Here’s a picture of a grown man eating his own WORDS!

I believe an accurate sinhala phrase for this would be “Ahagena Kaava”

      • 5
        0

or another would be ‘illam parippu, kaala varenko”

      • 1

        meaning ??

Parippu cultivated in Elam is not suitable to eat; therefore, wait until Madras Parippu arrives.

        Sahodara M Basnayake,
The following order of events in Sinhala with English translation is below.
        1. Upadeshaka lannuwa gilla! (swallowed the rope of faulty advisors)
        2. Mahinda pawulen kallu salli gaththa (Accepted bribes in the form of black money from the Mahinda family)
        3. Gahuwa thrummpu aththay patthu wuna. (every trump played backfired)
        3. Sanwardanayata keliya! Ratatta reewa!! (F’d development and shat on our country)
        4. Anaagena gee kaawa (made a potpourri and ate his own poo)
        5. Dan badei rudhawata beheth hoyanawa! (Now looking for a remedy for the indigestion)
        6. Hetta impeachment ekka! (tomorrow is presidential impeachment)
        7. Aniddata palla gammata! (day after, you are chased out to your village)

After all these, If MS and Ranil can smile at each other like in the picture, imagine their fake smiles and talks in front of the people..

It is no easy Ranil to work with MS.

How can he ? I wonder how Prez Sirisena could see in the eyes of honourable Ranil W.

Ranil never uttered a bad word against MS, but Sirisena fell to the level of Wimal Weerawanse or th elike social scum at the time, all loads of hate speeches were publicly made.

I really dont think that SIRISENSA will feel comfortable next days. He will end up in all heath problems.

Not just UNPrs but others and international commiunties would not welcome SIRISENA any more.

We should be ashamed to be SINHALESE at this critical juncture of lanken politics.

I remember President saying, He will go home in one hour if RW appointed PM.

      • 2
        1

Sirisena cannot accept defeat gracefully. The horrible words he uttered after appointing RW as PM is proof of that. He used that opportunity to ridicule RW to cover his shame.

      • 1
        2

Ranil never uttered a bad work against Sirisena because Ranil is a bloody crook.
Ranil is like the Devil or same as the Devil working in the background without showing his evil ways. The Devil never shows up in public and even if he does he does not show his true evil , ugly appearance.
MS is not a evil person like MR or RW and even though he has made many mistakes he is open to his mistakes. RW is a bloody arrogant bugger , silent scheming inside himself , only God knows what. Example !!!!! the CB bond scam.
The evil of RW will be openly seen by all very soon and when it does come to light all lankans will be shivering in their boots at the camouflaged monster they voted into power. See the Devil once in real life and you will not want to see him again.

      Dear Friends,

what happened to me this morning was to anaylse news items in local printed and various media.

      1. None of them have made head lines as ” Ranil becomes PM of the nation againරනිල් වික්රමසින්හ නැවතත් අගමැති වෙයි. මහින්ඩ ගේ බොරු අගමැති කම අහෝසි වෙයි.” insead, Mahind resigns to allow peace in the country. How can Mahinda resign, if PM postion he grabbed by force had no legality as proved out by country ‘s SC ?

      2. Lanken printed media in large font size make head lines – mahinda resigns, but no signs of anything about Ranil returns to power… not even in that big font size (පොල්ගෙඩි අකුරින්) this is the problem we have in this country.

      3. We need to bring laws to educated DERANA and Hiru or th elike TV channels. Why cant we do that ? They should all behave within ethical and moral frames. If European PVT channels would behave so, they would not have been permitted to continue … why nothing is standing against these brutal channels ?

      4. People in this coutnry are misled by above mentioned media instittuion. People are in dark. That where we should all act together and correct it.
There are blatant lies being planted so that they can reap harvest by fooling stupid masses. Racial thoughts .. just like fairy tailes go viral in our country. National TVs should do lot more to protect the nation not being caught by Rajakapakshe extremism.
      5. Falsehoods about Ranil W have been spread through such media men..රනිල් වික්රමසින්හ විකුනනව රට කියල බොරු ජඩ ප්රචාර රට තුල පතුරුවල…grass eating majority folks would not see twice, but just get caught easily. .

