone era. In Sri Lanka any members of the majority community think Buddhism is exclusively “of, for and by” the Sinhalese

Likewise Tamils in the North and East are troubled about the discovery of Buddhist sites because they do not want to acknowledge the reality that their ancestors had been Buddhists or Jainists in the past. In fact of the five great literary epics (Aimperum Kaappiyangal) three are Buddhist (Boutham) related and two Jainist(Samanam)

Amarasiri – I must bring some facts about Kettikaran to your notice. About a couple of years ago there were concerted attacks against me by a group of Tamils.Every article by me was attacked as third rate or tenth rate, and that went on week after week and month after month. That was an attempt to stop me being published. That failed and the attacks stopped. But individual Tamil racists kept on spewing forth their terrible anti-Muslim hatred. Among the worst of them has been Kettikaran.
His tactic has been to lie about what I write or find fault with petty details. He insults at every opportunity. He thinks that the well-known distinction between this-worldly and other-worldly religions is my “coinage”. He declares me a “notorious anti-Tamil”, shown again by my not mentioning Hinduism as a this-worldly religion. The explanation is a very simple one, which he of course will never accept. Had I written an article on comparative religion and failed to mention Hinduism, the omission could have implied some degree of prejudice. But it sufficed for the purposes of my article to draw the contrasts between just three religions. I am making this clarification and I sometimes respond to Kettie because I am gathering material for a further article on Tamil Islamophobia, a matter of importance in the context of developments in the Eastern Province.
Hey Kettie boy – Amarasiri is definitely not a Muslim. He has vast erudition at his fingertips and writes approvingly of my articles. Admit it, Kettie boy – that upsets you. Where are the other Islamophobes these days? Looks like you are getting isolated. – IH

I wish to draw the attention of the scholarly and urbane Amarasiri to one more acerbic rant by the degenerating Izeth H as he explodes “His tactic has been to lie about what I write…”
My criticism was not on him personally but of the inflammatory anti-Tamil suggestions. You may have noticed Izeth goes bonkers when he sees my name – and, particularly when I contradict his regular unwelcome codswallop.

As a regular visitor to these pages, you know that Izeth argued with me for years when I took him on for suggesting in the “Island” to effect “Tamils in the conflict areas should be starved of food to break the backbone of the armed rebellion of some Tamil youth” This suggestion can come only from a very wicked and sick mind with deep prejudice against Tamils – not one claiming to be a peace-centred, healthy, politico-social analyst. With the intervention of another serious reader, I was able to produce evidence that Izeth is an inveterate liar. He was ridiculed and shamed publicly as a consequence. Clearly, he holds this against me – but that, Sir, bothers me in no way.

Amarasiri, as a decent and liberal intellectual, you suggest
“Would appreciate very much if you can help him (IZ) focus on his goal…” Good Sir, this is up to him. If he continues to denigrate Tamils, Hinduism (like that instant he unnecessarily insulted Swami Vivekananda recently) he will be in that situation where they say if you sow the wind you should expect the whirlwind.

          Thanks and regards

Kettikaran – I have long suspected that you are a masochist. You are clearly asking me to punish you. As I am essentially of a kindly disposition, I shall do so. You refer to Amarasiri as “scholarly and urbane” and as “a decent and liberal intellectual”. I agree. How then do you explain the following stark hard facts? I have been writing articles for over a quarter century, on which I have drawn a great many positive responses. Among the most positive have been those of Amarasiri. Furthermore he sees me as engaged in work of national importance in taking on the Wahabis. How you feelin’ Kettie boy? Foaming at the mouth?
You say that I unnecessarily insulted Swami Vivekenanda. You chose to ignore the fact that I was reacting to a statement by Vivekananda that was extremely insulting towards Islam.Your position therefore is that when Islam is attacked, Muslims should not respond appropriately. In my next article on Tamil Islamophobia I will be making the point that Tamil raicsts like you want nothing less than the Sakkilisation of the Muslims. The Sakkili cooolie of yore was not expected to respond when insulted and abused by any one of a higher caste. I will be citing more details to substantiate that charge.
You repeat the big lie about my advocating starvation as the instrument to defeat the Tamil rebellion.Anyone can get to Google and click on “Izeth Hussain’s reply to K.Arvind 2006”.He will find that I have unambiguously argued against the use of starvation as a weapon of war. Kettie knows that but he keeps on repeating his big lie. Why? I can think of only one cogent explanation. He has been dehumanized by his Islamophobia to such an extent that he has no moral scruples at all when it comes to Muslims. I make the following statement, not as abuse, but as a statement of sober fact: When Kettikaran attacks IH he has no more moral scruples than has the rat, the pig, and the snake. – IH

Amarasiri respects your mutual disagreements and disputes, but considers those to be distractions. Given below is a clip from the movie, Gandhi, where Gandhi tells the English, it is time you left.

Amarasiri, has to tell you two the same. You two are distracted, and Amarasiri is concerned that Izeth is losing focus on the Intellectual dispute with Wahhabies and the Clones. Izeth, can you find another writer to convey the same message, about Tamil “Racism” and “Sakkilisation” of the Muslims? Are the Sri Lankan Muslim Intellectuals or writers so few, that you have to do it all yourself? Looks thee are loads and loads of Ulamas and Imams and others. Do they lack intellect? Agree, Izeth they may be not as good, but it will free you up.

Know and heard a lot about Islamopobia, but have not heard much about Tamil Islamophobia. Naturally, Satan-Iblis Following Wahhabies and their Clones ISIS etc. are adding fuel to the Islamophobia fire. So, one of the solutions, would be to get rid of the fuel, Wahhabies and their clones. It has become a global problem, a civilizational problem, created by the Satan, Iblis, Devil, coming out of the Najd region of Arabia as per Hadith.

Amarasiri is very weary of the Norwegians, Israelis and the Christian Fundamentalist West. They have been meddling in Sri Lanka for quite some time. Eric Solheim disclosed to Amarasiri that the Norwegians supported LTTE and BBS.

