A father, mother and two of their three children were mercilessly attacked by police who went to inquire about a Muslim man’s land lease and the dispute arising with a Tamil man named Vasanthakumar over that. The two children, Vasanthakumar Kirubaharan aged 16 years and Vasanthakumar Kiriya aged 13 years have been admitted to the Mankulam hospital this evening (9 Sept.).
The mother, Vasanthakumar Sharmila, stated that “the land in Kanakarayankulam where the Dhas hotel stands belongs to us. And of the two acres we gave only an acre on lease for two years in 2010 to a Muslim man. The lease has been renewed again and came to an end in August 2017. Even though we have given in writing for lessee to leave the place he is running a shop there against the law and is supported by the police.” 
Continuing, she told this reporter, “We have complained many times to the Kanakarayankulam police but to no avail. In this situation, we started planting coconut trees in the remaining one acre for our livelihood. This morning while we were watering the trees the shop owner deliberately came to fight with us. The police came, had a look and went away but did not tell us anything. Then this evening, with the police hiding in the shop, the shop owner called us to come out. When my husband went there the Officer-in-Charge of the Kanakarayankulam Police severely attacked him. When I saw that, I ran to the place to help my husband. But the OIC attacked me too severely in spite of my being a woman, and also pulled my dress till the two sides tore. I was standing thus in the middle of the road. When my 16 year-old son saw that, he tugged me away from the OIC and shouted ‘Let my mother go.’ Upon this the OIC twisted his neck so hard. That he was badly injured and had to be admitted to the hospital with a swollen neck.”
Amid tears streaming down her face, she went on, “At the same time the OIC punched my thirteen year old daughter hard in the stomach without any mercy. She is badly hurt and she too has been hospitalized. We have been threatened saying that my husband was once a member of the militancy. Unlike the shop owner, we have no money to heavily bribe the police with.”.
Five separate witnesses confirmed that it was the OIC who perpetrated the assault.
A resident interviewed for this story said, “The police can be bought. Kanakarayankulam is just North of Puliyankulam. The state is trying to settle the place with Sinhalese. The Police are the driving force against Tamils. The Omanthai Police Station is now called Omantha Police Station. Every police station in a Tamil place named after a Kulam (pond) is now the Police Station of such and such Kulama. The state’s colonization project is going on at full speed even under our new government. Even Jaffna has not been spared. Kantharodai has been successfully renamed Kadurugoda.”
A Jaffna-based academic asked “How can such a police force offer us protection?” He continued, “I expected a lot more after the Police Commission was established. But the Commission is quite public in saying they cannot rein in the IGP. The IGP himself has been videoed assaulting a staff member for not attending a religious service he had arranged. The Police Commission did nothing. I venture that they are powerless to save this Kanakarayankulam family.”
Added another person in Jaffna who has worked for reconciliation, “We are all supposed to talk peace. However, I get the feeling that doing that just buys time for these rogues to do more of their dirty work without being restrained. For example, when our TNA talks peace, it is unable to raise the heinous crime of renaming Kantharodai as Kadurugoda. I say heinous because uprooting us from our culture, destroying our culture, is one dimension of Genocide. Isn’t it so? Here we have the sad, even terrorizing spectacle of the police trying to make a Tamil family lose its land and move out to depopulate the place of Tamils. There are cases filed by the police where they themselves have planted the so called evidence in poor illiterate former war areas . Shankar, have you tried that? They will take a year to serve notice and then a lot more time to argue. Then there are lawyer’s fees for every dud appearance where nothing happens. Can poor people afford that? Even if the value of the land is worth more than these expenses, they may not have the money to last the legal process.
Are you a lawyer by any chance to defend their horrible money spinner. I have seen lawyers disappearing just before a case is called on the excuse of being required in another court. The case is postponed. But you still need to pay the lawyer who will claim that he asked the Registrar to “keep it down” but it got called anyway.

The smart thing is not to give anybody anything on rent or lease in this country.
Now that these people have gone and given on lease we can’t look at it in a racial way because it is happening all over the country.A guy in cinnamon gardens gave his house to a business and now can’t get rid of them and has to live in nugegoda.He doesn’t get even the rent now.

