Sagala Hits Back At Sirisena: “President Meddled With High-Profile Investigations”

Responding strongly to President Maithripala Sirisena‘s allegations on protecting wrongdoers of the Rajapaksa regime, former Law and Order Minister Sagala Ratnayaka said it was Sirisena who stood in the way of investigations.

Sirisena

“As a responsible Cabinet minister, I have never spoken in public about instances where there was high profile interference with the high-profile investigations. But if President Sirisena’s wild allegations continue, I will be forced to divulge details on who interfered, when, where and how,” Ratnayaka said.

“The IGP’s recent letter to the Secretary Defence over the transfer of CID officer Nishantha Silva (currently the public domain) clearly states that President Sirisena gave the order. This is a clear example of the President’s interference in action – a recurring habit these past three and a half years,” he also added.

When asked by foreign correspondents in Colombo as to why his government did not take action on wrongdoers of the previous regime, Sirisena said Wickemesinghe and former Law and Order Minister should be held responsible for that.

President Sirisena, the architect of the current political crisis in Sri Lanka, today said he would never appoint Ranil Wickremesinghe the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, in his lifetime.

“Even if the Judiciary decides that the premiership should go to the UNP, I will not appoint Wickremesinghe the Prime Minister again,” Sirisena said addressing a meeting with the Foreign Correspondents Association in Sri Lanka earlier today.

“I have clearly asked the UNP not to suggest his name again,” Sirisena said. “As much as there are laws and constitutions, there is something called traditions. The Prime Minister is someone who can work with me.”

Sirisena also said the government he led since January 08, 2015 was plagued with corruption, due to the actions of Prime Minister Wickremesinghe. “I will appoint a Presidential Commission to look into the rampant corruption in the previous administrations. There are bigger and deeper cases than the Treasury bonds scam.”

The full audio recording of Sirisena’s meeting with foreign correspondents is given below;

Sirisena, you are a known Traitor, Sevalaya, Mala-Perethaya, Patholaya and Pachaya (Liar). Nobody believes you. Amarasiri and other gave you the titles of Traitor, Sevalaya, Mala-Perethaya, Patholaya and Pachaya . several years ago,/

You are a Quisling too. Ask the Scandinavians, especially the Norwqegians, as to why you are a Quisling.

The very same man who broke all traditions, ethics and morals AND RULE OF LAW by having appointed his arch enemy as the Prime minister on the 26th Oct 2018, turning to a U-turn, seems to have the audacity to continue adding stupid statments.
May be he feels people are as stupid as he appeared to be
He is shamelessly continue saying, ” there are traditions bla bla “. I have not heard of any traditions that would go beyond the voter mandates. After elections if the results were respect, traditions are to hold on to constitution and go forward. Latter is the principle in known democracies. There the parliamentarians are the ones to represent the people s voices in the aftermath of the elections. But SIRISENA as the head of state not to respect is being criticised by entire world where let alone the demo rights are respected. May well be at least few should be around him, to stand by with his estranged reactions. Leaders can get misled, but to the manner SIRISENA is fallen is very unfortunately, gone beyond gone all acceptable bounderies, to this day.
WHO IS THIS Pallewatte Gamaralalage Maithripala Yapa Sirisena ? Whose behaviours have put the country in danger today ?

    Sagala,
    .
Why only “if President Sirisena’s wild allegations continue, I will be forced to divulge details on who interfered, when, where and how?”
    .
If you know of anycriminal activity. then you do have an obligation to divulge it now – not wait till Sirisena makes more wild allegations.
    .
Can you not now divulge the truths that you know? Why do you have to wait? Or at least explain why you are reluctant to divulge the truth despite knowing who, when and how the culprits/criminals were protected by the President?

Do not forget that all these guys have skeletons in their cupboards. What these guys say should be considered as ‘soda bothale keduwa wage’ (like opening the Soda bottle). Our people forget these utterances after few weeks.

Exactly. Sagala’s dumb, spineless statement is worthy of our wrath. Disrespect with which RW’s top monkeys like Sagala R treats citizens of SL is amazing. I remind spineless Sagala R, the horse has well and truly bolted. Your time is over. Just as much as that historic turncoat Sira’s. You don’t need to ddivulge any info on criminal wrong-doing to the nation, which you are obliged to do under oath taken when sworn in as Cabinet M. We will send investigators after you in due-course to extract the info we need. Cheers!

        Ben,
        .
Sagala’s statement is sufficient to begin an investigation of obstruction of justice. Why is the justice dept, CID waiting without begininning that investigation starting with questioning Sagala. If Sagala now refuses to divulge the information he has, then he too becomes part of the obstruction of justice case as well.
        .
Does our country have any hope? Why should the tax payers continue to foot the fat bills of justice dept, police and other public institutions if they are unwilling or incapble of doing their work properly?

for some reasons, UNPers have from the day one been not active enough to stand vehemently against SIRISENA.
They may feel that it should be there way, but now RW and his cabinet ministers should spill the beans.
      If not now, when ?
We perfectly, know how SIRISENA himlsef invovled in sacking FORMER FCID CHIEF commissioner, Ms Dilrukshi Wickramaratne. SHe too can come forward to corner PRESIDENT Sirisena, because I dont think the kind of Personalities of DW nature would ever stand against unjustices.
Ranil Wickramasinge is too decent not to have uttered any single comment on whatever being added by President these days, but he should react ACCORDINGly, else, the opinion of the society would drastically change in favour of SIRISENA. Latter is very unfair. I still believe, Ranil Wickramasinghe is THE VICTIM in SIRISENA-RW govt.

