From Frying Pan To The Fire: Ranil Will Make Gota Look Like A Boy Scout!

By Vishwamithra

“To be truly radical is to make hope possible rather than despair convincing” ~Raymond Williams

Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s exit from the country may have rendered a sense of temporary relief to the general populace. It may have quieted the cantankerous minds of the Aragala Karuwo. But that too might well be short-lived. A very few in the current political arena know the successor, the real Ranil Wickremesinghe.

However, a very narrow window was opened on Thursday, July 15. It was telecast on Independent Television Network (ITN); Palitha Range Bandara, the current General Secretary of the United National Party (UNP,) an ex-policeman turned politician whose reputation for raw thuggery is well documented and recorded appeared on the ITN and accused Sajith Premadasa of all people, the current Leader of the Opposition, of masterminding a plot to murder Ranil Wickremesinghe on the night of Saturday, July 9. No uglier falsehood could have been concocted and uttered in the current conditions of chaos in Sri Lanka. Without presenting a shred of credible evidence, Bandara recited what appeared on the paper he was given, most likely by Ranil Wickremesinghe himself.

It was widely reported that ‘protesters in Sri Lanka on Saturday evening entered the private residence of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in capital Colombo and set it on fire’. However, there was no proof whatsoever as to the real fellows who did this dastardly act. Whilst not retracting one word of criticism of Ranil and his UNP-gang, the writer condemns this act of setting fire to Ranil’s residence in most unequivocal fashion.

However, one would rightly assume that it’s to the advantage of the Wickremesinghes if the blame is placed on either the protesters themselves or on anyone who is associated with the Aragalaya. It’s not difficult in this instance to point the finger at Ranil Wickremesinghe himself for such a diabolical scheme.

Ranil Wickremesinghe is the ultimate master of scheming and if there is one field of skill and competence in which he has not failed, it is his uncanny ability to indulge in devilish and wicked scheming, whether political or otherwise. Entirety of his political life has been built on this delusional notion that anything could be achieved by wheeling and dealing. Having failed to project a single virtue of personal amiability, Ranil Wickremesinghe is being viewed by the public at large as a living portrait of what a likeable politician should not be. But that trait could be construed as one of his personal characters which one cannot and should not argue against. But if he tries to present his political views and enact public policy in order to overcome such personal qualities or lack thereof by undercutting all his friends and foes alike in the most reprehensible fashion, it’s another story altogether. In that context, Ranil deserves to be critiqued, criticized and ruthlessly scorned by the public.

Ranil’s first entry into Parliament was in 1977. Thanks to the historic electoral victory of the UNP in 1977, Ranil secured the Biyagama seat which was earlier held by his uncle JR Jayewardene. He was appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and later became the Minster of Youth Affairs and Employment.

‘It was alleged by the People’s Alliance (PA) government that Wickremesinghe, as Minister, was the political authority behind an illegal detention center in the Batalanda housing and industrial complex outside Colombo between 1988 and 1990 which was allegedly run by a government-backed counter-subversive unit as part of the state’s operation to put down an armed insurgency by the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP). The People’s Alliance government of President Chandrika Kumaranatunga appointed a Special Presidential Commission of Inquiry to investigate activities of Batalanda and on September 3, 1997 Wickremesinghe was summoned to testify before the commission. The Commission’s report was released on April 12, 1998. The commission was a fact-finding mission and had no judicial powers; however it recommended the government to “bring the guilty to book”. One of its findings was that “Wickremesinghe and the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Nalin Delgoda, are indirectly responsible for the maintenance of places of unlawful detention and torture chambers in houses at the Batalanda Housing Scheme”. It further stated that Wickremesinghe held “unauthorized meetings of police officers involved in counter-insurgency operations in the housing complex, and that as such, he had abused his authority”. No criminal proceedings took place thereafter (Source: Wikipedia)’. It’s unmistakably accurate and suffice it to say that Ranil’s resume is not all that rosy and complementary.

One unambiguous character flaw that Ranil time and time again exhibited is his malice and hatred towards those who exercised their own freedom of independent thinking and unprejudiced action. When the crunch time came, he never ever hesitated to resort to any and all means in order to survive the day. That trait was most vividly displayed when his leadership of the UNP was challenged by Karu Jayasuriya. He sought the assistance of Mahinda Rajapaksa, the then President, to block entry into the UNP headquarters in Pita Kotte. Ranil never forgave Karu Jayasuriya for challenging his leadership of the Party and that is precisely how the way was opened for Maithripala Sirisena to become the Presidential candidate representing the joint opposition in 2015. Ranil’s stand as leader of the UNP was ‘anyone but Karu’, and Venerable Sobitha Thero and Chandrika and the rest of leadership of the then Opposition had to submit to that utterly destructive slogan: ‘anyone but Karu’.

