Rajiva Crosses Over

State Minister for Higher Education Professor Rajiva Wijesingha – who resigned from his position few weeks ago – crossed over to the Opposition today in the Parliament.

Professor Rajiva Wijesingha

Professor Rajiva Wijesingha

He has stated that certain concerns he holds concerning the 19th amendment that is due to be presented before the Parliament and the removal of certain members from the University Grants Commission, as reasons that led to his decision to cross over.

Prof. Wijesinghe resigned from his position as the state Minister for Higher education after Cabinet Minister for Higher Education, Kabir Hashim instructed former UGC Chairman, Professor Kshanika Hirimburegama to resign from her position.

Although the government stated it was carried out as part of the government policy of asking all government institution and department heads to resign, Prof. Wijesinghe alleged it was carried out due to pressure from the Federation of University Teachers Association and complained of the lack of autonomy to perform necessary duties in his portfolio.

      Professor Rajiva Wijesingha

      Can you Fish?

The Indian Fisherman are taking out Fish Illegally.

Ranil Wickramasinghe wants the NSL Navy To shoot the poor Indian Fisherman,. After all, they are from the same neck of the woods, your forefathers came from, Southern India. The DNA in your bodies is Proof.

Can you get one of the confiscated boats and fish. Can feed Sri Lankans or export the Fish.

This he proved in the interview in which many listeners asked as to why the man shouted at UGC prof in that way. This was questioned in Satana program held after the incident – Rajeeva failed to leave a good answer to that. Anyway, I have the feeling his political performance is square peg in round hole. May be he is well at teaching but only go on criticising but not doing the due as it is demanded, I really dont think, he can contribute to the chaotic politics inteh current day of srilanka. Chaose the bugger family left behind need patience and courage and hard working nature tolerating probable attacking being thrown on the participants. I believe: Ranil and few other ministers are really doing well, with patience while all other bakadithayasa being aside, add their views only. Most of all nation’s Katussa (nobody else but Dayan Jayathilaka) to let criticise being cornered in his mental asylum is a real joke

I think Prof. Rajiva Wijesinghe is mirror image of Dayan Jayathilaka. So his cant fit to the current regime. Actualyl those who nevertheless make every effort to achieve being part of today ‘s decoction-coalition should be very strong actually. Those young UNP ministers are doing really well. I am surprised by their energies. It is easy everyone to criticise, but the rubbish left behind by the Rajapakshe adminstration will have long term effect even if NFF and other allies of UPFA try to paint the picture in favour of Rajanos. Those who knwo are well aware – billions grabed by those thieves can only be taken back thorugh by setting proper mechanisms only. Hope World bank will work with rulers succeeding it.

This is a blessing for the government. It is important to purge certain characters with Ego, self-centredness, in effective management, lack of credibility, criminal past and Mafia mentality. Rajiv probably has a few of the above. Him joining the opposition donate the cancer to the opposition and the government to progress it’s agenda of good governance at a faster pace without distraction. It is worth celebrating the departure

Now ,this blue eye boy can join with his sole mate “Mama Pora , DJ” then he can start giving endless ,useless interviews on Sirasa , Sirasa believes DJ is an intellectual hence always seeks his opinions ! Go on Rajiv ,ask for forgiveness from MR , you really belong to that loser’s group .

PS: it’s certain that no major party will give nominations for you for the upcoming election , join with MR , he will arrange you to contest under ASP liyanage’s party , it will be a miracle for you to get more than one dozen votes , so good bye Rajiv!

Since Rajiva was not voted into the Parliament, this “Pinata Seat” guy should be given a seat outside the Parliament on a “Padura”.

Great news! He is of no use to anybody. Start to paste posters “Rajiv Sir English Classes!)

You are useless since you have no votes! Even the Wijesinghe family will not vote! Maybe your uncle Getamanne Dammakitti the paedophile.

“He should better quit politics and join student orgs.”

Now he will have to sit A/L to enter Uni, pass competitive examinations. After this first barrier would any Uni consider giving him admission?

He is a Lone Ranger with no supporters. He claims to be a Liberal party leader but has never been elected. He is nothing but a maverick with no supporters and is most certainly not a team player. He should not have been selected to join the the new government. He suffers from some sort of delusions whereby he thinks that he is the sole authority of politics. He should go and join his few Dinasaurs friends and speak to them because no one else will ever listen to him or ever elect him to office. Good bye and good riddance mate!!!.

