Is Sirisena A Political Traitor?

By Granville Perera

Maithripala Sirisena has come up with his new version of “Thana Patiya and Madu Waligaya”. He has exposed his true intentions OF STAYING IN POWER with his now infamous speech at “Sathviru Heritage” function held at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute, organized to transfer ownership of houses and properties to the security divisions. What has made him change overnight? Does he want his second term or is there a threat of a coup by Gota and his merry men, or a decent enough kickback offered by the Sri Lankan Viktor Bout, the Senadipathi of Avante Garde fame. He has found fault with independent commissions acting independently.Maithripala

It is pertinent to recall the speech made by our globally acclaimed head of Good Governance in Sri Lanka, President Maithripala Sirisena’s at the Anti Corruption summit in London on the 12th of May 2016.

“I thank Hon. Mr. David Cameron, Prime Minister for inviting me to attend this Anti-Corruption Summit in London. I consider this summit a significant step to combine our collective efforts to fight corruption that is wide spread all over the world.

Corruption is one of the factors that promote political violence and other forms of human rights abuses. Sri Lanka went through such a stage during the previous administration. The people reacted strongly against corruption by changing the corrupt administration by the power of the ballet in January 2015 at the Presidential election and again at the Parliamentary election in the August 2016.

The people acting democratically got rid of the corrupt leaders and their supporters. The current national unity government consists of the two major political parties in the parliament under my leadership and the other led by Prime Minister Hon. Ranil Wickramasinghe. We were elected to office on the policy platform of democracy, good governance and rule of law. Therefore, we consider our prime duty to root out of corruption from the country. We have already taken significant measures for this purpose. I am happy to inform this forum that with the introduction of the 19th amendment to the constitution I handed over most of the executive powers to the Parliament except those powers Supreme Court decided cannot be transferred. However, even under this limited situation as a demonstration of my commitment to transparency, accountability and the rule of law and my firm determination to route out corruption I established an anti-corruption secretariat, a special presidential commission to investigate. I also appointed a commission to investigate allegations of bribery and corruption. The Right to Information Act has been presented to the Parliament and the National Audit Act will be presented to the Parliament shortly. All these institutions are working satisfactorily. A special division within the police titled Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) was established to expedite investigations on major financial crimes. They have been given all necessary facilities to carry out their duties. They have already commenced flings of several major financial charges. We note with appreciation the support and cooperation already extended to Sri Lanka by several countries including UK, USA , India and Switzerland as well as the World Bank to strengthen the investigative agencies regarding the stolen assets. We are in the process of seeking information and assistance to trace them . We are happy that summit proposes to establish an International Anti- Corruption Centre, all of us as leaders need to act collectively to strengthen our own law enforcement agencies to track the corrupt and recover the proceeds of corruption.

Sri Lanka is fully committed to such firm action. Thank You.”

The above noble words have been flushed down the toilet with his statement of 12th October 2016 where he questions the right of independent commissions to act independently. The tragedy is, Sri Lankan politicians will find it hard not to poke their fingers in to independent investigations when it hurts them, especially when their children run riot at nightclubs, and commit murder.

What has changed this once loved president who is beginning to expose his true self? The greed for power is evident with his abuse of presidential privileges and his ever-growing extravagance at the presidential secretariat. His frequent travel with large entourages is reminiscent of the Rajapaksa extravagance. The abuse of staff and filthy language used by the president at the presidential secretariat will not be accepted in the Mariyakade slums. Power corrupts, and what has changed this simple Grama Sevaka from Polonnaruwa? He is getting drunk with power and has become a quick learner to follow in the footsteps of the most corrupt Rajapaksas. First, it was the appointment of his own Brother Pallewatta Gamaralalage Kumarasinghe Sirisena to the high position of Chairman of Sri Lanka Telecom to pocket some millions a month in to his own bank accounts. Millions more have been moved in to the pockets of the Presidents “Chatu” and her husband in advertising contracts. In the shortest possible time, he is beginning to outdo what the Rajapaksas did over a decade of unprecedented corruption. Now, he fears that he would be brought before the financial investigation units, should he be pushed out of his presidency after his first term. He announced upon his election in January 2015 that he would not seek a second term. He may now be even fearing an impeachment.

He has also exposed himself of being the person who has been guarding the interests of the Rajapaksa family and their loot by derailing the investigation process into corruption, the Thajudeen and Lasantha murders and other financial irregularities that has cost the country over 80 billion. He has already forgotten that the UNP elected him to the high office without the support of even 20% of the SLFP vote. Now, he fears that his SLFP lot would be placed 4th if the Local Government election is held with the UNP expected to lead, Mahinda Rajapaksa in second place, the JVP third and Sirisena’s SLFP in the fourth place.

