New Cabinet To Swear-In At 8.30 AM Tomorrow: Compromise Reached Over Control Of State Media Institutions

The new Cabinet of ministers will take oaths tomorrow at 8.30 AM before President Maithripala Sirisena.

Wickremesinghe

When contacted by Colombo Telegraph, a senior UNP Parliamentarian confirmed that they had been asked to be present at the President’s Office at 8.30 AM tomorrow for the swearing-in ceremony.

The appointment of a new Cabinet got delayed due to strong differences of opinion between President Maithripala Sirisena and the UNP over several state institutions.

The President initially wanted control over the Police and the Ministry of Media. Colombo Telegraph learns that Mangala Samaraweera is likely to retain his previous position as the Minister of Finance and Media.

However, it is also learnt that there will be a compromise agreement between the President and the UNP over the control of state media institutions. President Sirisena will appoint his nominees to head several selected state media institutions while the UNP will nominate chairpersons for the remainder.

President Sirisena has also agreed to appoint a Law and Order Minister from the UNP. However, it is still not clear whether Sirisena has agreed to place the Department of Police under the Law and Order Minister, moving it out of the purview of the Defence Ministry.

UNP national list parliamentarians Malik Samarawickrama, D.M. Swaminathan and Thilak Marapana will not take up positions in the new Cabinet, Colombo Telegraph learns. They have voluntarily opted out of the Cabinet to allow Wickremesinghe to limit the Cabinet to 30 members.

My only wish right today about my country is all gods to work on this man SIrisena and remove him from our sights sooner than later.

Not just few hundreds but 22 millions of the rotten island are compelled to face the consequences of his power struggle- conspiracy.

Today we see it very clear, he just reacts as if an offended child would do. Just becasue his evasiveness would not allow, he has made public statements about whom he would appoint as ministers. He has no whatso ever least respect towrads the people whose mandate made his presidency a reality.

Instead, he now join hands well even closer as no times before with his former bitter rivals. And his public statements create further divisions among the UNF and anti Rajakshe supporters. Not many seem to share their thoughts consdering the consequences but people are fed up of SIRISENAs politics by today.

We none would ever want ANY OTHER SIRISENAS to even get elected for the post of village headman position. The kind of men can only create turmoil in this democracy loving nation.

I have seen the man drumming with a real Geta Bera around his waste, Wimal Weerawansa family style. I have seen him dancing with an old woman on the street. But something I dread is to hear his ‘customary whiny speech’ as you put it.

Just having watched the meeting Sirisena held after the reappointment of PM few days ago, I myself it will not be easy at all UNPrs to get on with him today. That is the reason all these to get delayed from one day to another.

Entire nation is awaiting to see things happening normal. But Country s first citizen, elected president, obviously is caught by menta problems so that he cant forsee anything correctly.
HOw come a bugger of this nature repeatedly ruin our life this way , if he is a healthy and sane person ?

Once upon a time this country was called ” pearl of asia” but to this day, it has turned out to be rascal dominated rotten island.
How and what caused the island nation to be worst or similar to those living in illiterate dominated pakistan by their deeds today, thought statistics prove them to claim much higher social indicators ( with literacy rate being 93%).

Now it has been becoming clearer that nothing matters the higher numbers of literacy rates so long people s attitudes would not change with the time. Even former President and his son had the audcity to whisper his vicious gang to continue throwing Chilli powder on essetially older Mr Speaker Karu Jayasooriya.

To this date, albeit there are rumours President to have abused or been abusing power as if he may have thought he could exercise his power blocking some ministerial positions to some guys that he feels they are not loyal enough.

We never expected a president to fall the level of appalling levels, at the time, we went to appoint him. Not just his party but predomninately, UNF and others stood by him at the time, he was campaigng to presidency. Had UNF been away from him, he would not have the chance to become the president of this nation. Today the credibility of president is fallen to minus levels, nevertheless he has been drolling his kind of statements as he would have been president of the island nation. My gosh, what more to be happened this man to be ataken away from power ?

