Media Barred From Covering Ranil Wickremesinghe Swearing-In: President Worried About Humiliation Caused By Photograph

Media has been barred from covering the swearing-in event of UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe at 11.16 AM.

Sirisena

The Presidential Secretariat has not invited media to cover the event which is of international importance.

The move is aimed at suppressing the photograph of the UNP Leader taking oaths before the President who vowed not to re-appoint Wickremesinghe in his lifetime.

Sources close to the President said Maithripala Sirisena is worried about the possible humiliation caused by the photograph.

Wickremesinghe is expected to leave for Presidential Secretariat from Temple Trees shortly.

This is just misdirection the real problem is Ranil Wickremesinghe can’t be re appointed as Prime Minister if his removal was unconstitutional! Why are you giving President Sirisena a face saving opportunity with this drama!?

If he is reappointed it would be unconstitutional so now suddenly ok to act unconstitutionally!?

This is what I have been saying. It is the legitimizing of an illegitimate act similar to going through the marriage ceremony of an already married couple who have been forcibly separated.

Absolutely true, what a bloody stupid mess this whole morass has become. Maybe someone will take this issue to courts too and get a ruling on it and get it declared “null and void” or “ultra vires” and take us back to square one !

There is no case of reappointing when the removal was wrong. The prolongation of injunction of appointing of new PM by supreme court is a harbinger to what the final decision of the court will be. After this only MR stage a fake resignation when in the first instance his appointment was unconstitutional.

      Lankan No 1 ,

      “M&s lost his respect..”

He lost his balls too. They dissolved, when the parliament was unconstitutionally dissolved. When the Parliament was reinstated by the Supreme Court , Sirsisena’s dissolved balls did not come back. There wee seen like Kottang Seeds in the Kalani River!

PResident has included a very interesting part in his welcome story. A fifth Time Prime minister is one who were hiding in the Temple Trees and one who was not willing to take the responsibility twice for two things that he did. That is He says, even though he is the Bond Scam instigator and the Alibaba, he di dnot do it. Secondly, he was ready to approve the constitution making Sri lanka a Federal country. On the otherhand, Mahinda Rajapkase had been to the Swearing ceremony and he had Asked Ranil, what is wrong. did you think I was there stay for ever.”. Ranil had given a sheepish smile. Ask the others.

That fool publicly humiliated him and his parents in front of the whole world on October 26, 2018 and since. Seriously, one just can’t out do this joker even if you tried. This idiot will be written in history as Sri Lanka’s Dumbest citizen. He should be impeached and chucked in prison for the chaos and loss he has caused to this country. Lets hope ‘Good governance’ will at least be implemented now and all those promises from 2015 get implemented without hindrance. There is no excuse!

I can’t really understand MR resigning yesterday and RW newly taking oath today.
MR’s appointment as PM on 26 October was illegal and therefore not recognised at law as such what did he resign from?
And again RW’s dismissal the same day was illegal as such he is the PM even today irrespective of all the events.
Then why IS RW taking the oath again today?
    Can someone please clarify? Thanks.

Read the Supreme Court verdict that Sirisena-Rajapaksa violated the constitution.
MR resigned to recover some pride from his foolhardy decision to believe SB

Because Sirisena can’t understand what is wrong and what is right

OK. This is how it is, as I understand it. Dissolution of parl and removal of PM take place under two distinct provisions of the constitution. Diss of parl was contested in the supreme court and we know the judgement 7 judges gave. Removal of the PM was contested in the court of appeal. The CA directed MR and his gang to show by what authority they are holding office while prohibiting them from performing their ministerial functions. Subsequently the number of judges who should hear this case happened to be dispute. This matter went upto SC for a decision. This was resolved and the CA is to hear this case in mid january. But with the appointment of Ranil now, they may not see the need to proceed now.

He doesn’t worry about the humiliation because he got used with humiliation and shame. He is worried his face might show his next planned jump to shrewd viewers and readers. MS & MR must be having a plan for next action.

