President Gotabaya Rajapaksa Must Demonstrate Respect For Human Rights & Address Impunity: ICJ

Sri Lanka’s newly elected president, Gotabaya Rajapaksa and his government must demonstrate that they will uphold human rights and rule of law, and ensure that Sri Lanka sustains its international obligations and commitments to justice and accountability, said the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) today.

Gotabaya

Gotabaya Rajapaksa faces credible allegations of involvement in war crimes and crimes against humanity that took place during the country’s armed conflict.

“The election of Gotabaya Rajapaksa, after a highly polarizing campaign, has alarmed human rights defenders in Sri Lanka and abroad, who have little reason to believe that someone facing such serious allegations of perpetrating human rights violations can be relied upon to meet the country’s obligations under international law,” said Frederick Rawski, ICJ Asia Pacific Director.

Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who won the presidency with 52.25% of votes, served as Sri Lanka’s Secretary of the Ministry of Defence from 2005 to 2015 during the tenure of his brother Mahinda Rajapaksa, at the height of the armed conflict against the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).

Both the military and LTTE perpetrated war crimes and gross human rights violations during the conflict, and particularly during its bloody final stages. As Defence Secretary, Gotabaya was accused of ordering the killing of surrendering LTTE fighters, ordering strikes on civilians and hospitals, and authorizing attacks on human rights defenders.

International condemnation of atrocities committed during the conflict led to the UN Human Rights Council demanding that the Sri Lankan government commit to a process of transitional justice, in view of the systematic failures of accountability mechanisms in Sri Lanka in the past, as documented by the ICJ in its submission to the Human Rights Council, and others. Despite commitments from the Sri Lankan government, the transitional justice process has effectively stalled and impunity has prevailed.

“The ICJ is deeply concerned that even the limited strides made over the past five years in Sri Lanka on transitional justice, positive constitutional amendments and institutional reform will be reversed,” said Rawski.

The ICJ urged the Government to deliver on its commitment to the transitional justice process, including by holding those responsible for human rights violations and abuses accountable, and complying with the obligations set out in United Nations Human Rights Council Resolutions 30/1, 34/1 and 40/1. God’s mills started to grind slowly.
Another Charles Taylor or Milosevic in the name of Gotabya preparing himself to be seated in front of ICJ panel of Judges in The Hague. There he cannot Send Gnansara to disrupt the proceeding or Ali Sabry to submit fake documents.
Good he was elected as a president of this Banana Republic or he will never face justice for the crimes he committed varying from Cold blooded murders to killing field of innocent lives. I saw the whole bunch of war criminals in one platform his swearing in ceremony.
What a disgrace for Ruwanweli Saya!!!!

Pigs might fly if you guys wait the kind of RASCAL racial extremist leaders to show some respect to HUMAN RIGHTs.

I think the election just held in srilanka was to figure out how many in the country would respect civilized and dignity way of life against those extremists, racial thought bearers, that shortly after 21 April 2019- eater sundy bombing, inflicted riots across the country, making the MUSLIM srilankens that anxious for their lives.
      :
If i had been born a muslim family the situation would have been the same.
      :
That Dr SAPI saga was spearheaded by a MONK called athana methana natana rathana, but experts stayed mum, because they knew, their efforts would not have been successful even if they tried to show the untruths about the SAGA.

All in all, RACISTS succeeded but Democrats, dignified people and their representatives experienced their defeats. Extremists and their leaders I happened to watch moving close to the president elect.
I think WORLD should put bombs to RAJAAKSHE RASCALS if we at all see a better future for all srilankens under one umbrella.

Human rights hypocrisy must be called! Why did not US CIA and govt. prosecute its own US citizen Gota for the last 10 years for war crimes?
Thant god the Anuradhapura inauguration indicates the end of the US MCC Colombo- Tincomalee Corridor fantasy and the fake Human Rights of the West that is looting the people of the global south and Indian Ocean.
Hope Gota will ensure a proper inquiry on the Easter Carnage come out with the Truth about the foreign hands behind the Easter Sunday carnage that was claimed by US-Saudi owned ISIS and AL Bagdadi

Now he must make national unity a priority and reach out to Tamil and Muslim minorities to ensure that the US does not succeed in its project to Talibanize Sri Lanka and cause a Buddhist-Mulsim war, so that SOFA and US military bases can be setup in Sri Lanka to fight the American dirty wars against China and Iran in the Indian Ocean. US is busy de-stablizing so many countries in the world and has become a Rogue State because it is no longer a Superpower and Asia leads the world now.