He has dug his own grave by bringing in all the rogues from the former regime of Mahinda Rajapaksa in to Ranil Wickremesinghe’s cabinet so that the SLFP would not break up. His selfish tryst with the corrupt has brought the politics of Sri Lanka back to the wheeler dealing days of the Rajapaksa regime. The selfish Sirisena has sacrificed the people’s rainbow revolution.

It is time that Prime Minister takes the bull by the horn and takes Sirisena head on. The President has been shooting his mouth out of turn far too many times and has made the PM look a fool. The ever-gentlemanly Ranil has not opened his mouth in public. Its time that the UNP took the reins and brought Sirisena and his 40 thieves to justice or suffer the same fate of the 2002 UNP government.

    “Is Sirisena A Political Traitor?”

The answer is yes – a resounding yes. He is a wolf camouflaged in sheep’s clothing. Since coming to power all his actions are that of ‘yamapalanaya’ and not ‘yahapalanaya’. He is a top class ‘confidence trickster’ – a conman for short.

      BBS Rep

Are any of the investigations beginning to unravel his role directly or otherwise in any of the corruption cases?

      Because the man gets jittery.

Look at Gota and MR, how confident they appear in public.

The uttering of MS in public shows he not only wants to shield clan and its cronies, from charges of war crimes, corruption, human rights violation, nepotism, …… but his own family as well.

Now it is time for him to fight for Sinhala/Buddhism, a place in the constitution. It worked in the past and will work in the future.

He will be absolved from all crimes and the people and country will continue to suffer happily ever after.

        My dear Native,
“Now it is time for him to fight for Sinhala/Buddhism”
This is part of the problem in ‘Silly Lanka’ at present and will be in the future. ‘Buddhism’ is not something to fight for. It is a way of life (Aarya Ashtangika Margaya). Even the ‘Enlightened One’ could not help anyone when it came to ‘Liberation’ or ‘Nibbana’.
You must read a little bit more and listen to ‘Dhamma’ more often. Unfortunately for the ‘Silly Lankan’ population, the real teachings are not being interpreted by the present ‘Self proclaimed Arahants’.
        Metta!

            Dear Native, timbuttu & Gemunu,
There is no such thing called ‘Sinhala/Buddhism’. Also, there are no Brahmins or Untouchables. Gowthama Buddha and Sopaka the untouchable kid were the same according to ‘Dhamma’. I do not intend to waste my time on people of your calibre anymore but wish you all attain some sort of knowledge in the future for your own realization of ‘Anichcha, Dhukka & Anaathma’. Metta!

The best course of action is to have him replaced with the original nominee for the Presidency – the current Speaker of Parliament. Then chase him back to Polonnnaruwa after royally treating him to the Thana Patiya and Madu Waligay. Anyone ready to endorse?

Definitely he is a TRAITOR and a TRAITOR OF THE WORST KIND. He promised us Yahapalanaya, but by poking his finger in affairs of the independent commissions he has been a TRAITOR to all those who fought and voted for him. This is not the first time he has done it, when he had Appa and betrayed Mahinda was one, the news item in Austaralia was another, taking all the former SLFP rogues into the Parliament was another, protecting his son from justice is another, now putting his finger where it does not belong and which is over and above his authority into the affairs of independent commissions is another. Above all protecting Rajapakse family is the biggest and the Deal every one was talking about.

Whether Maithripala Sirisena is playing another chess game or not, It looks FCID is there only to corner Rajapakses. Upto now, they have not done anything else. There are so many corruptions in the current govt. They don’t have a strategy to prosecute those. Some of the corruptions by current yahapalana – ministers when they were in the previous govt were exposed. But, nothing happened.

It looks the agenda is run mostly by CBK, Mangala and Ranil, who is OK with anything as long as his position is fixed, most probably to fulfill the foreign govts needs. Because, some foreign govts are scared if Rajapakse comes, that would be more trouble to them. Some Civil society and NGOs are backed by the foreign govts.

It is better Maithripala Decides it right now before people throw him out too. Day by day, Yahapalana govt corruptions are increasing. Ranil is supporting them.

