“Shrimath” Sirisena’s Darling Sajith

By Grusha Andrews

We are all looking for a hero. For hope. Our leaders loot our money, bond scam, and kill journalists, send rockets to space, appoint fake Prime Ministers in fly by night constitutional coups, spread religious extremism and deforest our earth. They do as quacks and astrologers advice and bathe statues with milk and perfumed waters in India.

When the constitutional coup of October 2018 happened people wanted to believe that at least some good came out of it for the largest democratic party in Sri Lanka, the United National Party (UNP). The UNP loyalists, tired of not having a UNP President in over 30 years thought of their ‘go-to’ answer: Sajith Premadasa. Finally, they thought, our opportunity to escape the jinx of Ranil’s unending defeats. A breath of fresh air, all those allegations of illegal excavating archeological treasures, demolition of Buddha statues, weren’t really proven and the then President’s son was never convicted, right? We can gloss over all that and label him our hope, they thought. After all, he elocutes English, he is educated, Ranil’s much wronged victim, the UNP’s messiah.

Well, they thought wrong.

Let’s go fact by fact.

Not A Graduate Of London School Of Economics and Political Science!

To quote Sajith’s own website: “A graduate of the London School of Economics (LSE) and Political Science of the University of London, his degree covered the areas of economics, politics and international relations. Following his BSc at LSE, Sajith decided to pursue a Master’s degree in Public Management at the University of Maryland, near Washington DC”.

If one dissects the convoluted words, it is obvious that Sajith never did graduate from LSE. The name of his degree is never mentioned, glossing over the truth with the words “areas covered”. In October 2013, Colombo Telegraph, in an exclusive exposé revealed that the educational status popularized in his website, Facebook page and paid biographies written, claiming that he graduated from LSE, was a lie. Sajith Premadasa accepted to Colombo Telegraph that he never graduated and an aegrotat “degree” was all he had.

What Is An Aegrotat “Degree”?

The aegrotat degree is a British tradition of awarding a degree to a candidate under the presumption that he or she would have satisfied the standard required for that degree, if not for intervening circumstances such as serious ill health or even death. It is, therefore, an exemption to the normal definition of a degree as an honors degree with a classification or a pass degree without classification.

It is in essence a document issued to a student who remained registered in a university, was not expelled, and did not have the capacity to finish the course work of the degree.

Screenshot from http://sajithpremadasa.org

An aegrotat “degree” does not denote any competence of the person for his registered course, because by definition it is issued to a person who never did obtain the education, required to graduate. Simply said, it is a document issued on shallow logic such as “talls for security – shorts for labourer” which Sajith Premadasa is quite familiar with.

Sajith: The Measles Medical Miracle

Speaking to Colombo Telegraph in 2013, Sajith Premadasa acknowledged that he had only sat for his first year exams at LSE because he had been “sick with measles and then a paralysis of his legs which prevented him from sitting for further exams”. His official website cleverly evades the year of his graduation from LSE. But extrapolating, one can estimate that he was in LSE between 1987 and 1992 because he finished high school in 1986 and was in university of Maryland USA in 1993 “studying for his Masters”.

According to the official epidemiological data of the United Kingdom, confirmed by Public Health England (PHE), there were no reported cases of Adult Measles in otherwise healthy adults in the UK between 1987 and1992. According to PHE, the oldest child to contract Measles in the UK during this time was 13 years old.

Further, lower limb paralysis as a complication of Adult Measles is exceptionally rare and does not last more than two weeks according to the systematic reviews and meta analyses published in peer reviewed journal articles that have analyzed global epidemiology of Measles in the last two centuries.

If Sajith’s was an ultra-secretive case of Adult Measles (a common childhood disease) resulting in paralysis preventing him from attending LSE for three full years, he is an amazing specimen, given that he walks just fine now. This case of Adult Measles that escaped the eyes of the vigilant British public health system, makes him not a political case study. He is a Medical case study.