I have now become somewhat cynical. I hate HUMAN BEINGs to some extent since I cant make my mind up to see that LOOTERs and MURDERers are back to power by an election.
I think even if our high literacy rates, people are no different to that low-literacy countries such Pakistan.
In Pakistan, there had been leaders who looted the state several times consecutive manner, but got elected by the people every other 5 years or so: But this went on until Mr Imran Khan came into power. It took him that long in that fight, but once he is in place today, things seem to be transparent and less corrupt. He has set his own examples not being corrupted.
The very same, should be the case with lankens dominated by uneducated masses in this country.
The manner, Mahinda Rajapakshe got back to power is beyond my bearing. Not just looting, but hoodwinking or various nature is seen yet in his person. He does not care about the destitute who earns not even 2 dollars a day but his big tamashas and abusive nature of wastages ranging to all ends and edges.
        :
We dont believe miracles, but they can happen, if SENSE would come back to Rajakshes, since we have now fully lost…… democrats have no voice in srilanka today.
        :
And the man who is appointed as the Defence secretary is a record breaker being very inhuman. Stafford institute whose ownship is under them have treated the innocient students in all untold manner.
One Dr SOMEONE from colombo area publicly protested against the inhuman behaviour of the thugs.
        :
And that Sarath WEERASEKARA according President SIRISENA is the mann who architected KANDY riots against MUSLIM SRILANKENS to show UNHRC that the kind of clashes are part and parcel of srilankens. He should be hung by his balls before the nation, becuas ehte high crimes the kind of men committed deliberately are public secret.

Just after the WW2 was ended, Germany brought reforms to their constitutions as no other nations did.
      :
Likewise we need a constitution to respect peoples needs for the present and future.
      :
I wondered myself by having read the german constitution, and its reforms sofar, every single provicions against crime or potential crimes are written in there. Today, with IT being applicable everywhere, why cant we properly set a good constitution for all srilankens?
      .
We have enough world recoganized constitutional analyst and architects. We also can rely on developed nations such as Swiss, UK, Canada, Australia and Germany if we really want to work on that. Rajakshes please the name of this nation, come to a consensus not just pleasing your bums only…. for rebuilding this nation.
      :
Else, you guys would be exploded into pieces in the days to come for sure, since we cant bear the pressure being exercised on us as dignified people.

Babalathappu, first list what are the rights that Tamils or Muslims do not have but the Sinhalese do. That is impossible isn’t it? Is it a human right violation to have a separate personal law for the Muslims allowing them to marry children, keep four wives and take away even a basic right as initiating a divorce or signing a marriage certificate from women? Of course they are violations of the rights of Muslim children and women? Is it a human right violation for only Vellalas to own land in the Jaffna peninsula and keep the low cast Tamils landless subsistence farmers, yes of course it is a human right violation against the Tamil so called lower cast people. So yes let us remove all those rights violation in a new constitution, and if you can come p with single right that the minorities lack but majority have let me know.

          Wannihami,
These are just few statements, but you and I know it very well that they dont marry 5 times. We the sinhalaya yet today discriminate african people saying that they are canibalists etc… all these predujices are common to our sinhala people. After leaving home country for Europe only I got to know all these.
Today even our sinhalaya get married 5 or more calling that they dont even need to marry but could have lot s spare wheels.
Just imagine, if you were not reborn, not just few months ago, our extremists, racists inflicted riots on poor innocient Muslims. I know few of them and their relatives in SL, even if I am a sinahalya living in Europe.
Was that right ballige putha Rajakshe to go on hunting minority people that way ? If I am very honest, i would kill that Madhumadawa or Gonathadipila to haveworked on those riots by which another few hundreds of innocient srilankans (though muslims, tamils or others by their origin) got hurt. We are all made out of bones and flesh so as the westerners that let enjoy all as equal. I know there are miniorities living in Germany, France, Uk, Switzerland or any other countries, but they dont get treated the way our minorities do yet today. We should all be ashamed, even after 30 long year war, which brought us that backward, our people are still as that racial and extremists.
They are all suffering from delusion of grandeur for some reasons. I really dont know why we the sinhalaya should always be kept above while other minorities let not chance to enjoy equal rights as srilankens.
I have no doubt, if people were intelligent, Gota or the like men would have become the leaders to represent us.
The election held few days ago was and selection between two groups. That are.. civlized dignified people and uncivilized racial extremists idiots.

RE: President Gotabaya Rajapaksa Must Demonstrate Respect For Human Rights & Address Impunity: ICJ

Yes, he has demonstrated several times in the past, “Respect For Human Rights ” and do you want him to demonstrate the same respect in the future? The measured mean IQ of the populace is 79.

It was not human rights that got him elected. It was Racism , Terrorism and the philicity for corruption by the voters. Just look at the Sri Lankan history since independence in 1948.

It is useless blaming only the perpetrators of human rights violations. The government which came into power promising action against the violators and subsequently failing to take any action is also to be blamed equally or more. This includes the UN and almost all the western countries. India is not above board in these violations.

The bigger fight is against the rise of Fascism in Sri Lanka if you UNP lot think having your stupid Internal power struggles takes prominence over standing against Fascism you don’t deserve to be in the UNP…

        :
        3) The very same tactics were used by NAZI gERMANY then, HITLER to be made as their leader.
And our people in general would not consider the FACTs but gossips. Either they are born stupid or easily manipulative.
Instead of accusing SIRISENA, they attacked further RW, even if the evidence was crystal clear that BALLIGE PUTHA SIRISENA to have ignored the NATIONAL security festated the wound.