I accept what Sira says – he is an innocent, honorable and decent man. Nishantha Silva, Wijegunaratne all lies.

    • 4
      4

      SKM,
It is alright for you to accept Sirisena’s lies. But why he waited for 3.5 years?

No one understood what I actually meant.

      • 6
        1

People, be more perceptive; SKM is being sarcastic.

    • 3
      1

      SKM,

he is innocient ? I thought he was innocient until he became president

      1) Alone the way he appointed the most abusive SLFP bunch was the day we thought he is no longer innocient, it was just the hypocrasy

      2) Now he himself has been the MINISTER of law and order, but to order that CID chief officer N Silva to be transfered is beyond all ethics and morals.

      a) SIRISENA thought all would work as he thinks is right, but he has to repeal it

      b) Give us any good thing the bugger has won durin gthe last 3.5 years.
      c) Thanks to UNP peroformances the govt could just block UN resolution and any hard measures would have been taken against Ballige putha Rajakshepakse.
Else, it was not the knowledge of STUPID Sirisena s leadership.
      d) Ranil worked hard, but Sirisena harvested it. That is what was painted by local media.
      e) How can a man with that lower profile to lead a country ? also not having proper board of advisers him to take advices accordingly ?

Mr. Sagala Ratnayake: You are REMINDED of your “Telephone Call” to IGP re. “NILEME” . Remember, that “YES, SIR……YEAS, SIR…..I WILL NOT ALLOW TO DO THAT…….I WILL TAKE THE FILE”. You try to speak like a “Shrimp” (Issa) who caries “SHIT” on the HEAD. There are very many more instances like this with your “DIRECT” involvement. So better be “SILENT”. Your “BOSS” too got an “ANECDOTE” of what he did from AKD on 23rd, in Parliament. You remember that reference to “Siriliya” affair of “1st Lady” and her statement recording by the CID. This is not to “WHITE WASH” MY3. That transfer of CID Inspector was his “Direct” involvement and “Instructions” to IGP. What is most connected with that is so many have forgotten or ignore. It is the “Direct Involvement” of President in “Circumventing” the ARREST of Chief of Armed Services, Wujegunaratne, in spit of a COURT ORDER. Today, a “Key Witness” who made a statement leading to this Wijegunaratne’s involvement in the “Abduction” and “Murder” of those 11 youths, had been brutally assaulted in the Navy Mesh. This will be reported in the media shortly. So, Mr Sagala – We know you and your BOSSES actions during the last 3 1/2 years. Isn’t it better and advisable to KEEP SILENT and PACK YOUR BAGS to say GOOD BYE to Politic. That is the BEST SERVICE you can do to this country and the People.

Douglas@ with all respect to u, I think albeit some cases were not overlooked by many , the direct involvement of Sirisenavwas the crucial factor stood on the way eachtime not being able to continue for example Thadjudeen case related interrogations with Mahinda s wife. And now Sirisena s support to Navy head not allowing him being arrested for the probable murders of those 11 youths irrespective of court decision

We don’t like Ranil, mahinda and sirisena equally. But no one but we will decide who goes when. If sirisena can’t work with Ranil then it is you who should resign there by solving the problem without dragging the whole country and betraying the majority that voted for change in 2015. Sirisena should pu things back to
how itas a month ago and get lost. We will look after the rest. Moda logic.

    Mithiri

If you do not appoint Ranil who commands the parliamentary majority, you have to find your way out before being ousted.

Have you lost your senses and pulse? Go and see the astrologer of Mahinda who will tell your fate in the reversal.

Where is Gota and Basil? Why are they silent? Fearing forfeiture of their US citizenship?

Podi Putha Namal is mouthy. The chap who stole the tractors given by an NGO to the Tamils and created Namalpura in Vavuniya by grabbing Tamil lands is talking about releasing Tamil prisoners.

You can’t fool all the people all the time.

This hamu mahattaya from Matara is a classic example of a wimp who kept his mouth shut when it did him no good. What you and your master did in shutting up and never talking about what happened is the reason you got into this mess. It is useless expecting people like this to ever get some guts to to call a spade a spade. What I cannot fathom is why you keep on in politics if this is the way to go about it. This is not the time to withhold information you pea brained moron. Dish it out or give up politics if you cannot do so.

Sirisena is taking undue advantage of the decent and responsible manner RW, UNF ministers and members are conducting themselves. It is high time that RW and UNF divulged all improper activities and interferences by Sirisena during the past three and a half years. You cannot do maithree to a mad dog chasing after you to attack you. You have to do this fast on behalf of the country and its people.