මහින්ඩ සන්ග්රිල සින්නක්කර විකුනපු එක එක හා අනිකුත් බදු ඩීපුව ගැන කත නැහැ. They dont care about when Mahinda sold it out … but RANIL turned it to LEASE… why have they doing this ?

Why dont they make it as ” Mahinda had to leave since his appointment as a PM was illegal and unconstitutional as supreme court acknowoeldged it. “

Leelagemalli. It is most probably due to kickbacks and various types of gifts such as laptops, mobile phones, scholarships to their children, foreign employment to unemployed children of some journalists and in gratitude for luxury dinners and lunches offered at the TT.

      Sirisena,

When, you, Sirisena took oaths as the President, you swore to protect and defend the constitution. Then you turned around and did unlawful unconstitutional acts, that was confirmed unanimously by the supreme court.

For you, Sirisena, taking an oath or giving an oath means, nothing. Didn’t you give an oath to the Fake PM, Rajapaksa, MP for Kurunegala?

What we all want from you, Sirisena, is follow through with your statement that you will resign if Ranil becomes PM . When will, you, Sirisena resign?

After one hour of Ranil becoming the Prime Minister are we looking forward to the resignation of the President Maithreepala Sirisena.
Being an “ardent” Buddhist I hope the President will not break his promise not to tell lies as we all remember the words of the President.
” I will not stay as President more than one hour if Ranil is appointed as PM.”
Can you remember those words Mr. PRESIDENT?”

We are still to see the Inspector General of Police, Pujith Jayasundera walking into Temple Trees, snapping into attention and saluting the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe.

Wonder what is keeping him from doing that?

    This is a warning!
Now it is the time to impeach Gamaral Sira and put him in jail and provide the retirement package d”DEATH SENTENCE” Let the court do the work legally. Also everyone who participated in this illegal unconstitutional coup should b punished the same way.You have only 9 months before the elections.

Good Advice. But I am sure it will be lost on Ranil, who is now old enough to go to the forest and seek his personal salvation.
      .
He allowed the most venomous one to go free in 2015. Now he will allow this yellow snake to go free in 2018.

Sirisena should be impeached for more than one reason. Firstly this SEVALAYA will not be recognised by any leader of worth in the developed world. He will start gallivanting and when he is treated like a LEPER that reflects on all civilised people in our country and we do not deserve that.

HE MUST GO AS HE SAID HONOURABLY failure must do the needful

Secondly one of the reasons why we are in chaos is as a result of the absence of strong institutions and not doing what is necessary in line with what is needed for good order. If the Head of State is unworthy of that;position as a result of his conduct he cannot be the first citizen

    WHAT NEXT?!
Are we going to see the same old ad hoc governance? Protecting each other in the political world? And we the people of the country at each others throat? This never have been the dreams of the people of this country. We are a friendly, educated and accommodative society. These goons who call themselves our politicians look after each other while dividing us.
Hope at least the so called new govt. puts behind bars at least 2 from MR’s govt and one from the Yaha Palanaya within the next few days. Then we can be sure of a good governance.
I and the entire country is looking forward to this. For the next few days do something at least to pretend that you want to do something good for this beautiful country of ours.

I really do hope Mr. Ranil will now give Mr. Sajith his due place and recognition in the party and work with him closely towards developing and supporting the deprived and long suffering people in our country with his now famous FDI’s. What we need are small industries to sprout up and this where India and China can really support us because they produce such machinery at very affordable prices. But unfortunately our politicians are not interested in this type of machinery because the kick backs are too small for consideration.

    • 5
      1

Yes, Sajith is well positioned to be the next leader of the country.
      .
He has shown admirable restraint and patience. His experience is sufficient. Some say that he’s too young. Age 51 years. How long do such people imagine a human being can live?
      .
But I have a few questions. Someone called Saro had posted a panegyric on him two days ago. I asked some questions. No responses. Why?
      .
Shall post them here in while. What questions? Wait and see. I’m sending this from a mobile phone.

