Minister of Justice and Buddha Sasana, Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe has assured that the new Constitution will safeguard all religious leaders and will not leave room for anyone to criticize them even inside Parliament.
Speaking at an event held in Kottawa yesaterday, Rajapakshe pointed out that there had been instances when religious leaders including Buddhist monks have been criticized within Parliament, however as an opportunity was not given to them to respond to such criticism, it created a very unfair situation.
He also extended his apologies to Ven. Bellanwila Wimalarathne, after a member of parliament recently criticized him in parliament.
“I apologise for that statement made against Ven. Wimalarathne by a certain parliamentarian, who used his parliamentary privileges to criticize the monk, and as the monk was not given an opportunity to respond to such criticism, it created a very unfair situation. But under the new constitution, no religious leader in our country will be allowed to be criticised,” Rajapakshe declared.

Ridiculous fools. Nobody should be above criticism. The very reason that thugs in robes get away with so much is because people are reluctant to criticise them. Register all the sangha and weed out the corrupt monks. They do more damage to Buddhism than all the evangelists put together.

There even street mongers had been given power to attack former CJ on their contract.. rememeber the way former CJ Dr SB left her place .. with all the attacks being made by Rajapkshe goons.

Why do I get such bad vibes about this “constitution business?”
A “constitution” – especially Sri Lankan style – is not a panacea for all our ills or even any of our ills. If people don’t change, it’s just hogwash.
In the 70s Nigeria adopted the American constitution word for word; the whole shindig. They thought all they had to do was adopt the American constitution and they will be another America!
I dunno if this clown Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe should be in the parliament or join the circus.

You Idiot, minister. You are trying to make Religious Leaders Infallible, like the Pope. Let the religious leaders rebut the criticisms against them, just like the politicians do. Ban Religion, or have Separation of Religion and State.
Thomas Jefferson and Thomas Paine, where are you? You are needed in the Land of Native Veddah Aethho. Idiots are running the country now.

So, the people cannot criticize even the Idiotic Religuos leaders, because they are except from criticism.

The Buddhist monk in charge of the temple asked her to send the child to the temple and she sent him there because they were poor. There was no possibility for them to pay the money for tuition fees. That was the reason why they sent the boy to the temple school. When the child began to refuse going to the temple school so adamantly, grandmother had to look for the reason. It was then only that she discovered that the child who was sent to learn good behavior, ethics and Buddha’s Dharma from the monk had in fact been abused by the monk.

I did not expect this Minister of Justice and Buddha Sasana, Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe to be such an idiot.
It is tragic to see Buddhism being dragged down to such a low level by non-other than the members of the Buddhist clergy behaving like thugs. These Buddhist monks (hora ganayas or cheevaradharis) are exploiting the respect that the Buddhist society has for the saffron robed Sangha and not only misleading the gullible but also betraying Buddhism and insulting the Buddha.
If everybody remain as silent observers and do not criticise all the anti-Buddhist acts committed by the Buddhist monks, all the rouge Monks (hora ganayas or cheevaradharis) who are hijacking Buddhism with their anti-Buddhist activities and disrupting the peace in the country will happily increase their anti-Buddhist activities in the name of protecting Buddhism.
The Minister of Buddha Sasana should educate the Buddhist society to identify the difference between genuine Buddhist monks and rouge Monks (hora ganayas or cheevaradharis) instead of talking utter nonsense.

Thank you, we certainly need greater understanding between the various ethnic, religious and social groups, and we certainly don’t need hatred spread against any group.
However, this law appears not to safeguard the rights of groups, but seems to grant immunity to certain individuals the moment they designate themselves as “clergy” – ipso facto they become “religious leaders”. Does this mean that the various doings of Gnanasara and BBS, which included some time ago the forced circumcision of Vijitha Thero, cannot be denounced? And what about the one time Anglican Bishop Shantha Francis drawing his dead mother-in-law’s pension?
In our desire to promote harmony and peace, must we blind ourselves to the fact that even genuine religious leaders are human; apart from that, religious institutions are often the FIRST refuge of scoundrels, and this proposed clause in, of all places, the constitution will safeguard INDIVIDUALS who have violated the laws of the land!
What we need is real secularism in Public Life and Spirituality and piety in the Private Affairs of all citizens. One must respect religious beliefs and traditions, but must we safeguard individuals – first self-seeking politicians, now every religious humbug?

