Thajudeen Murder Case; UPFA Wants Country To Return To Lawlessness: AHRC

Yesterday, the CID filed a report at the Magistrates Court of Colombo, seeking to re-open criminal proceedings regarding the alleged murder of the rugby player Wasim Thajudeen. Wasim, who was a well known rugby player and voted as the most popular ruggerite for the year 2009 by Caltex Observer Touchdown Rugby quiz, was found dead on 16 May 2012.

Yoshitha Rajapaksa

Yoshitha Rajapaksa

Previously, due to political pressure, police had filed reports alleging that the death of Wasim Thajudeen had been due to a road accident and that there was no foul play involved. However, as there were complaints disputing this position and alleging murder, the CID proceeded to inquire into such complaints and has now found reason to believe that the rugby player was in fact murdered and that the crime scene had been rearranged to create the impression of a road accident. Yesterday, July 27, the CID informed the Colombo Additional Magistrate that Thajudeen’s death was not an accident.

According to reports, suspects for this death include a son of the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Yoshitha Rajapaksa and a former Senior DIG is suspected to be involved in covering up the crime. Newly discovered details suggest a sophisticated crime, carried out with the involvement of many, including some PSD officers.

Issuing a statement today the Asian Human Rights Commission says; “Hushing up of such crimes was common during the Mahinda Rajapaksa regime. The long list of crimes includes murder, abduction, corruption, and misuse of state resources. Already, reports have been filed in courts against several strong men of the last regime, including Basil Rajapaksa, a powerful minister who is also a brother of the former President. Many more inquiries are pending.

“The aim of the United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA), whose election operation is being led by former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, is to return to the style of the former regime, which undermined the criminal justice process of Sri Lanka to create an enabling environment for corruption, abuse of power, and other crime. The newly elected President Maithripala Sirisena himself alerted the country of this danger through a telecast to the nation.

“The core issue for the electorate in the 17 August election is about the virtual suspension of the criminal justice system and the paralysing of all state agencies, whose duty it is to protect the rule of law. Sri Lanka, which has suffered several decades of lawlessness, is once again faced with the possibility of the collapse of all of its justice institutions.

“The country has barely returned to functioning justice institutions, howsoever inadequate. This is time to make them work more efficiently and not the time go back to the rot that they were during the last regime. It should be the duty of all citizens to do all they can do to stop such a catastrophe.”

These are”ROYAL” murders and the family is much involved in it. No lesser person than
the MS disclosed of his being aware of MR using a shot-gun on a rival at a political
gathering some years ago. A Canadian journalist visiting the South disclosed the murder
of MR s first wife and how the file was “lost” on Ranils intervention and the ASP
involved in the inquiry is living and will bear testimony??

The delay of 3 yrs. in the inquiries of the murder of this rugby player was no doubt with
Police conivence and Medical Officers providing false Reports. This aspect needs the
    intervention of the BASL.

The recent assasination of one Ukkuwa in Matara may have a bearing to Wasims Case.

Rugby player Wasim Thajudeen’s murder was covered up by then SDIG Mr Anura Senananyaka , apparently the murder was carried out by the secret murder squad of Mafia king for Yoshitha R . any suspicious murder which took place during the period of 2006 to 2015 , got to be associated with the Mafia family . few of such mysterious murder cases are , Sripathi S (may be Anura B’s sudden demise ), Trinco 5 , 17 Aid workers mass murder in Muttur , Lasantha W , Prageeth E , two University students death on the eve of FUTA strike , two human right defenders (Lalith Kumar Weeraraj and Kugan Muruganandan ) , Walikada prison massacre etc .

PS: Karma is coming after the whole Mafia family , none can escape the country since their passports been impounded , what an irony ?

        Srilal,

“Karma is coming after the whole Mafia family”

I certainly hope you are right.

However, I would protect myself against too much optimism for the time being.

It has taken nearly 8 months since Good Governance gang came to power for CID to admit real facts.

Powerful people among new kids in town, for some reason are unwilling go after former ruling mafia family, with all guns blazing.

        Cheers!

RE: Thajudeen Murder Case; UPFA Wants Country To Return To Lawlessness: AHRC

If the system cannot handle it, the People need to have a secret Law and Order Group to handle such cases and deliver Justice.

There is a need for The Peoples Black Warriors for Law and order to punish such “Royal” Criminals.

Needed: Peoples Task Force and Fund To Punish “Royal” Criminals.