However, these are only the independently verifiable data. The author is not privy to the personal medical records that are legally and ethically the confidential documents of Sajith Premadasa. These verifications have been carried out, comparing the statements issued by Sajith Premadasa himself about his illness to Colombo Telegraph with published official health statistics of the British Government.

Sajith Has No Masters In Public Management From Maryland University

The claim made by himself that he obtained a Master’s in Public Administration is also a blatant lie. In spite of the official websites, Facebook pages and paid biographies’ claims, Sajith Premadasa neither finished his MSc, nor graduated. In fact it was a “facilitated” period of a quasi- internship (which begs the question- “internship for what, exactly?”) done in the USA.

A Question Of Integrity

The constitution of Sri Lanka does not spell out any educational qualification requirement to be a member of parliament. However it warrants that he be of sane mind. There is a general erosion of the moral fabric of our society and there is a dangerous loss of faith of the public in politicians who have exhausted the public with day light robberies of public funds, lack of transparency and blatant lying.

Whether Sajith Premadasa has a degree from LSE or a Masters from Maryland University is less of an issue compared to the lack of integrity of Sajith Premadasa and his paid cronies who glorify him as the messiah of the UNP. A person who is a fundamental liar about his bio data is unlikely to deliver Sri Lanka to an era of integrity, good governance or prosperity.

No Inheritance, No Salary, No Petrol- Yet So Much Give Away Money?

The besotted UNPers, tired of Ranil and his antics are dreamy eyed about Sajith Premadasa. Our ears hurt listening to his repeated claims that he does not draw a salary, nor use an official vehicle or petrol. Sajith Premadasa’s father was born to abject poverty in to a household in Keselwatte in Central Colombo, home of slums, poverty and inequality.

Sajith Premadasa, therefore does not come from old money.

He has never done any job other than being a parliamentarian. And he does not collect a salary for the one job he had been doing. He does not appear to own any proclaimed business. However, whenever he visits a rural temple he donates 50,000 rupees of his own money to the temple. Further he donates lakhs to schools, charities and voters. Where does this money come from? Does money grow on trees in the Premadasa garden? Only someone minting money, like in a fictitious novel can have this sort of disposable wealth.

Sajith: A Root Cause Of UNP’s Erosion

The number one cause of UNP’s unsalvable erosion and degeneration is unarguably the undemocratic in-party politics of Ranil Wickremesinghe. His pig headed and leech like hold on to the party leadership created unprecedented and repeated defeats of the UNP. He alienated the rural voter base and the patriotic voters by coming through as a non–nationalistic, western valued misfit to our culture.

The main workload of tarnishing the image of Ranil was singlehandedly initiated and carried by the Maharaja Network, predominantly the Sirasa TV. The biggest lackey of Sirasa TV in the UNP was and is, Sajith Premadasa. The other lackeys were of the caliber of S M Marikkar, Buddhika Pathirana and Harsha De Silva.

Whilst Sirasa TV was executing unethical journalism, stooping to unbelievable depths of mudslinging and character assassination of the leader of the party, Sajith, the aspirant of leadership remained the darling of the TV channel. He went from door to door holding his characteristic pocket meetings criticizing the leader, portraying him as a stooge of the west, destroying his image. By doing this repeatedly for good 15 years Sajith has finally made a formidable contribution to thinning out the rural support for the UNP. These criticisms were telecasted over and over spilling the negativity to the whole country. Sajith today is a victim of the unwinnable UNP that he helped created with Sirasa TV.

Sajith: UNP’S Anti-Campaigner

In his 19 year long career in politics Sajith has not engaged in one cerebral discussion in a single TV program on governance, constitutional reforms, economics, ethnic conflict, international relations or policy reform. He has not contributed in any way to TV debates that drive the crucial election campaigns. All he has ever done is engaging in the anti-campaign, undoing the party efforts and running to Hambantota, criticizing Ranil during all elections.

He has been engaging in Rajapaksa style politics “gifting” houses as he pleases and naming “Udagam” after this man and that. Recently Poddala Jayantha, the brutalized journalist scathingly told Sajith pretty much to go to hell and reminding him of the track record of his father, infamous for sanctioning murders of prominent journalists during his rule.