Ruwanveli Seya is a great symbol of victory built in the 2nd century BC. President-elect Gotabaya Rajapaksa chose this venue to tell the world in no uncertain terms that, though Sri Lanka is a small nation, it doesn’t tolerate foreign invasions that may come in the form of interventions or/and interference.
King Dutugamunu defeated the invader king Elara from South India and built this religious symbol to serve two purposes.
First is to venerate the Buddha and place his relics in the Stupa.
Second is to tell invaders and coup planners that, no matter what and how long it takes, such invasions and coups will be defeated.
There is a new political culture emerging in South Asia. Let’s be part of it by working for it.

      • 3

        Richmond Peiris;
It is more appropriate to Practise what the Buddha Taught, than ‘Build a Religious Symbol’ to Place His ‘Relics’ in a Stupa!

        • 1
          0

          Rationalist,
We need both because both practicing and venerating of symbols act reciprocally for Buddhists to achieve the ultimate target.
It is like the national flag; the flag depicts a symbol (or a set of symbols) but what is indicated by those symbols is interpreted somewhere else like in the constitution, traditions, beliefs, etc.
          Thank you.

Enough of this human Rights doublespeak!

What is the ICJ doing about the UK-US occupation and violation of the rights of people of the Chagos Islands with the hideous CIA black site and military base Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean?

The International Court of Justice has ruled that UK-US occpation of Chaogs is a violation of international law and the people of Chagos have right to return home.

      Dodo you Dolt,
This is not about what other countries do or don’t do. Other countries that violate rights with impunity and get away are influential or have the ammo to fight against these HR organizations. Unlike those heavy weights like Israel, Saudi, China or USA, Sri Lanka is a shit hole. With Gotler at the helm, our HR track record will become worse. Therefore, this is not about other countries. This is about us and this Gotler regime that will commit the same mistakes as in the past. This is why these watchdogs are warning early at this newly elected regime knowing of their gory past! do you understand this you bloody dolt?

  • 6
    2

I believe that the accusations of HR violation against GoRa, if no made with care, can work for his advantage now on. That is b’cos a vast majority of voters S/B voters has rejected the charges outright. Therefore, the inevitable renewed pressure coming most likely from Tamil diaspora & a minority of liberals at home can easily be explained as a product of Tamil divisionism and unpatriotic NGO s. This will be a political bonanza for GoRa supporters (media) exploit the race card in order to keep the political base of SLPP on toes – a tactic Trum is using to keep his republican base attached to him despite his unethical behaviors.

From now on, GoRa’s HR record has to be watched not mainly on his past record, but on how he would let justice system proceed on charges currently in court and under investigation. It is very likely that He will try to stay away from White Van Culture as much as possible. The period of rehabilitation effort will last one full year to 18 months but once the financial reality sets in barring his election promises, the unhappy voters will put his patience to serious tests. Only then will the voters can be convinced of the true colors of “bipolar Syndrome”.

Can the American government, for a start, please release to the people of Sri Lanka a document showing that Gota had ceased to be an American Citizen at the time nominations were accepted – 7th October, 2019, wasn’t it?
    .
Failing that, will they then tell us that one of their citizens is now our President. This, surely, is a very important issue.
    .
The International Observers are leaving tomorrow, aren’t they? You will be right to report a peaceful poll (although there are reports of Sinhala-Muslim violence in Hambantota, with one Sinhalese man killed – if so, the backlash will claim at least ten Muslim lives).
    .
What the Foreign Election Monitors must do is not report on how quiet everything was, but they must meet all Three Elections Commissioners (Deshapriya, Abeysekera, Hoole) and see whether all three were happy with the Gota citizenship thing.
    .

        Dear Mr Sinhalaman,
        .
There is one another issue which I ve been seeking for clarity from you.
        :
Once they POHOTTUWA candidates took their membership in Pohottuwa, each and everyone will have to be non-SLFPers right ?:
        :
So tell me how would they now sit in the caretaker parliament which will be called in next days. Do they have any legitimate right to sit as parliamentarians since each of them was elected by the people as SLFPrs right ?:
        :
This was what former President CBK was stressing in a public meeting few weeks ago. She confirmed, once you took over the membership of an another party, the membership to current PARTY will automotically be considered as ” no longer valid”:
        :
Please READERS, this point is very important and they cant constitutionally continue in parliament further right ?
Those criminals that once demolished the supreme parliament now have to represent the very same folk as ruling parliamentarians ? valid only to a banana republic of lanken style only right ?
Entire world is watching at us Are we all this much stupid ? Srilankens have lost their image, maintained by our past good leaders, by today.