What a joke? Since when these CT commenters got licence to unfairly judge innocent people without seeing a single evidence?

Pathetic UNP is trying all lame tactics to mislead people. Actually they are misleading their own supporters only because the intelligent voters are not ready to buy these made up stories. They have moved on.

UNP has no proof at all to show that Yoshitha has any involvement. If they had any, they wouldn’t wait for 7 months. These are “mushroom allegations” come out only during election period.

On August 17 people will prove that they have moved on a great deal since January 8. Despite all ‘mushroom allegations’, the UPFA led by Mahinda Rajapaksa is heading for an stunning victory.

        Champa ,

You just go on singing the same old boring story over and over , according to your day dream , Mafia King is going to be the PM after Aug 18 , right ? may i ask you , where were you before 8 th jan ? all the Mafia supporters were singing the same song as now , then , but with the Mega phones 24×7 , what happened in the end ? Mafia king had to seek Ranil’s assistance to escort him out of Temple trees , where were all that “Bath balayos” then ? hiding under their beds ?

Forget about Mafia King becoming PM , instead he is going to spend rest of his life behind bars along with his immediate family members , only Chamal may be spared , mark my word Champa !

PS: As to Yoshitha’s involvement , don’t worry too much about it , all the ground work has been completed , arrest is imminent !

You all are only dreaming of putting Mahinda in jail. It will never happen. People who eat rice in this country (they are not “bathbalayos” as you claim) are there to stop that. They will come forward at the right time. Mark my word.

I defend Mahinda always, doesn’t matter 24/7. Mahinda conceded defeat gracefully. He ‘summoned’ Ranil to Temple Trees and made sure the smooth transition of power. Nobody left Mahinda because of his defeat. All 5.8 million of people were with him then and now too. Only difference is many more people have joined his supporters during the last 7 months. It was Sirisena and Ranil whom people abandoned. Misleading has a short life.

Yoshitha is innocent until proven guilty, which the UNP liars will never be able to do.

What is this thing about “disclosed the murder of MR s first wife and how the file was “lost” on Ranils intervention.”?

I didn’t know that Mahinda Rajapaksa had another wife before he married Shiranthi. This is news indeed!

Could somebody please enlighten us? I made a cursory search; the Wikipedia entry has nothing of this.

I’ll cut my throat if yoshitha Rajapakse is arrested for this case even if he is found guilty.. that is not going to happen mate… no justice institute in SL can call that shot because MR will use all his powers to make it not happen.. u r waisting ur time writing these articles.. (ya sometimes they may lock him up for couple of days but that is not 100% justice.. right?)

Finally some one is telling the real fact as is no higher up from the last regime will be ever prosecuted they will carry on as they have done before. This is the country who gave a Ministerial post to a Terrorist mass Murderer Karuna Amman and let Kudu Duminda free. Arajuna Mahendran and Ear Bitter from UNP saga under PM RW only proved the fact nothing has changed and will changed. Loud mouth LTTE sympathizers living off shore can brag how they going to take Rajapaksa to International Court of justice in Haig. Last time I read that was yesterday Rajapaks is still in politics he never left even to make a come back and very well be taking the helm soon. Who knows one day Karma might follow Yoshitha and the rest if he is guilty end up been likes of Saife Gaddafi baring that happening it will be business as usual in Paradise so many trying to runaway every day by hook or crook.

    LIKE FATHER LIKE SON.

No wonder that the son of the father who is purported [Edited out] and murdered an aspiring Ruggerite in the prime of his life.

It is simply unbelievable, how these two legged animals behave in such brute manner to a fellow human being. Killing him instantly with a bullet or even a sharp object with the intent of killing if that brat had a personal vengeance against the individual, it can be at least understandable.

This is cannibalistic brutality at it’s height, to break the teeth, the knee cap, cutting the thigh muscle with broken glasses. What Animal can do that except the SON OF OUR GREAT LEADER MARA THE MURDERER AND PLUNDERER.

I dedicate this comment to the 5.2 Million idiots who voted FOR this MURDEROUS MONSTER AND THE LEARNED FOOLS LIKE DAYAN THE D…..,CHEAP JUSTICE SARATH, AND ALL THOSE IDIOTS WHO STILL POST COMMENTS IN FAVOUR OF THIS MURDEROUS FAMILY.

Unfortunately the present president Sirisena is aiding and abetting Mahinda Rajapaksa’s return to power due to some mysterious reason. He has punished the 5 people who fled with him while he himself has gone back to his old buddies and became the president of that party. Is someone blackmailing Sirisena?.