Ranil’s hands are not clean. Appointment of Arjuna Mahendran as Central Bank Governor and the creation of ‘Perpetual Treasuries Limited’ and the eventual ‘Bond Scam’-debacle that was mostly responsible for the fall of the Yahapalanaya government are but a few of his monumental failures as Prime Minister and the forged leadership he rendered towards the country’ fiscal and monitory policies.

Ranil loves to project himself as a shrewd manager of the country’s economy and it is an A grade farce. And that is the irony he knows too well. The Rajapaksas turned to Ranil not because of his alleged acumen for financial management of the Exchequer, but they knew in their hearts of hearts that Ranil is the only one from whom they could ask for their pound of flesh when the time comes. Quid pro quo worked in its most rudimentary fashion.

Ranil Wickremesinghe was made Prime Minister by the fleeing President Gotabaya Rajapaksa not to bring a healthy resolution of the country’s ailing economy; he was brought in to safeguard the evils that they themselves committed during the last one and half decades of the country’s life.

Now Ranil Wickremesinghe is the Acting President and most likely he would be the duly sworn in President for the remainder of Gota’s term until Presidential Elections are called. The task for the Aragala Karuwo and all patriots is formidable; in no way should they underestimate the cunning, craft and cruelty of Ranil Wickremesinghe. With all forces of the Army, Navy, Air Force and the Police answerable to him under the terms of the Constitution, Ranil would not spare, to pen the much-abused cliché, any stone unturned in order for him to survive under the cruelest of conditions.

If Ranil resorts to unleashing of force and pressure on the Aragalaya, then they, Aragala Karuwo, too must return the favor in kind and in tens of times. Ranil does not understand softness and gentility; nor does he hesitate to release venom and wrath in the most primordial fashion, way and means. A man whose breed cannot be questioned has become the very denial of good breed. A man who could not secure one single seat in Parliament, a man who lost more than twenty five elections consecutively and a man whose only strength is his own venomous psyche cannot be allowed to dictate the affairs of state for a small country like Sri Lanka.

Aragala Karuwo must keep the momentum to themselves and should that momentum be allowed to drop from the hands of hundreds of thousands of men, women and children who showed their fury, rage and intensity for the whole world to witness, the consequences for our nation would be immeasurably harmful and fatal. What Ranil expressed through the mouth of Palitha Range Bandara is ample testimony as to how he would conduct the country’s affairs and ultimately he would make Gotabaya Rajapaksa look like a boy scout. But remember, when you engage in the Aragalaya, your policy unto your opponents, politicians or their henchmen or the peacekeeping forces should be guided by the principle: ‘do not touch a hair of their heads, and do not give them a drop of water’. Non-violent and peaceful demonstration of one’s opposition to corruption and incompetence still has its ways of achieving its desired goals. You proved that point beyond any reasonable doubt by banishing Gotabaya Rajapaksa from the country.

Bond Scam’-debacle that was mostly responsible for the fall of the Yahapalanaya government are but a few of his monumental failures. Nothing so weakens a government as inflation.

Ranil made a way to Prime minister due to the Aragala Karuwo movement before Ranil supported them for his way to present position and not he is showing that he came to present position by his ability having no people vote. Ranil has no recognition like R. Premadasa a proven economic strenthner is recognized worldly for the economic developments undertaken during this period especially connected to poverty alleviation and the 200 Garment Factor housing project. When men are employed they are best contented.

Bondscam Ranil who staged the biggest financial crime in Sri Lanka in 2015 at the Central Bank, destroyed the CBSL’s integrity and opened the doors for US-based Bond Traders like Black Rock to debt trap Lanka must be arrested! He now wants to represent the people in IMF talks to Bailout the Sovereign Bond ISB Traders who funded his election campaign in 2015/16!
Bondscam Ranil is directly responsible for Sri Lanka’s Sovereign Bond Debt trap, more so than Nivard Cabraal. The US-backed soft military Dictator Wickramasinghe who became Prime Minister on May 12 in a Regime Change operation to enable colonization Lanka took power while the country was under curfew and the military on the streets on May 12. He must go NOW!

          Thank you honourable SJ,
          .
“The process began in 2007, I think. Where does RW fare there?”

.It is of paramount importance for the sensitive commenters to think about the answer to this legitimate question.

