Ethnic Tamils domiciled in Tamil Nadu for millenia past have had a historic record. Tradition has it that their language and cultural heritage extended to several areas of present-day Dravidian states. This happened many centuries earlier, before the second millennium. What is relevant for the current discussion is the present, since India’s independence in 1947. The incredible transformation of Tamil Nadu from that year is stupendous. Yet what has fallen by the wayside for want of spirited leadership is far too heavy. Enemies from within did the damage. The outcome was a cataclysm on Friday April 14, 2023
Who or what were they? Corruption, nepotism and ensuing therefrom chronic money mindedness, indifference and incompetence. The whole compact in Tamil Nadu was correctly discerned by Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. As they were unravelling the tangle, there evolved an abiding nexus between the power elites at the centre and the emerging far-flung caucuses in Tamil Nadu. The latter started extending their loyalty to a single leader – Annamalai who had the intellectual resources and the verve to lead the well synchronized movement for redemption of their state.
He emerged as the main spring as early as three years ago. Even as the churning process commenced from afar in Delhi, energetic steps were initiated by the learned and experienced in the deep South. Young men were reinforced by the nascent womanhood. They were vigorously supported by the angry young Tamil youth. What they saw personally in the bye election of Erode East in early 2023 was the torrential downpour of bribes for votes. Results showed who paid the most. Prying questions arose as to where the money came from. Results also displayed the unalloyed incompetence and indifference of the state’s Election Commission for failing to take punitive action and remedial measures, notwithstanding media reports highlighting the anomalous situation.
In the years preceding, Annamalai had assumed the onerous responsibility as President of BJP in Tamil Nadu. Even as he was stepping up his learning process, he was assigned the grave responsibility to be deputy leader for the Karnataka state election scheduled for 10th May. Within a short span, he declared that BJP and not Congress will win. On the 8th of April when Modi came to Tamil Nadu, Annamalai was conspicuous by his absence. He had been instructed by Modi to proceed to Delhi and finalise the Karnataka list of candidates. True to his reputation he joined others and finished his task at high speed.
In politics as in war, all strategies are calculated to converge on victory. In unifying Germany Bismack avoided war on two fronts. First the Austro-Prussian War and after winning it, paused for a few years before launching on the Franco-Prussian War and scoring a victory in 1870. Annamalai appears to adopt the same strategy. First demolish the most hated enemy of the Tamils, the DMK in the Parliamentary election of 2024 and register a stunning victory. Then at the Legislative Assembly election of 2026, pulverize the AIADMK and wipe out the second and last electoral adversary as well.
As of now since DMK is in the forefront, firstly its sheen of fake respectability needs to be stripped off. What is most repulsive about this political formation? Corruption that is plunder lust. The next most abominable, was and prevalent to date from 1969 to now is nepotism in its most objectionable form – Dynasty build-up. Today late in the night on Tamil New Year Eve, Annamalai brought forth a Teaser to educate the Tamils, inform the Indians and enlighten the world of the exploitative prowess of this single family. All the filthy lucre flowed into a few receptacles in and around Gopalapuram, Chennai.
Quite a large number of well-educated BJP volunteers have undertaken the laborious task of studying and researching on the scandal that has been the hallmark of DMK misrule. The protracted narrative with factual accuracy and statistical reliability have been gone through by higher ups and vouching for their authenticity, they endorsed the idea of making it public.
At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the Tamil New Year dawned on April 14, 2023; Tamil Nadu was rudely awakened to unvarnished plunder by DMK in more than half a century. This was only with part disclosure. What is the scale of damage to the country and her people? A colossal Rs. 1.343,170 Trillion by the DMK leadership, the patron, progeny, kith and kin, not to mention political cohorts. In the first list are 13 with an indelible slur to their names. Who are they? Given below is their identity together with the quantum of money in question:

The amounts denote a multitude of investments in India and in several foreign countries besides financial hoards if there be any. From the returns that accrued, nothing reached the people. What an irony for a man to trumpet the communist ideal “From each according to one’s ability to each according to one’s needs”, name his son Stalin and tutor him on advancement of self and family only, while 4.89 % of the population is below the poverty line. Kerala has a poverty ratio of 0.71 which is the lowest in India. It is this grievous situation which Modi and BJP are setting out to change while Annamalai is straining to support and the DMK is bent on destroying.
Worse is scheduled for next week. Adverse publicity and indefensible exposure have laid the former rulers prostrate. They have withdrawn into the protective shell like a tortoise and are directing their darts at the accuser. The charges are precise mentioning names and specifying statistics. Why can’t those accused defend themselves in a manly manner if their hands are not soiled? After half a century of humbugging they are shivering when exposed. Now the state and the country very well understand the pre emptive scream of the DMK “MODI GO BACK”, because if Modi comes, Amit Shah was next. Sure to follow would be CBI, Enforcement Directorate and NIA. With the President of the state BJP ever active who will have even a ghost’s chance to wriggle out?
In this context, the noose will tighten with the second list of Rs.1.1 Trillion roping up a similar number of offenders. The total would amount to Rs. 2.4 Trillion which approximates 10% of the state’s GDP. Footwork is done and only the release is awaited. This may not be the end of the story. A long stretch from 1988 to 2021 calls for the fine comb to get at the haul from the alternative party. When it gets between the hammer and the anvil, the state of Tamil Nadu will be on the purificatory path. Not without reason did the Prime Minister say “Spare nobody”. “Let not a traitor live” said Mark Antony in Rome in his oration after the assassination of Julius Caesar.

Because the BJP has been in power at the center for 8 years or so, people are asking why the Center didn’t bring corruption charges if they had evidence. Even in other cases, the BJP accused other parties of corruption when there were elections, but forgot all about it when they came to power. Perhaps many of the BJP leaders know they themselves aren’t clean, or perhaps they just make allegations without enough evidence to prosecute it.
Anyway, Jayalalithaa was elected repeatedly despite many public allegations –and obvious signs –of corruption. The public might still decide that despite such corruption, from an ideological and pragmatic perspective, the DMK may still be better for them than the BJP. I wouldn’t be excited about the prospects for the BJP to win based on these allegations of corruption against the DMK.

This looks very much like a paean to the BJP, which has so far not managed to impose its pernicious Hindutva ideology on southern States. Creditably, the South has held on to secular government. The fact is that the electorate largely is better educated.

How much is it in Gujarat? 16.63 % ! I suppose , according to Mr. S’s logic, voting for the BJP will bring TN to the same level as Modi’s home state.

It is a well known fact Sivathasan is an ardent supporter of the BJP and Hindutva. The latter advocates Hindu fascism and Hindu fundamentalism. Its agenda of ‘Hindutva’ or ‘Ram Rajiya’ (‘Rama’s Realm’) aims to forge ‘One Nation (in One State), One Culture, One Religion, and One Language.’ In Lord Rama’s name, a single ‘Hindu Nation’ for the whole Indian Continent.
India must be ruled by the precepts of Arya Dharm, or Sanāt ana Dharma. Under this regime, a changeless social structure of the Four Colour Categories (Chatur Varna) will prevail. According to Varna Dharma. each person must work according to his/her birth (jāt ) or caste (j¯at i). In simple terms a washer man’s son should follow his father’s Dharma. A barber’s son should follow his father’s Dharma.
Annamalai is the current president of the Tamil Nadu BJP. Tamil Nadu OBC wing. He joined the BJP two years ago after resigning his post as an IPS officer. Very recently he bought a watch worth 2 lakhs of rupees while claiming he is a ordinary man leading an ordinary life.