Politics is a game and My3 is a lot smarter than we give him credit for.
MR’s supporters wanted the Central Committee to convene in order to take disciplinary action against those 5 SLFP members who are contesting with the UNFGG.

I suspect My3 suspended their membership so that the Central Committee no longer has a reason to convene.

What’s the problem with convening the Central Committee, you ask? MR’s supporters within the UPFA/SLFP can attempt to oust My3 as the chairman of both parties which will give them more freedom to run the election campaign the way they want.

Have faith. Don’t jump ship the moment you don’t understand something.

The new PM whether it is Ranil or MR has a job to do ASAP. i.e. To impeach the present president who can not be trusted. He is evading to clarify why he met MR the third time. He need to be chased away. He got that embarrassed face these days.

            • 5
              0

If he reveals why he met MR, the cat will be out of the bag.
Trust me, MY3 has a grand plan to make sure MR is never a PM of this country.
We all know that MR will ruin this country if he comes into power again. The rich will get rich and the poor will get poorer. Open your eyes and keep your ears to the street and you’ll see the pattern.

              • 1
                4

Hmm So MY3 met MR a third time but both were lying about this meeting saying that they never met. However, MY3 told on that famous meeting with the media that he met MR THREE times. This proves that Maithripala Sirisena is a lier.

                  1

It seems you don’t understand the concept of strategy.
MY3 may very well be lying to MR for a particular reason, and to make MR believe MY3 was neutral with him, MY3 may have had to lie to us for the greater good. This is to prevent MR from taking over forcibly.

The ideal world doesn’t exist. Sometimes, we have to suffer a lie or two for the greater good. Utopia is the dream of an idealist fool. Welcome to the real world.

Just be patient and watch as the events unfold and maybe it will make more sense with time.

Who is the Asian Human Rights Commission? Who funds them? How can they make a statement on the intentions of the UPFA of which the current president is a high ranking member?

what a ridiculous set of jokers ! To have killed a man and then put the body in a fast car and then slam the car with the corpse in the drivers seat to a wall facing the road in the heart of Colombo ( park Road)would have indeed needed the full corporation of the CIA, FBI , MOSSAD, Internal affairs and also also all those using & living in Park Road .

Although it was late night park Road is a quite busy road in a populated area. The set up or rather the staging of the accident would have required so many hands. I assume a corpse cannot drive .Would it have not been easier to just kill him and dump the body ? Same thing -who did it ?.

I think all these people write with hatred and ignorance. Also giving super natural intelligence and CIA like abilities to those they wish to implicate in all sorts of crime. The reality is that the average sri lankan cannot ( average IQ 75 remember ? )perform any given task to international standards. They cannot serve a cup of tea without spilling it all over the saucer.Crudeness and incompetence is their hall mark. But only in crime do they show a IQ of above 130 ! Ha Ha Ha

If Wasim died due to the fire caused by the accident, Wasims lungs should have the signs of smoke inhalation – which was not found as per Reports – which points to the murdered

No one is above the law, not even the Rajapaksa’s. Although they behaved like they were entitled to kill, kidnap, threaten, steal, and get away with it. Time those involved in this terrible crime, and covered it, must be held accountable and face a court of law. Subjects live at the pleasure of monarch, if a subject fell in love with the girl friend of a prince, unfortunately a number of things could befall to him. He could be pardoned or, deported to somewhere he wanted to live or he would be given a send off altogether from this planet. Even worse if the subject is a minority, because even if the final nail about to be driven to the prince’s coffin by any rare chance, still he could be saved by playing the race card.

What a way to kill ?

What a way to lose a dashing son , for the poor grieving parents of Tajudeens.

The culprits must be given life sentence for the gruesome killing.

So too the. sons of former big man of Kandy who are free as birds after the killing of 13 innocent young boys while they were fasting, who shot these youths through their mouths.

What barbarism ,and now as the saying goes birds of a feather flock together, the daughter of one killer is the current girlfriend of the other.

Now a “different” investigation says, it was a “murder” and claims “falsification” of documents and “willful neglect” in the collection of related evidence. Now TWO matters have to be SOLVED: viz (1) Why was it “declared” an “accidental death” and WHO did that? (2) WHO were “responsible and involved” in the “murder”?. As this is a case of a very serious nature of an “Unsolved Mystery”, it is imperative the courts must move SWIFTLY and DECISIVELY, without leaving any room to linger “suspicion”. This is an instance our JUDICIARY must show its strength and capacity to stand “Independent”. Till then let us be patient, but “Vigilant”. On the other hand it is imperative that the “Law Enforcement Authorities” also to move “SWIFTLY” and “DECISIVELY” in the matter and conclude investigations, without resorting to making a “Media Circus” by holding media briefings. If they do their part “well” media will pick it up without any “promptings”.