              Kettikaran:

By any chance are you associated with any of these groups? Just curious, because there was a demonstration in Batticoloa,
in support of the Israeli atrocities in Gaza, when the rest of world was on the other side of the fence on this issue.

This is a 5 hrs. 10 min. documentary biography of Mohandas Mahatma Gandhi. All events and principles of Gandhi’s life and thought are viewed as integrated parts of his truth-intoxicated life depicting permanent and universal values.

The purpose of the film is to tell the present and the future generations “that such a man as Gandhi in flesh and blood walked upon this earth”,

                I reply to Amarasiri’s comments (Feb 17 – 4.08pm).
I do not belong to any of the groups you mention. I have friends – and am personally known – to the leading political-social figures in the country (not the current poor quality newer crop from various hateful fringe groups)

I might use this space to also comment on parts of Izeth’s usual hysterical rant (Feb 17 – 9.44 am)

Phobia is a generally understood to be a fear of someone/thing/situation. The world is are not afraid of Islam but sickened by it. It is the present controversial Islam that has to be afraid of the world – increasingly becoming tired of the more ambitious sections of which has hijacked the entire religion. Clearly, the self-claimed Izeth H has been using the word incorrectly – for years.

I find it hilarious the erratic Octogenarian almost finds fault with me for not attributing the salutary descriptions I have made about you. How infantile can one descend to? And this – a former
diplomat who represented this country in key capitals. A man who has no compunction to generously overuse language of the gutter – “rat, pig, snake” etc., The man loses control of his faculties so much I fear he might, one of these days, rupture a blood vessel.

That unprovoked he uses the unfortunate words “tambiya” “sakkili” on his own community is sufficient enough for influential sources in the Muslim community to step in and restrain this man of suspect behaviour from inflicting further damage.

I also feel another thing that bothers Hussain is the fact he may suffer in the belief he is not sufficiently Muslim in a community in which he may feel he has some exalted place. It is learnt he is married to a Sinhalese/Burgher and has issues therefrom. His excesses, therefore, to hurl insult and abuse on other communities may be an effort to overdo the regular Muslims to establish he is a Muslim super-patriot. Such were the shortcomings of the Austrian Adolf Hitler that ruined Germany, Keralite-Indian Mahathir Mohamed of Malaysia and our own KMP Rajaratne, ex-MP – a Sinhala nationalist firebrand of his time – of Indian-Konar extraction. I must confess it gives me no delight in referring to Hussain’s family.

Thanks for your reply. Did you see the Clip on Gandhi and the 5 hour long movie. I am very impressed with the way he weaved through the difficult situation in South Africa and in Colonial India.

Generally, Amarasiri abhors ad hominems, as they are distractions from the issues at hand. However, did your parents teach you that you need to respects elders? Do you still want to distract IH?

Amarsasiri, is focused on the the Intellectual-Theological dispute with the Satan-Iblis following Wahhabies and their clones, to expose them for what they are. Amarasiri is of opinion that the Muslims have a severe dearth of Intellectuals who can take on these low grade Wahhabi Ulamas. It is rather unfortunate not many are in Sri Lanka. May be they need to be recruited from elsewhere in this internet age.

The Theological and intellectual case for the non-Wahhabi Muslims against the Wahhabies and their clones is very strong. You should have noticed that from the reluctance of the Wahhabies and their clones, to take on Izath Hussein, Amrasiri or other’s arguments.

There is data showing that Wahhabism in Saudi Arabia has decreased the critical thinking skills and analytical ability of Saudi graduates who took the GMAT examinations, average score 311.

The Corollary of this data is quite interesting. Is Wahhabism attracting mostly the least intelligent members of the Muslim societies?
Turkey is 559, Iran 520, Morocco, 509 and Indonesia 505. They have less than 1% Wahhabies.

Kettikaran/Amarasiri – Kettie boy is being evasive in his reply of February 17 at 8.50 pm. He accuses me of using the language of the gutter unbefitting a former diplomat. In fact I was being soberly factual. For years he accused me of advocating famine as a weapon to subdue the Tamil rebels. I produced the data to show that I had without the slightest ambiguity advocated the very opposite. He has surprisingly revived the charge and I have cited the relevant data again- click on “Izeth Hussain’s reply to K.Arvind – 20006”. What is one to think of such a bare-faced liar who attributes to his target views that are the very opposite of what he had expressed. It is reasonable to think that he has no moral scruples at all when he attacks me. Why? It is reasonable to think that he has been dehumanised by his terrible Islamophobic hatred. It is reasonable to say that when he attacks me he has no more moral scruples than has the rat, the pig, and the snake. That is sober fact. That in your case Kettie boy is the language of reason, not of the gutter. – IH

Kettikaran/ Amarasiri – this is in continuance of my reply to Kettie’s of February 17 – He says that I applied the term Sakkili to my own community. That’s typical of his ethnolunacy when he attacks me. What I wrote was that Tamil Islamophobes want to reduce the Muslims to the level of the Sakkilis. On an earlier occasion I quoted Somerset Maugham as having said that under the Nazi occupation the French would have to “eat shit”. He took that as meaning that I was comparing the Tamils to shit. His ethnolunacy is limitless. The poor fellow is now reduced to attacking me on the ground of my cross-ethnic marriage.
I am not in the least surprised that Amarasiri wrote that he was weary of the Norwegians, the Israelis, and the Western Christian fundamentalists and asked whether Kettie is associated with any of them. The obvious rationale of that question is that Kettie’s Islamophobia stands out a mile and stinks a mile.
Amarasiri – some time ago Kettie wrote quite explicitly that he was reading me against his wishes. I suspect that he was acting as the agent of the Zionists. Thereafter he stopped attacking me but he has started again. Why? May be the reason is that I have taken on the Wahabis and the Zionists don’t want that.Anyway I am gathering material for further articles on Tamil Islamophobia and racism in general. I usually respond to him only briefly and only when I have the time. Appeals to him to stop distracting me won’t help. He is quite mad. The best way is to ridicule him and I enjoy doing that – IH

“And this notorious anti-Tamil, once again, betrays his prejudice of Tamils and Hindus by excluding Hinduism from a list of what he calls This-Worldly religions, one more coinage of the controversial “scholar” “

You should compare Maveeran Velupillai Prabakaran’s anti-Muslim ethnic clensing to that of the God of the Old Tresameant, and claim that Velupillai Prabakaran is just a mere boy, “podian’, when it comers to these matters. This could be a decent Tamil Apologetic approach, the Christians and Jews may not like it.