Sajith: Darling Of Sirasa, Darling Of Sirisena

Whose darling you are will also reveal whose enemy you are. If you watch the video below, it will summarize the phenomenon called Sajith. President Ranasinghe Premadasa was the last president in three decades to call himself “Shrimath” (“exalted Sir”). He was a man oppressed by caste, social inequality and a victim of the English speaking “cultured” men who imparted their superiority complexes to give him a massive inferiority complex. Sajith of late is bestowing the honorary prefix of “Shrimath” in front of Maithripala Sirisena, without Sirisena ever asking anyone to do so. Sajith shrewdly understands the mentality of a man who has climbed the social ladder from small origins.  If you listen in the video below the love returned to Sajith by “Srimath” Sirisena, it will rest this article’s case.

Everyone with a half a brain knows that Sajith is lavishly spending the money his father looted while in power.
Unfortunately, if you look at the junior leadership of the UNP, they are all tainted with corruption and nepotism. Less said about the senior leadership, the better.

UNP is doomed. With or without the so-called 2nd tier, junior leaders. They are just as corrupt and are products of endless nepotism themselves. Stupid Sri Lankan electorate after being taken for a ride for 70 years, still has not learned a thing. Go on then! Despite all the warning signs, far too obvious, install Sajith P! Bloody idiots deserve no better. Cheers!

Why do you think UNP is doomed ?.
        .
So elaborate us please what is the reality of SLFP then ?. SLPP is the larger break away fraction is now seen not existing. If KUMARA Walgama or the like men would raise the question, Maifa BOSS and his OPPOSITION leader position would have to be investigated SOONer than later …. so COURT verdict will pave the way Maifa boss and his 50 thieves to be out of Parliament (based on they all left the party by which they were guranteed their seats in parliament – once they left the PARTY, holding to their seats would automatically be null and void).
        :
What is the reality of JVP in today s context ? (I think JVP has not achieved much – so the results would not be very different from the last election).

Who was invited to Rocket Rohitha’s wedding? RW, Sagala R & Mangala S. Not to mention Ravi K and later on Arjun A of Bond fame. While Sajith P had the cunning to stay away despite being personally invited by defeated Maha Raja. UNP is as rotten as SLFP or SLP PEE. What makes you think revolving power between those corrupt entities will rescue SL? When was your brain scanned last?
          Cheers!

I am not SP supporter. Neither am I a supporter to Mr RW. I as one look at SP today, even if he would not be able to claim his academic qualifications, he wont behave like his father had been towards the end of 80ties.
      :
We dont have enough leaders left behind by the long driven civil war. That is the reason why GRASS EATERS dominated nation forcefully feels that Rajaakshe looters would and could do lot irrespective of their sky-high fund grabs for their family and kith and kin. In this backdrop, I have no doubt, Sajith P will have lot more chances to become the leader for the country.
      :
What are the other options- AKD from JVP ?
      No way,
He just hunt after corrupted politicians and their high profile acts. But in a world where almost every one is part of corruption and abusive systems, what is the point of wasting time hung on EXCLUSIVELy corruptions ?
Corruption and aubsive cutlure is in built in lanken society. As if a boy that would never drink would be become isloated, average would never be able to see the line between the corrupted and less-or uncorrupted leaders.
      :
Not least but last JVPrs have no WHOLEHEARTEDNESS to vehemently against MEDIA mafia governing in the country. In real case they should get together with UNP to stand against Media mafia run by Rajapakshe goons.
      :
Nor have JVPrs any wholeheartedness to open about the OPINION that lease of state or public properties to CHINA or any other country – RAJAAKSHE goons for their advantage make every effort to paint the picture any ” LEASE” as ” SELLING out”.
But at the time, RAJAAKSHE themselves sold out a plot of land for building SHANGRILLA hotel, JVPrs shut their both ends and stayed as if THEY are deaf and blind.