      • 3
        0

        Dear Craig,

Please find what Saro has failed to answer, here:
        .
        https://www.colombotelegraph.com/index.php/slap-in-sirisenas-face-sajith-will-present-confidence-motion-on-ranil-tomorrow-upfa-will-boycott-sessions/
        .
        I have said:
        .
On the previous page of comments, there is this panegyric on Sajith by someone calling herself, Saro.
        .
        This is his Wikipedia entry:
        .
        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sajith_Premadasa
        .
Could you please explain why it says that ”there are no records of him obtaining any tertiary qualifications”, while granting that he entered LSE? I’ve seen specific allegations that he flunked. O.K. by me if that is acknowledged. Are you saying he completed a Master’s in Maryland?
        .
        An even greater curiosity:
        .
“Could you also explain why his personal website has lots of Latin?
        .
        http://sajithpremadasa.org/about/faq/
        .
I don’t know the language, but I put a bit of it in Google Translator; the results didn’t make sense.”
        .
Choosing a leader is both difficult and important.
        .
Each time I put this on, I’m shortening it, so as to focus on the “problems”.

      • 1

We the folks should learn it. from SIRISENA.

Sirisena has never had experience in Leadership. Whatever SIRISENSA makes today is a failure.

So the kind of miserable sitaution, we dont want ot see in the person Sajith.

Sajith should become PM in next govt and then he can become President. I see a greater personality in Sajith, but right at this moment, he has to be with Ranil in order to achieve his future goals. Not just oratory skills, but he has to train in many other areas.
I like the way SP has behaved all these weeks. He has not abused his mouth the way some young men did. They the most abusive bunch of rascals wait to create new divisions wihin UNP. They create fractions with the UNP and try to make use the chance to grab the power again.

      • 2
        0

Sajith by his behaviour compelled the former Director of Wild Life, to resign.
He needs to learn to respect the law.

        PART TWO

Sajith gets cleared of using Latin Kaduwa!
        .
I submitted a comment about three hours ago; it has yet to appear. In the interim, I’ve got cleared that complaint about Latin being used in Sajith’s website. I had a chat with my Bandarawela neighbour, who possibly knows Latin better than almost anyone else in Sri Lanka. He asked me to send him the link. This was his response:
        .
“This website has not been updated for several years (2015) and is only half done.
        .
The pseudo-latin text is there only to show how the page layout should be. It is a common method with printers to use random pseudo-latin text.
        .
Clearly this website is only a project at unfinished stage. Sajith Premadasa probably doesn’t remember about the existence of this website
        .
        Best regards . . . etc.”
        .
Then he goes on to give not only this link, but some of the text taken from it:
        .
        http://generator.lorem-ipsum.info/_latin
        .
Please click on that link if you want to digest more. He had quite sweetly given me some edited stuff so that I could understand without reading it all.

        http://generator.lorem-ipsum.info/_latin
        .
So, my apologies to Sajith, if I actually raised any doubts about him on that particular score.
        .
However, the response from my neighbour could usefully be used to discuss the difference between pseudo-scholars and genuine scholars. My neighbour most assuredly belongs to the latter category. I mean that!
        .
I met this other man just once, for a long chat:
        .
        http://www.island.lk/2004/05/02/featur02.html
        .
A few typos don’t really ruin that article.

This is your last chance! We trust that you will deliver. Good Luck Mr. PM

As a ‘Kalu Sudda’, Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe is a great admirer of the Westminster tradition. One of the sacred tenets of the Westminster tradition is for a prime minister, minister, or an MP, caught red handed with corruption, deceit, lying to Parliament, or obstructing or misleading Parliament etc., to resign immediately without even an inquiry. I am wondering why Ranil does not follow that exemplary principle? A British Member of Parliament caught with the evidence revealed in the Bond Commission would have been hounded out of Parliament by the unbearable weight of public opinion alone. If such a thing happened in Japan, the person would have committed ‘Hara Kiri’. But our Prime Minister can go on as if nothing happened. He does not know that there is such a thing called ‘SHAME’ because his skin is thicker than that of a crocodile.

Not one cent from Central Bank went to Ranil.

But, many MPs accepted Rs. One Million each. None has resigned

      Dear Gihan cool.

If the TNA was ever remotely interested in Tamil people well being they should have worked with him in 2009. There will be no other and whatever there is just a diversions only.

Infect ‘they’ are together vs people period. This is a way of life as no other skill/employment opportunity available for the most elected.