        Amarasiri,

If VP was alive today the Muslims would not have taken over the Eastern Province Council. He knew of the trickery and machinations of Muslims – their long-term engineered population explosion, Foreign-imposed Wahabism and many other conspiracies. He was ahead of his time and that is probably why the Kattankudy Mosque issue was used as a lesson. But let me say, no Tamil celebrates the killing of innocents at prayer. It was War then. Surely, a time will come soon when plundered Tamil homes, land and villages in the EP will be restored and society will be created where Tamils and Muslims will live in peace side by side – as in the pre-1980 period.

What are your other beliefs? Do you believe that the Holy Father, the Holy Pope is infallible, as the Catholics believe? The Bible?

Is the Sun going around the Earth?. Is the Sun and the Moon going on its prescribed Orbits? Just Curious.

Joshua 10:13 ? So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies, as it is written in the Book of Jashar. The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day.

A comprehensive look at all the verse that support the sun revolving around the earth.

      Verse 2:258 .Verse 21:33 Verse 7:54 .Verse 39:5 Verse [36:40]

91:1] By the sun and its brightness.
[91:2] The moon that follows it.
      [91:3] The day that reveals.
      [91:4] The night that covers.

If the Quran was the word of a god it wouldn’t have seemed so confused to the point where it completely loses sight of the reality of the earth, moon, and sun relation. The above verses clearly show the Quran was limited to primitive archaic understandings of the sun and moon. Nothing in the verses alludes to anything that any Arabian could deduce from watching the sky back in the day. I think that about sums that up.

WHY ARE MUSLIMS DIVIDED INTO SECTS / DIFFERENT SCHOOLS OF THOUGHT?

    Question:

When all the Muslim follow one and the same Qur’an then why are there so many sects and different schools of thoughts among Muslims?

    Answer:

    1. Muslims Should be United

It is a fact that Muslims today, are divided amongst themselves. The tragedy is that such divisions are not endorsed by Islam at all. Islam believes in fostering unity amongst its followers.

    The Glorious Qur’an says:

    “And hold fast,
    All together, by the rope
Which Allah (stretches out for you),
and be not divided among yourselves;” [Al-Qur’an 3:103]

Which is the rope of Allah that is being referred to in this verse? It is the Glorious Qur’an. The Glorious Qur’an is the rope of Allah which all Muslims should hold fast together. There is double emphasis in this verse. Besides saying ‘hold fast all together’ it also says, ‘be not divided’.

    Qur’an further says,

“Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger” [Al-Qur’an 4:59]

All the Muslim should follow the Qur’an and authentic Ahadith and be not divided among themselves.

    2. It is Prohibited to make sects and divisions in Islam

    The Glorious Qur’an says:

    “As for those who divide
    Their religion and break up
    Into sects, thou hast
No part in them in the least:
    Their affair is with Allah:
    He will in the end
    Tell them the truth
Of all that they did.” [Al-Qur’an 6:159]

In this verse Allah (swt) says that one should disassociate oneself from those who divide their religion and break it up into sects.

But when one asks a Muslim, “who are you?”, the common answer is either ‘I am a Sunni, or ‘I am a Shia’. Some call themselves Hanafi, or Shafi or Maliki or Humbali. Some say ‘I am a Deobandi’, while some others say ‘I am a Barelvi’.

    3. Our Prophet was a Muslim

One may ask such Muslims, “Who was our beloved prophet (pbuh)? Was he a Hanafi or a Shafi, or a Humbali or a Maliki?” No! He was a Muslim, like all the other prophets and messengers of Allah before him.

It is mentioned in chapter 3 verse 52 of Al-Qur’an that Jesus (pbuh) was a Muslim.

Further, in chapter 3 verse 67, Al-Qur’an says that Ibrahim (pbuh) was not a Jew or a Christian but was a Muslim.

    4. Qur’an says call yourselves Muslim

    a. If anyone poses a Muslim the question who are you, he should say “I am a MUSLIM, not a Hanafi or a Shafi”. Surah Fussilat chapter 41 verse 33 says
    “Who is better in speech
    Than one who calls (men)
    To Allah, works righteousness,
And says, ‘I am of those
Who bow in Islam (Muslim)?’ ” [Al-Qur’an 41:33]

The Qur’an says “Say I am of those who bow in Islam”. In other words, say, “I am a Muslim”.

    b. The Prophet (pbuh) dictated letters to non-Muslim kings and rulers inviting them to accept Islam. In these letters he mentioned the verse of the Qur’an from Surah Ali Imran chapter 3 verse 64:
    Say ye: “Bear witness
    That we (at least)
    Are Muslims (bowing
    To Allah’s Will).” [Al-Qur’an 3:64]

    5. Respect all the Great Scholars of Islam

We must respect all the great scholars of Islam, including the four Imaams, Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam Shafi, Imam Humbal and Imam Malik (may Allah be pleased with them all). They were great scholars and may Allah reward them for their research and hardwork. One can have no objection if someone agrees with the views and research of Imam Abu Hanifa or Imam Shafi, etc. But when posed a question, ‘who are you?’, the reply should only be ‘I am a Muslim’.

Some may argue by quoting the hadith of our beloved Prophet from Sunan Abu Dawood Hadith No. 4579. In this hadith the prophet (pbuh) is reported to have said, “My community will be split up into seventy-three sects.”

This hadith reports that the prophet predicted the emergence of seventy-three sects. He did not say that Muslims should be active in dividing themselves into sects. The Glorious Qur’an commands us not to create sects. Those who follow the teachings of the Qur’an and Sahih Hadith, and do not create sects are the people who are on the true path.