Simon, you flatter me by making me feel an authority, which I’m not.
          .
The vote for Pohottuwa was so overwhelming, that I don’t think that the great effort made by CBK and Kumara Welgama can succeed. Even when addressing us on Youtube, Chandrika was saying that it was a joke that a guy like Dayasiri Jayasekera, who had jumped parties so many times, was trying to sack her.
          .
Given the mandate, and given that Sirisena and all this disreputable rabble are with the Pohottuwa people, they will likely succeed in taking over the SLFP mantle. My heart is with you, but one has to face realities. This was not an election that Gota should have won so easily, but what can we now do?
          .
The majority prevails; the rights of the weak and of minorities ought to be respected, but if they are not, how can they resist?
          .
          I wrote this article:
          .
          https://www.colombotelegraph.com/index.php/two-categories-of-presidential-candidates/
          .
It was a bit incoherent, and I’ve had to elucidate some things. Simon, you’ve said something kind to me there, but others may not know that. If you scroll to the bottom you will find my cogitations on why this was a rout, and not just a loss. It wouldn’t be fair by CT for me to say the same things again.
          .
You probably sought my views here because I may bungle, but I’m not going to indulge in political doublespeak. We are all non-politicians whose desire is to select for ourselves leaders who will make this a peaceful and happy country.
          .
Now, I’ve got to respond to a query there. It’ll be open for three days more.

            Thanks, Sinhala Man.
I try my best to let that go through my head, but I still feel that Gota and MR will face it sooner than later. With all various allegations on various high crimes them to allow lead this nation is no means acceptable to me. Whoever whatever being said and done, i do belive their crimes for which allegations are levelled at them, are not untruths. Now people tend to believe otherway around going by the mandate gotten by gotler. But it was the media mafia brought them back as leaders. In coming days, the abusive family rule will ruin us. I am ashemed to call me SRILANKEN today. Good that i dont live in that shit hole.
Please you take care of yourself. You made all effort to educate people and all that brought nothing.
            Greetings from COLD Germany(Berlin)

          Simon
I, too, have been wondering about this, & thought that all the MPs who had become SLPPers should have had to quit Parliament & bye elections been held.
If everything is now going to be by so-called ‘mandates” then what’s the use of law & constitutions?

          • 0
            0

I think they dont care about any kind of legal bound paragraphs so long grasseaters elected them.
            :
That fits well to banana republic. Actullay Ballige Putha Rajaakhes should long ago be expelled from SLFP – going back ot that 52 day fake govt. There too, loudly and publicly they became SLPPers. SLFP constitution clearly states, if anyone takes over the membership of another party, his or her membership should become invalid automatically. None of these were considered as should have taken to consideration, but UPFA men stayed as if they had been fed with Kirimati…. unitl President SIRISENA louded it at the end, which was 2 months ago last PE, … that MR came to him and begged to protect him further as SLFPer… these are in web… theise are source data for any provable court case. But in our NAZI land nothings seems to work in compliance with the law and order.

That can only damage your health.

        SM,
I dont think even if any foreign monitors were there, that helped anyone in the aftermath of an election.
They just go and present to be seen and monitors.
        :
See, in our place, if those monitors were there for a period of month ahead of the elections, they should have monitored and blocked various illegal issues and handlings carried out by Rajaakshes goons. Or not ?:
Americans alone are hypocrites.. not to have mediated in lanken dispute against Gotler being an american citizen.
        :
SC will have to bring all the investigations one behind the other, to prove the nation, that Gotler is free man.
I think alone the nomination him being Presidential candidate would legally be allowed if such persons were coming from Europian COUNTRIES. But the big holes in lanken legal system and the JANAPBALAYA let him in.

          Dear Buramphisincho,
          .
Here’s something that may really surprise you.
          .
This man Hoole is no ordinary elections guy. Just look at the report that he produced on the Presidential Election in the Maldives last year:
          .
          https://www.colombotelegraph.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Report-of-the-Sri-Lankan-Observer-Mission-to-the-Maldivian-Presidential-Election-of-23-Sept.-2018.pdf
          .
It is embedded in this article:
          .
          https://www.colombotelegraph.com/index.php/the-maldivian-parliamentary-elections-2019-where-a-happy-result-can-be-predicted/
          .
I think that the work he put in just before the election took place made a difference. Reading that report should make us all proud of being Sri Lankans!

            SINHALA Man;
I KNOW YOU HAD already ADDED THIS TO US FEW MONTHS AGO .
            :
I respect Mr Hoole but he has no that much of authority so long that talkative Wachalaya Deshapriya is there.
            :
I question yet today, as to why MACO was unable to block BALLIPUTHA RAJAPAKSHE from becoming PE nominee ?
            – his profile is full of high crime allegations
            – his identity is not real
            – his citizenship issue is not clean
            – after becoming a lanken, how he became as such is beyond questionable.. all the documents are reported to have gone missing.