      To be contd.

      to contine.
      .
JVPrs and their doublestandardness is becoming clearn to the PEOPLE. So, I dont think JVPrs will not be easy to win the heart and minds in order to get elected also for 2020.
If they want to achieve SOMETHING, wholeheardly, they should JOIN hand with TNA,UNP and all other ANTI RAJAAKSHE forces ::::: AND work die hard to bring a new constitution and rest on the election pledges.
I think UNP and JVP cant stay accusing each other for all what resulted in 89Insurgency. That they should DISCUSS openly as they can let alone today, and see it beyond can DEFEAT Rajakshe men once for all.
That will then be the REAL defeat of RAJAPKSHE FORCES that have now been mobilising extremists and racists in this country, seeking to grab power by hook or crook.

“Sajith decided to pursue a Master’s degree in Public Management at the University of Maryland”

I was an undergraduate at U of MD at the time; never saw him around.

There was a famous – more famous in Lanka and strangely not well known in the university – professor/scientist of Lankan origin who was friends with the senior Premadasa. Premedasa used to visit the university because of him. Don’t know if that had anything to do with it.

The scientist was trying to create life in the laboratory ………. but when his research hit a brick wall took to other things.

Why should majority of people in this country agree to conditions dictated by Vellala Demala politicians how this country should be governed?
After all they are a tiny minority who are the descendants of slaves brought to this country by colonial barbarians.
Sinhala MPs; Say NO to a new constitution that will lead to create a Confederate State. If you say YES, you are digging your own grave in political career.

      .
Your response is off topic and represents a cut and paste job of what you routinely do. Subjects like the Constitution of Sri Lanka need serious discussion. Your comments usually turn any discussion into a farce, owing to your scattering insulting terms which don’t mean a thing.

But from what I hear each time travelling back to the Island, I dont see not much towards the attitudes of the people, specially on ethinc issues., have been improved. People s thinking move on a curve. Media men abuse the situation and make their living and profits. Talks shows or public discourses that would improve the awarness of the people are not yet plenty neither on visual nor printed media. University dons have no place being given in the society as Gurus to take the lead in that great TASK either.

Moda Eagle Blibd Eye, have you ever been to school or another imposter like Sajith? Foolish man why did Dutte Guamani said that one side sea and other side dhemalu? What do you mean by that? Ask from someone who knows history as to who is Dutte? He is a Naga Buddhist king whose parents were Hindus. Who is Vijayan according to Mahavamsa ? When he landed was he a sinhalaya or a Buddhist or what? When did Buddhism finally come into Ceylon? Why did they use Pali and Prakrit to write Mahavamsa and other Lankan jathakas? By then don’t you know Tamil was flourishing in South India and Ceylon?

Come on man get it clear your rabid racism and totally distorted history will not take you anywhere except producing bogus leaders and uninformed clergy trying to cover up the huge gap in truth. Some may say that I am a fool to address you but I feel it is my duty to show what truth is.

No need to agree to conditions dictated by Vellala, Govia, or Wahabi politicians.
Why should the people agree to conditions dictated by Majoritarian politicians for they have more stupid people among themselves than the minority people?

Majoritarian – governed by or believing in decision by a majority.

The dictionary does not say Majoritarian means wisdom, clever, compassionate, honest, secular, sane, ………………………………

Sirisena is lying to the nation because he hates Ranil.

Ranil personally spoke to Indian PM Modi and obtained the service as a gift. Harsha De Silva does not have such guts and strength.

