It was Mahinda Rajapaksa and no one else that called for and used a helicopter to fly to Hambantota the day after he lost the Presidential Election in January 2015, according to sources close to the Rajapaksa family.
‘Sirisena took oaths on the evening of January 9th and until then Mahinda Rajapaksa was the President of the country. As was usual practice he had asked a member of his security detail, Captain Tissa Wimalasena to call for helicopters,’ sources pointed out, stating that Sirisena was distorting facts and making unfair accusations.
The controversy over Rajapaksa using Air Force helicopters arose when Sirisena, speaking at a ceremony to commemorate the late Ven Madoluwawe Sobitha Thero, said that the Air Force Commander had told him that helicopters had been released to his predecessor Mahinda Rajapaksa to Hambantota after he, Rajapaksa, lost the presidential election ‘by so-and-so’ (ahavala) who said that he was conveying a request made by Sirisena.
Although Sirisena claimed ignorance and hinted that it was Ranil Wcikremesinghe who was responsible for this, he is on record having stated on April 09, 2016 that it was he who had given two helicopters to Rajapaksa on that occasion. He even observed on that occasion that ‘nowhere in the world has a head of state ben given helicopters to go home after an election defeat.’

Some of them were in fact in that audience, with “honourable” invitations and he even addressed some of them by name. Of the whole speech, one best “shot” was: “Did Rev. Sobitha want to “ROB” the Banks? He also revealed how Cabinet papers were brought into “ROB” the other Banks and named those – Bank of Ceylon; Peoples’ Bank; National Bank and State Mortgage Bank. He could have acted like a “President”; but prevented mainly because of the “Unholy Alliance” and the “Kakul Maatu” MR brought into play through the JO with assistance of those around him as “Advisers”; “Coordinators” . To say the least he could not even get a “Proper” Secretary to lead a team and he is, at the moment in the receiving end. There is no recovery for you Sir.

Now he realized that he is the executive President but easily forgotten how he became a President. I think he is more suitable for “Suuththara Puncha’s” character.

not up to any good standard ! THERE ARE PRIVATE HOSPITALS IN
THE COUNTRY THAT CAN BE EMULATED . MAJORITY OF DOCTORS
WHO WORK IN THOSE PRIVATE HOSPITALS ARE FROM THESE
GENERAL HOSPITALS . AT LEAST THEY SHOULD MAKE A NOISE
FOR THE PATIENTS . UNIVERSITIES AND DOCTORS STAGE STRIKES
ENDLESSLY FOR THEIR ISSUES BUT NOT FOR IMPROVEMENTS OF
QUALITY OF PUBLIC LIFE LIKE THESE. IF ONE WHOLE FIVE YEAR

Helicopter issue is nonsensical. Maithree was not the President at the time. Ranil was not the PM. PM was DM Jayaratne. There was no need for MR to get their permission to use a helicopter when he was in office. In all fairness, MR deserved a courtesy of a helicopter ride to his hometown. After all he was the Executive President of Sri Lanka for 10 years. In any other country, nobody wouldn’t even mention about it. There is a saying that in victory, you should show compassion. Both Maithree and Ranil lack human civility and decency.

I think Maithree’s problem is he or the others who supported “Hansaya” never thought MR would make a come back. I am sure their aim was to run the country until 2030 without any hassle. Everything went wrong with Mahinda’s returning to politics. Maithree I think never thought he will have to face the “Yaka” again. Anyways, “Yaka” looks sweet now. I don’t think there is any reason for Maithree to worry about anything except one. That is, he will never get a helicopter ride to Polonnaruwa at the end of his term. :D :D :D

Now these guys are fighting this petty fight at Sobitha Thero’s commemoration day. Nobody knows why Sobitha Thero died. It was said Old Royals kept in forcefully at hospital and poisoned him that why he fell sick. But later it was said that he was so badly discarded by the Yahapalanaya government he brought in & that worked up on him and he died.
New King is talking about 47 UNP MPs. But in the CC election he was elected only by UNP and TNA voters. It is not the SLFP’s voters, even the 142 SLFP MPS also did not vote for this guy. What is the hold up for him, then, to make the UNP as the ruling party? Aren’t they were the same people elected him as EP? He did not win one single SLFP votes in EP election, in Parliament election and in LG election. Isn’t it time for him to quit instead of eating on the UNP plate and excreting in UNP plate? All what he did in LG election was, he was cutting the branch he was sitting on. Now he has fallen down & have hurt himself a badly. If somebody telling him what he has done, he doing what the monkey did to the weaver bird.
Chandrika said that anybody would have won the election. The case there was they were looking for a common candidate. It has to UNP, SLFP, TNA, SLMC and upcountry rep. That time all the media said he wanted to leave SLFP because of the New Son Prince involvement in women and the fight with a DIG’s son. If that is correct, instead he fighting with Ranil and Chandrika who helped him get out of SLFP, he needs to fix his damaged image. He was, as per media, used by Old Royals at that time. When it was time to kill White Flag Surrenders, Old Royals told him to take it over and finish the job. He did it. Then, like in the case of Ponny, Old Royals revenged this guy too. So he is picking on Ranil and Chandrika.
They told that they have a file on this guy’s crimes. This guy did not challenge “Then bring it out to Court, we can see what it is at the Court” but this guy said “I too have a file on them”. Then this guy never surrendered his file to AG to investigate. Now he is talking all rubbishes.
When they were looking for CC they said they wanted a candidate abolish the EP in three months & should conduct the election, with in three months. Then we suggested in that case CV will be only honest who would sit on as EP and put his signatures to abolish it. They wanted a real Sinhala Buddhist. Now is all these halabula? Didn’t we at that time say this is what going to happen? We even told that we were not Sumanadasa Abeygunawardena so our guessing could become accurate too.