Do not forget it was Karunanithi who said Kashmir should go to Pakistan and was acting against the interests of India. Even now the DMK is in favour of Pakistan in many respects. Karunanithy & his family were instrumental for the ruining of India’s economy, which cannot be denied (2G scam). Now the Indian people are happy when Nirmala Seetharaman had taken adequate measures to strengthen the Indian currency and its economy. Moreover Dr.Jaishankar has made India a significant country in the global affairs. Also remember during and prior to Vedic caste was unknown to Hinduism. It was introduced into India from outside. Varna is quite different from caste. At the moment Annamalai is doing a good job. One thing is certain. After Annamalai became the President of the BJP in Tamil Nadu, DMK’s influence has gradually shown its downfall. People in Tamil Nadu are eagerly awaiting for the BJP to capture power from the DMK which had ruined the glory of Hinduism. So why has not the BJP done anything about what is happening to illegal land grabbing in the north and east for Sinhalese colonisation, especially in the border areas, by the Sri Lankan Sinhalese state through its proxies, the occupying Sinhalese armed forces, the so-called Archaeological department which is the handmaiden of Sinhalese Buddhist racists, and other government departments, like the Mahaveli and Forestry? We cannot blame India. In Sri Lanka people speak either Sinhala or Tamil. In India there are 22 official languages and there are people who speak more than 500 languages. There are also people with many different cultures. Two-third of India are covered by sea and on the North & West, China and Pakistan are always threatening as enemies. Yet Sri Lanka entertains China at the backyard of India which also is threatening India’s sovereignty. As far as Sri Lanka Tamils are concerned they are about 1.5 million whereas Tamil Nadu is with about 78 millions of Tamils and Pondicherry is also more than Sri Lankan Tamils. Yet Modi is concerned with the rights of the Sri Lanka Tamils and kept on applying pressure on implementation the 13th Amendment. As such, it is the Tamil political leaders who should agitate to become an Independent Territory within the Indian Union in accordance with the Indian Constitution. Further, has any Tamil political leaders of their own arranged a meeting and invite Nirmala Seetharaman, Vanathy Srinivasan, Mrs.Saraswathy, Annamalai, Jaishankar to address their grievances. Have they ever agitated for an Independent Territory within the Indian Union in the event of the failure to implement of the 13th Amendment. Also please have in mind that Sri Lanka & India are members of the SAARC and also in the UN. Also have in mind when the IPKF committed atrocities against the Tamils, Dr.Jaishankar has resigned his post during that period. When the 2nd World War ended, Marshal Plan was implemented to rehabilitate all affected European countries including Germany. Likewise after the signing of the Indo-Sri Lanka Peace Accord, had the Tamil political leaders agitated to implement the 13th Amendment like the Marshal Plan. The LTTE rejected the 13th Amendment and was bent on separation. The LTTE missed the opportunity in 1987 to settle this issue because of their lack of far-sightedness. Now the issue of destruction of Hindu temples has been brought to the attention of Modi, Annamalai & Jaishankar. Let us wait and watch the develoopment.

The raising of the issue of Sanskrit is meaningless. Sanskrit and Tamil are like Lord Ganesha and Lord Muruga. Both are sons of Lord Shiva. Even Ravana has mastered both Sanskrit and Tamil, though Ravana was born in the village of Noida in Uttar Pradesh. India is a country with many languages, cultures, religions and tribes. Sorry did I ever denigrate Sanskrit anywhere? Stating the truth with regards to what is really happening is not denigrating Sanskrit. However if Tamil and Sanskrit are indeed inseparable and had a close symbiotic relationship that they really had, then why is the stepmotherly treatment given to Tamil by the Indian central government and Sanskrit only put on a pedestal? I am Brahmin and to me both Tamil and Sanskrit are sacred. Sanskrit because I am a Brahmin and Tamil because I am ethnically a Tamil. A Tamil Brahmin is very unique amongst all Indian Brahmins as he or she is heir to both of India’s ancient rich classical languages from which all modern South Asian languages originate. They also enriched most SE Asian languages. Most of the SE Asian language scripts originate from Tamil Brahmi.