      Mr./Ms JD
Be rest assured that I am an independent writer to Colombo Telegraph. I do not have to be “pissed off” on behalf of anyone.
The internal party politics of UNP is not the topic of this article. What has been written in this article has been substantiated with facts.
If Sajith Premadasa refused the Premiership 71 times, kudos to him.
That does not make him a graduate of LSE or Maryland University. That does not absolve him from the facts presented here.
      Thank you

    Dear Grusha,
    .
What an unwelcome article! Yes, I, too, am so disenchanted with the leadership possibilities for Sri Lanka, that I am still hoping that Sajith will turn out to be an inspiring and effective leader. He has not been as abrasive as other politicians, and I think that he has been patient with Ranil who has been so undemocratic in how he controls the UNP.
    .
So, Grusha, I am one of those voters whom you have implicitly lambasted to being naive. We thought we had found a possible leader in Kumar Sangakkara, but then you demolished him owing to all the unethical advertising that you exposed. How cruel you are to the likes of me!
    .
I hope that Sajith will counter all these claims of yours and confirm himself as our great hope. Yes, Grusha, you have now given Sajith to clear himself of all the malicious whispers that have been going on about him. However, if Sajith doesn’t come up with explanations, doesn’t start participating in discussions in which he sets out his position on some of the pressing issues that confront us, then I think that people like me will have to rethink our looking to him as our champion. You would have done our country a great favour. It is up to Sajith to respond to these castigations himself. As you say, he uses English effectively, so there is no excuse. I haven’t yet checked whether you have given the country all this in Sinhala as well.
    .
I have been uncomfortable with how Sajith seems to avoid the limelight always and seems to mean all things to all people.

      Are you suffering from vertigo?
You seem to spin your head in every nook and corner you occupy.
Plato, our regular commentator seem to think so. He is also concerned about your well being. Read below:

Vertigo is a symptom, rather than a condition itself. It’s the sensation that you, or the environment around you, is moving or spinning.

This feeling may be barely noticeable, or it may be so severe that you find it difficult to keep your balance and do everyday tasks.

Attacks of vertigo can develop suddenly and last for a few seconds, or they may last much longer. If you have severe vertigo, your symptoms may be constant and last for several days, making normal life very difficult.

Other symptoms associated with vertigo may include:

loss of balance – which can make it difficult to stand or walk
      feeling sick or being sick
      dizziness

Shrimath [ Aiyo! ] Sirisena has apparently mastered that old Westminster style of Divide and Rule. So he thinks.
His co-habitation with Sajith is to divide the UNP. So he thinks.

His appointment of Hisbullah as Eastern Governor is to divide the Tamils and the Muslims in the East. Here he has hit a Bulls-Eye.[ Poor Sampanthan has to now discard his Bulls-Eye for Breakfast and go for
    an Omlette]
His constitutional coup of oct:26th has made quite a dent in the MaRa camp.
MaRa is now seen as an unconstitutional guy!

There are many more of his style of Governance, which has been infamously dubbed by him as YAHAPALANAYA.

Hisbullah is already busy dividing the Tamils and Muslim Tamils in the east even further , as per his master Sirisena’s bidding, by only appointing Muslims, to various top posts in the eastern province, where Tamils are still the largest community.
The chief minister of the east is Muslim and the governor of the east is Muslim in a historically Tamil Hindu province , where still the Tamils are the largest community , despite all the killings land grabbing , Sinhalese colonisation and ethnic cleansing. This government and this Isis Wahhabi chief minister and governor want to marginalise the Tamils of the east and make them slaves in their own land.

        SIva Sankaran Sharma:

Since don’t like a Muslim to be Chief Minister and a Governor in a Tamil majority area, how can you justify 50/50 claim of Tamils when the total population of Tamils were less than 7%?

Why do you think that a chief minister not from your religion is making Tamils slaves?

My personal suggestion is, wherever Tamils are at large, don’t make a Tamil the Chief Minister. If he is from high caste, he is going to treat low caste Tamils as slaves. If he is low caste, other high caste Tamils will not support his development projects.

    Ms. Andrews,

I don’t know the truth about Sajith Premadasa’s educational adventures, but there is something you should be aware of. While Sajith was enrolled as a student in the US, his father was assassinated, and he returned to SL for the funeral. He probably never returned to the US again. He might have been trying to please his stern father by staying on as a student in the UK and the US, but once the pressure from his father was no more, he might have lost all motivation to stay on as a student.

Oh! The chip in the shoulder must be very painful!
    Sajith Premadasa is no Messiah.
He is definitely the best of the known devils!