The police are thought to be the most corrupt department in the country. They are also the most sadistic, judging by a history of assaults, torture and deaths of citizens in custody – confirmed by UN Rapporteurs.
Now they assist/enforce the ‘Sinhalisation’ of the northern province.

In this case, the IGP and/or the Police Commission should take action by interdicting – not transferring – the Omanthai policemen and serving them with a ‘show cause’ notice followed by an inquiry by persons unconnected with the police.
The matter of the shooting deaths of the two motorcycle riding undergraduates has not yet been inquired into, by a court of law.
If this had happened in the South, by now there would have been a ‘hue & cry’, not only in parliament.

In the historical past the generic Sinhalese included those who considered themselves Sinhalese even if they were not biologically too close If Sinhala only had not been forced by law the Tamils would have over time learnt Sinhalese as I noticed during my service in the North during that period. It is good to have a single ethnicity and the Sinhalese have in the past absorbed other ethnic groups.Left to natural forces a single nation may emerge. But not by force. Many persons in a minority like to be considered as part of the nation and include themselves in the majority. But they re-assert their ethnicity if they are subject to discrimination.

As there were no trains on that day( Railways unions So call end STRIKE) I Had to Take TWO buses to Vuvniya and Luckly about 9 o clock in the night. Just passing the new bus stand, staying about 45 minutes, I Got into a sand truck plying to KKS. The driver was a Tamil guy and I was talking to him in my broken tamil and Sometimes in International language ( dumb people’s like talking). After 10 minutes he stopped the truck at a road side tea boutique for dinner.
After having our dinner Suddenly he told me Sir, I want to get some changed money with 100 RS Notes to give to ROADSIDE WAITING BEGGERS . I was thinking About the Murugandy Hindu Temple and Some time few beggers were staying there.
I asked him why you want to give them 100 Rs notes, Any VOW you wants perform there at the Murugandy Temple?????.

Last week an elderly Tamil man protested against the rampant corruption against the Kilinochchi Police by climbing a tree not far away from the stage where the Minister for Justice, Chief Justice, Judges, Officials from the Judiciary, lawyers and others were seated. The protester even named the Policemen who was harassing him to give bribe.
In this case, the dispute is between a Tamil the lesser and a Muslim the lessee. It is a civil dispute.
The OIC should have advised the parties to file a case in the court.
Instead, the OIC took the law into his own hands and dispensed jungle justice.
The lesser who is the owner of the hotel must have entertained the OIC lavishly many times over.
Or he must have paid a fixed sum of money as kappam every month!
It is obvious the OIC was indebted to the hotel owner and was returning the favour.
It is not enough to transfer the OIC out of Kanagarayankulam. The errant Policeman at Kilinochchi was transferred not dismissed from service.
A proper inquiry should be conducted and the OIC should be dealt with under the law governing Police discipline.
I know to ask the President/Prime Minister to take disciplinary action against the OIC is like asking for the moon.
Ceylon is a country where murderers, drug smugglers, corrupt officials are getting away scot-free.

I am one of those who honestly believed when Sirisena became the President things would change for the better in SL. Now it has become worst than ever before. Even the President is directly involved in protecting accused murderer by sending him to represent Sirisena in Mexico when he was wanted by CID to appear at their office. Similarly today when Gota’s case came up there were no Govt lawyers present. All these show a similar pattern of behavior of President Sirisena . Even during the last local govt election Sirisena acted against PM who helped Sirisena to become the President. Where is Sirisena taking this county? Why is the Minister of Justice and Minister of Law and Order doing nothing about these. Even up to date Gnanasara is not wearing the jumper, why is he given a special treatment. He has been found fault by the courts. Its time even the Chief Justice seem to be part of the game that is being played by Sirisena. I am sad to see Sri Lanka going to dogs under Sirisena. It is these illegal Sinhalese colonists and the Sinhalese state who are keeping the Muslims powerful in the east and allowing them to rule, despite the fact , that the Tamils are the largest population in the east and are the original indigenous population of this area. Now it is happening in the north too.