What happens when the Infallible Monks and Priests die?
Richard Dawkins: if I meet god when I die.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6iss-xq2-E
Evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins on his experience with Darwinism and why creationists “don’t know anything.”
TRANSCRIPTION:
I think we should look at the history of religion, be fascinated by it, just if you look at the history of art and so on. But I don’t think that religion has anything useful to teach us.
One of the main reasons why people are religious is because they are persuaded by the apparent design of living things and that’s completely destroyed by Darwin. If you actually read any book by a biologist about evolution, it’s hard to see how you could fail to be persuaded of it, the evidence is just absolutely pact. There is no doubt about it. It’s not a controversial issue. History is completely certain. It’s as certain as the fact that the earth and the other planets, orbit the sun.
More than 40% of the American population, if opinion polls to be believed, think that the world is less than 10,000 years old and that’s a shocking figure. It shows deep profound ignorance. It sounds very laudable to teach the controversy, to teach both theories. But there aren’t two theories, there is only one theory around, there is only one game in town as far as theory of science is concerned. Of course you get negative reactions from creationists, but who cares about creationists, they don’t know anything.
I think it was my father who first introduced me to Darwin and Evolution. I was immensely moved by it and it did start a rollercoaster in a way and then I started to become really quite antireligious after that. I went through a sort of middle ground of what you might call Deism. I think I gave up Christianity before I finally gave up the idea of a sort of creative designer of some kind.
Darwin made it possible to be an intellectually fulfilled atheist. Before that you could be an atheist, he was for example, but it was quite difficult because you had no good explanation for why living things look so well designed, Darwin provided that.
There are other reasons for being religious like moral reasons or people sometimes feel they have a personal relationship with God or with Jesus or with Mohammed or whatever it is and that kind of reason for being religious would not in itself be undermined by Darwinism, but it’s quite wrong to believe that science reduces humanity, that science somehow gives you a bleak, cold, empty, barren view of the universe and of life, quite the contrary, sounds as enriching and fulfilling.
What’s going to happen when I die, if I met god in the unlikely event after I died, I think the first thing I would say is well, which one are you? Are you Zeus? Are you Thor? Are you Baal? Are you Mithras? Are you Yahweh? Which god are you? And why did you take such great pains to conceal yourself and to hide away from us?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrcQAYS9JtY
Published on Jul 23, 2012
Christians often ask people like Dawkins, “What if God IS real, and you didn’t believe?” This is my exploration of how absurd that unlikely situation might look like, when Dawkins meets the God who has been either unable or unwilling to account for himself objectively.

When infallible monks and Priests die, I light crackers and give thanks to GOD.
I am sad when good, ordinary people die, because they are a scarce resource.
Here in Sri Lanka, our Infallible monks and priests simply want control over us ordinary mortals. They are hand in glove with politicians in the ‘power and control business’. On CNN he said what is Iraq?? He was going to wipe it off the map and in a month Exxon would be pumping oil out.
School teacher Obama first spoke of change then hope and put the world in a worse situation- the world lives in fear while the standard of living goes down. Remember generally 50% don’t vote because there is no confidence in anyone.
In Ceylon it became a fashion with the educated and especially the Jaffna Tamils to vote left but they never question how Stalin and Mao survived and carried out ethnic cleansing which Roosevelt was not aware of until weeks before his death.Truman bungled it and we are living the English pirates dream.
I don’t believe one moment Lanka can patch anything up for peace as they would only gag and kill.
You need outside force with a bang so that all ethnics can live sensibly and prosper. Who is going to do that? Not the present Democrats or GOP and we have seen both in action.
China and India have been tamed a bit and both have reserves so it would be interesting. i am all for as before 48 when it all worked- Calcutta>Madras Colombo administration. To hell with independence if some have to live in fear in their land of birth.

This man Wijedasa has not heard about secular democracy. His Modaya Ministry wants the Kandy’s Ayatollah Aanduwa for the Wild life Sanctuary Lankawe. Additionally he is working on the case of Avant Garde with Tilak. For that he is compensating Tilak resignation in the Cabinet.
The New Constitution drafting is to evade the criminal charges for the war crime. The talk of transitional Justice is to prop up the Sinhala Buddhist extremists’ agenda in Lankawe.
We know the game of the New Constitution. It is to reinforce the Article -9, remove the freedom expression and find out a way to toughen the PTA. Recently his cabinet drafted a new bill to reintroduce the PTA with the name of “Hate speech Prevention”

a court of law, cannot be criticised for his behaviour. Will he issue instructions to the Judges not to prosecute such leaders in the future and leading newspapers warned not to comment when ISIS religious leaders issue satwas to kill world leaders.
PM Ranil should rein in the minister and issue a statement to the
press contradicting minister’s statement with an apology and ensure
that no body is above the law.

Wijedasa Rajapaksa is now very jealousy of Minister Sarath Fonseka.
Wijedasa attempted to bock that appointment but he horrendously failed.
Wijedasa is also a one of the henchmen of Corrupted Rajapaksa group.
This man should be brought to justice even though he is a Minister of Justice.

Do we need yet another reason for the nation to get rid of this pestilence who has distinguished himself only by feathering his own nest, politically and otherwise?
What’s next? A special dispensation from this man for Buddhist monks to have harems and to make any mention of it a criminal offence?
“Unuth ekai, munuth ekai.”

money makes the world spin- He is defending common ground.
It’s not to cover pedophiles or murder but the commissions on international development contracts. It is the point of origin to get the blessing then the politician etc.