      Upul

“He is definitely the best of the known devils!”

      Do you think so? Why?
Some years ago he proposed during one of those UNP top level internal meetings to turn this country into a Bhumiputra System of governance. Since you seem to think “He is definitely the best of the known devils!” could you explain to us as to what exactly he meant by Bhumiputra System of governance?

Sajith is not a finger nail of late Premadasa president. Dulanjali would have been a better bet

    • 9
      0

Yes Dulanjali duwa. The Island had a picture of her in the classroom of an international school meant for foreign children. At the time no Sri Lankan was allowed to enroll in those schools. After a week of embarrassment the law was changed so that anyone could enroll, as long as they could afford the fees. That was President Premadasa looking after his daughter.

Latest – Sajith Premadasa has given false hope to Ranjan Ramanayake that a top position be given to him if came to power. So Ranjan Rmanayake is doing things to undercut Ranil who gave him chance in the first place

If I remember correctly, sometimes back, there was a CT report suggesting that Sirasa supports Navin Dissanayake. Now this is the opinion of Grusha Andrews.

If Ranil had worn a national dress, visited temples so often than attending parliament, used the word “Yakoo” often in his speeches, chewed some “bulath” time to time, he could have won the hearts of village masses.

Could you forward your advice to Ranil’s spin doctors.

The post 52-day crisis has actually put the Govt. UNP, TNA etc. in a disarray. MR cleverly unseated Sampanthan Seeya thus Sumanthiran & TNA have been silenced. Medamulanas are reinforcing their positions and their support base is getting stronger by the day. RW stands more or less isolated and no doubt Sajith poses a threat to him. It is obvious here the writer is trying to mitigate the danger posed by Sajith, Navin & other elements within UNP against RW. The ground reality however is very different, the SL Customs agitation may be the beginning and more chaos could be expected, whilst the country is plunged in crimes such as murders, gun violence, drug smuggling etc. law enforcement & police are powerless.

Thank you, Grusha, for taking the trouble to give us your take on SP. About the undergrad degree, I was aware (pretty shocked by the deceit), but I didnt know about the Maharaja connection or his absence from TV debates etc (am deaf so cant hear them or TV news), or his not getting a salary, & gifting from “his own money” all these houses. I have no problem with a politician’s social origins & was impressed by his behaviour when he did not accept the PM ship when offered by MS. But still couldnt see him as PM or Prez. But in the absence of any real choice (Eran & Harsha, apart from maybe being too young, now seem to have other disqualifications, + I dont know anything about Navin D), who else? Are there any good dark horses?

I don’t support any party, so elections always present a dilemma. What on earth can we do until a new generation throws up quality people we can trust with governance?. Alas, I shall not live to see that day.

After the (pyrrhic?) victory against the coup, will we (“middle/old-aged, elite, Colombo-based, civil society”) have to pull ourselves out of our wheelchairs to man the barricades again, this time against the UNP’s attempt to increase the already out-size cabinet?

How on earth do we get rid of all these crooks *+ worse)?

      Manel Fonseka

Just before the 2015 Presidential Elections, Harsha told
“I am telling to the world. We (UNP and myself), will not allow anybody to take President Rajapaksa or any other leader to International court about War Crimes, We will not allow the President whether he won or lose to be tried before war crime tribunals,”

-“I am a proud Southerner and a Sinhala Buddhist. I have no desire whatsoever to align with the Tigers and betray my country,” the MP stressed responding to the accusation against him from the government Minister.
      http://www.colombopage.com/archive_14B/Nov24_1416845441CH.php

      Manel

I still don’t understand what makes him proud of being a Southerner and a Sinhala Buddhist? Does not he have any other identities which could make him prouder?

Navin Nayakka has lot of explaining to do about his upbringing, inheritance, about the destruction of Jaffna Library, and the letters he wrote to the British parliamentarians in support of Brig Priyankara Fernando’s behaviour. Do you want these racists to rule this island.

I do not understand why these emotionally weak opportunists need to hide behind various racist masks.