According to Tirmidhi Hadith No. 171, the prophet (pbuh) is reported to have said, “My Ummah will be fragmented into seventy-three sects, and all of them will be in Hell fire except one sect.” The companions asked Allah’s messenger which group that would be. Where upon he replied, “It is the one to which I and my companions belong.”

The Glorious Qur’an mentions in several verses, “Obey Allah and obey His Messenger”. A true Muslim should only follow the Glorious Qur’an and the Sahih Hadith. He can agree with the views of any scholar as long as they conform to the teachings of the Qur’an and Sahih Hadith. If such views go against the Word of Allah, or the Sunnah of His Prophet, then they carry no weight, regardless of how learned the scholar might be.

If only all Muslims read the Qur’an with understanding and adhere to Sahih Hadith, Inshallah most of these differences would be solved and we could be one united Muslim Ummah

      Hadith of Najd

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hadith_of_Najd

According to two narrations in Sahih Bukhari, Muhammad asks Allah to bless the areas of Bilad al-Sham (Syria) and Yemen. When his companions said “Our Najd as well,” he replied: “There will appear earthquakes and afflictions, and from there will come out the side of the head (e.g. horns) of Satan.” In a similar narration, Muhammad again asked Allah to bless the areas Medina, Mecca, Sham, and Yemen and, when asked specifically to bless Najd, repeated similar comments about there being earthquakes, trials, tribulations, and the horns of Satan.

“Shortly before she was killed by the IS (Islamic State), Ruqia Hassan, a young Syrian woman wrote the following lines on her facebook page. “The only thing the secular man remembers from the Qur’an is that the God is the most merciful, and everything comes from that… The only thing the extreme Islamists memorise is one verse – to be tough with infidels and merciful to believers – but to the extreme Islamists, everyone is an infidel, whether Muslim or not.”[iv] Ms. Hassan knew that difference first hand. She was one of a handful of residents in Raqqa who dared to criticise the monstrosities committed by the IS.”

      Answers:

      1. Stop Following Wahhabi’s and their Clones, Salafies, Najdies, Deobandis, Tauhidis. The Muslims were doing generally fine before the Iblisic Wahhab , Agent of Satan, appeared from Najd, Arabia.

Where is Najd – HORN of SATAN?

      Published on Dec 5, 2014
To all the doubters who still think Najd is in Iraq and not in Saudi Arabia.

You noticed in this video that I quoted from scholars, Muslim geographers such as ibn Kurdadhbah, ibn Hawqal and even ibn Taymiyyah to leave you with no doubt that Najd is an area in modern day Saudi Arabia.

HISTORICAL FACT: all the scholars who lived before the time of Muhammad ibn Abdil-Wahaab who had the title “An-Najdi” attached to their last names, in every case it was always understood that each of those scholars came from Arabia. No scholar who came from Iraq ever had the title “An-Najdi” attached to his last name.

Now my brief refutation of the claim and evidences used to suggest Najd is in IRAQ.

      Evidence #1
The hadeeth of ibn Umar reported by Abu Nu’aym in “Hiliya tul Awliya” of Abu Nu’aym al-Isfihani, 6/133. The hadeeth has two particular narrators in it’s Sanad: 1) Abdullah bin Jaami’i al-Halwaani – He is a Mujhool (unknown) narrator and 2) Tawba bin Kisaan – He is thiqa but also considered weak according to some Muhaditheen. So, due these two narrators this hadeeth is actually weak.

      Evidence #2
The hadeeth of Jabir reported in Sunnan Ibn Majah (English) Vol. 1, Book 25, Hadeeth # 2915, Dar us Salam Publishers (Riyadh Najd) Saudi Arabia]. This hadeeth contains Ibrahim bin Yazeed who is “MATROOK” “DA’EEF” “MUNKAR UL HADITH” and not to forget Imam Bukhari (rah) himself used the wording “Sakatu ‘anhu” regarding him which proves him to be a worst kind of narrator. So, this hadeeth is not authentic.

      Evidence #3
The hadeeth of ibn Umar reported in “Mu’jam al Awsat” by at-Tabaraanee. The chain contains: 1) Ali bin Sa’eed bin Basheer and 2) Ziyad bin Biyan. They both have weakness and/or are not approved. Hence a chain from them will become weak.

      Evidence #4
The hadeeth in “Musnad Ahmed” which appears to have an authentic chain. The hadeeth comes via the route of “Handhalah. In this hadeeth Ibn Numayr narrates directly from Handhalah whereas in Sahih Muslim Ibn Numayr narrates this hadeeth from Ishaq bin Suliman first and then Handhalah and this same authentic hadeeth in Sahih Muslim DOES NOT contain the word “IRAQ” but instead uses the word “EAST” (see Sahih Muslim #6942). This same Handhalah is yet again a narrator in another hadeeth chain, and this hadeeth also contains the word “EAST” (see “Akhbar al Makkah” by Al-Fakihi, hadeeth #1123). So it is proven from this same Handhalah that he actually narrated the word “EAST’. Also, this hadeeth (referring to the east) appears to be mistranslated due to the words “Ya’umul Iraq”. However, “Yushero bi Yaddihi Ya’umul Iraq” does not necessarily mean that “he showed Iraq with his hand”. The literal word by word translation could be: “pointed (yushero) with (bi) his hand (yaddihi) “LEADING TOWARDS (YA’UMUL)” Iraq. The word “Ya’umul” proves that pointing was towards a generally eastern direction and not Iraq itself. So, the possible meaning is: “LEADING TOWARDS” Iraq, not Iraq itself.

      Evidence #5
Sahih Muslim, book 41, hadeeth #6943. The fact that Muslim narrated that Salim ibn `Abd Allah ibn `Umar applied this hadeeth to the people of Iraq does not limit its meaning to them. Let’s say for example that an evil starts out with it’s roots in Najd (modern day Saudi Arabia) but then spreads to other places, like Iraq or Egypt. The ROOT cause of this evil fitnah will still remain in the territory of Najd even if this fitnah will emerge from different places. It stands proven from the Prophet (p) that no matter where this evil emerges from, it will still be condemned. However, the hadeeth seems to imply that the people of Iraq were simply being warned of the “Horn of Satan” that would emerge in Najd (modern day Saudi Arabia), so that they would also not fall into this evil. Allah knows best.