What is worth of your Mr HOOLE (a friend of yours) to have let go- if his mediation failed to block the bugger from contesting ?

‘Very soon we will not even be allowed to post comments like these.’

Panini, I better get this joke in quickly then. It is from Mrs B’s era, a time of queues and food shortages.

A woman goes into a shop and asks “Don’t you have any milk powder?”
The shopkeeper replies “We are the shop that has no bread, the shop that has no milk powder is across the street”

        Yes, a good one!
        .
By the way, EA, you use a pseudonym, so do I.
        .
I have no idea, whatever, as to who you are.
        .
How is it that you address me as Panini? Who is that?
        .
Well, the truth is that it does happen to be my first name.
        .
But that is a strange name for a Sri Lankan. True, but my father was a primary teacher who died in 1963, before computers were even thought of. Now look at this:
        .
        https://medium.com/@tomgoldenberg/sanskrit-the-first-programming-language-d8647753217f
        .
Dear EA, yours was a very good joke to repeat, but nothing that either of us has said is important. However, all that Hoole is saying is very important. It would be good for readers to keep eyes and ears open for all that comes from him – remembering always that he has a brother – also good, great and honest – very different from him in temperament and general conduct.

Dear Sinhala_Man, I have some useful information for you. The first computer resembling today’s modern machines was the Analytical Engine, a device conceived and designed by British mathematician Charles Babbage between 1833 and 1871. (I googled!)

          • 2
            0

            Many thanks, Thappu.
            .
Yes, I’ve also googled, and discovered the Wikipedia entry:
            .
            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Babbage
            .
What is so refreshing about your response is your enthusiasm. The thirst for knowledge, and the desire to share it. This is the spirit in which one has to engage in any sort of study.
            .
The name of Babbage was somewhere in the recesses of my mind. What we are doing here is recognising how many things have to come together for progress, and how important it is to co-operate, rather than compete.
            .
Of course, in the time of Babbage, there was no electricity. Well, again, not electric current as we now know it. I think (off the cuff, instead of googling), computers came into certain homes around 1970 – I mean into the houses of non-scientists. I bought my first in Oman in 1989. Two 5.25 inch floppy diskettes, an amber monitor, and a dot matrix printer. No Internet connection was thought of even. The make was Hyundai, and the cost, when converted to Sri Lankan rupees, then was about 65,000/=. So much cheaper now!
            .
Provision of computers dominates this article of mine which is still receiving comments:
            .
            https://www.colombotelegraph.com/index.php/two-categories-of-presidential-candidates/
            .
Thappu, you’ve actually seen what I said there, and made a comment, so this is for any others. I was trying to highlight how important it is to keep in mind the users of these marvels.
            .
            Thanks again, Thappu.

Gradually it gets clearer that there is more to all this than meets the eye. We have to be able to read, and work out the implications of little report like this:
      .
      http://www.island.lk/index.php?page_cat=article-details&page=article-details&code_title=214025
      .
So, not even the seemingly brash Hoole has to choose his word carefully. Many have been asking me why he didn’t resign all these days when it was clear that there are things that are not quite right.
      .
One, there is fear for his own life.
      .
Two, he would be replaced by a sycophant.
      .
Nothing of what I have said is important. Let all that you have read here direct you to that little news item. That is significant.
      .
      Very significant.

That is for sure Mr Sinhala Man: There is a saying among science learners what black is not black. And what the human being has discovered sofar could be as smaller as a drop of the ozean. Meaning, our knowlege based on any subject is still not at all much.

Although I wanted to write this sentence,
        .
“So, even the seemingly brash Hoole has to choose his word carefully.”

I ended up putting in the word “not” to completely change the meaning of the sentence.

May Gota Rajapukse be showered with the blessings from Karuna, former LTTE leader-East- the brute more brutal than Prabakaran…………….

……..Karuna killed 600 Sinhalese Policemen in cold blood …..
    ………………….
………Gota Rakapukse rewarded this LTTE butcher with a ministerial post for killing Sinhalese policemen, bombing the central bank, attacking our holy city – Anuradhapura and murdering innocent Buddhist monks in Aranthalawa.

GoTa Rajapukse will do anything to grab power and hold on to it to perpetuate Madamulana reign for the next 40 years.

It is this same GoTa Rajapukse who manufactured a fake passport for LTTE murderer Karuna to travel to UK seeking asylum.

…….Gota Rajapukse has a record; of course an obnoxious record of heinous crimes committed on the soils of Sri Lanka.

……..Will Mahanama be reborn to rewrite a new Mahavamsa?

God bless those Sinhala Buddhists who make a known murderer The President of Sri Lanka….

Maharage, man you said it better than anyone else. This is the same question I have been asking racists among the Sinhalese who crow about LTTE atrocities and support Rajapaksas. There is not a single leader in the history of SL that has supported murderers from the LTTE so much than the Rajapaksa filth. Not only Karuna, but KP Pathmanathan who supplied weapons to the LTTE which killed people, soldiers and others in the hundreds of thousands is protected by the rajapaksas.

