IGP Must Resign Or Face Impeachment: Senior Ministers

In view of video evidence that has surfaced today IGP Pujith Jayasundara faces possible termination of services should impeachment proceedings be initiated against him in Parliament, sourcese closed to the President told Colombo Telegraph.

In an incident that had taken place a few months ago, on 11 April 2017, the IGP had assaulted a lift operator. It is reported that he had been incensed that the said lift operator had not attended a meditation program he had made compulsory for all staff in the morning. In the same video, which is going viral on social media, the IGP is caught threatening to rape a receptionist.

According to the Constitution the IGP cannot be removed by either the President or the Minister for Law and Order.

“As per the emerging culture of good governance the IGP ought to resign forthwith and Parliament should take up the issue as a matter of priority and principle,” a few senior ministers told Colombo Telegraph. “The President is advised,” they further said.

I have been summoned by two commissions as a sequel to complaints I have lodged.

I found them utterly unprofessional, disorganized devoid of any knowledge of their duties and responsibilities. They are experts at supplying bullet proof vests to keep the criminals safe and sound.

These commissions are ideal green pastures for lucky few with good connections to spend their retirement or waning years in luxurious comfort at the poor tax payers expense.

100% correct. Commissioners are simple blood-suckers too. Just enjoying high life. Financed by those who slave in he ME, by poor who pay tax via sugar and flour. Even by the sick who are taxed via life-saving drugs. Terrible!

        Ben Hurling

Well I totally agree with you what you say. What are we going to do about it, another regime change perhaps?

The people of all races have to realise that the country has been in structural crisis since 1948. Neither regime change nor communal politics will ever begin to free this island from the clutches of the most corrupt criminals, both politicians and the state functionaries.

In fact one complements the other.

People need to calm down. This is a Police officer in Uniform. He has to maintain law and order. In order to do that, certain things he does behind closed doors may not be agreeable to ordinary simpletons.

Besides physical action is sometimes an absolute must when dealing with Sri Lankan public. Sri Lankan public are most times the worst ruffians in the world. A Big batton stick and some good heavy boots are needed by Law enforcement every now and then.

      Rtd. Lt. Reginald Shamal Perera,
Please tell me you received regular spankings from your superiors, prior to your enforced retirement. Did you enjoy those beatings on your bottom to keep you well-behaved?
      Cheers!

        Ben Hirling,

I am not a Burgher bugger who got buggered all the time like you. Don’t judge everyone through your own standards.

I am a retired veteran of the Armed forces of SL old enough to be your Pater. Don’t you ever talk to me like that Son. If you can’t resit the urge to abuse elders, call upon your Pater and give him some of that nonsense talk.

Rtd. Lt. Reginald Shamal Perera, you retired from the army ONLY as a Lt.? Pretty sad mate. All those years spent in the army, finally amounted only to a Lt., position? Don’t even put your rank here, it is embarrassing. In your previous comments you mentioned simpletons, did you mean yourself?

Why did you have to bring the Burghers into this? what makes you think Ben Hurling is a Burgher? Is this how your tiny pea brain works? idiot.

From a point of view of fostering ethnic and religious amity the tone of the comment is racist and abusive. Whether you are a father, grand father or great grandfather the basic question is were you a victim of spanking ( a very mild term) to support spanking. You owe an answer to the public. I too may be classified a burgher but don’t dare call me burgher bugger and get caught.

            Jeremy,

I am a former soldier, as a Soldier no one can get even close to me let alone spank or assault me. No Monkey puts it’s paws on me. But I support the IGP here, because you may have not dealt with unruly Sri Lankan public, but I have. And I can tell you it’s not easy as a Law enforcement officer.

            Hope that answers your question.

Rtd. Lt. Reginald Shamal Perera, bugger you were a low class Lt., so stop talking like a 4 star general who commanded the entire military. Loser, you have such an ego to talk like this after retiring ONLY as a Lt.

                Tamil coolie,

I didn’t serve in the Army for too long to end up being a Brigadier. I came abroad to pursue my longstanding ambition of being a Stockbroker/Fund Manager.

This ‘Reginal Shamal Perera is an imposter’, and racist one at that.

How does he assume that someone is a Burgher just by his name – what a basic mistake for ‘an officer’. I hope this is not typical of our real officers.

He is clearly not an officer – accepted protocol is that only Major and above on retirement, use their rank after retirement in certain circumstances. So you are neither an officer, and on the evidence, neither a gentleman.

His ‘generalisations’ are laughable, and worse, his spelling is atrocious.

‘Retd. Lt.’?………all I can say is “Dismiss”!

Reginald Shamal Perera, idiot what does not attending a training seminar has to do with law and order you dumb f&*k? This is why you joined the army? How is that breaking the law? Firstly this bloody IGP bugger needs to attend one of these meditation classes to calm himself down. Reginald Shamal Perera, bugger you are dumb as dumb can be.

Its good that you are retired! In every civilized country, such action would have cost the officer his job and also called upon to pay compensation. I suppose we will remain like this, a good Budhist country, aimless but good only for a few corrupt politicos

        Kumaran,

Don’t talk nonsense. In Sri Lanka the Police is kind enough only to beat those who break the Law.

In countries like the US of A, the Police shoot every Negro who misbehaves.