Yes, Appaya was so ashamed, he didn’t allow any media to cover the swearing in. Immediately after he had gone back to his residence. He didn’t want to talk to anyone. He is now on suicide watch according to reliable sources.

Please somehow give him a bottle of poison or a rope. That’s the best service you can do to Sri Lanka. We have to get rid of one fool at a time until all 225 are gone:-)

President Sirisena has not Changed. Vendetta against Ranil is in PREZ heart. His smile is a bogus smile. JVP should pursue an action of impeachment against PREZ. It is dangerous to continue having him as PREZ, Ranil should move swiftly to improve economy and Tourism. Make sure PC elections are held without much delay. Release the political prisoners. Build confidence among the minority community who helped him to get back the post

It is UNP who should initiate impeachment against MS and not JVP. By this RW is demonstrating that he plays double game by doing nothing and getting JVP to do the dirty job. Re minority community, I heard that China is going to pressurise Sri Lanka to settle Tamil demands within Sri Lanka in order to neutralise influence of India and US on Sri Lanka. I will not be surprised if China withholds $650 million due as lease fees for Hambantota port in December placing Sri Lanka in economic doldrums.

Prime Ministet Ranil Wickremasinghe should listen to his UNP members and WC and instill confidence in the people by taking right decisions to be fair and just to all communities without discrimination. Don’t help those who are having cases and a bad track record. Give all assistance to the independent judiciary to do their job without fear or favor against those who are facing court trials and prove the independence of the judiciary as those holding judicial office are human beings given a job to dispense justice and cannot be influenced by anyone. MR and his gang of spoiled citizens should be put to RIP and the country should be emancipated from all wrong doings and made like another Singapore so that all Sri Lankans be he Buddhists, Tamil Hindus, Christians, Muslims (Moors and Malays) Burghers, Estate Tamils and other Sri Lankans should live as one Nation of a single community and work towards building the nation to its prosperity and recognition as United Nation and a prosperous Sri Lankan community without bias, suspicion, racial or communal feelings, and as one nation of human beings. Corruption, Nepotism, should be eschewed and there should be Independece of judiciary, no one should be above the law. Impose death penalty to those engaged in rape, heroin peddlers, and any activities that hinder the progress and prosperity of the nation take action without fear or favor whether he be big or small citizen. There should be justice and FairPlay in all departments both government, mercantile and other no matter what position one holds. Develop the country with patriotism like Singapore and prosecute the wrong doers like Malaysia. May God help Sri Lanka to be a progressive and well recognized nation and respected citizens and eschew communalism and nepotism.

The fool has already been humiliated so what more humiliation could happen. What happened to his statement “I will resign if I have to appoint RW again”. Now…. not keeping up with words is a humiliation. Do Sri Lankans need a proven liar as their president:-)

There are no permanent friends or enemies in politics.
Errors happen, and judiciary corrects them.
No one needs to be ashamed.
It is the ‘hangers on’ who waited for the ‘crumbs from the table’ who are disappointed.
Now, all must work together to pull the nation out of the morass, else we will end up like Zimbabwe.

Maithripala by selecting Mahinda and his group of Racist politicians has shown he too is a racist. There is no place for Racists in Sri Lankan politics. The first duty of the new Parliament should be to pass an act that would ban any Racist action, statement or in any form where Racism raises its head. We have suffered enough due to Racism in the past, the time is ripe for such an act to be passed in the Parliament. Sajith Premadasa should bring this act to the Parliament immediately.

An excellent suggestion “Buddhist”. But, it is doubtful that either UNP or SLFP/SLPP lunatics will bring in progressive policies to stamp out Racism. It is their tool and the only viable weapon discovered to keep the masses divided for their survival.

Did anyone of you commenting above, see the speech made by the President after the appointment? ? First, go see it in full, if you can….. Then, Give it a few weeks…. remember… denial stage comes first. Will you still continue to support the unp after hearing what they have done, (and the things they have avoided doing)? [edited out]

Can you take him seriously, the truth hurts ,that he is a proverbial Liar.