Contd: The ancestors of these Tamils from the north and east took pity and gave refuge to these ancestors of these Muslims , who were fleeing persecution , from Portuguese and the Sinhalese to settle in their lands , as fellow Tamils and humans and now their descendants are suffering from this kind misplaced decision. These people in the name of their religion and a fake Arab origin and egged on by the Sinhalese state want to steal the lands and homes of the very same people who took pity on them and gave them refuge. No wander the west is vary of Muslim refugees, as they are also now seeing the results. We need police and land powers for the Tamil North and East to stop further dispossession of the Tamil population and their lands being forcible stolen by Sinhalese and Muslims , who are supported by Sinhalese armed forces, police and the state.

This incident must be raised in Parliament and an inquiry commission set up to look into it and the costs of such Commission must be recovered from the culprits This ‘Sinhalisation’ must be stopped by the government by issuing instructions that any name change of places should be done only with the approval of the Provincial Council even if it is a central government function carried out by the provincial or local authority. The government must not allow radical Sinhalese to take the law into their own hands. They must be charged even if they are supported by the majority of the Sinhalese. The government belongs to all including the Tamils. Let us show them that it is so by punishing the errant Sinhalese.

It is high time we gave up hopes on politicians, they have proved that they are clear exponents of the vilest species representing Homo sapiens . Many and varying are the reasons why our politicians fall into this category. We daily hear of unjust and cruel treatment experienced by the poor and the suffering while politician’s immediate family,kith and kin ,their extended gang of cohorts are sucking the life blood of the Nation. From president downwards they are trying to show their clean hands but no white apparel or’ sil redi’ can transform them. Those politicians who think their hands are clean should come to the fore to tell your so called leaders that
enough is enough.There is no other way, we see almost daily blatant violations of Law and justice. The recent incident appearing in CT I am sure would have brought tears to it’s readers but not to the politicians. Will the President, PM or the Minister for Law and order take action to bring justice to this poor family? no, not in my wildest dreams. One thing is clear, things will become worse before they can get better.

There was an incident on 31st August at ismailpuram varuthalaipiddy in Amparai district, where the house contents and a three wheeler belongs to a young Hindu family was set fire by a gang believed to be Muslims, for the family’s refusal to convert to Islam. The family was under threats previously and the police took no action. Nearly nine relatives of this family have already been converted owing the threats intimidation and sometimes by financial inducement.
Police have not taken any criminal action although this family, husband wife and a three months old baby, escaped narrowly from fire. Police have entered this incident as a civil claim. More details and the photograph of burnt out three wheeler, house with family members appears in Batinatham website (tamil) .
As usual none of the Tamil politicians has shown any interest or come to rescue by words or deeds.

This Muslim man came under they guise of leasing the land for a certain period but his real intention was , once he was in , to forcibly take over the land from this poor helpless peasant Tamil family , who are the legal owners of this land. As usual the local Sinhalese police and establishment is in cohorts with this Muslim, as they will help any non Tamil to marginalise the island’s Tamils and steal their lands . This is what the so called forestry and archeological department is doing in the north and east. Targeting Tamil people and their lands for Sinhalese colonisation and settlement and trying to take over them under the guise of forest preservation and archeological significance ,as ancient Buddhist artifacts are buried there. Strange only seem to be buried in Tamil lands , Hindu temples and Tamil areas, no where else. Muslims have been doing this in the east for some time , using funds obtained from Gulf Arab states, their politicians and the Sinhalese state police and armed forces to steal Tamil lands and now starting this in the north too. During the LTTE rule the Tamil people never had to suffer such indignities in their own lands in the north and east . These Muslims and Sinhalese were scared and knew their place. Tamil people despite hardships lived safely and crime free in their lands. No Muslim or Sinhalese would have dared to have behaved in this manner. We need our own land powers and police as per sec 13a and these Sinhalese police and army, including the fake forestry and archeological department should be packed and sent back to the south. Tamil people should refuse to do business with these treacherous Muslims and boycott their business or refuse to sell or lease their lands to them. We have to safeguard ourselves and whatever remains of our ancient land , that has not been stolen.

Lands and Hindu temples released by the Army are seized immediately by Forest and Archeological Dept with the help of Buddhist monks. But Hindu religious affairs minister and the department remains silent. All Ceylon Hindu congress and other Hindu organisations temples too don’t care. In western countries there are thousands of srilankan Hindus and Hundreds of temples managed by srilankan Tamil Hindus but they too have no interest and remain indifferent. When there is no one to take care of, let entire srilankan Hindus diminish and vanish soon so that the country will be free from these pliant creatures.