“He went from door to door holding his characteristic pocket meetings criticizing the leader, portraying him as a stooge of the west, destroying his image. By doing this repeatedly for good 15 years Sajith has finally made a formidable contribution to thinning out the rural support for the UNP. These criticisms were telecasted over and over spilling the negativity to the whole country.”

Now that’s unsubstantiated, and could have done with at least one embedded video or link as proof. Right now it looks more than a bit of a reach; more than spin; it reeks of fake news.

It also reads like the stuff that was said about Premadasa Sr. except for the brief moment in 1988 that his party turned to him on its knees. History does record that the patriotic ( or nationalist) populist Premadasa Sr. was the last President from that party who was elected to office. That was in January 1989, 30 years ( THREE DECADES) ago!

        Paul,
        .
Dayana Jayathilaka Silva aka Self Proclaimed PoLymophic creature is a greater threat to lanken people. He is the n umber one – rabblerouser. Telling something and doing otherway around – has been proved him by his charactor. This man was found pants down in early 90ties, but when he would have to face the same or worst is nearing as I feel it today.
        :
This man has never been consistent and dont know what he has been talking about. There no peer journal papers to prove that his is above any others. But his god fathers, most abusive Rajaakshes abuse this boy for their condom/viagra business back and forth. This man went through torments of tantalus until, he took sillysena for a ride. Shitsena/aka Sillysena is easy to abuse. This would be clear to subhuman species too.

what you say about sajiths bogus credentialals are correct
.he is spending money that jr left to the party which his father appropriated when he became president
but this could be said of most politicos
however the fact remains that had ranil stepped down in favour of his deputy when sira offered it to the latter the national govt would have continued to 2020 and there would have been no constitutional coup it is ranils foolish behaviour that has caused this unnecessary trouble with sira

A very readerable account by Grusha, worthy of deliberation . What has been stated about two TV channels is now common knowledge in the public domain.

The two channels went overboard on unethical journalism and has lost their viewership.

Sajith’s inside story if true will be a revelation.

Well there are many of us who have not forgotten of what took place when Sajith Premadasa’s ” maage piyaano”was the ruler and how the family and their cronies benefitted.

Has this man ever managed to stand on his own without hiding behind the shadows of his late father?
It is much better for UNP to be in political wilderness if they cannot find a suitable leader rather than the country be doomed once again under another Premadasa

As apparent, there is a ternion between Maithri, Gotabhaya and Sajith.
Maithri’s presidential candidature is only a hoodwink.
Dudley Sirisena entering the scene is also pre-planned.
A number of MPs in the JO will also support them. The top in the list is my friend Wimal Weerawansa who sings non-stop hosannas to Gotabhaya and Maithri. He thinks that Gotabhaya is the only person who can win the Presidential election. (Well, WW is meant to get the surprise of his life and the disappointment will cause him go insane when the result is out.)
Many attempts seem to be in place already to discourage and intimidate new contenders against Gotabhaya, in order to make the path clear for him..
What will happen? Surely, not what they anticipate. Even together, they can’t secure 50% votes.
We are still not aware of other contenders. Most probably the next President will be an apolitical man.
Sri Lanka is not a private property of a handful of people who think that power, wealth, terror and ready-made campaign financing can decide rulers of the country.
We have already seen what all top people in politics, their kith and kin and their supporters could do and how excessive they were/are. There is NO WAY we go on the same path again.
Sri Lanka is not lack of leaders. I am sure someone will toss the hat into the ring and change the entire scenario.

Everyone has weaknesses but it seems like this is a paid job to tarnish the image of the potential presidential candidate of unp in order to bring Akila ( Ranils boy ) or Patali as next candidate so that born to loose leader ranil can be pm again. Anyway ranil has single handedly destroyed unp and they will loose next election for sure.

A favourite past time of Lankans politrickkas – “neck-cutting” – is now on high fear with the General Elections around the corner. In other words, the entire Premadasa family appear to be political lepers. Good ole Carl Jung was not off the mark when he quipped “Nothing straight can come out of crooked timber”