Yes, I know that Saivaism is not confined to Tamil Nadu only, from my family name Sharma you should be aware of where my ancestors originated from. However, Siva and Saivaism is essentially an ancient Dravidian old Tamil form of worship from the Indus Valley civilisation, other Aryan names gods and identities were later added to the essentially ancient Tamil/Dravidian god. Just like Hrithik/Karthik to Lord Murugan. It is because of these remnants of the ancient Indus Valley civilisation and culture, that Saivaism is still flourishing in northern India, as most of the population in Northern India, especially the masses are Aryanised Dravidians or Draviaian hybrids. Even now all the maid gods in the Hindu religion are Dravidian or of Munda origin, as these have always been the gods of the masses and the Aryan gods have now been relegated to minor gods, only their rituals stand. Every time a very high Indian official or minister meets, a Sri Lankan official, including Tamil Jaishankar and Nirmala Seetharaman, they praise how close this racist Sinhalese Sri Lankan state is to India and the support provided to foster Buddhism and nothing about what is really happening and Indian delegates only visit Buddhist sites, have they even once mentioned about these ancient Saivite HIndu sites that are destroyed or in danger or visited them to show any support? Charity begins at home to me, not as Somanath or at Kasi. Kurunthoor Malai, Thirumalai, Keerimalai, and Kinnaya hot wells all affect me not distant Somanath or Kasi. I am glad that you are excited and overjoyed by these developments. You keep on being overjoyed about renovated Somanath and Kasi Siva temples, whilst I and the rest of the Eelam Tamils cry about the deliberate destruction by the Sri Lankan state of ancient Saivite Hindu sites on the island and the deliberate destruction of ancient Saivite Hindu structures and symbols of Tamil history, to create a Sinhalese only Buddhist homeland, even when the country is bankrupt.

We are also hurt upon the behaviour of some Buddhist monks and the Archeological Department. I have suspicion that the Government is giving some indirect blessings for such uncivilized behaviour. This is the very reason I wanted the Tamil political leaders to be united and agitate for an Independent Territory within the Indian Union in accordance with the Indian Constitution. They missed a great opportunity in 1987. Even now it is not too late. I have also brought to the attention of Annamalai and others about the behaviour of the Archeological Department and of some Buddhist monks. But now regarding the statue of Nagabhusani Amman at the entrance gate of Nainativu, I have some suspicion on a Sinhalese person. It was a deliberate act. But the person did not identify himself. God knows. Since the Office of the Provincial Health Service Director is at the junction where this statue was placed, why can’t the Hindus take this incident seriously. If a Statue is to be placed, it had to go through many rituals and many formalities even placing a gold plate underneath.

You assert that their philosophy and aim are a Vedic Aryan Hindu nation in the imposition of the highly Sanskritized form of Hindi, written in the Sanskrit script as the only language of India. But today the Aryan Invasion Migration theory is considered nothing more than a myth. In the religious text Vishnu Purana the word Bharat is mentioned and therefore it is of Vedic origin. Vedic sages laid down some principles of morality and ethics for mankind to abide by it. During the Vedic period art and culture developed to a great extent within the realm of Hinduism for which Maha Bharatha and Ramayana were cases in point. Moreover, in the Rig Veda, Bharatha is referred as the country of ‘Sapta Sindhu’ – the country of seven rivers. Sapta means Seven and Sindhu means rivers rivers. It should be noted that during the Vedic period, Zoroastrianism was practiced by the Parsees in Iran. In Sanskrit the sound of ‘S’ converts to ‘H’ in the Parsee language. The word Hindu found its way in the Zoroastrian’s holy book of Avesta. Hence Zoroastrians express the people across the people as Hindus. Since the Zoroastrian’s scripture Avesta mentions of Sapta Hindu, it would have given birth to the word Hindu.

TN is perhaps more corrupt than Sri Lanka, but its economy is booming while we are bankrupt. What we need then, is to find out how corruption is channeled into productive purposes in TN. To put it simply, our thieves park their money in Swiss banks. TN thieves invest in TN car factories.

now look at the percapita income on a ppp basis and see their income as per IMF 2023 you will notice that 6 of these countries are in the first 15 and 2 17th and 18th and finland 23rd.Only new zealnd seems to be lagging behind at 33 .

Wealth disparity is something that goes with full-blown Capitalism. Capitalists generally won’t invest unless they can enjoy/display their profits. When the State invests, the employees feather their own nests. That’s human nature.😩
I wish our corrupt politicians would set up outlets giving meals for 20 rupees.

Some of the freebies of Jayalalitha made sense. She paid attention to the well being of women, and provided fair-price nutritionally balanced meals (not subsidised to make a profit by resale).
The other election bribes are common to AIADMK and DMK and several others.