Former President repeated that BOND SCAM was introduced by MR and his Wanidbattaya Ajith Cabral in 2008.

JVP has no additional evidence to prove that RW was the architect of the bond scam
          .
If all what SRILANKEN media reported was the truth about BOND SCAM, why on earth refrained GOTA s govt not doing the due after they returned to power with a 2/3 mandate in parliament ?

Powerful JVPrs stay mum on this why ?

Thousands of unanswered questions still remain to be clarified by RAJAPKASHES…. with main stream media institutions continue away on the investigations ?

Yes He must go but there are more than half of the 225 wants him not to go. Do you know who are those more than half and who is the head of those more than half? It is only possible only when those more than half should also go. Do you think the debt trap only happened in 2015? What about the debt trap brought by Mahinda from China? Be neutral, both Ranil and Mahinda jointly took this country and both should Go.

In Politics, one has to be SHREWD and cunning. RW is a well known Fox like his uncle. He hated anyone who was trying to challenge him. He ENJOYED being the Leader of the Opposition and MR made sure that he HOLDS ON to it. He knew the
public ( Sinhala Buddhist majority ) will prefer him to RW. Tamils always voted anyone who contest against the Rajapaksas. That is why MR paid millions of US $s to VP of LTTE, in order to prevent Tamils voting in the 2005 Presidential election. RW was shrewd enough to split the Tigers. He will try to divide the Aragalaya movement as well. God save our country. I do wish for the Aragalaya to go on till the RIGHT people are at the HELM of the country

If Tamils hated Rajapaksa so bitterly, why did any not dare defy VP? Why did they not denounce VP for collecting a massive bribe, which Sripathi Sooriyarachchi threatened to expose in parliament before he ‘died’ in an accident?

The fact is whether You are telling a lie (Liar) without any evidence and whether he received a bribe or not.
If the bribe was received by VP, you should also know who paid the bribe and what is the exact amount and how they got that amount. Is it from tax payers money or is it from their own pocket? Why are hiding those facts until now after the murder of VP 13 years before?

                  SJ,
Thanks for your information but there is nothing to proof that VP got a bribe from Mahinda. You are talking about an accusation by Sripathy in Parliament about a deal between ex-MP Tiran Alles and Business partner Emil Kanthan who are very close and involved with number of frauds. You are talking about an alleged money transfer between these two in 2005 and there was case against both about Rs.200 million fraud on RADA project after Tsunami but the cases ended in 2020 and both freed. According to you source the fund was obtained from Singapore embassy that was from a donation of number of milllion dollars. Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka said: I know Emil Kanthan is not a LTTE member but he is the number 1 drug dealer.
Former President Premadasa gave LTTE millions worth of arms and ammunition during this war. Similarly, Rajapaksas spent millions worth of dollars to buy MPs. Ranil allowed millions worth of money to former Central Bank governor and spent millions to bribe Karuna. Sri Lankan politics which is charcterised with bribes and robbing the country but you are not bothered anything of that but taking personal revenge against Prabaharan.

RW cannot divide the Aragalaya even if he tries.
He is marking time,. He knows that it is a short contract arranged by a powerful force.

People’s interest in the struggle is now waning. The reason is trust in them, abuse of power. I couldn’t believe my eyes, but the protesting undergraduates behaved as violently as college freshmen. Do not behave like a mob by damaging public property. Trust me, if Rajapaksa had the decency and dignity in his public speeches, things would have worked out for a disciplined and civilized nation. In an eruopean country, if their own sons and daughter behaving vandalizing public property, they would not have chance to be scot free. Law and order should be empowered so that people start respecting the boundness to lawful life than unlawful. Europeans behave like mice in their territories, but they visit developing nations, they behave like indecent creatures. This you would notice if you go to touristic areas such as Hikkaduwa nd Negombo.

Instead their public speeches were humiliated on stage and after being treated with respect, after the so-called war victory, they unfairly glorified themselves through their fraudulent media machinery. A few unethical false monks including Wimal Weerawansa were motivated to take that message to the grassroots level. Then only some of them are at risk of getting Rajapaksa’s pictures tattooed.

Some considered Mahinda Rajapaksa as a religion. They promoted him through social media for their political survival. This should have been understood by MR, however, he did not care much about the sensitivity of his power. In turning the torn society into a civilized state, that power should have been transformed into a single power, mobilizing people in a spirit of truth and respect for truth.

Supreme value of voting power of the citizen should be branded in their heads. That should be excercised only if they are 100% sure of the persons.