Marwan – Why are Muslims divided into sects etc? But so are the adherents of every other religion.I suppose that the underlying reason is that – as some wise man put it – “Human beings are contentious little beasts”. Anyway we must note that we Muslims have not been half as ferocious as the Christians in dealing with dissentient sects. On the whole we Muslims can be proud of our record of tolerance. But that does not apply to the Wahabis. They want to put to the sword not only non-Muslims but also Muslims who don’t abide by Wahabi tenets. If you really feel deeply about Muslim unity, as you seem to do, you must think of contributing to the orthodox critique of Wahab and Wahabism – IH

In the outrageous comment “On the whole we Muslims can be proud of our record of tolerance….. we must note that we Muslims have not been half as ferocious as the Christians in dealing with dissentient sects.” Izeth Hussain takes readers to be fools. In Iraq, in Syria, In Yemen, in Pakistan Sunnis are chopping the necks of even little children, leave aside adults, in their extreme parochial hatred of other Muslims.

In Ireland – where the Catholic-Protestant divisions went down to bestial levels earlier, they never went down to the medieval levels of Islamists in their contested regions/communities. Wahabism is not the only reason of this Islamic savagery that was present before and after Wahabism. Little wonder, political and civic leaders in Europe openly claim “Islam is not a religion – but a disturbed mental condition”???

Kettie boy – must you keep on inviting ridicule? Only an ignoramus in the field of history will deny that Christians have a much more horrible record than Muslims in branding dissenting sects as heresies and persecuting them.Only an ignoramus and an utter fool will think of Islam as not a religion but a disturbed mental condition, ignoring the mighty civilizational achievements which Islam inspired – of which of course you are unaware. – IH

Interesting comment, but there seem to be differences of opinion, as to who the winners are in this Competition.

However, Wahhabism and its clones are the problem, today, not the Mongols or the Nazis.

Luther and the Protestant Reformation: Crash Course World History #218

In which John Green teaches you about the Protestant Reformation. Prior to the Protestant Reformation, pretty much everyone in Europe was a Roman Catholic. Not to get all great man, but Martin Luther changed all that. Martin Luther didn’t like the corruption he saw in the church, especially the sale of indulgences, so he left the church and started his own. And it caught on! And it really did kind of change the world. The changes increased literacy and education, and some even say the Protestant Reformation was the beginning of Capitalism in Europe.

Islam and Politics: Crash Course World History 216

In which John Green teaches you about how Islam has interacted with politics during it’s history, and how it continues to do so today. Islamist movements are in the news a lot lately, but how did that happen. John will point out that Islam has always been tied to political movements. Mohammed was not only a religious leader, he led an empire. So how did this lead to modern movements like ISIS? Islam has traditionally been a pretty egalitarian religion, and its scriptures value peace, so it is surprising in a lot of ways that such a violent fundamentalist movement would come out of it. What is a caliphate? What is a Caliph? John will teach you all about it. Take it easy in the comments, y’all. Be kind and respectful to each other.

The religion that’s followed by 1.7 billion people and people still dare call it a terrorist religion just because of a few thousand idiots, called Wahhabies and their Clones, who call themselves ISIS and say they’re Muslims. ISIS or its clones doesn’t represent Islam. Striped of its fundamentalism and Wahhabism, Islam is generally peaceful beautiful religion, until the advent of Wahhabism. True, there have been imperialist expansion wars. Everybody did that. Does it make sense to you that 1.7 billion people follow a terrorist religion? The media’s hate towards Islam who only make it stronger and grow and soon will be the number #1 most followed religion, because of the media marketing and exposure.

Now the so-called, Wahhabies and their clones, call other Muslims, non-Muslims and grave worshipers and idol worshipers, and kill them, when they themselves practice pre-Islamic Idol Worshiping traditions. They are also trying to impose Wahhabi Arabian Cultural Values, as a pre-requisite to being a Muslim.

Muslims Fail to Prove Islam is a Religion of Peace in Debate

they fail miserably, and that”s not just my bias, that’s how the audience actually felt. The only thing Zeba and Maajid proved was that they wish and hope that Islam will become a religion of peace.

Note: The only parts cut from the debate were the long introduction before the moderator first starts speaking and instances where the moderator repeated the name of the debate and all the debaters, which he did several times. You will see a cut at about 52 minutes in where Maajid is just finishing a sentence. Nothing that he said was cut. After he says “camp” the video cut to the audience and the moderator started announcing the debate information again.

Otherwise, even the questions and answers have been left in at the end.

“That contribution will not be possible if Wahabism comes to prevail as the Islamic norm instead of being the aberrant and abhorrent cult that it is at present. That would mean that every Muslim society accepts stoning to death as punishment for adultery because Sheikh Wahab sanctioned that. Wahhabism is not Islam. Wahhabism, Salafism, and its Clones follow Satan, Iblis, as per Hadith of Najad, and other references.

In addition, the Wahhabis “Islamic” Education decreases the intelligence, thinking ability and critical skills of students, after they graduate from High School, College or University.

Data in support of the above for Saudi Arabia, that has 35% Wahhabies, and has a Wahhabi “Islamic” Education us given below. Look for All the Comments by Amarasiri.

Countries with the highest (and lowest) average GMAT scores

Last year, the GMAT was administered in over 180 countries. The Graduate Management Admissions Committee has carefully recorded the number of people that have taken the GMAT in each country, as well as the mean score for test-takers in that country.

      http://blog.prep4gmat.com/countries-with-the-highest-and-lowest-average-gmat-scores/

In the 2012-2013 testing year, the GMAC administered over 90,000 tests in the United States. China took second place with 53,000 and India was in a distant third with 25,000.

