In a surprise move today, the ex-fake Director of Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital removed from his post, Susitha Senaratne, walked into the hospital with some employees who are his supporters and occupied the Director’s office. The Acting Deputy Director Prabhath Werawatte, the three matrons and some orderlies have rallied around him in support. The chief radiographer, the chief physiotherapist and the Administrative Officer have also joined the sacked director.
The Police have been alerted and the specialists are camping in the Chairman’s premises to show solidarity towards him.
In a Facebook post yesterday Susitha Senaratne blamed Colombo Telegraph for his removal.

From the earlier article I gather that Dr Athula Kahandaliyanage is the Chairman who had earlier been soft on Senaratne, the Acting Deputy Director Prabhath Werawatte is said to be supporting (Fake) Director Susitha Senartne etc.
.
All a bit confusing, given also the fact that I avoid doctors like plagues. Let death come to me when it will, no point fearing it and spend so much money on these guys that nobody in the family will have money for food. Most people seem to consider me odd ‘cos I consider food more fundamental than medicine.

Hey Mr. Singhala_Man, listen, neither Dr. Athula Kahandaliyanage nor any other board member or whoever you may think could have done a god damn thing to remove a board member that has been appointed by the Minister. Dr. Athula Kahandaliyanage finally delivered a “walking paper” to this supposed fake Dr. at the directive of the Minister of Health who has the authority to do so. Hope you and other readers get this point loud and clear.
/
Chris Kay / February 12, 2019
Thanks for the comment, However, the Chairman or anyone else couldn’t have done a darn thing to remove a board member appointed by the Minister of Health but he himself only. Here the Chairman delivered the “walking Paper” at the directive of the Minister. The administrative procedures are there follow and not to over run them.

No Amila, this is not teaching or breeding. This sort of thing is learnt by watching your elders – elected parliamentarians give regular lessons. The rest of the country takes their cue from what happens in the highest ‘debating’ chamber in the land. In the last one they gave us a master class in how to throw chilli water. Before that, school children saw and heard Kunu Vasu show us how to use the word ‘pakayo’. Who to tell these things to?

Colombo 7 was indeed home to the ‘elite’ of Colombo/Sri Lanka at one time. That time has long gone. Since 1985 most of the new Colombo 7 parvenu’s are the gun-runners, kudu karayas, commis-kaka’s, prostitutes and their pimps, and their ilk. But don’t worry, we will find out the full story, slowly but surely.

If he was banned from “attending even board meetings”, he has now committed an offence. Police should be informed of the court order, which he has ignored, for him to be arrested for contravening same.
If some personnel of the hospital are “on his side”, they are aiding and abetting an illegal act. They too are liable to be prosecuted.
If he has deserted his new post, and continues to do so for more than a week, he would have “vacated post” – this amounts to dismissal from employment.
The Director of Health Services should take immediate action.
Is the Minister ignoring what is happening?

The appointment of Dr. (or not) Thusitha Senaratne as a member to the board of directors of J’pura Hospital is entirely a ministerial affair and cannot blame the Chairman and other members of the Board. As we understand, Dr. Athula Kahandaliyanage is very highly qualified medical professional who has by far the best suitability and beyond to be the Chairman of the board of directors of J’pura hospital is a reason why the Ministry of Heath appointed him the Chairman. Prior to that, Dr. Kahandaliyanage was the youngest ever Director General of Health Services in Sri Lanka for a good length of time and then the youngest ever Secretory of the Ministry of Health until his early retirement to accept a prestigious Directorship of South Asia Division of the World Health Organization of the United Nations based in New Delhi. Dr. Kahandaliyanage has since retired from the WHO having performed at highest level. This gentleman doesn’t have to work for a living. By accepting the Chairmanship of J’pura hospital, he says he is paying back his dues to Mother Lanka for giving him a free education and fine opportunities in life; to that end he has scarified his entire salary to an endowment fund for the welfare of poor who cannot otherwise access J’pura Hospital’s healthcare services. He welcomes others who may want contribute to the endowment fund managed by the hospital.

Spring Koha / February 12, 2019
Dr Athula K is indeed a rare breed. Unfortunately, it is because of these situations that other qualified and capable people give public service in Sri Lanka a wide berth. The bane of our lives is the continuing interference by politicians and their proxies. In most instances, party political leaders, mindful of their own power base, just turn a blind eye.Nepotism and cronyism is rife. Enough to beat down most decent, capable people. Our national condition can only improve no sooner this nonsense is ended.