It is a shame that the man was not given an opportunity to prove himself as the minister of education. Getting rid of the political UGC head was a good thing and Rajiva should not have given this as one of his reasons for quitting.

Wee Thamihz Senior Journalist D:Siva Sankaran Sarma Menon

I lifted this lyrics from David Blacker’s blogg, a song he has dedicated to Gota,

        The Promise

If you wait for me then I’ll come for you
        Although I’ve traveled far
I always hold a place for you in my heart
        If you think of me
If you miss me once in awhile
        Then I’ll return to you
I’ll return and fill that space in your heart
        Remembering
        Your touch
        Your kiss
        Your warm embrace
I’ll find my way back to you
        If you’ll be waiting
If you dream of me like I dream of you
In a place that’s warm and dark
In a place where I can feel the beating of your heart

        Remembering
        Your touch
        Your kiss
        Your warm embrace
I’ll find my way back to you
        If you’ll be waiting
I’ve longed for you and I have desired
To see your face your smile
To be with you wherever you are

        Remembering
        Your touch
        Your kiss
        Your warm embrace
I’ll find my way back to you
        If you’ll be waiting
I’ve longed for you and I have desired
To see your face, your smile
To be with you wherever you are

        Remembering
        Your touch
        Your kiss
        Your warm embrace
I’ll find my way back to you
        Please say you’ll be waiting

        Together again
It would feel so good to be
        In your arms
        Where all my journeys end
If you can make a promise
If it’s one that you can keep, I vow to come for you
If you wait for me and say you’ll hold
A place for me in your heart.

            Javi.

David Blacker is a grown up man now. He doesn’t visit this site officially anymore. He is into philosophy, he is asking too many questions about himself. Its a good sign, whether he is going ga ga or becoming a saint, time will tell. Whichever path he takes he should be welcome, because we are running out of madmen and saints in this forum. Most commentators are becoming saner by the minute.

Thats a good sign. He had written a review on Chandraperuma’s “Gota’s War”. I would say David had attempted to salvage his neutrality by being tough on Chandraperuma.

            You should read it.

The master hypocrite slinks off to seek greener pastures (from which he absconded recently – no less!) – no surprise! Why he was appointed in the first place is another mystery – another one of Ranil’s questionable decisions. Anyway, thank goodness he’s gone and hopefully we won’t have to put up with his pathetic pronouncements in future.

Rajiva W. is a loser, if he has a good principals and policies, he should have resigned from MR regime a long time ago, now he angree with Ranil because he didn’t get cabinet position. He won’t get even 1,000 votes if he contest next election. This is the end of his political life,

The Prof should be a genuine. Crossover party is not nice for the educated people. If you want , You have to challenge with your stand than crossover, that means you are not policy maker for anything.

Who cares for this [Edited out] prof. He cannot even muster a few hundred votes, let alone be elected to the next parliament. He had hopes of becoming foreign minister and I was shocked to see Ranil giving him a state ministry. He doesn’t deserve even a deputy ministership.

It must be difficult being Ranil Wickremesinghe’s first cousin..not only is the latter better looking than this black ugly blob but he has been three times prime minister of the country..now we will have to listen to Rajiva preach on how to govern, from foreign policy, education and local government after quitting in two months. Hope the lord ends his miserable uneventful life and spare us the misery.

Is it too much to ask that Professori leaves the dirty work to those capable of finding their way in the murky world of Sri Lankan politics?
Crafty Hashim made a fool of our learned friend, and Ranil sent him away with a flea in his ear when he complained. Dammit, the man is a glorified English teacher, notwithstanding that he had trouble separating his metaphors from his oxymorons. Break free Professori, teach or maybe return to regale us with cock ‘n’ bull tales of how the last President ignored your ‘considered’ advice etcetera, etcetera.

Large majority of comments look bias towards party colour and also, didn’t see the issue that country face not Prof. RW.

We must aware that parliament member who is elected or the national list member doesn’t matter. He/She should serve the country.

RW appears to keep the promises this government, practice s of good governance. If the government is running under Ranil’s rule that breaches all good governance principles a true professional stays with them.

If the UNP fills with all top level appointments with UNP supports how the good governance can work. i.e, Kshanika’s case, ple understand RW’s concern is that the politically misled procedure of the Primer, that brings another Kshanika. RW’s argument is that we should’t create environment to create another Kshanika making the similar appointment again and again.

I suggest you all to have a look of his parliamentary speech he delivered. https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=1421976208097991&id=100008568757475

It’s sad to see cheap comments without seen the disaster that SL is moving with this ugly politics.