The 10 highest mean GMAT scores:
      1. New Zealand (608)
      2. Singapore (605)
      3. Argentina (591) (tie)
      3. Belgium (591) (tie)
      5. United Kingdom (590) (tie)
      5. Australia (590) (tie)
      5. Austria (590) (tie)
      8. Uruguay (587) 9. China (582)
      10. South Korea (581)

Note that only New Zealand and Singapore had scores above 600. Meanwhile, the U.S. was ranked 53rd with an average score of 532.

The top ten is relatively well distributed geographically, with 3 Asian countries, 2 South American countries, 3 European countries, and 2 Oceanic countries.

The highest scoring African country was Morocco, with 505. In North America, Canada took the top spot with a score of 565.

Notice that the majority of the top countries are dominated by a language other than English.

      The 10 lowest GMAT scores:

      1. Afghanistan (307)

      2. Saudi Arabia (311)
      3. Democratic Republic of the Congo (312)
      4. Liberia (314)
      5. Cambodia (338)
      6. Sierra Leone (341)
      7. Kuwait (344)
      8. Namibia (347)
      9. Antigua and Barbuda (353)
      10. Mauritania (354)

Of course, of among the bottom 10 countries, only two (Saudi Arabia and Kuwait) has more than 100 students taking the GMAT every year. Though Afghanistan had the dubious honor of the lowest mean score for the 2012-2013 testing year, the mean GMAT score for Afghanistan in 2011-2012 was 382.

Of the other Countries in Between Australia 590 China 582 India 577 Canada 565 Russia 553 Turkey 550 Japan 542 US 532 Iran, Islamic Republic 520 Indonesia 509 Sri Lanka 477 Ageria 471 Egypt 463 Madagaskar 468 Sudan 435 Ethiopia 427 Nigeria 418

Saudi Arabia 311 See What Iblis, Satan Following Wahhabism does to its Citizens. It makes them stupid, Saudi Arabia’s Wahhabi Population is 25%

Of course, when it’s your turn to take the GMAT, your preparation will matter far more than your passport.

This is not an Islam Issue. This is a Wahhabi Education Issue.

It is not Saudis as such. It is the Wahhabism, that has misled the Saudis and its people. with 25%, Wahhabies and clones, and produce graduates whose GMAT scores are 311.

Now Compare the other Islamic Countries with almost 99% Muslims, and 0% Wahhabies and their clones.

      COUNTRY GMAT SCORE % Wahhabies

      Saudi Arabia 311 25% (99% Muslim)

      Turkey 550 0% or <1% (99% Muslim)

      Iran, Islamic Republic 520 0% or <1% (99% Muslim)

      Indonesia 509 0% or <1% (90% Muslim)

      Morrocco 505 0% or <1% (99% Muslim)

      Sri Lanka 477 0% or <1% (9% Muslim)

Why does Wahhabism affect critical thinking skills?

Because the students are brainwashed to memorize the Quran and Hadith all day long with very little room for other subjects including critical thinking and other skills. So, the Wahhabi graduates are "Educated" but lacking critical thinking skills, as indicated by the GMAT scores.

      What does GMAT exam measure?

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graduate_Management_Admission_Test

The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT (/ˈdʒiːmæt/ (jee-mat))) is a computer adaptive test (CAT) intended to assess certain analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in written English for use in admission to a graduate management program, such as an MBA.

The GMAT does not measure business knowledge or skill, nor does it measure intelligence. According to the test owning company, the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), the GMAT assesses analytical writing and problem-solving abilities, while also addressing data sufficiency, logic, and critical reasoning skills that it believes to be vital to real-world business and management success. On June 5, 2012, GMAC introduced an integrated reasoning section to the exam that is designed to measure a test taker’s ability to evaluate data presented in new formats and multiple sources.

GMAT is a registered trademark of the Graduate Management Admission Council. More than 5,900 programs offered by more than 2,100 universities and institutions use the GMAT exam as part of the selection criteria for their programs. Business schools use the test as a criterion for admission into a wide range of graduate management programs, including MBA, Master of Accountancy, and Master of Finance programs. The GMAT exam is administered in standardized test centers in 112 countries around the world. According to a survey conducted by Kaplan Test Prep, the GMAT is still the number one choice for MBA aspirants despite the increasing acceptability of GRE scores. According to GMAC, it has continually performed validity studies to statistically verify that the exam predicts success in business school programs.

“…..he cites the fact that he saw with his own eyes an ex-Minister prostrate himself before the saint’s tomb at Devatagaha mosque. Obviously he cannot understand the simple distinction between veneration and worship.
Whether the minister worshipped or venerated is only known to the Minister. However the vast majority of the Saint worshipping ilk do so asking for favors and expecting the Saints intervention to achieve them. Veneration behoves showing respect and in the Buddhist perspective includes prostration e.g. Children prostrating before their parents, Ministers and other higher ups prostrating before the high priests etc. However in Islam Muslims are prohibited from showing this type of veneration to the living; how much worse one could imagine doing so for the dead. IH should cast his mind to the story of Abraham. Why did he rebel against his father the idol maker? Surely according to his theory Abraham should have encouraged his father in his trade, not oppose him, عوذ بالله

Let them bear, on the Day of Judgment, their own burdens in full, and also (something) of the burdens of those without knowledge, whom they misled. Alas, how grievous the burdens they will bear! 16:25

Perhaps in your hurry to cut and paste replies to the myriad other participant threads, you lacked the time to devote to this one. Any way my remarks was directed to IH who should better comprehend what I wrote. As for the the extraneous questions you ask, some of which display your abysmal ignorance or tainted bias towards the teachings of that noble Scholar, Sheik Muhammed, I deem it not necessary to answer you. The reason being that YOU are firmly in the grip of SATAN, IBLIS and act as his proxy. In support you have come in as a Trojan horse within the Muslim fraternity to cite and quote the opinions of malicious critics of Sheik Muhammad (and their are many even to this day) and pronounce them as gospel truth. It has been your wont to bulldoze and trash any contrary opinion by deluging this forum with spurious KOHADA YANNE MALLE POL non relevant material. This might impress some, others might be bored and not read through, and the rest should trash it where it rightfully belongs. Any way if you still need to learn about Haj and Umrah refer a text book or contact a learned scholar. Please don’t disturb IH on this one,

The Holy Quran, the Hadith and the Scholars are clear. Wahhabies and their clones are followers of Iblis, Satan. They are using Tawhid, as a camouflage, when Muslims already knew and know about Surah 114, Al-Iklas.