I thought ex President Rajapakasa asked Mr Sampathar also to pick a Senior Minister Post after Mr Pirahaparan said Bye in Nanthikdal.

I know Mr Sampathar used to call them ” My Boys” … Right..

And in turn Mr Pirahaparan gave squadrons of the Boys to accompany Mr Sampathar and his ” Team” to do canvassing in every village in the North and the East to establish the TNA as the main brand.

Mr Sampthar was so powerful then , that He demanded Rajapaksa to leave even the Muslims to him…

          Dear Native,

The Lesson I learned is .. this 2500 year old Country can not be partitioned by a few Interest Groups ,as long as the great majority of the inhabitants who are the Sinhala people both Buddhist and Catholics stick together and speak with one voice..

” this 2500 year old Country can not be partitioned by a few Interest Groups ,”

You are right we should not let it happen. That is why we must stop these Interest Groups from gaining absolute power and abuse it absolutely. Lets stop clan (154) taking over the entire country. First step in the right direction, stop conversion among the Sinhalese and Buddhist into Sinhala/Buddhist fascists.

“stick together and speak with one voice.”

            You mean HEIL GOTA! HEIL,
            accompanied with Gotagruß (gota salute)
EIN VOLK, EIN REICH, EIN FÜHRER!
[ONE PEOPLE, ONE REALM, ONE LEADER!]

              Dear Native,

This is a beautiful result for the great majority, for several reasons, besides getting Nandasena as their President.plus what I have already mentioned.

              Here they are

              * Our Dalits put the Country before KK’s Freebees. from the UNP.
              * Muslims and Tamils even in combination, can not override the Voice of a united Majority Community..
              * UNP’s good old days where they could throw some crumbs at the Dalits and carry on on their merry ways to look after themselves and their moneyed mates ,are well and truly over.
              * Mud Throwing has become the Forte of the UNP.
              * The great majority who are Dalits have shown that they may bot have Money but they have Quality.
              * Finallay the Elite, Anglican and Vellala domination of the UNP has been broken.
which even Keselwatta Kid’s dear Old Dad couldn’t do even with the Presidency under his belt.-

Can’t wait for the next Election to watch how Dr Ranil Faction fights with the Keselwatta Kid Faction ?.

Based on the Green Map which looks like a mirror image of the Eelaam Map,Dr Ranil Faction will clean sweep the North and the East in the areas which the TNA and the Wahabi Parties allow Dr Ranil to contest.

And Galleon Ravi will ensure Dr Ranil Faction also will score Colombo North , South and Central..

As for our brave brave loser KK, he will have his work cut in the South.

And will be fighting with the JVP Princes Boys to retain the 5th Place..

We true Sri lankans cannot forget or forgive what did they do during the period of 2005 and 2009. It is not about what US and UK did to other countries, it is about that they did to our people, our rule of law, our justice system our brothers, sisters and our children. It is about conscience, it is about our humanity, our civilisation, our religious teachings. It is sad that majority off Buddhist Sinhalese of this country trapped into the fake patriotic image and propaganda of one family. Patriotism is about you love children, not about you love only your child and deny the rights of other children.

GR has stated not to question the past & told the international community in no uncertain terms that SL’s independence & sovereignty is to be respected. Maybe the CIA can blackmail GR to be its puppet (after all he has pledged allegiance to US when he became a citizen of that country) but as long as we have the Chinese loan shark as our friend, we can show 2 fingers to the rest of the world, including the ICJ (one can ask the question, ‘who is ICJ?’)

If we are up to our nose in Chinese debt, we can be a Chinese colony like Hong Kong & Tibet with a Beijing elected President for life.

This may have happened 10 yrs ago when the geo-politics were favoring Chinese.

Now., with a stronger Modi in Hindustan and Trump in uncle Sam., it will be really hard for GoRa to do a MaRa did with Chinese in 2010-2015, under Xi China is the new enemy of the western world.

It will be really interesting how GoRa gonna manage the election promises and then pay back the international lenders.

It is sad that in this country a moderate, decent, educated man like Sajith has no chance but a born serial killer, money launderer, downright racist gamaya bugger with zero education has all the chance. Sri Lanka say good bye to democratic elections in the future……you will never see another election ever!!!! The main cause of this disaster are two useless rotters………..Ranil and Sirisena. Ranil also ruined Sajith’s chance of becoming a president. All hope is lost and this country will go back to stone age soon.

Ranil seems to be universally hated by all. And yet there he is! An evergreen figure who seems to enjoy top political positions and perks decade after decade. I wont be surprised if he is still alive at the age of 150 as the UNP leader!

Didn’t the UNP Heavy and on of the most powerful Ministers Mr Ravi Karunanayaka publicly declared that Premadasa Jr did not pass his OLs.

And demanded in front of the Media Scrums many times, that Premadasa Jr bring his Ppaers including the Degree from London School of Economics to the UNP CC at Srikotha?..