    Mr. Granville! Please wake up!
It is both hilarious and pathetic to see how the UNP that found themselves upside down by the President’s speech is now attempting to both reject and justify the same speech like in the old Sinhalese adage: Kapanna bari atha simbeema’ (kissing the hand that you tried but failed to cut).
Every credible indicator shows that country’s development is simultaneously stalled and slipping downhill. No plan, no investment, no budget, no money and no incentive, no peace of mind to do anything and no future. Everyone has been after the Rajapakses for 20 long months and now tired; finally the hound dogs got nothing but a slap on their genitals! The Rajapaksas are seen with a grin on the other side of the equation untouched, unhurt and unaffected! Majority people believe that they are safe because they saved all of us and this God Blessed Land from a 30 year terrorist war!
Yahapalanaya is gradually becoming an insult to common man’s intelligence! Many now say: “Natapu thovilekuth netha; bere paluvakuth netha”! (If a CT reader can translate this please do so)!
The common man knows that politicians from the highest to the lowest level stink; Green, Blue, Red or multicolor is not the issue; it is their upbringing! When the UNP was in power (1977-1994) Mahaveli flew to Trico through Finco. Gam Udava was an easy-money Udava for many UNP contractors. How many UNPers built mansions and villas thru’ Gam Udava and Mahaveli contracts? Do you have any idea? Not only that, Free trade was a free rape of our economy and culture in Sri Lanka. Today we talk about Lasantha and Prageeth and conveniently forget Richard de Soysa. (I still have a copy of the Time magazine article written about the murder of Richard de Soyza)! How many Thajudeens were killed during 88-89 by JVP and UNP thugs out of sheer vengeance? Some were even mistaken identities!
Failing to take revenge from political opponents for the last 20 months, Yahapalana rulers now find no time to think about the country’s development issues or other burning issues that suffocate their countrymen. In short, Yahapalanaya is already dead! Then what would they do now?
They are busy now with their own survival issues including how to get the maximum within the next 3 years and how to hide their ill-gotten money. They know that the Central Bank bond scam and other scams involving UNP stalwarts will be an Atomic bomb and a future JO government will drop it right over Sirikotha with a remote control. They may even convert the FCID/CID to a drone for this purpose! Most members of the JO’s inner circle are well versed with Machiavelli’s Prince. Machiavelli said “If an injury has to be done to a man it should be so severe that his vengeance need not be feared”. That’s why I am scared!
Let me finish this comment with another Sri Lankan adage “Honda Honda sellam elivena jameta” (Expect more interesting games at dawn)!

If I was running it, I would think twice before carrying out political agendas!

People were ignorant to bring a party that has no vision or people to bring the country forward, They were duped into believe buying cars!

Everybody is trying to make a quick buck by selling their car permits!

Just tell me what has this lot done since forming the Yahapalanaya except feeding the public with revenge arrests and releasing. Also blaming on MR for all their short comings. Have they developed a single road? Look at the metropolis now and what it used to be. All politicians are crooks. Don’t try to paint a different picture on this lot. You are Not a patriot in true terms that is why you tend to knock down the Sinhalese. All your previous postings were anti Sinhala and Rajapaksa. Wait for a tsunami to take over soon. Perhaps you want an impeachment and give RW a free hand to bully the nation with his cronies. Good luck mate

Stick to the issue at hand. Is President Sirisena, a traitor or not?

Sinhala-“Buddhists” have killed Pristine Buddhism. Is Sirisena Repeating that for the People of Lanka?

Theravada Sinhala-“Buddhists” have left no room for Mahayana Buddhism, and even destroyed Mahayana Buddhist Temples. There are hardly any Tamil Buddhists in Lanka, the Land of Native Veddah Aethho, whereas there are plenty in Tamil Nadu. Why? Sinhala Buddhism follows Mara?

Sinhala “Buddhists” Follow Mara, who opposed Buddha.

They are like the Wahhabi “Muslims”, ISIS etc. who follow the Devil, Satan, Iblis, and only idiots and fools do not recognize that, because their average IQ is low, around 79.

There is some kind of Cure. Sing Jaya Magala Gatha, in the Original Pali, every morning, before you listen to any Pirith or Bana.

Jaya Mangala Gatha-Verses of Auspicious Victory (rare Pali version)-Buddhist Chants

        Published on May 21, 2011

Based on the Book of Protection (Paritta Sutta) from the Pali canon, the Jaya Mangala Gatha is sung here in a rare recording by the Mahabodhi Society of India in original Pali. The Jaya Mangala Gatha is a chant recommended by the Buddha to destroy negativity and to generate auspiciousness. It proclaims the 8 major victories of the Buddha which are:

        1) Victory over Mara (MaRa, Mahinda Rajapaksa)
        2) Victory over the demon Alavaka (Gamanpila)
        3) Victory over the wild elephant Nalagiri ( Wimal Buruwansa)
        4) Victory over serial killer Angulimala ( Gotabaya, whom Gon Sira is trying to protect)
        5) Victory over the evil intentions of Cinca who sought to defame (Pavitrra)
        6) Victory over the haughty brahmin Saccaka ( Vasudeva)
        7) Victory over the serpent king Nandopananda (Dinesh)
        8) Victory over the false views of Brahma Baka ( Gon Gamaral, sirisena)

It is important to understand that most of these are allegorical stories that relate to the Buddha defeating the negative aspects of his (Mara and Alavaka) and others’ minds.
It is said that these verses if chanted with a clear and pure intention are helpful in protecting the seeker by attracting the Good around.
The Pali pronunciation here is exemplary and difficult to find.