Unless Ranil straightens his spine, this monster Pres will be his undoing over the next 18 months. First step – swear in SF and Range B as Ministers i8mmediately. Second step – tell Pres to stay out of governmental work. Third step – Impeach him if he does not change his ways.

    UNP,

You still gave in too much to Sirisena Remember, he has no balls, all dissolved, when the parliament was unconstitutionally dissolved

You should have stuck to your guns Remember Sirisena is the conspirator

Join with JVP and try to impeach Sirisena

Has Ranil given Hopper Sirisena a rope long enough to get him out of his own pit or just enough to hang himself? Let’s wait and see.
Hopper Sirisena will do well to remember Ranil’s rope to Thiruvengadam Velupillai Prabaharan, the cease fire agreement and other paraphernalia.

If Ranil smiled at Hopper Sirisena it didn’t mean Ranil was going to marry Sirisena.

        Native Vedda,

Sirsena, Mahinda and Ranil are all like a single mother with a kid, who wants to land a guy to take on the burden Did Sirisena bail Mahinda or was it Mahinda who baited Sirisena?

JVP says in parliament, some people fall while sitting, some while standing, and the falls do not hurt that much However, Sirisena took Mahinda, raised up in the air, and slammed him to the ground The the Supreme Court slammed both Sirisena and Mahinda to the ground

“Has Ranil given Hopper Sirisena a rope long enough to get him out of his own pit or just enough to hang himself?”

Didn’t Sirisena slam Ranil on the floor, and the Supreme Court saved his bones? If Ranil is smart, he will join with JVP and slam Sirisena on the ground and break his bones Sometimes, I get the feeling that both are marking time, until the next election

Sirisena is a wasted force, baggage, just like a single mother with a kid

        Never Date A Single Mother

Once Sirisena has married Ranil, we saw what he did The Supreme Court saved his ass He started to screw around with Mahinda, his former Man and other men.

“Has Ranil given Hopper Sirisena a rope long enough to get him out of his own pit or just enough to hang himself? Let’s wait and see.”

Sirisena tried to kill Ranil, after marrying him 3 years ago Now he a new boyfriend Mahinda his former husband.

Exposing How Women( Sirisena ) Manipulate Men ( Ranil and Mahinda). Enjoy!

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SddZvNQOuFw

There is no definitive list of techniques to how women ( Sirisena) manipulate men (Ranil and Mahinda)but you can see it in action. The case of Dalia Dippolito, caught hiring an assassin to kill her husband, produced really good footage of a woman in full manipulation mode. She was convinced that if she could get her husband physically close to her, she could blind him. And she’s right. As long as men ( Ranil and Mahinda)remain unaware of their vulnerability to female manipulation (Sirisena) they will continue to be victims to it.

The phenomenon of MGTOW (Men Going Their Own Way) is a good way to open your eyes. Feminism is bad but it’s only a symptom of the bigger problem: gynocentrism and man’s vulnerability to female charms.

Both Ranil and Mahinda are victims of Sirisena’s “Charms”

Will Sirisena Resign? Ask Ranil and Mahinda!

            Psycho the rapist

            Excerpts:
SOCRATES FINAL SPEECH CHOOSING DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR

THE MORAL OBLIGATION TO SPEAK THE TRUTH

Some one will say: Yes, Socrates, but cannot you hold your tongue, and then you may go into a foreign city, and no one will interfere with you? Now I have great difficulty in making you understand my answer to this. For if I tell you that to do as you say would be a disobedience to the God, and therefore that I cannot hold my tongue, you will not believe that I am serious; and if I say again that daily to discourse about virtue, and of those other things about which you hear me examining myself and others, is the greatest good of man, and that the unexamined life is not worth living, you are still less likely to believe me. Yet I say what is true, although a thing of which it is hard for me to persuade you. Also, I have never been accustomed to think that I deserve to suffer any harm. Had I money I might have estimated the offence at what I was able to pay, and not have been much the worse. But I have none, and therefore I must ask you to proportion the fine to my means. Well, perhaps I could afford a mina, and therefore I propose that penalty: Plato, Crito, Critobulus, and Apollodorus, my friends here, bid me say thirty minae, and they will be the sureties. Let thirty minae be the penalty; for which sum they will be ample security to you.