I know most of that 7 Million who didn’t vote for Preme wouldn’t know wheer the London School Of Economic is lettb alone worry about his Certificate.

But the real UNP in the Country bar North and East certainly would have taken those Educational Qualifications seriously , because good Education is their ..forte,,

          Dear Native,

What happened to the Real Field Marshall?.

Thank God those 7 Million saved Nadaseana ‘s dear Life.

Otherwise Nande would have been hanging on the Timber in a Carlton Window.
That is if Keselwatta Kid romped in with that massive Vote of Sampathar and Sivajilingam..

          Tell me Native,
What is that big Poo Fight in Dr Ranil’s Camp?.

Now Dr Harsha writes to Nandaseana pleading to save his Ambulance Fleet.
Not sure whether Dr Harsha is having a go at Nandasena about his experience with White Van Fleet..

Hesbolla tried to sneak in to greet Nandasena.

And even Dr Rajitha is seeking appointments to meet Nandasena .
Wonder whether Dr Rajitha is offering young Chatura also for a Cabinet Post..

“Hesbolla tried to sneak in to greet Nandasena.”

Don’t be stupid, according to a senior Indian reporter/analysts what Sivajilingam, C V Wigneshwaran, …………… did during the elections was indeed helping Gota’s election campaign. So did Hizbullah. Immediately after the results were out Wigneshwaran congratulated the newly elected Former National Hangman.

By the way is EPDP leader Douglas happy about Gota’s winning?
He was upset with Gota when EPDP cardres were disarmed by Gota’s goons.

What is the average age of prominent leaders of this island?
It must be 75, excluding Wimal Windbag Weerawansa.

The biggest rascal produced by Sri Lanka is Ranil Wickramasinghe.

The stench and perversions he brought to the UNP and the country will end not only with the total rejection by the voter but also by himself ignoring all decency and honesty and standing utterly naked in front of history as a curse that happened to this country.

Sri Lanka gave these jurists more than 4 years to prosecute the alleged criminals but they failed to do so. Now the time has passed and let’s respect the decision made by democratic Sri Lanka to go forward. Those learned jurists, instead of making statements here and there, can come to SL and discuss the allegations and related matters with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
Just because Sri Lanka is a small country please don’t try to play games. That could back-fire and the shots can be devastating!

How will Gota react when Gnanasara Thero is warned or punished by Court and how will his reaction be regarding the Neeraviyadt Pillaiyar temple case. Will he demonstrate due respect for human rights. I hope he will not interfere the independence of judiciary like his brother Mahinda Rajapakse.
More dramas to be staged. Let us wait & watch.

History shows the Rajapaksa’s are incapable of doing the right thing to demonstrate that they will uphold human rights and rule of law, and ensure that Sri Lanka sustains its international obligations and commitments to justice and accountability.
They have yet to answer to the war crimes, missing citizens, and many unsolved murders, and they have consistently shown indifference to those demanding answers to human rights abuses, and the rule of law and chances are we will have more of the same.

International commision of jurists? who are these people?
Had there been any accountability or the so called international community had acted correctly, perhaps this man may have been in jail. Here they are now doing lip service to human rights and so called ‘transitional justice’. We will hear more of their human rights talk as long as Rajapakses remain within the Dragon’s arm.

I am certain that President Gothabya during the period as a Citizen of the US would have to experience the feeling of Racism in the US. He would have come to know how the minority population in the US feels and treated by the white population. Now that he has returned to Sri Lank is he going to change his racial attitude and become liberal-minded in treating the minority population

Mr Frederick seems to have panicked to issue this Yellow Card even before the Game has started..

I don’t think Mr Fredericks and his ICJ Team have to sweat over wondering whether the new Prez in Lankawe will interfere with their Good Work..

I am sure Prez Nandasena promised in his spiel at the Holy City , the old King’s Capital, that he is going to obey all those UN demands on Good Governance, which Dr Ranil, Mr Mangala , Mr Sampathra and Mr Abraham negotiated and imposed on us in January 2015.

I know Prez Nandasena went to Office yesterday in the Port City,

He was outside with the Army Band playing Nan Mo Na Mo and the Galle Face Rd still open with our Dalits in CTB buses peeping out to see what was going on there..

    I was flabbergasted.
WhenDr Rani and his Prez mate did that sort of thing . the whole Road was blocked from Bambapitiya to Mutuwal..
That his how they respected Human Rights.

Anyway without digressing, Nandasen seems to be in a hurry to fix the more pressing needs of the 7 Million . like how to prevent them going into RECESSION in 2020, with the growth down in the Dumps at 1,6 at present.

Nandasen has already planned to have 15 , just 15 only Ministry to fix the issues.