          1. “The reason being that YOU are firmly in the grip of SATAN, IBLIS and act as his proxy.”

          2. “Muslim fraternity to cite and quote the opinions of malicious critics of Sheik Muhammad (and their are many even to this day) and pronounce them as gospel truth.”

What Prophet Mohamed, PBUH, said on the Hadith of Najd, and the learned Cleric from Al Azhar, said need to be taken as closer to the truth, NOT, what “Sheik” Abdul Wahhab said 200 years ago or what Ibn Taymiah said 700 years ago. There were Muslims, BEFORE, the above Iblis, Satan infected “Sheiks” started misleading the Muslims.

Amarasiri has clearly articulated that “Sheik” Abdul Wahhab has gone against the Teachings of the Holy Quran, and has given his own interpretation, the interpretation of Iblis, in his writings, and even stoned a women, against the Quran. Only Satan and followers of Satan will do that.

Why cannot you specifically answer each point, instead of making general comments. Ask any of your so-called Wahhabi Ulama, anywhere in the World for answers.

Examples are killing of Shia Muslims, Sufi Muslims, Ahmedia Muslims, Christian, Jews and other people.” What is your specific answer?

Was he copying Ibn Taymiah? Where did Ibn Taymiah get his right to kill Muslims?

          Wahhabi sack of Karbala Why?

The Wahhabies killed 5,000 Muslims on Karbala. Why?

The Wahhabi sack of Karbala occurred in 21st of April 1802 (1216 Hijri), under the rule of Abdul-Aziz bin Muhammad the second ruler of the First Saudi State, killing above 5000 of the inhabitants and plundered the tomb of Husayn ibn Ali (grandson of Muhammad and son of Ali bin Abu Talib (the cousin and son-in-law of Muhammad)) which was destroyed.

According to a Wahhabi chronicler `Uthman b. `Abdullah b. Bishr: “The Muslims” — as the Wahhabis referred to themselves, not feeling the need to distinguish themselves from other Muslims, since they did not believe them to be Muslims —

scaled the walls, entered the city … and killed the majority of its people in the markets and in their homes. [They] destroyed the dome placed over the grave of al-Husayn [and took] whatever they found inside the dome and its surroundings … the grille surrounding the tomb which was encrusted with emeralds, rubies, and other jewels … different types of property, weapons, clothing, carpets, gold, silver, precious copies of the Qur’an.

            CORRECTED: Surah 112.

              J.Deane with Translation.

CORRECTED: Surah 112. They are using Tawhid, as a camouflage, when Muslims already knew and know about Surah 112, Al-Iklas from the very beginning.

              SURAH AL-IKHLAS (112) (The Unity)

              Abdullah Yusuf Ali Translation

              Say: He is Allah, the One and Only;
              Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;
              He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;
And there is none like unto Him.

There was NO NEED for Ibn Taymiah or Abdul Wahhab’s Satanic versions. Tawhid is there, and the Muslims knew it from the very beginning. It appears thay only the Wahhabis and their clones seem not o know the Surah 112.

No wonder the GMAT scores of Saudi Wahhabi Graduates who took the exam are 312, whereas those of Turkey, 550, Iran 520 and USA 532, tells you that, the Satan Iblis Following Wahhabi wail make people less intelligent and lose theit critical thinking skills.

J.Deane – thanks for your courteous reply of February 18. I believe that I know the ex-Minister to whom you refer. He is a devout Muslim though he may have the failings characteristic of politicians. We can be certain, a hundred per cent certain, that the idea of “worshiping” the saint never crossed his mind. Do you honestly and truly believe that he could have been worshiping the saint? Come come.Asking for favors of a saint may be reprehensible but that does not amount to worship.Prostration is deplored in Islam but that too does not amount to worship. According to the dictionary “worship” is something that is reserved for the deity while veneration is for humans. We can be certain, absolutely certain, that out of more than a billion Muslims who have venerated saints since 632 AD not one, literally not even one, would have thought, even for one instant, that he was worshiping the saint. Sheikh Mohammed was profoundly mistaken at the very cor of his teaching.
I wish you would stop making the charge that Amarasiri’s erudition is limited to Wikipoedia. You surely know better. He has a vast store of erudition at his fingertips. He has made available a huge amount of material on Islam, of benefit to Muslims who need to be educated on Islam. We Muslims should be grateful to him.
A clarification in conclusion.I wrote and dispatched to the editors the third part of my article yesterday early Thursday morning. I stated that you – without mentioning your name – had not replied to the second part of my article. That was true at the time I wrote my article. Where anyway are all the other Muslim scholars? Is it that they know in their heart of hearts that the Sheikh was profoundly mistaken at the very core of his teaching? – IH

    An erudite Islamic scholar states

Knowledge is not that a person simply reads or freely reads, as some people say title it. This is not knowledge (this is not studying). Real knowledge is that the person takes it from the people of knowledge, and that they memorize, understand, and comprehend .This is the true (manner of) seeking of knowledge.

As for reading, skimming through books and reading them, this is not sufficient as studying. Even though there is some good present in it, it’s not sufficient. It’s not permissible that a person is only a student of books, as we see during our present time. Because if a person is self-taught (only reads books) then this is something which is very dangerous, this individual will bring about much evil because being self-taught is worse than the ignorant person. The individual who is ignorant he knows he’s ignorant and he stops at the limits. As for the who is self taught, this individual feels he is knowledgeable, and because of this , he makes haram which Allaah has made halal and he makes halal that which Allah has made haram. Likewise, this individual speaks about Allaah ‘Azza Wa Jal without knowledge, and this is a dangerous affair!