Dear President, you don’t have to appoint Ranil as PM again as he is already the PM of SL.
It’s the responsibility of the Parliament to select a person who commands the support of most number of Parliamentarians on the ruling side.
I do hope that they will decide sooner or later on a new UNP leader and thereby you the President can be HAPPY again. I do hope that your NIGHTMARE ends asap.

He’ll go down in history as the most despicable asshole ever to occupy the ruler’s chair. Now the bugger is having a total meltdown right before the nation’s eyes because his coup is unravelling, and his sexual misconduct and criminal acts pertaining to bribery and obstruction of justice are about to be revealed to the public in full detail. He cannot fall asleep at 10 PM ever again for the rest of his life.

What is there to continue ?
President of the Nation has told the Public , Dr Ranil’s ex Police Minister Sagala Boy interfered with the Investigations of the High Profile Members of the previous Regime.
    That is serious.
Now Sagala Boy says if the President continues to make allegation he will tell all…
    Tell what?..

We know Sagala Boy was sacked from the Law & Order as well as Srikotha.
    Wonder who sacked Sagala?

90 % of the tragic events and turmoil unfolding in the country and the irreparable damage all of this has done to the country economically belongs to the imprudent conduct of Ranil, Sagala, Ravi coterie underscored by the CBSL Bond Scam. The President should have stopped appointing Arjun Mahendran the second time, if we are to believe all of his Harry Potter stories.

    • 0

Since you keep insisting on making false claims I am going to school you on some facts about the so called bond scam. Even if more than likely it will fall on deaf ears. An act of parliament was introduced and passed during the tenure of Mahinda Rajapkashe allowing the following S.O.Es. to trade in the CB issued bonds as primary dealers. They are the three states banks, ICSL, EPF and ETF. Now, PTL a private company ALSO became a primary dealer ILLEGALLY during the time of Mahinda Rajapkashe. It was speculated that there were close ties between Aloysius and the Rajapakshes. Then came the change of government. Mahendran becomes CB governor. PM asks CB governor to make sure his SIL divests his interests in PTL due to the conflict of interest. Subsequently PM runs into SIL Aloysius and asks him to confirm that he has indeed done as requested. He lies to the PM and says yes. All this is evidence in the presidential inquiry. In the meantime the government is suddenly confronted with the debt trap. Mahinda Rajapakshe had not settled his bills to a mayraid of contractors working on a number of construction projects. Some had in fact stopped work. Built into these unpaid bills were campaign contributions lavished upon the former president by these companies. When Mahinda Rajapakshe lost the presidential election he would have come to realize that he can spring this trap while goading Aloysius to go for the cup pulling all the strings to raise as much capital he can from the very institutions that were supposed to be primary dealers them selves while also bribing the agents EPF and ETF to under bid. This last act was to add more spice to the pot. There was another amoral clown who added more spice to this story RK the finance minister.

sirisena should understand that he is not life time president he will be thrown out in less that 1 year. He has no way evading RW becoming PM again. He has worked against the constitution enough now he will have to give in or get out. Not that RW is a saint or a leader of great stature, he is a selfish idiot. But he has to be reinstated to prevent any future presidents misusing their power. Sirisena does not seem to have the expertise or the ability to run a country. Simply he is not fit for the job. RW made the biggest mistake by appointing him as the common candidate

Both Ranil camp and Sirisena are equally responsible for delaying judicial action against rogues and murderers, but Sirisena is most conspiquous. We can very well remeber Sirisena’s public statement against Ms. Dilrukshi Wickremasinghe, DG, Bribery Commission when she summoned Gotabhaya and a few retired armed forces people, which led to Ms. Wickremasinghe resigning from her post as a mark of protecy against Sirisena’s interference. If Ms. Wickeremasinghe was there at least a few culprits would have been punished.

To put a long story short every politician in power interfered with Police Investigations in one way or the other. There can be so called independent Police Commissions. But the politician of the day has the ultimate power and can really interfere, primarily because on the average the personnel in the force are not clean. (So if you don’t do what I say, out comes your dirty linen.) Money to the greatest extent and influence from the powers that may be (which includes words from the Police top brass itself) are the main cause of derailing investigations. According to the knowledgeable, sexual favours also play a part. How many DIGG and ex-DIGG have got caught for various criminal acts? There is already one under death sentence. If on the whole, the police is straightforward and professional then no external party can interfere. Since Sagala too was once upon a time the Minister in charge of the subject, he should have done something about it as the poor pay is the root cause of poor performance of the police in particular and the public service in general. But he did not. Why? According to certain web articles, did not a wanted man (An economic criminal of the pre 2015 regime) dine in plush houses of Deniyaya along with the host and his big boss? If so and if the Police were truly independent everyone in the dining table would have been rounded up and what a scandal would that have caused?

Sagala, Knowing facts about a crime and not informing the authorities is itself a punishable crime. That makes Sagala a criminal. Now shouting ‘minee marwo’ is no good. You cannot escape form the fact that you, Ranil, MS are all crooks equally bad as the other gang.