Please permitted me to say that and give me an opportunity amended version of “Political Traitor” of MS been elected by 6.2 million votes of our an Island change into that he could be “Traitor of Country”. Undisputed fact of truth that Traitor of MS that we are fully agreed with that story revealed by CT.

In the People point of view MS is most an eligible for the meaning of Traitor. No body disputed facts of truth of history;even so far after so many coming years which that historical judge will give him similar to the version of MS as the National Betrayal that our people of Island.

That is most suitable for version him of by role he played during 2015 Presindital Elections as the “National Traitor” of that New UNP leader of MS and her closed Comrade-in-Arms of CBK of New Federalists of Tamil decedents of SLFP, that which outright betray which Sovereignty, Independent and Territorial Integrity and Democracy of Sri Lanka.

The Mithraipala Sirisena has made historical marked of the betrayal our all people of Sri Lankan after 1815 that our nation had been colonial occupation by under the rule of British Empire.

Even Colonial rule end 68 years ago , we are back to the same Old path, in New form that almost same path of new version of “Good governed” of New Liberal colonial STATE by in the THREE IN ONE REGIME–MS +CBK+ Ranil W..of UNPs’.

The West is advocating by New Federalist Constitution fully back by Old UNP-leader of Ranil W.. TNA, LTTE and JVP’s line of new “political democracy” been encouraging by USA, UK, EU and Japan .

After that MS been to power chair of political class in centre of Colombo regain & back by roots all Comprador bourgeoisies vested interest in locally and Internationally puppet state of USA and Indian Expansionism an ally.

That was a day of beginning ( 2015 January 9th)of ‘Counter’ Revolution by New UNP leadership MS+ CBK co-habitation with OLD UNP-classes Rep. of Ranil W… and SLFP-line of “Federalist” of the Tamil decedent of CBK played the vital role of politics that Nation Betrayal in overall restoration of Counter of “Rainbow Revolution named & accepts by Western News Media and State Department of USA and Ministry of External Affairs of Indian Govt.

Since MS led elements are in process of betrayal nation ; by the Western and Indian joint collaboration that current MS +CBK and Ranil .W… leadership working on surrender Ours national Sovereignty to West and Indian big bourgeoisie.

Needless to say we almost puppet regime in power of Executives are in Colombo an installed by CIA and RAW operation system of governances that they call “Good Governances”.

Therefor large number of PEOPLE are blind on this ongoing real satiation in politically cover up by TWO party system of UNP and SLFP division.

The crux of matter is not that build “New” Party by Old leadership is not the solution of MS greatly Betrayal.

That is no an option of Change of SLFP and its revitalization of SLFP by turn into the masses of People time being.

Yes, we need New Democratic Sustsnibility Revolution led by Masses oriented Party. That party is not Socialist .But its need democratic frame work to completed that unfinished revolutionary task left by Old Bourgeoisies and their Parties.

The Task and OLD Era of Capital market Economy has in processing changing into New Venture Capital has emerge. That is current Globe capital market is NOT dominated by USA, EU, UK and Japan only?

Revolution of People power has shifting into the New Epoch that has an Identified by Rational Marxist.

One need not be surprised if MS pulled the rug from under Ranil’s feet one of these days, just the way Chandrika did it to him in 2004. It is quite obvious that MS, forgetting that he was brought into power by an anti-SLFP vote is now planning to become the all powerful leader of the SLFP with the blessing of Rajapaksas and the corrupt SLFP gang.

Sirisena will do anything to get a second term because he has tasted the juices of power. Now, he will betray the people who brought him to power and sleep with the enemy to get his wish of a second term. What he fails to understand that the independent commissions are not answerable to him. That is where he will meet his water loo

Is not President Sirisena’s ‘outburst’ an expression of the pent up contradictions of Yahapalanaya? Are the independent Commissions so defended by the dollar dependent NGOs and bankrupt political entities like the JVP, above the law?
Who wields the power of the people? The elected President or the Commissions?
All those who voted for the bulldozed 19th.Amendment are accountable for this mockery of affairs.

The President is essentially a crypto-Marxist; he has a background in the Communist Party and the JVP. The real question is why he was so quick to appoint RW as PM. RW is a Capitalist. I would guess, to keep the West at bay, since RW is a friend of the West.