We will be played until the last man stand is a fact we come to live by…….

Unless otherwise we ditch all the war crime talk + current constitutional assembly and take on LLRC recommendations and the Truth and Reconciliation for our own knowledge move forward as a united Nation.

India and China has few thousand mile long boarders between them and can sort their issues out accordingly between them in their own territories away from SL waters. They should man the army for this war with Tamil Nadu soldiers/regiment mostly will remove some stress for SL.

First, congrat to the new PM, if not him stood up this onslaught of bloodless coup, persisting not to vacate the Temple Tree the game would have been easily won the way MS & MR plotted. Their advicers nor did they see this was coming. For Ranil’s credit, he gave up PM chair allocated in the parliament accepting HE’s nomination and Gazette notification, but challenged the decision in a rightful manner.
Next, the minor parties, both of Muslims and Tamils, for showing the solidarity for what they believed is right, not to indulge themselves to be traded like in a sale yard, despite some healthy sum per head was in offer.
The showing in legislature: What a shamble; have seen saw some nasty stuffs in parliaments in other countries, but I thought SL was far far better than them. Unfortunately they proved me wrong, a bunch of thugs took charge of this respected place to the extent that there was a genuine concern that someone would get killed. Looked as if the chilli powder effort was a well orchestrated effort, as the leader was just sitting and relishing while all these things around him were going on, no attempt on his part to stop it. A couple of successful floor tests against the new PM didn’t satisfy the gamaralaya President, the gang was simply trying to apply delaying tactics.
Judiciary: Hats off to all 7 judges for their unanimous decision, to uphold the constitution and democratic principles, not to be caved into the pressure by the executive and the purported Govt staged by the HE.
All in all, time has come for HE to eat his vomit. MS has been complaining that RW was operating him, but what he fails to realize was the presidency was not something that he earned out rightly on his own, he was actually a UNP president in terms of number of votes he received on a major party basis.

The impunity conferer Ranil, if he is the continuing PM, the he change his mind on impunity granting and he sue the EP for illegally firing him or if he is freshly appointed PM he pay rent for TTH from Oct 26 to Dec 16th and fines to illegally occupying and jail term to breaking the law. Either PM or EP broke the law. They both should file cases on each other in SC if they believe it was the other one who broke the law.

People are not going to excuse Ranil, unless Ranil brings Mahendran to courts before end of January. Opposition is not going to Keep quiet as well as civil society. People did not support Ranil, but supported the Constitution. The constitution has got reinforced not Ranil. Ranil is still in shakey waters. Ranil Please understand this position. We know Mahinda as a better Leader, coteries around him betrayed him.

In your short speech at your official residence you never utter a word about bringing crooks and corrupted before the legal and justice system. As usual you only talked about economic development.

Have you done a deal with MaRa , that next two years you will sweep all their court cases under the carpet and deliberately delay proceedings.

I see those signs.,i believe you have learnt lessons from the past 50 days and people rally around you not because they wanted you but for the sake of restoring democracy, also remind you the commitments you have given back in 2015.

      Dear Jay,
      .
I wanted to agree with you: “I see those signs.”
      .
However, after that have you not carelessly omitted a key word – NOT – from what follows?
      .
      Please unscramble.

If the new Govt under Ranil is honestly out to eliminate corruption from Cabinet level they might as well appoint an Integrity Commissioner as done in some Western democracies. All major appointments go before this official before confirmation, who does a thorough whetting job of the candidates concerned. It may be difficult in the case of our politicians because they are almost all with terrible past records, on both sides of the aisle.

Many fail to understand that the root cause of all these problems is MARA. This guy will never learn in his life time. A man who thinks of himself and his family and other cohorts. What else to say we pity ourselves for being born in this blessed island called Lanka.

Without media presence to make “live” recordings of proceedings, will Sirisena now claim that he never swore RW into office? Knowing the man’s capabilities, that’s a possibility that cannot be written off!

What a difference between two people across a table. Plato is convinced that pedigree matters!

One must give it to the well bred Ranil despite the many humiliations from the low bred Sirisena, including personal insults naming Ranil,
the UNP leader remained calm, collected and dignified. The Meeharaka from the paddy fields of Polonnaruwa at least will learn now what class and pedigreed means.