In Canada, they Taser any monkey who tries to play a trick or two. In the UK, they strip search every Muslim rag head and remove the Burkas by force to see what’s inside.

The USA is the most backwards of the Developed nations. Especially when it comes to the issue of race it is behind most other developed nations. So you are not doing anyone a favour when comparing yourself with USA. Why don’t you compare yourself with an actual Developed country in Europe. Also from the language you use I can see that you are a racist. Who are you to look down upon Blacks or Muslims. If you went to the USA you will find that you would be racially abused if you came across a cop. Also when told a mistake about the way officers behave in Sri Lanka. Why do you feel the need to compare yourself to the USA and the mistakes that they do. Do you have that much of an inferiority complex that you need to show that the USA commits mistakes commits mistakes to justify your mistakes.

Fired army coolie Reginald Shamal Perera – In Canada the Chief of the RCMP does not walk into an elevator and hit people for not attending a meditation class. There are no meditation classes for cops in Canada because they are working 12 hours straight. The civilian members of the force operate during normal business hours. If you don’t perform, you are let go.

If you commit a crime, then you are dealt with by the police. An employee not attending a training session is not a crime. Only in your pukka police force it is a crime and you are a piece of goo which came out of Pujith’s dirty pukka. So it is time for you to stop cleaning toilets in some foreign country and get back to Pujith’s pukka and climb back in there.

We do not want that pattern of political thugs, who personal an involved man handling of citizens of our nation by the Police Services?
All security of life and safety our citizens that wholly depend on Police Services.
The Current man is not suitable for position for IGP.
He has lost the conscious duty and while discharge of responsibility and undermined rights of citizens of Sri Lankan. are incompetent of accountability for key services of Police Department of Island.
If it is Good Governance is really working on agenda of Democracy having ,hence an ensure Rule of Law by current Govt. , only option is removed his position immediate effect.
This key to restoration of rule of law and back to order of country, that we want honest people and right-thinking in people helm of governances in Sri lanka. That is basic pillar of Democracy. .
The without right thinking people in Place and Position of institutions ,we do have chance carry for society of Institutional democratic in Sri lanka?

    To all pundits and idiots,

I joined the Police as a Sub-Inspector at the age of 19. Left the service after 7 years in 1996.
You stupid idiots don’t know the way they serve without counting hours. Civilians don’t understand the hardships they are facing while on duty.
Again it’s not easy to control some of the junior officers. There are political henchmen too. Sometimes it’s difficult to take action because of their political connections. We need an IGP like the present one.
Every institution must have a tough leader in Sri Lanka.
If I were the IGP I would break that lift operator’s legs. If the lift operator disregard IGP’s instructions , can you people tell me how to run an organisation like the Police department?
Thank god I left the Police. I used to be a tough guy. I have slapped constables and there were times I used to garb my weapon and jump to shoot at the disobedient guys when I was serving in the North But they still like me.

      Yeah, Under the SL constitution,
Police officers have a license to break citizens legs?
How many legs have you broken mate?
Even before you find them guilty?

People like you are the scum of the earth, Sad you do not know that!
Do you think the uniform is a licenses to be an IRC?
so you can beat up and abuse another human being!
You back bone bends to four in front of big people and springs up in front of non affluent?

You know I know one SI who killed JVP youth who went mad finally!
Some get paralyzed and shit on their body in their last days.

The reason you don’t know the right and wrong is, You have not learned anything from your religion, school, parents, may be none taught you right and wrong! because you are a low life!

It requires a certain character and composer to become a police officer!
What we have at the moment in police are low life characters, bribe seekers coming from half bread families!

What you need is you meet the wrong person and beat the shit out of you in front of everyone and humiliate you, (may be break your legs too). So that you know how it bad to hurt another living creature! How does that happen to your son or daughter?

I do not associate any police officer, I don’t go to a police station in SL. That is my wisdom.
If you get them in, They will try to screw your wife, And I know someone who did it in Ratnapura and now sit in one of the top most place!

Miserable! Learn and be a decent human being!
We don’t need foreign judges, we need a whole foreign government to teach us from abc.

God Bless you Chinthaka for having served in the Police. This Lift operator, needs have his bloody head cracked. This IGP is too nice, I tell ya. If it was me, I’d give his Thatte one big punch to crack into two pieces like a coconut shell.

This fella is working for the Police and it’s his duty to work according to the orders of his superiors. This is insubordination of the highest order. He should be kicked out of his job ASAP.

Ado Reginald Shamal Perera, useless thug, if you had fought the war with this type of valour you spew out of that filthy mouth, you would have won this war 35 years ago and saved Lanka from all the misery the country is going through today. I am quite sure, you and your Parayapaksa thugs from Hambantota and those filthy Buddhist clergy were hiding under a straw mat in Veyangoda while the LTTE and the army were fighting it out. It appears, you are the best keyboard warrior out there. You went abroad to be a stock broker? you stated that in a different string. Then what happened to you, the foreign companies gave you a job as a toilet cleaner after having one look at you and immediately realized you amounted to nothing and looked like a fool, bloody loser. Why don’t you come to Canada and I will get you a job as a night cleaner as some of my friends own fairly large companies and they will give you one. At least that will be an honest living for you.