The Shaykh goes on to explain that knowledge is not only taken from books but, it is taken from the Ulemah. A person should not limit himself to taking from books; books are only a means. The reality of knowledge is that it’s taken from the scholars, generation after generations, but books are only a means of support and help. The true knowledge is taken from the scholars.

There is among them a section who distort the Book with their tongues: (As they read) you would think it is a part of the Book, but it is no part of the Book; and they say, “That is from Allah,” but it is not from Allah: It is they who tell a lie against Allah, and (well) they know it! 3:78

O ye who believe! Take not into your intimacy those outside your ranks: They will not fail to corrupt you. They only desire your ruin: Rank hatred has already appeared from their mouths: What their hearts conceal is far worse. We have made plain to you the Signs, if ye have wisdom.2:118

Amarasiri does not believe that the Quran has been protected by Allaah, that there are many discrepancies in it. Please answer YES or NO whether you are in agreement with this view?

“Real knowledge is that the person takes it from the people of knowledge, and that they memorize, understand, and comprehend .This is the true (manner of) seeking of knowledge.”

Yes, understand and comprehend, but no need to memorize. Einstein said that all I need to know is where the Handbook of Data is, so that I can understand and comprehend. Memorizing is a complete misuse of brain resources, and the brain cannot be used for comprehension and critical thinking and analysis. That is why the Saudi Wahhabi Graduate have very low GMAT scores compared to the others, Muslims and Non-Muslims alike.

“Amarasiri does not believe that the Quran has been protected by Allaah, that there are many discrepancies in it. Please answer YES or NO whether you are in agreement with this view?”

When was the Quran Written? During which Period? Caliph Malik? Do you have the Data as Support?

      1. You can make Amarasiri believe in a lot of things, provided, there is good support and good reason to believe in it. Usually in Science, the scientific method is used, before somebody accepts a Hypothesis or Theory. Amarasiri has come across many Christians, but they could not prove that what is in the Bible was the Word of God, and not that of Man. An example is that of Joshua (Joshua 10:13) stopping the Sun for 24 hrs, and the Heliocentric Model of Copernicus, Galileo, Kepler, Newton and Foucault. If Amarasiri lived before Copernicus, Amarasiri would have believed the Church and Joshua, because the Sun rises from the East and sets n the West.

Read about the Age of Reason and Enlightenment.
Read about Hamid Al-Ghazali and Averroes, arguments, Incoherence of the Philosophers, and Incoherence of the Incoherence.

      2. However, with the Data, Observations and Reason, is is hard to believe in Joshua and this Bible Verse. It does not mean that the other Verses in the Bible are incorrect, because each verse must be proven incorrect.

      3. Amarasiri does not want to use the Theory of Induction to show that, because, this Bible Verse is not true, therefore all the other verse are not true as well. The Example Amarasiri would use is for the Philosopher Aristotle, who who got 1 correct out of 4,(The Earth is a Sphere) with very limited information in 300 BC, but was not far off in his errors, because he used good reason.

      4. Amarasiri reasons that the Quran has fewer errors than the Hadith, due to its early presence. Was the Quran Created or Uncreated, is a different discussion. Shiah Buhari Collected over 200,000 Hadith and threw out mote than 95% due to authenticity. Did the incorrect Hadith get in?

      5. Assuming the Hadith is correct, the Hadith of Najd, is prescience from Prophet Mohamed, PBUH, in predicting “Shaikh” Abdul Wahhab’s appearance in the 18th Century C.E, based on the writings of Ibn Taymiah, after the Mongol Invasion. Ibn Taymiah’s argument was that Allah, SWT, was angry with Muslims, because they were not Good Muslims, ad therefore punished them using the Mongols, who later converted to Islam. This is the same argument used in the Old Testament by the Jews, whenever, there was a calamity and catastrophe, natural or man made.

      6. Amarasiri has quite good reasons to believe that both “Sheikh” Abdul Wahhab and “Shaikh” Ibn Taymiah are infected by Iblis, Satan, to Mislead the Muslims, based on their actions and behaviour. You have not answered Amarasiri’s specific Questions regarding “Sahaikh” Abdul Wahhab or “Shaikh” Ibn Taymiah, to accept or reject the above assumption.

Why not listen for 10 minutes as to the PHILOSOPHY of Baruch Spinoza, a Jewish Philosopher. Spinoza tried to replace the bible with a scientifically-based ethical system. He succeeded in theory – but not in practice.

The Iblis Following Wahhabies and Their Clones must stop harassing the Sufis, Shias, Ahmedias and others, and let them show Veneration to their “Saints”, while they accept the Quran and Surah, 112, Al-Iklas, UNLESS they have DATA to the CONTRARY. Allah SWT is not so bad, very merciful, and understands Sufis, Shias, Ahmedias, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, Zoroastrians ad others.

Q1. “Amarasiri does not believe that the Quran has been protected by Allaah,?”that there are many discrepancies in it.”

    Reason Vs. Revelation Debate.

    A. Yes. Haj and Umra, circumambulation, 7 times, hitting the Devil Pillar, running between two locations, kissing the stone, which is Idol Worship, etc. Why is that the Devil is mentioned 88 times and the Iblis 11 times in the Quran? Did the Quran anticipate the Iblis, Satan coming from the Najd, as per Hadith of Najd?

Amarasiri has not been provided with convincing evidence yet, to believe one way or the other, if Quran has been protected by Allaah. Absence of evidence does not mean that evidence may be presented at a later date. Science and Astronomy is full of such examples. Amarasiri’s training in science, philosophy, reason and logic will not accept yet, without evidence. Religion makes believers to believe, accept before the evidence is presented. It is called belief, faith.

If Jesus were to appear tomorrow and announce that he returned and everything in the New Testament is True, as preached by many Christians, and attest to every verse in the New Testament as evidence, yes, Amarasiri will have to accept the New Testament as True, and believe in it. It has not happened yet. Still waiting for the second Coming of Jesus, like everybody else.

Do you believe that man came from Adam and Eve? How many Chromosomes did they have?