Sinchuappu, Lilavati and Dhyavati or similar may not have the least awareness of the need for change in society, however their second generations, the youth for the future should not emulate their views of their own parents and relatives, if the youth really expect society to be changed palpably.

R.Premadasa s apparel industry paved the way SL to earn dollars again and again. 15 years of criminal politics of RAJAAPKSHES only made the country an eternally indebted nation. They filled their pockets by so called road and construction projects, by making them wealthier.. yet today, no real auditors and the professionals with due qualifications seem to be doing their job to get those hidden billions of dollars be brought back to the country. There are enough laws, if the experts would pay genuin attention to it.

MEDIA MAFIA is NO LONGER interested in bringing more information about GOTABAYA s hideouts today… they always forget one crucial new item covering the other … the people are made real FOOLS by country s mlechcha media mafia networds.

Sri Lanka is undergoing continuous political coup in this country for a long period of time but intensified after 2015. There are number of unknown truths behind the political leadership were buried in the dark in the name of Lord Buddha and patriotism to the island of Sri Lanka. One of them is illegal detention center in the Batalanda housing and industrial complex outside Colombo between 1988 and 1990 by the clean man. The massacre of 60000 Sinhalese buried by the hero’s under the soil during the same are also forgotten by our people. The recent Easter Bombing, burning of number of Ministers properties and the burning of RW home all are part and partial of our political masters heroism. If the people still do not understand the real true faces of these hero’s, people have to be slaves of masters.
When the Rajapaksas appointed all their family members as Ministers, Did any of the media or religious leaders or civil societies or politicians ask the President, Is the country belongs to only your family? Why?

This loser Ranil will never quit until he finishes of SL. A power hungry but a shameless man with no self respect at all. Can any one imagine such a person with such a politcal history ever even looking towards the parliament. But rajapaksa left over fellows will protect him because they know he is the only man who will protect them and save them as he has been doing. But dont know what the future awaits. These foolish uniform guys are just saluting to a totally illegal man with no credentials at all. If the Mahintha rats vote for him and if he becomes the president then I pitty them and the country.

Oh so wrong ! This Ponnaya cannot swat a mosquito without spraining his hand ! See the way he walks and listen to his voice , a tough guy ?

During Battalanda he enjoyed watching young men being tortured ( not women !) . The JVP was fought by Ranjan Wijeratne and soldiers. Ranil only enjoyed watching. He hated the JVP because he thought the JVP will take away his privileges and comforts !

In recent times, when our army began fighting the Tigers ,Ranil and Ravi K ridiculed them. Ranil was convinced Prabakaran was invincible.

If this same Ranil tries to use the army to suppress the people fighting this corrupt faggot, who do you think the army will kill ?

He is a sissy , only big words . Ask his boys whether he is a he or a she in reality ?

DS is probably a secret “faggot” himself, who is suffering because Ranil rejected his advances.

Among Sinhalayo there is a famous saying ‘Inguru Deela Miris Gattha Wage’ (Give ginger and take chili). That is what ‘Aragalakarayo’ did.

V, If there is all this scheming, the simplest thing to do is to suppress the post. Get rid of the post of executive president and all this confusion for the nation will be over. Do it.

Langkang’s war criminal leaders & Kleptocracy governments are explicitly abusing the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Priorities. International Countries are watching while people are dying in the lines for food and oil, these unscrupulous leaders are engaged in cutthroat competitions for higher leadership positions. In 4/21, 2019 a fake Muslims extremists’ suicide stun was organized by the government of anti-Muslim (minority). The reason was Sinhala Buddhist ruling & opposition parties wanted to steal again and keep the power within the evil elite circle. New King and Evil Ranil arranged the suicide mission from, inside the Yahapalanaya government to bring a Hitler as the next EP to teach a lesson to UNHRC. The most ruthless person in the country was installed as the EP with that power stealing drama. The people suffering and disappointed by this Dirty Drama started the protest to uninstall the Escobar Darbar. But the schemers have stolen the power again. The four months of hard fought “Rain and Shine” protest is on the brink of being used against the same people. A mass arrest and imprisonment is imminent, after protestors have withdrawn from the occupied mansions. Whether elections or armed rebelling or Gandhian Satyagraha from SJV’s FP, or People uprising like the one now, all have failed to ground zero in Langkang to make any change toward people’s democracy, from 1948.