Dear Spring Koha, You area seasoned reader of CT. I respect your views.
But the attempt to cover up the frauds of Susitha Senaratne is still going on. Acting Director Werawatte is still in touch with Susitha Senaratne planning the destruction of evidence. Anjana Sendanayake, the most important pawn used by Susitha Senaratne is still free. The day JVP went to the FCID Anjana deleted so many documents from the computers. He is a beneficiary of so much of fraud money. He as the go between tenderers, suppliers and the fake director.
Sarath Robertson is trying to retain the sacked director in the quarters. He has been poring through a loophole in the e code to keep him in the hospital premises to arrange another coup.
The Matrons are still passing information to the sacked director. Yesterday Matron Kala was screaming and crying on behalf of the sacked director. There is video evidence of all that. She has an infamous past of behaving similarly towards other sacked directors too.
DISCIPLINARY ACTION SHOULD BE TAKEN AGAISNT ALL THOSE WHO VIOLATED DISCIPLINE YESTERDAY.
If Kahandaliyanage means business, he should show it by action.

SJGH Insider / February 12, 2019
Nobody is contesting Dr Kahandaliyaange’s qualifications to be the chairman of SJGH.
But when the COPE, Courts, Auditor General clearly gave instructions to advertise and recruit a qualified director why did he not do it for 4 years? Why did he protect this rogue Susitha Senaratne for 4 years? Susitha Senaratne was sitting in the Director’s office till 4pm yesterday by force. Why didn’t Kahandaliyanage have him arrested?
Even after Susitha Senaratne was sacked ,the Administrative Officer Sarath Robertson assigned a BMW to take Susitha Senaratne’s thief wife and children to be transported. Robertson has bragged to the supporters of Susitha Senaratne that he has taken all the files of Susitha Senaratne to his hand. Why did Athula Kahandaliyanage let Anjana Sendanayake the biggest fraudster to stay in the Director’s office deleting all the files from the computer?
Why is Kahandaliyange not taking action against all those who tried violence yesterday? Why are the Matrons still at work? The majority of the nurses (95%) went on the streets against this thief. But the Matrons supported the fake director.
Yesterday the room was opened by force against the law by Acting Deputy Director. What action has Kahandaliyanage taken against Dr Werawatte who connived with Anjana Sendanayake to delete the documents needed for the FCID from the Director’s Office computer?
Has Kahandaliyane reported Acting Deputy Director Werawatte to the CID?
Two consultants and Matrons were seen sitting inside the office of this illegally opened office that was sealed for the purpose of FCID investigation.
Those consultants and Matrons were also tresspassers.
What has Kahandaliyanage done about those consultants and Matrons who were sitting inside an office which was sealed for the purpose of a criminal investigation?
Has he ordered a disciplinary inquiry against those people who are a part to destroying evidence needed by the FCID?
HAS KAHANDALIYANAGE DONE ABOUT THESE MATTERS?
CT, please investigate!
Minister, wake up!
Rajitha, are you still in love with your little boy Susitha?

Tanks to you SJGH Insider! As your ID implies, you are aware much that goes on at SJGH. I am sure you will agree with my following comment.
As you all are much aware, in Sri Lanka’s public sector it is not an easy task to be managing any system without the interference of corrupt politicians who are there only for one purpose, that is nothing but to amass personal wealth at the cost of poor tax payers. Take for instance the very Minister of Health who has been using such people like this fake doctor to be doing the dirty work for him. Do you think that there will be any tangible outcome of any investigations with regard to so many millions of dollars this man has swindled? At the end of the day, there will be no outcome for a fact that the spoils of the loot have already been absorbed mainly by the Minister and other influential politicians, leaving table scraps to lapdogs/lackeys like so called people like this fake doctor.
Your long litany of what the Chairman of the board should have done is pretty fair, but it is no easy task to carry them out to the letter could have been a reason why Dr. Athula Kahandaliyanage may have exercised patience; as general public, social and print media have been making enough noise for the government (Minister of Health) to wake up and requested the Chairman Dr. Athula Kahandaliyanage to take appropriate action. In the absence of such a directive from the Government, for the Chairman to have taken unilateral action would have been like disturbing a hornets’ nest. Knowing the environment one is operating in is very vital in a corrupt country like Sri Lanka.

As you all are well aware, Dr. Kahandaliyanage resigned from the Chairmanship of J’pura Hospital’s Board of Directors mainly due to this issue; but the government did not accept his overture and persuaded to carry on and resolve this and other problems badly plaguing the hospital – in other words he was given the greenlight to do correct the wrongdoing of the Minister whose hands are tied as far as this issue is concerned.

So the story has not ended. Anything can happen. In the wake of the racket the chap is given marching orders. But that seems to result disorder. If disorder prevails then marching orders can be withdrawn, perhaps using the precedent of a 3 month transition period. This shows the general trend in this country. In the wake of lawlessness, many oldies are now questioning the wisdom Rt. Hon. D. S. Senanayake for winning the independence for this country. If Doctors are like this, what about others.