All “DEEDS” will follow their RESULTS like the two wheels of the cart. That is the DHAMMA – the LAW OF NATURE.

The fact that MR and family were involved in all these mysterious murders and corrupt practices is not news, what is news is how MS and RW have let him and the family go scot free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. They are the bigger criminals.

I vividly remember the photo displayed of the accident at that time. The story was that the car had met with an accident and had caught fire. What I noticed was that the branch that hung just above the car had no sign of being exposed to fire. Therefore it was obvious the car did not burn under that tree, but elsewhere and dumped at this point. This was just common knowledge that should have been probed at that time, but who cared as there were so many unresolved murders.

I concur. Congratulations, you cracked the case, just like Lieutenant Columbo the famous (TV) detective played by Peter Falk.

Million Dollar question is RW and MS ?? Will they have the will power to solve all the crimes committed by the last Regime??
Will they be allowed to go scot free?? How serious are the Good Governance ?? Are they committed to solve these crimes.

They want our votes will they deliver the GOODS as promised?? Will there be a revolution by the TIMID BHODI – Srilankans if nothing materialise after the election and let the criminals to roam freely and allow them to cover up their crimes??
We are here to speak and write with no fear now.
The fear is FREEDOM FOUND IS FREEDOM LOST. LETS HOPE WE WILL NEVER FACE AND LIVE IN THE KIND OF SIN LAND AGAIN .
    FREEDOM INDEED WE HOPE FOR.

The judiciary is essentially corrupt. The bribery commission while being run by an efficient lady still clings on to a crooked chairmen who wont report to work but sits at home keeping with him some of the best documented cases that have been completed and ready action. The same IGP who looked the other way while all this went on remains in his office while some of his crooked mates are recalled into active duty by the shady John police. The PSD of the former scoundrel remains intact continuing to give him VIP security. Even when he has abrogated any claim to benefits he can receive as a former head of state by greedily running again only feeble attempts have been made to recall this monstrosity. MR was a murderer long before he became president. Yet the current lot promised to protect him when they campaigned in the presidential election and so now keep up the charade. Long before MR became president when the murders he ordered started catching up to him he was let off the hook by the direct intervention of our dear PM who was PM at the time. He does have a lot to answer if he keeps this up any longer. Regardless of what promises RW and MS made to protect this scoundrel and his family this case must be prosecuted to its fullest. Any official who gets in the way has to be dismissed.

“Who is the Asian Human Rights Commission? Who funds them? How can they make a statement on the intentions of the UPFA of which the current president is a high ranking member?” – vANGUARD
AHRC IS BASIL F’DO. FUNDING COMES FROM AN ALLEGED DANISH GOVT ORG CONNECTED TO THEIR FOREIGN MINISTRY.
AGAINST UPFA BECAUSE THANKS TO YAHAPALANAYA WAS ABLE TO MAKE A VISIT TO SRI LANKA. BECAUSE HE HAD TO RUNAWAY FROM JVP DURING JVP BUT SINCE AKD HAS TURNED “RED ELEPHANT” NOW NO PROBLEM.

…….Asian Human Rights Commission says; “Hushing up of such crimes was common during the Mahinda Rajapaksa regime.”

Of course the directors of the AHRC know all there is to know about hushing up crimes……..

The “Asian Human Rights Commission” is another Western proxy. By defeating the LTTE, Rajapakse also dealt a stunning blow to the 1001 NGO’s and other “human rights” groups that were profiting left & right from the war. Had the “Eelam project” gone to completion, some of these guys, like Solheim, would have minted millions. Of course, things didn’t go their way, so in a vindictive rage, they seek to defame former President Rajapakse & even his family. My condolences to the family of Wasim Thajudeen. However, they should not turn to groups like “AHRC” with Western agendas. Let the Courts do their work, seek a private settlement (if possible), and keep the media away.

Mahinda has a good rapport with Ranil, such as carpeting the road in front of the Siri Kotha, to prevent Sajith’s supporters attending a meeting. Hence, there is a high probability of not indicting YR for this crime.