Even the UNP Senior and Dr Ranil’s Best Minister Dr Rajitha and ex Governor of the East Hesbolla also were seen rushing to meet and greet Nandsena yesterday,,

I am sure one of them will remind this new ultimatum from the ICJ too, at some stage to include in Nandesna;s Priority List..
Because they were closely involved in the previous Administration which never got any warnings let alone Yellow Cards from those International Bodies….

“Nandasen has already planned to have 15 , just 15 only Ministry to fix the issues.”

What about the real president Mahinda?
He might need another two hundred as a consequence of horse trading.

Nandasena seems to be shadowed by two minders, one is the single handed General Kamal Gunaratne and the director, writer, film producer, darling of the UNHRC, do gooder Admiral Sarath Weerasekera?
Are they the new official b***s carriers to Dr Nandasena G Rajapaksa (DSc)?

      Dear Native,-

Didn’t your Saji Boy say he is all Scientific , and picks only Educated and experienced people to run the country under his watch?.
      -,
Lucky Saji couldn’t bring in the the Field Marshall .
Imagine Galleon Ravi asking the Field Marshall for his OLs?

Nandasena has taken cue from UNP discard Saji..And has picked the Real Deal?.

Have you seen the Admiral handling hard question even from the English graduated LTTE cadres , let alone the Real English Journos who accompany them..
When did we have a proper English speaking Foreign Sec.who can take -it up to the West?.

Do you need any references for the other Dude who captured the greatest T Leader ever Mr Pirahaparan?.

BTW, what is happening in the UNP Camp?.
All the Samanalayas are gone. Dr Harsha is gone, Mallika is gone,
I heard Dr Rajitha went to see Nandasena?.
Wonder where Galleon Ravi and FM Ponny are nowadays?

Will they take over the UNP Elite , Anglican and the Vellala Faction , when Dr Ranil is pushed in to pastures tomorrow?

    What human rights?

    Did -Ranil – Mr Bean

Protect the right to live, right to worship, right to religion of the Easter sunday victims?

Do you want this country to be run by a bunch of JOKERS.

Before all what ICJ should know is whether LTTE was a terrorist organization or not.

They should know the amount of life & property destroyed by those terrorists.

They should know the number of suicide attacks carried out by those terrorists to kill & maim innocent civilians.

They should know that it was the Sri Lankan Government only in the world that fed the terrorists that were fighting its own security forces.

They should know that the LTTE were always using human shield when they attack & when they were attacked.

Unless they know those things it’s inevitable that ICJ will be named/labelled as a terrorist organization like LTTE, ISIS, Taliban etc. etc. in the near future.

ICJ, keep your mouth shut, Sri Lankans aren’t afraid of you; let Sri Lankans solve their own problems.

      Real Revolutionist, the real Moda

This is ICJ, not ICC. Please your mouth and back instead of showing your stupidity through two ways. Who is scared of ICJ, for what? Then why did you talk about UN Electric Chair? Are ready with the pageant of Sinhala Cinema actresses to send to Geneva with Karuna, Deva, Hakeem, Rishard, Lemon Puff Veeraya, Community Pakaya…..The Annual parade is almost around the corner!

One of our problems must surely be that we expect that “somehow everything will come right”.
    .
Another way of putting it: “there is fate, and the evil guys will someday be punished, and we good fellows will be rewarded”. Others look to “Eternal Life in Heaven”. Yet others point out to us that so many things are bad in other places on this globe. You tell them that life on this planet will soon end because of human activity, and they say that what we do as individuals is of little consequence.
    .
    None of that is rational.
    .
In the midst of all this, we don’t do what we have to do at the most opportune time. We’ve had elections, and to me, it seems that we have elected an American Citizen as President. Nobody is really, really, bothered.
    .
There is so little objective newspaper reporting that we don’t know whom to believe. Newspapers depend on advertisements, have political masters. The British newspaper, The Guardian, claims to be different. Advertisers cannot dictate to them, because they don’t carry advertisements – but they ask for donations. All that is ya da da, and it doesn’t really matter. However, it may be that it does matter that our people voted despite all the warnings.
    .
    https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/nov/14/the-guardian-view-on-sri-lankas-election-danger-ahead
    .
That was an editorial written before the Elections. And still, we voted as we did.
    .
    Another Guardian article:
    .
    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/nov/13/sri-lankas-presidential-election-what-you-need-to-know
    .
The consensus is that Gota never succeeded in renouncing his American citizenship. And yet we freely elected him. It was the elections Commission’s business to check on all this. Mahinda Deshapriya did all the talking, and he finally said that they didn’t check on Gota’s citizenship status. Well, did we listen to either Nalin Abyesekera or Jeevan Hoole? To listen, they must talk. True, Abeysekera said almost nothing. But Hoole talked plenty. Did we listen?
    .
    The Commonwealth Monitors leave today.
    .
Have they left already, and is it too late?
    .
I don’t know, Hoole probably does.

I hope the new President will put a stop to the menace of ragging in universities and protest marches which take place every other week. No one else seems to have had the guts to address this disgraceful problem all these years.