After scuttling their every move, shamelessly President Sirisena shouldn’t ask the UNP for a cabinet post, even though he is the executive president and head of cabinet. After his alining with MR, the opposite camp and carrying out his foul deeds, he should co-operate with them to run the government. He should act and behave like how President DB Wejitunge did in President Chandrika’s time, without upsetting the apple cart. Let them run the government, end of their term, go for the election, and let the people elect whoever they want. This is the only good option he has to regain some of the lost respect and credibility, else if he chooses to play to the MR & cabals, sure he is going to end up in huge mess unlike what he is already in.

Careful please. This guy is suffering from DEMENTIA which means memory disorders as well as impaired reasoning amongst many other symptoms. He may arrive after 10 AM, like he did last time to make Mr Ranil lose the auspicious time. In addition to DEMENTIA, he’s showing ACUTE RABIES SYMPTOMS too. Poor guy, he needs psychiatric and veterinarian treatments a.s.a.p !!

How can a mad man who staged a coup and violated the constitution keep the Police Department under his control? Instead he should be impeached at the earliest opportunity and then the Police should arrest him. Allowing this psychopath to continue as President is an insult to the people. Why does he want to retain control over the media? We don’t want to be the captive audience for his staged events where he lectures to the nation on political ethics and spins stories about plots to kill him.

The problem is Ranil will not take any legal action on New King. So he is free to go on splitting UNP and wedging between them, favoring one over the other, appointing one and firing one…. He actions seems to be Ranil is not good at running UNP, so he wants to manage the UNP for Ranil. It is UNP MPs have to pay for Ranil’s inactions. If Ranil had taken legal action on his illegal dismissal none of these might have happened.

      Mallaiyuran,
“If Ranil had taken legal action on his illegal dismissal none of these might have happened”.
If dismissal of Ranil was illegal, he should have gone to the SC but he did not go. Instead of doing that he asked A(Da)milaya to go to courts. Ranil was an illegal squatter in Temple Trees from the day he was terminated from PM post and swearing again. So he should be charged for misusing public property and funds. Jaathiya Vinashakarana Peramuna (JVP) and Civil Society Organizations are silent on this. But they are champions of ‘Yahapalanaya’. talking with forked tongues.

Who the hell wrote this 19th amendment with full of contradictory shit. One para says the President has these or those powers and then the next para says something against it or parliament has the same powers if approved with 2/3rd majority. Even learned SC judges took so long to understand and interpret a simple issue like who has the power to dissolve parliament. Even the answer is still a question for many until certain paragraphs are redrafted.
There are good parts of it like certain independent commissions, but the rest looks like a piece of garbage.
Just take the issue of frog jumping in Parliament: if an MP jumps to the other side, he should face a by election within a month. If the voters approve his/her decision, s/he could continue with the new side.
There are a lot of undemocratic garbage like this in the constitution and somebody should take immediate action to rectify the situation.

May be it is wrong to elect an ‘Achcharu’ (coalition) Government. All opposing forces opposing a strong political party join up to prevent the victory of the strong party and ‘stealing’ their due victory. Then after winning these strange bed fellows start fighting among each other.

Then many ugly things happen and each constituent party of the ruling side are preoccupied fighting from within and not governing. It becomes ripe time for corruption, bribery and outright theft to raise its ugly heads and many from within have made millions of money leaving country high and dry.

We saw this happen in the Achcharu Government of Maithripala Sirisena from 2015. Now he too has gone back to the former party he stole their due victory.