Hyena politicians used the last election (2019) to crown a Hitler. The intention of that election (Oppressing minorities) was the nastiest. The techniques used by the Sinhala Buddhist Intellectuals (Viyathmaha bombed the Tamil Churches) was the dirtiest. So, the current protest was launched to undo that election. But how did it turn into installing the Evil Emperor, who was rejected by people in all elections he stood for, as the new EP? The truth is, the parliament people elect in Langkang is against the same people, it can be minority or the majority. When people started protesting, people thought that they were cleaning the country’s politics. But the counter revolutionists like Thero de Silva, senile Communists, Senile Ayatollahs, half-baked and opportunistic Colombo Media, and 225 8th grade donkeys who live in this world only for free lunch and pension, started to demand to save the parliament and they blackmailed people that if not, anarchy going to gloom the Langkang by their protest. That is it; the dream of protesters, that is “two or three weeks of interim government, a full fix to parliament with a new constitution and abolishing EP excess”, has now evaporated into the thin air.

In 2010 and 2015 Rani was afraid to stand as UNP candidate, UNP supported external candidates. In 2019, Ranil vigorously opposed any UNP candidate standing for EP election. A UNP dissident candidate stood in election and lost to the breakaway faction of SLFP candidate who swept the election. Evil Ranil proved what an experienced politician he was in the earlier elections, by not winning even one seat in the parliament election. (Later he told the SJP to go to him to learn how to steal power and authority). Basically, all elections were won by the SLFP and its faction, Slap Party in recent history. The Slap Party boosted itself as a party that swept all elections it stood, (because of the leadership it had,) within the three years of its formation. Today, there is no leader to contest in the EP selection process, on Slap Party behlaf, so Slap Party has borrowed Evil Ranil to lead and stand in the election. Is this what the Tamil saying of Catamaran goes on the cart one day and cart goes on the catamaran the other day. In the process of selecting the worst Evil as the EP, UNP and SLFP factions are borrowing and lending the Evils, party to party.

During the 2019 election when the Sinhala Viyathmaga put forward a Hitler candidate to protect the sovereignty of the country, we wrote in these pages that “protect the people to protect the nation, Protect the nation to protect the Sovereignty”. Viyathmaha and the Sinhala Buddist went on their arrogant path. Now the wellbeing of the people, majestics of the nation and safety of the country’s sovereignty are destroyed by War Criminal Hitler. Recently we said to take the yoke of IMF conditions and liberate the country from predatory countries like China, India….Country has defaulted a $70 million ISB and been named as an international loan defaulter. They opened their hands for the remaining $55 Billions. We told to take the yoke of the IMF, earn enough to repay that loan and for the people to eat, thus free the country from the predators. But labeling the IMF as Neo Colonialist and, to challenge the IMF, Appe Aanduwa borrowed another $3.5B from India and worked to borrow another $4.5B from China. This is where the SLap Party Viyathmaga wants the Evil Emperor to break the protestors’ anarchy.

The sweet invention of “Protestors’ anarchy” in this EP selections is the same token used by Viyathmaha in 2019 election as protecting the country’s sovereignty from Muslim, Tamil Jihadies. Anarchy has been head over heels in Langkang from 1948; Now Sinhala Intellectuals wants the Evil Emperor and Impunity King to save the worst parliament in the world to keep protesters’ anarchy away? That is the classic Sinhala Intellectuals’ Comedy!

Ranil won’t will win. Out of the 154 Potthuwa seats, 3/4 of them will be afraid about land-bridge and secessionist deals by him. Much of course depends on how much of stolen wealth they will have to hide, but then the country’s fiery wrath will be upon them is the land is divided and/or merged with India.

      Justice,
He was not corrupt, but had he acted properly, we would not have been that unlucky to see Rajapkshes ( the real high criminals) be scot free yet today.
      :
As asylum seekers in Athens would have been easy prey for any kind of illegal acts today, SRILANKEN people in general, ( may be it is common to all south asian folks) would be easy prey of CRIMINAL politicians.
      :
Pain of the people would not be settled, even if RAJAPAKHES would be executed in a public ceremony, or would have been stoned them to the manner SHARIA law imposers do it in Saudi…. the cancerous situation made by Rajakashes and their henchmen would not be easy to iron out until a decade or so .

      “Ranil is /was NOT CORRUPT.”

He has been bribing Muslim ministers for decades to get votes. That is why 3 Muslim ministers resigned immediately after the Easter attacks. They were affiliated with the terrorists. For example, Ranil had given land to one minister who allowed it to be used as a training ground for the jihadis. During Moda siri’s time in office, security was not a concern. Gnanasara was arrested for nothing, yet these jihadis were allowed to drive all over Colombo with explosives in the van.
