Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has reportedly instructed the IGP to assign a CID Police team to investigate the act of damaging several Buddha statues in the Mawanella area.
Informed government sources said the Prime Minister also instructed the Police chief to take stern action against those responsible for the incident.
Police have so far arrested nine suspects over the incident and further investigations are still underway.
President Maithripala Sirisena, who is currently on a personal holiday overseas, has telephoned UNP Chairman Minister Kabir Hashim and asked about the incident.
Meanwhile, the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU), issuing a statement, strongly condemned the act of religious blasphemy that occurred recently in the Mawanella Area.
“The ACJU considers this act of damaging of the Buddha statue, which is worshipped by the majority Buddhists living in this country, as a deed of damaging the mutual understanding and reconciliation among the communities. The ACJU hereby reiterates humiliating other religions by damaging the religious icons of worship is against the teachings of Islam,” Ash-Shaikh M.M.A. Mubarak, General Secretary of the ACJU, said in the statement.
The statement also added,”These types of misdeeds may result in creating unnecessary commotions in the country, where the Buddhists, Hindus, Christians and Muslims are living together in unity and reconciliation.
Therefore, the ACJU requests the authorities to take legal action against the offenders whoever they are and implement justice, and the ACJU also requests His Excellency the President, Hon. Prime Minister and Inspector General of Police to take the necessary measures to maintain law and order at this situation, not allowing any evil opportunists taking the law into their hands.”

MAhinda Rajapakse says “GOd I did not steal much, only some for my children”. but Ranil stoel for the whole Cabinet (God Munneswara). MAithripala klnows every Politician wants something for their family. al,ost every politicianhas a family member in the parliament or some where nearby. But, Sajith Pemadasa think now my sister is inthe parliament that may be a disadvantage to become the PResident. Hearing this, Sajith would say, I was thinkiig about this but I did not say anybody. Find the criminals and give them the maximum level of punishment but not the capital punishment like in some inhuman middle eastern countries. Ask all MPs, Minsiters (including Kabir Hasim) to stay away from the investigation. These idiotic politicians have nothing to do with law-enforcement. They are only law-makers and not law enforcement officers!
Assure the entire world that we as humans still give the wrongdoers a chance to correct themselves. If this is a ring (like the underworld), look for its origin, be it ISIS, or any other religious group. Then destroy the entire gang leadership. Keep the accomplices under surveillance for at least 10 years! Show the culprits and their survivors that no criminal act of this nature is tolerated by our society since we do care about our country and nation!

These all are dramas. The Three stooges all these times were pretending like they were in quarrel on the power competition. But inside, almost every week, they secretly met each other. Now this new drama, Muslims are breaking the statues are being staged.
In the North East, almost every month one Christian church statue or one Hindu temple statue are broken. People are always suspecting these done with police blessing. What did they do about the Vaharai police shooting? They arrested more than 30 ex-rebels under PTA to prove the LTTE has resurrected. When one of the wife of a arrested one protested in street, they threatened her “Get back to home or otherwise!“ They put LTTE flags in Island’s Western sea shores. They print letters on the name of LTTE. Didn’t they print even a full edition of second “Uthayan” newspaper? The planted suicide jacket in an ex-rebels house and used his wife for their witnessing. Is there anything in the world a nasty thing these Sinhala Buddhist hesitate to do? Sinhalese believe these, tolerate and vote accordingly. About 65% of the Sinhalese votes are going to this gang. Island wide, they have 45%. In that condition what shame for these top three stooges to bogusly call for investigation.
What is the point of all these haa hoos? If the preliminary action is pointing at Old Royals camp, will any police investigate it? Isn’t it why they brought down the government in Oct 26? Why Ranil refused to file a legal suit on any of the breakages of the constitution by Old & New Kings? Internally, they all know who ordered, who supplied hitmen, how much was paid, how it was paid……. Why didn’t Ranil investigate Chinese embassy bribing in the election of 2015? Even Island’s highest Buddhists, Kandy Ayatollahs would not like investigation to take place on the culprits who really broke these Buddha statues. Then why Ranil and New King are fooling others?

Will a committee and a CID police team be appointed to investigate the desecration of Hindu temples and Hindu statues in the north and east and the erection of Budda statue, viharas. The building of Mosques and other structures on these destroyed Hindu temples by Sinhalese Buddhist Fascists , the Sinhalese archeological department, using fake concocted history and Muslim Wahhabis, aided and abetted by the Sinhalese security forces , police and the local Sinhalese/Muslim establishment and police, who actively and passively support the destruction of symbols of ancient Tamil Hindu heritage of the north and east. The answer is NO, as the victims are Hindu Tamils , whose identity has to be destroyed. Their lives culture language, religion, symbols history and identity does not matter. Only the identity culture of the Sinhalese Buddhist Fascists who created all this extremism fanaticism in the island , from the time of independence , with their racist divide and rule policy matters and needs to be preserved, so that everyone knows, who is the ruling race and masters are and anyone daring to challenge this will be severely punished, however it is opposite with the lowly Tamils, anyone can destroy their ancient symbols , places of religion , claim them with fake history , confiscate their lands on any flimsy excuse and the Sinhalese led state will give overt and covert support to this. Muslim Wahhabis/opportunists and Sinhalese Buddhist Fascists/racists and opportunists have taken full advantage of this policy. How many Hindu temples and statues have been vandalised and destroyed in the north and east by Muslims , Sinhalese racists and fanatics with the support of the local authorities, police and armed forces and in many instances Buddhist/Islamic structures built over them.

Wimal Muthukarrupan Weerawansa has stated the TNA and the Tamil diaspora are behind the vandalization of the Budda statue. I suppose the TNA and the Tamil diaspora are also behind the desecration of Hindu temple and the vandalization of Hindu god statues in the north and east and are funding the building of Budda statues, Viharas and building of mosques and other structures on these destroyed Hindu temple sites.

There should be harsh penalties for hate crimes. Any crime against another religion should be considered a very serious crime, and the criminals given life sentences.
No Temple, Mosque, Church, or Kovvil in this country should be attacked or burnt, and no religious statues destroyed. This country has no choice, and to progress we must all live in unity, respecting all other religions. Let us not make religion or race divide us.

Politicians are normally behind all these types of incidents to divert attention away from general issues (rising cost of living, rising dollar rates , political instability etc ). If you look at Kandy incident too, it was allowed to spread without any control by the then gov and president. 83 incident also similer. Without any politicians backing people will not act in this manner. It os upto the genuine politicians and media to find the culprit and reveal it with evidence.

Guys I am so happy to see most of the viewers here (including Wanni) have supported the measures to prevent right in the beginning and not allow politicians and criminals to exploit and manipulate for their own gains. I believe it is time if like minded people get together and put an end to this circus.religion should be a right and politicians should not be allowed to exploit it as they want. This one step alone will bring an drastic improvement in Lanka and set the tone for politicians to present their future plans and goals. For years religion and race has been the only agenda for most Lankan politicians.