Sirisena, want to remind you that you have no power to interfere in the selection of the cabinet. Your bankrupt SLFP is not a partner of the coalition government anymore with the UNP who are standing tall and straight alone this time. You have no right to have any ministries under you as the UNP has learned a lesson previously where you interfered and obstructed the course of justice. This is a very serious breach of trust as well as abuse of power as well as a criminal act being an accomplice to corruption and murders by which you delayed and prevented the courts and CID from moving forward. The SOB that you are is now well accepted by the citizens of this country who have absolutely no respect for a scumbag slimy snake that you are and we do not want to see your ugly f…ing face or hear your f….ing voice ever again. We are prepared to dump shit at your doorstep at home if you f…ing try your nonsense once again by preventing RW to determine his ministers. You are a bloody ignorant axe weaving amuday wearing ignoramus moron who has no credibility left to be president of this country and as Kumar Welgama stated if you have a thread of decency or values left in your stinking body you should resign immediately you nincompoop and arsehole. We will be watching you very closely and you step out of line for one moment

True enough a cabinet is required but UNP’s priority should be to put pressure on the President using local and international resources to call a presidential election. Appaya has no credibility locally or internationally. The election commissioner has already said that there is nothing stopping the appaya calling one on or after Jan 9th.

Beyond the points UNP and TNA are citing from the constitution, the practicality after 19A is EP cannot align him with opposition, but he must be with ruling party. 1978 constitution position was EP is the government. Now EP is only part of the government. So now he cannot support the Opposition Party as he is a partner in the government with ruling party. Earlier, his political party alliance is immaterial. He was able to run the government with minority in the Parliament. 19A has taken off his ability to run a government with minority. Just because his party is minority, he cannot force a parliament election either.

In the NCM injunction judges said majority should have a free hand to run the government, without EP’s arbitrarily appointed impediments. 19A has created a new situation. DR. NJ seems to well ahead on understanding this than the rest. He argued EP’s 90% of the authorities in the 1978 Constitution is now transferred to PM and Councils. So after 19A situation is EP cannot associate him with opposition. Three things there:–1).He does not have the capacity to run a minority government. 2).He is only/and a partner in the government. 3).He cannot dissolve the parliament to ask for new mandate.

Apparently the current stalemate was not foresighted by the 19A draftsmen and thus they have not provided any remedy EP can use to release him from this deadlock. If EP is getting pressured from Opposition to favor them, only option available for him is, after 19A, he resigns from his party. The political party allegiance of the EP was a misty situation for 19A draftsmen. The reason for that is New King was not a party man in 2015 election, but only a CC. They couldn’t calculate the current revenging manners to become reality. Probably if NM was there he might have asked “Guys after 19A If a mad man comes as EP, how the opponent Party government going to function”.

People seem to be happy that a compromise is reached between the parliament and the law-breaking president.

But they don’t seem to bother that tolerating a lawless a political leader after another leads in lack of law and order in the state, which has been the case for 70 years.

Sri Lankans seem to be frogs in a boiling pot!

There are few serious issues to consider, who brought this mad man to the forefront. It was RW in the pretext of a common candidate. When he jolly well knew he cannot win on his own steam. Having brought him it was his sole responsibility to develop a working relationship with him. RW did not have the skills to work with a guy from the sticks in Polonaruwa. This is called consensus politics where two different parties from diverse background have to work together.
Also the major issue is about 55% of the population is still dependent on agriculture for their sustenance, what have RW done to these people. Nothing at all and he cannot expect them to vote for him. Unless he is capable of addressing these issues and stamping out corruption and bringing all the crooks to book, he is dead meat. He has been sleeping for three and half years and suddenly jolted into action by the mad Gamarala. Well he needs to listen to the social media, he may learn a few things and stop listening to to what he hears inside his head. Otherwise he will hand over the country by default to the wreckers.

After all these triumphs & sacrifices by pro democratic people to reinstate democracy in the country I feel pity for myself when I heard the prime minister compromised with the president over the ministerial portfolios & media institutions.

He also has no right to appoint Ravi Karunanayaka as a minister. It’s completely against people’s wish. MrWicramasingha never learns from mistakes & he never respects people’s wishes.
